Background(When the main character first meets him, he attempts to comfort them by trying to get them to stop crying and drops his hatchet as reassurance that he will not harm them. Alan has not been in contact with society for a while, that being apparent by his old flip phone. He expresses his surprise at how the main character's phone seems much more advanced than his own.

Alan's favorite constellation is Orion, as his last name is the same as the constellation.
