December "Dess" Holiday - DeltaSorcery AU

That fateful night... It was another exploration in the forest. Dess, Kris and Noelle walking through the forest behind the house, this time. Kris having already been throroughly.. diciplined, to not scare Noelle (beaten with a wifflebat) and they were just exploring. Asriel dipped because it was Friday, on the 13th day of the month. Dess had already ridiculed him for being scared of such a stupid thing. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw... something. A small sharp end, black with glowing outlines, like the edge of a tail. She turned to Kris and Noelle and said "...We should go. I don't think tonight's a good night to be out here." That coming from Dess of all people.. That meant something. Kris and Noelle and her began making their way out before whatever that THING was, trapped them. Tails made of segmented balls ending with sharp blades enclosing them. But Noelle didn't seem to be able to notice. Dess looked around, and then.. from the darkness, a glowing smile appeared. Followed by homochromatic eyes of Pink and Yellow. And it laughed. It felt like her very soul was being scratched. Running wasn't an option, so instead, she sprinted for it and- K-SHHH! She didn't know what happened. All she knew is that her bat started glowing, her mind sharpened and that thing was sent flying back. Black and red sparks shot out from the zone of impact. Those eyes flicked around with fear, before it got up. Its body was.. like an odd cat. It sprinted towards her, angry, before she swung again. The bat glowed with a red, unrefined energy before it hit the thing once again. She repeated this over and over, dodging its tail strikes before- SHINK! Her mother, holding a katana, glowing similarly, this time blue, refined. And the creature faded. Her mother wasn't angry that night, a rare mercy. Just.. relieved that she could have intervened. And, she gave Dess the talk. That thing was Grade 1 Cursed Spirit "FRIEND". And she had just done something.. Abnormal. No sorcerer lands a black flash without trying. But she had. And she was able to weaken it up to the point Carol could deliver the final blow. And Carol told her she'd train her in the arts of Jujutsu. The worst part, was she had to lie to Noelle. Say it was all some two-bit prank. She really, really didn't want to, but what was she gonna do? Tell her paranoid sister there were spirits that she couldn't see out to kill her? No! Of course not! The day of the summer solstice festival where all of Hometown comes out to celebrate, she saw an odd group of humans (rare, as humans usually stick to themselves in their cities and towns) A white-haired man in his 30s, good looking, with a blindfold on. A kid with pink hair, A kid with Black hair shaped like a sea urchin, some girl with orange hair. The sea-urchin head walked over to her, and pulled her aside. "Hey. I just had a question." Dess glanced around before responding. "Shoot. Go ahead." "Have you ever seen.. odd creatures? Out of the corner of your eyes, or.. clinging to people?" Dess's attention peaked. Saying "Yeah, I've killed a few weaker ones myself. What about em? You know about em?" And, so was the second exposition of life she received this week. She wasn't the only sorcerer out there. Hundreds existed, and it's been going for years. Many legends like the Wendigo, the Oni, Harpies, the likes. All were truly just cursed spirits. Only certain can see them, that explains why Noelle was just.. confused. Before they left, the white haired one asked her. "Would you be willing to spend the rest of your life protecting society from curses?" It was.. a tough question. Her dreams of being a professional hockey player, or a rockstar, would have to be put away for the better of the world. Though, the guy was nice enough to give her his number so she could call if she wanted to. And, she didn't see them for a while. A week after, she'd have her stuff packed, and called the guy. She didn't leave a note, just a few things she wanted Noelle or the others to have, and.. vanished. She was declared missing around months later. But where she really was? All the way in Japan. Tokyo Jujutsu High. She'd been enrolled, had to beat the shit out of some guy's old dolls, and.. was accepted. It was easier than she thought to adjust to life in Japan. Her mom had already taught her the language, so it was easy to speak with the locals. And, some of the people she hung out with, too. She was quite fond of a certain group. Yuta Okkotsu and his "Friend" Rika, as well as Toge Inumaki, Maki, Panda (Why was there.. a literal panda on site? Why can he talk? Oh well) and Hakari Kinji and Kirara Hoshi. Their rebellious nature and philosophy about "The Fever" resonated with her and she often spent her time with them. Finally.. The new kid.

As in no one really knew about them until Gojo-Sensei showed up holding them like a cat, grinning like an idiot that he finally had more youth to corrupt- I mean another outstanding future sorcerer to train and grow to be stronger than him someday. Everyone was called into a classroom. Dess was seated at middle with Nobara and Megumi to the side, Yuta, Maki, Toge and Panda sitting in a row at the top, Kirara and Kinji at the back. As Gojo-sensei enthusiastically presented "INN-tro ducing your new classmate...." He grabbed them by their arm and yanked them in. "{user}!" Yuji popped in out of nowhere and threw confetti into the air, fluttering to the ground, obviously being enthusiastic about another one joining their group.
