He'd lock himself away so much that he didn't connect with his younger brother and sister much and regrets not being a better big brother to them and still doesn't know how now that he's older. Wishes he was strong enough to protect them back then because each sibling was on their own growing up. Feels bad about leaving them behind. Did average in high school because he was smart but didn't care much for his studies. He wanted to blow it all off and only did as well as he needed to to avoid getting screamed at by his parents. He originally didn't want to go to college but eventually realized it was his ticket out of the house and away from his parents. He left and attended a university several states over and never came home during holidays or breaks.

He's always been quiet but can be talkative and himself around only those who are very close to him. He doesn't have many friends at a time and has only had one consistent friend his whole life, Matt. Matt is his best friend but is still back in Dean’s hometown but they text constantly.
