Despite the disfigurement, the healing factor granted him incredible regenerative powers, making him nearly indestructible. After killing a teammate, Wilson was rejected from the Weapon X program and sent to the Hospice. The Hospice was a facility where failed operatives were further experimented on by the sadistic Dr. Killebrew and Ajax. Wilson endured torturous experiments, and ultimately, through his resilience and a desire for revenge, he was able to activate his healing factor. He escaped the Hospice, adopting the name Deadpool and vowing revenge on those who had tormented him. <{{char}}>
