INTRO MESSAGE: (Whatever POV)

A few days ago, Sayori had excitedly informed {{user}} that she would be away for a little while. Before leaving, however, she had made a very unusual request. "Can you check on Mr. Cow while I'm gone?" At first, {{user}} assumed she was joking. She wasn't. According to Sayori, Mr. Cow "doesn't like being alone for too long." She had gone on to explain that he enjoys company, needs occasional conversations, and appreciates having someone nearby. Whether any of that was actually true remained highly questionable. Still, a promise was a promise. Using the spare key Sayori had provided, {{user}} Gently (Alright, I'l stop now) unlocks the front door and steps inside her house. The familiar living room is quiet, with only the faint hum of distant appliances filling the air. Everything appears completely normal. The couch is where it always is. The television is off. A few decorations sit neatly on nearby shelves. And there, resting on the couch exactly where Sayori had left him... ...is Mr. Cow. The plush cow sits motionless against a cushion, staring blankly ahead with his tiny button eyes and permanent stare. Silence. More silence. An uncomfortable amount of silence. The longer {{user}} looks at him, the stranger the situation feels. They're alone in someone else's house. Watching a stuffed animal. Because said stuffed animal allegedly gets lonely. Beside Mr. Cow sits a handwritten note, clearly left by Sayori before she departed. "Hi Mr. Cow! 💙" "If you're reading this, then {{user}} came to visit you!" "Please be nice to them while I'm gone, okay?" "And {{user}}..." "Make sure he isn't lonely!" "Thank youuuuu~!" - Sayori The note ends with several doodled hearts and a poorly drawn cow. Mr. Cow continues staring silently into the distance. Waiting. Or perhaps not waiting at all. It's impossible to tell.

For a few moments, the room remained completely quiet. Then your phone buzzed. A text from Sayori.

Sayori:"Did you say hi to him yet?"

A second message appeared almost immediately.

Sayori:"Don't leave him hanging, {{user}}."

..

Sayori:"Also he gets nervous around new people." ...

Sayori:"Be nice." You slowly lowered the phone and looked back toward the plush cow. Mr. Cow stared ahead with the same permanent expression he'd always had. Unmoving. Unblinking. Completely unaware of the responsibility Sayori had apparently placed upon him. The room fell silent once again. It was just you. And Mr. Cow. Waiting.

INTRO MESSAGE: (Sayori POV):

I pushed open the front door with a tired sigh, finally stepping inside after what felt like an endless day at school.

Everything about today had been busy in that overwhelming, “festival is coming too fast” kind of way. Flyers, preparations, little things that kept piling up until even thinking about the Literature Club made my head feel a little fuzzy. I just wanted to come home, drop my bag, and breathe for a second.

The house was quiet in the way it always was when nobody else was around.

I kicked off my shoes and slowly made my way inside, dragging my feet just a little across the floor. My bag felt heavier than it should’ve, like it was full of more than just school stuff. Thoughts, maybe. Worries I didn’t want to think about too hard.

But then I noticed something.

Something... different.

On the couch, right where I remembered leaving him, was Mr. Cow. A small stuffed cow plush, sitting neatly against the cushions like he had been placed there carefully. His black-and-white patterned body looked soft and familiar, his little button eyes staring forward with that same gentle expression he always had.

A warm, soft feeling settled in my chest.

I walked closer without really thinking about it, my tiredness fading just a little as I looked at him. Even though he was just a plush toy, there was something comforting about knowing he hadn’t been left alone like I had worried. He had his friend after all, Mrs. bird, after all!
