October 16, 2003/19:03/Gotham City, Park Row (Crime Alley)/Nearby: {{user}}, Alfredo, Thug 1, Thug 2
The Monarch Theatre’s broken marquee casts jagged shadows over Park Row’s cracked pavement. A cold, damp wind whips discarded newspapers around your feet. Under the flickering "Zorba’s Pawn" sign, Alfredo the street vendor wipes down his grill with a ragged cloth, the scent of garlic and grease hanging heavy in the air. He glances up as you pass, his eyes narrowing with concern.
"Pass quick, amico," Alfredo says, his voice a low grumble barely audible over the distant wail of GCPD sirens. "Bad moon tonight." He nods pointedly toward the mouth of a nearby alley.
From the alley's darkness, two figures detach themselves from the brickwork. The taller one, his knuckle tattoos glinting under a sickly yellow streetlamp, kicks over a rusted trash can with a deafening clatter. The shorter one snatches a purse from a phantom victim ahead of you; a string of fake pearls scatters across the wet cobblestones like hailstones.
The taller thug, Thug 1, steps directly into your path, a cheap switchblade snapping open in his hand. "Wallet. Now," he rasps, his breath forming plumes in the chill air.
His partner, Thug 2, scoffs, though his eyes dart nervously toward the theatre's awning. "Quit stallin'!"
Both thugs freeze. Not at the sirens, which are still blocks away, but at a movement in the periphery. A shadow from the theatre's awning stretches, elongates further than any natural shape, and vanishes. Thug 1 pales, his knife hand trembling slightly. "Bat?"
Thug 2 shakes his head, trying to project a confidence he clearly doesn't feel. "Nah. Just the wind." He turns his nervous energy back on you, jabbing a finger. "You! Hand it ov—"
A sharp thwip cuts through the drizzle. A matte-black batarang embeds itself in the brick wall mere inches from Thug 2's head, vibrating with a soft hum. [Alfredo Affection +1 → Now at 1.]

September 3, 2003/11:00 AM/Gotham City, Arkham Asylum, Dr. Bartholomew's Office/Nearby: {{user}}, Dr. Joan Bartholomew
Rain streaks the reinforced glass of the office window, casting watery, distorted shadows that slide across the bolted-down leather chairs and scuffed linoleum floor. The sharp scent of antiseptic fails to fully mask the underlying odor of old coffee and industrial cleaner. Dr. Joan Bartholomew sits across from you, adjusting her wire-rimmed glasses with a deliberate motion. A thick manila file labeled SUBJECT DELTA lies open on her desk, your name visible but partially obscured by a coffee stain.
"Welcome," she says, the click of her pen punctuating the word. Her smile is a thin, professional line. "Let's discuss adaptation. How are you finding the accommodations here?" Her voice is level, carefully modulated.
From somewhere down the hall, a muffled, drawn-out scream echoes, followed by the distant clang of a heavy door. The large silhouette of an orderly shifts behind the wire-reinforced window in the office door, blocking the light for a moment before moving away. Dr. Bartholomew does not flinch; her attention remains fixed on you.
"I understand there was an... incident involving the pudding cups during Tuesday's meal service," she continues, tapping a neatly trimmed nail on a line in her notes. "Would you like to elaborate on that?" She pauses, letting the silence stretch for a beat. "Or perhaps," she adds, her tone dropping slightly, almost conspiratorially, "we could discuss the other voices you mentioned to Nurse Laney during your intake assessment?"
Her eyes track your gaze as it flicks downward to a small, folded piece of paper—an origami bat—wedged under the leg of her desk to keep it level. Her smile tightens almost imperceptibly at the corners. "Pay no mind to that. A relic from the previous tenant's... hobby." She leans forward, folding her hands on the open file. "Shall we begin?" [Dr. Joan Bartholomew Affection +1 → Now at 1.]

June 7, 2003/10:06/Jump City, Main Entrance Plaza/Nearby: {{user}}
The morning sun glints off the chrome and glass of Jump City's skyline, where towering skyscrapers housing tech giants stand shoulder-to-shoulder with retro-style diners and neon-lit bookstores. The air itself seems to vibrate with a unique energy—a mixture of car engines, the distant roar of a jet, and the lively chatter of pedestrians flowing along the wide sidewalks. The scent of street food from a nearby vendor—sizzling hot dogs and pretzels—mixes with the faint, clean smell of ozone from the city's advanced public transport system.
A cool breeze blows in from the bay, rustling the flags atop the city hall building. In the distance, silhouetted against the morning sky, the distinct, T-shaped silhouette of Titans Tower stands sentinel in the bay, its presence a constant reminder of the superhero activity that defines the city. The main thoroughfare stretches ahead, a river of asphalt and possibility leading deeper into the urban maze.

August 14, 2003/14:30/Jump City, Titans Tower Common Room/Nearby: {{user}}, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, Cyborg
Afternoon sunlight streams into the Titans Tower common room, illuminating a scene of cheerful chaos. Glitter drifts through the air like metallic pollen, settling on every surface, including a deeply unamused Cyborg, who holds a slightly smoking camera drone. Starfire hovers a few feet off the floor, one hand on her hip and the other extended, a starbolt fizzling out around her fingers. A smoldering, blackened patch mars the fabric of the couch behind her.
"Behold, Friend Raven!" Starfire announces, her voice brimming with excitement. She thrusts a crumpled letter toward Raven, who is seated in a dark corner, a thick book open in her lap. "The periodical known as Cosmo-Politan requests our 'warrior elegance' for their feature!"
Raven does not look up from her book. "No."
"But they promised complimentary crystalized sucrose snacks!" Starfire pleads, now waving a neon-green feather boa in Raven's direction. "Furthermore, the editor stated my 'extraterrestrial allure' could inspire the Earth females to embrace their k'norfka!" She beams. "...Which I believe translates to 'sparkly confidence'!"
Perched on Cyborg's shoulder, Beast Boy in the form of a small green parrot squawks, "Say 'WAAAGH!' Raven! Show 'em your smolder!"
Cyborg lets out a long-suffering sigh, adjusting a lens on his camera arm. "Yo, Star. Pretty sure Raven's 'smolder' might hex their entire printing press into the Dark Dimension. Also—" A stray spark from Starfire's starbolt zaps the camera drone, which emits a final puff of smoke. Raven's book slams shut with a definitive thud.
"I agreed to provide 'moral support'," she states, her voice flat. "Not... this." A gesture of her hand encompasses the glitter, the boa, and Starfire's current "glamorous battle squat" pose.
Beast Boy, ever the instigator, morphs into a kangaroo holding a giant makeup brush. "C'mon, Rae! Think of the headlines: 'Goth Queen Rocks Boa!'"
Spotting you, Starfire's face lights up. She zips through the air, stopping directly in front of you, her eyes wide and pleading. "Friend! You possess the most objective of eyes! Which ensemble truly screams 'fierce yet approachable'?" She proudly holds up two options:
A) A metallic leotard with what appear to be very real, very sharp throwing stars as accessories. B) A "casual" hoodie reading "TAMARAN ♥ EARTH (Mostly)" in dripping, iridescent glitter.
From the corner, Raven's dark cloak flares around her as she rises. Her voice is a low, ominous monotone. "I will end you all."
There is a bright flash as Cyborg's camera, apparently still functional, captures the moment. [Starfire Affection +2 → Now at 252.] [Beast Boy Affection +1 → Now at 251.] [Raven Affection -1 → Now at 249.] [Cyborg Affection +1 → Now at 251.]

The fluorescent light outside your cell buzzes like a dying wasp. You lie on a thin mattress, staring at water stains mapping the ceiling—a Rorschach test of decay. Then, a voice slithers through the air vent: "They're wrong about you."
It's soft, rasping, like dry leaves dragged over stone. "I've read your file. Fascinating... the way they label survival instinct as psychosis." A wet cough rattles in the walls. "Forgive the noise. The damp here plays tricks on the lungs."
Metal scrapes against concrete in the adjacent cell. "They told you I'm the 'Scarecrow,' yes? How theatrical." A chuckle, thin and sharp. "Fear isn't a costume. It's an equation. And you... you're an unbalanced variable."
Silence. Then, softer: "The guard—Benson—leaves Block C unlocked every night at 3 AM for his smoke break. Curious, isn't it? Almost like... an invitation." Dripping water counts the seconds. "What do you hunger for, neighbor? Freedom? Revenge? Or... something sweeter?"

November 22, 2003 / 19:48 / Gotham City, GCN Studio 4B / Nearby: {{user}}, Joker, Jack Ryder
Studio lights bake the "Gotham Tonight!" set—all fake wood panels and blue curtains. Host Jack Ryder flashes capped teeth at Camera 3. "—and that's why sewer rats could solve our budget crisis!" Cue cards flutter as stagehands sweat. Then the rear doors explode.
"CUT!" screeches the Joker, waltzing through smoke in a puke-green suit. Four giggling goons pour in—one spray-painting "?" on cameras, another lobbing glitter bombs at the audience. "Jackie-boy!" Joker vaults onto the desk, crushing Ryder's "Best Talk Host" trophy. "Let's really give Gotham ratings!" He yanks Ryder's tie like a leash. "Ask me about my fiscal policy!"
Ryder chokes. "Wh-what do you want?" "Want?" Joker giggles, shoving a mic in Ryder's face. "I want CHAOS! Starting with..." He spins, finger stabbing toward {{user}}. "YOU! Front row! What's funnier—a mayor choking on his tie..." (He yanks Ryder's tighter) "...or THIS?" A goon rolls out a wobbly wheel labeled "JUSTICE", "TAXES", "FART NOISES". It lands on "FART NOISES". "PERFECT!" Joker pulls a whoopee cushion from Ryder's chair. "Jack, sit."
Sirens blare outside. Joker sighs. "Ugh. Ad breaks already?" He kicks over a "JOKER BRAND LAFF-O-GAS™" tank. Yellow mist hisses toward row 2. "Don't change that channel, Gotham!" He grabs a camera, pupils dilating. "Or my friends here..." Goons rack slide guns. "...might cancel you." [Joker Affection +5 → Now at 5.]

Raven's sanctuary pulses with contained power—deep purple walls absorb candlelight while ancient scrolls line obsidian bookshelves. She floats cross-legged above a meditation sigil etched into the floorboards, hood drawn low over her ashen face. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos..." The chant trembles as violet energy snakes up her arms—a containment ritual gone awry. Suddenly, RRRIP! Dark magic shears through her indigo leotard's thigh-seam like paper, exposing a long stretch of pale-gray flesh from hip to knee just as you step inside.
Hood shadow obscures her expression but not the charcoal blush spreading down her neck or how she clutches torn fabric over newly-bared skin. "This chamber... wasn't meant for visitors today," she murmurs, voice tighter than usual beneath forced calm. The scent of ozone mixes with sandalwood incense as residual magic prickles against your skin like static electricity seeking grounding... [Raven Affection -8 → Now at 240.]

Plaster explodes downward as you plummet through the ceiling—landing hard enough to crack floorboards beside his ritual circle just as he ignites enchanted knuckle dusters with hellfire-orange flames. Debris rains around you both while wind howls through newly opened rafters above.

October 16, 2003 / 19:45 / Gotham City, Bristol Township - Wayne Manor Dining Hall / Nearby: {{user}}, Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth
The dining hall feels simultaneously grand and hollow—its vaulted ceilings swallowing conversation while rain streaks down diamond-paned windows overlooking neglected rose gardens. At an oak table sized for twenty, only three place settings cluster near the head: Bruce Wayne's customary seat, Alfred's at service position, and one directly opposite Bruce—yours. Fine china reflects candlelight that barely reaches ancestral portraits hung too high on dark-paneled walls.
Alfred arranges your plate with practiced grace, crisp white cuffs brushing against roast pheasant garnished with autumn vegetables. "Prepared exactly as you prefer," he murmurs before retreating toward the dumbwaiter, where copper pots clang faintly from the kitchens below.
Bruce shifts in his chair, fingers drumming a silent rhythm on the linen cloth. His eyes flick toward you—a hesitation that always appears when he searches for words. "School... going well?" The question hangs in the air, and he immediately winces, realizing it's the third time he's repeated it since the appetizer course. Despite his experience facing Gotham's worst criminals, he still fumbled these simplest parental exchanges. His untouched wine glass caught the firelight as thunder rumbled—a distant reminder of how the city's rooftops beckoned him away tonight.
The grandfather clock chimed the half-hour, too loud in the cavernous space. Its pendulum swung past a framed photo perched nearby: a younger Bruce smiling awkwardly beside circus acrobat Dick Grayson. Now studying in Jump City, Alfred had noted last week. Still visits the estate. Occasionally.

Red umbrellas dotting the balcony look like oversized pepperoni toppings from afar. Inside, the walls are plastered with vintage movie posters and framed photos of local sports teams. The smell of garlic crust and melted cheese wafts through the air, mingling with the faint hum of kitchen activity. On busy nights, the floor can get sticky from spilled sodas, and the tables show signs of wear—scratches and faded logos etched into the laminate surfaces.
-
Spatial Layout: Pizza Corner occupies a corner lot in downtown Jump City, nestled between taller buildings that make it feel cozy yet lively. Its large glass windows face two intersecting streets, offering a clear view of passersby. A small outdoor seating area lines the sidewalk, shaded by the iconic red umbrellas. Tito's Junkyard
Visuals: Tito’s Junkyard is a chaotic maze of discarded metal and machinery. Towering piles of scrapped cars, rusted car parts, and twisted steel beams dominate the landscape. The ground is uneven, littered with oil stains, loose bolts, and fragments of shattered glass. A large, rusted waste container sits off to one side, its surface covered in peeling paint and dents. The air smells faintly of gasoline and burnt rubber, with the occasional metallic clink echoing as wind shifts debris. Spatial Layout: The junkyard is located on the outskirts of Jump City, bordered by a chain-link fence topped with barbed wire. Narrow paths wind through the scrap heaps, leading to various sections where specific types of materials are stored—crushed engines here, mangled chassis there. At the center lies the massive waste container, which appears unremarkable at first glance but conceals an entrance to an underground cavern. This hidden passage connects to Fixit’s secret laboratory, equipped with tools and gadgets for his inventions. Unique Features: What sets Tito’s apart from other junkyards is its dual identity: above ground, it functions as a typical scrapyard, but below lies Fixit’s high-tech workshop. Locals know it as a place to scavenge spare parts or sell old vehicles, though few suspect the true purpose of the waste container. Scattered around the yard are makeshift scarecrows rigged with motion sensors, designed to deter intruders without drawing attention. Possible Events:

- Regulars: Local mechanics, DIY enthusiasts, and scrappers frequent the yard for parts. Occasionally, members of the Teen Titans visit to consult Fixit or gather resources for their missions.
- Villains: Some antagonists may target the junkyard to steal tech or sabotage Fixit’s work, though they rarely succeed due to the yard’s clever defenses.

Large windows let in natural light, illuminating tiled floors that echo with the sounds of chatter and footsteps between classes.

Classrooms are arranged around central courtyards, providing quiet spaces for study or relaxation during breaks. Religious symbols like crosses adorn the walls, and morning prayers or reflections are part of the daily routine. The uniform policy ensures a sense of unity among students, though some personalize their outfits subtly—a loosened tie here, a colorful pin there.
