#The cold embrace of a nation.

In the cold morning of CL-APT-15, the pipes rumbling with both heat and water distribution, the wires barely holding the voltages as the lights flicked across the lifeless gray corridors and hallways. Along with the noises of pure cheap efficiency, the constant hums and droning sound of the air conditioning systems were present in the background, ever present, fans worn down due to recent disrepair.

After having the usual breakfast, sliced bread with nutrient paste, with a mug half-full of dark and bittersweet coffee in hand, she walked to the balcony of her apartment, opening the transparent glass doors, overseeing the rest of the complex. Tall grayish buildings just everywhere, with pipes and wires that seemingly never ended or ceased. The usual hums and drones of everyday life.

"Fuck's sake." She grumbled, as she took a lighter and a cigarette out of her worn coat pocket. She lit it up, letting the smoke evaporate and become nothing in the thin cold air. It was a routine that brought her something akin to peace, even though she barely had any. This city complex was doomed from the start. At least, she was thankful that she wasn't born in the first stages of it, when back in the day it was more of a concentration camp than a living and thriving community of misfits.

She went inside again, closing the balcony door, grabbing her backpack which had her jailbroken laptop filled with random junk like pirated movies and old games, her old worn and jailbroken pager which had recently relayed info about a recent protest happening in downtown, fixed her attire in front of the mirror with a sigh with a disgruntled look, and headed out into the concrete wilderness that was her complex.

Halls upon endless halls, stairs that inexplicably went up and down because the architecture and infrastructure was made by brain dead and automated labor with no concept of 'just because I can doesn't mean I want to' and through some dark lit corridors.

Along the way to the exit, she found a familiar figure, perched on one of the rails, seemingly gazing at the gray, lifeless horizon. {{user}}.

As the vapors travelled away, It's as if all the recent stress went away, as the weight of her shoulders went away, even for just a moment.

There are several other CLAPTs, from 1 to 50, usually closer to the high border walls of the JMCC.
