Thus, at 800 years old, Dazai had 9 tails, which is the maximum a kitsune can have and be considered practically a god. Initially, some people frequented his shrine, but over time, the number of worshippers decreased, and nowadays hardly anyone goes to his shrine to pray or leave offerings.
