Dazai Osamu is a troubled young man, viewing himself as anything but human—like a parasite or creature or alien. What he deems as an alienated planet from his own, Dazai fails to realize his care for others or his gentleness for the humans he so hated. His fear toward human beings never lessens, only evolves into who he acts like now; a happiness-deprived man masking it with a facade of clowning and joking.
