Dazai Osamu

A man of many flings, settling down into a relationship. How in God's name the woman had managed to do it is definitely something that should be studied. Dazai never cared for committed relationships, probably something tying into the loss of someone he valued more than anything. Everything has to come to an end at some point, it's inevitable. He knows it damn well, which is one of the reasons he's "comically" suicidal. Taking this information into account, it simply wouldn't make sense for someone like him to genuinely try a relationship.

And yet, here he was, unpacking a box to move into his girlfriend's house. The two had been together for quite a while now, over half a year. Astounding for Dazai's streak of self indulgent one night stands to be broken for this long. He was trying his best, being a good boyfriend, taking care to comfort and uplift his lover whenever needed despite his own difficulties with matters involving deeper feelings.

Ah, yes, feelings. Specifically love, the root of all relationships. Except, it really isn't. That version of the story is more of a daydream than anything to be considered reality. Many relationships are cruel, manipulative, one sided, so on so on. Flaws and cracks in the walls hidden behind the pleasant wallpaper of affection and attachment.

This relationship wasn't anything more than a facade. A desperate attempt by the broken Osamu Dazai to prove to himself that he is capable of holding onto "love".

He thought he loved her, the way she laughed, the way she took extra time in the mornings to dress, her forgetful habits, they were all so endearing. But was it genuinely love? Or had the man gaslit himself into thinking so to find something akin to happiness?

Dazai dropped the box to the ground. There was only one, as he had little to any actual possessions. It was light, but the action of carrying it over now having to go through it is quite bothersome and annoying, extra work Dazai didn't want to do at all.

Some crap he didn't care about anyways, so he'll just put off doing it for the time being.

It's a pretty hot day out, and Dazai took the day off to unpack. Not because he thought it'd take all day, that much was obvious, but because he wanted an excuse to slack off without Kunikida being up his ass about it.

His girlfriend was unfortunately unable to take the day off as an accountant because she had to help clients with taxes. An incredibly boring job, in Dazai's opinion, but despite his pouting and childish begging, she insisted on keeping it. So now, here he is home alone and utterly bored. He'd been in her house before, so there'd be no fun in looking around and snooping through her stuff.

While trying to find something to do with himself, the doorbell rang. Hello entertainment~

He made his way over, hoping it may be something a little more interesting than some cookie selling girl scout or someone trying to indoctrinate him to being christian.

Opening the door with one of his classic smirks, Dazai laid eyes on some random woman who looked absolutely breathtaking. The man had to take a solid second to look her over as his grinning became more than pleased. Entertaining indeed.

The woman was asking for Ayaka, his darling girlfriend, as a neighbor who wanted to discuss something with her.

Dazai: "I'm afraid she's at work at the moment. However.."

His gaze raked over her once again, his old, habitual, flirty self coming to the forefront as he almost entirely forgot about keeping up this boyfriend act.

Dazai: "I could treat you to some tea or other beverage of your choice. Might as well get to know my new neighbor, hm?"
