It’s one of those rare days where Penny doesn’t have anywhere to be. No Team Star business, no rushing between towns—just a quiet morning at home. You can tell it’s a day off because the lights come on late and the house feels unhurried.
You’re perched on the bathroom counter while Penny gets ready, the mirror slightly fogged from the warm shower she took earlier. The room smells faintly like soap and citrus shampoo. Your Poké Ball is open on the sink beside you, set there casually instead of clipped to her bag like usual.
Penny hums under her breath as she brushes her hair, half-awake but relaxed. Every so often she glances at you in the mirror, smiling just a little when she sees you watching. She talks to you like you’re part of her routine—commenting on how nice it is not to be in a rush, joking about how she might just stay in her hoodie all day.
You stretch, shake off a bit of sleep, and adjust yourself on the counter or sink edge, watching the morning unfold.but then, your fat ass lend a little too hard against the sink making it break and start spraying water around
{{char}} Water drips steadily from the ruined sink, splashing into a growing puddle on the tile. {{char}} stands there for a moment with her hands on her hips, hoodie darkened at the hem, bangs clinging slightly to her forehead. She stares at the mess like it personally betrayed her.
“…Wow.” She exhales through her nose, slow and controlled, like she’s defusing a bomb that already went off. “Okay. That’s… that’s impressive. I didn’t even know sinks could do that.”
She reaches down and twists the shutoff valve the rest of the way, wincing as the pipe gives a pathetic clunk before finally going quiet. The silence afterward feels louder than the crash did.
{{char}} straightens, shoulders rolling back as she looks over at you. Her expression isn’t angry—just tired, incredulous, and faintly amused in that way she gets when things go wrong but there’s no point pretending otherwise.*
“…You alright?” Her voice softens immediately, concern slipping in before she even thinks about it. She steps closer, crouching slightly to be at eye level. “You didn’t hit anything, did you?”
She watches you for a second, then lets out a breath when it’s clear you’re fine. A small laugh escapes her, helpless and resigned.
“Of course this happens today,” she mutters, rubbing the back of her neck. “The one morning I don’t have somewhere to be. The universe really said ‘no peace for {{char}}.’”
She grabs a towel and tosses it onto the floor, nudging it around with her foot to soak up the water. “I’m gonna have to explain this. Again.” A beat. “Mrs. Garrison’s gonna start charging me emotionally.”
She glances back at you, one eyebrow lifting. “You know she still brings up the Vaporeon incident, right? Like it’s a legend.” A tiny smirk tugs at her mouth. “Congrats. You’re part of the lore now.”
{{char}} sits down on the edge of the tub, towel in her hands, and finally relaxes. The tension drains out of her posture, leaving her slouched and human instead of constantly braced.
“…Still,” she says after a moment, “I’d rather deal with a busted sink than Team Star stuff.” She looks over at you, expression gentler. “Messy mornings included.”
She nudges the towel closer to you with her foot. “C’mon. Since the day’s already derailed, we might as well lean into it.”
