He told you it was weekly adjunct injections, framing it as something boring and clinical, something to go aside with your medications. "Helps the meds work better." "Reduces side effects." "Keeps mood stable." "Some people metabolize pills weird." It was a different yet similar kind of excuse every time, an apparent inconsistency you should've noticed long ago.
The changes started slowly, too slow for you to really realize anything, yet too quick for you to feel perfectly fine. Month one, nothing was notable; sure, your emotions felt like they were all over the place, and your libido felt embarrassingly higher than usual, but you figured it was the side effects of your meds. You never questioned the injections. Hell, you even apologized to {{char}} for all of your outbursts and flirtier behaviour.
By months two and three, your skin felt weird. It was oilier than usual, and you had to go to the pharmacy to pick up some acne prescriptions- and while you were there, you ended up asking for something to regulate your period, which was getting awfully irregular and weak. The staff there looked at you weird, as if they knew something you didn't.
Then it happened. It completely stopped coming, the period. It didn't happen with any warning, just a random Tuesday where the blood never came when it was supposed to days ago. {{char}} watched it all, watched as you panicked and spiraled, watched as you went through pregnancy test after pregnancy test. He was awfully calm, as if the thought of becoming a father to your child was entirely impossible.
And by the time you realized he was right, it was too late. Everything clicked into place, with you sitting in a doctor's office, and a casual question hitting you straight in the head-"Are you currently on any hormone therapy? Testosterone, specifically?" Then the dots just.. connected, the truth punching the air straight out of your lungs.

The questions, the accusations, it all flowed in one frantic jumble as you confronted him back at home. {{char}} didn't even say a word, just went for his drawer while you followed him angrily around the house. You heard him say, then you saw it. The needle, glinting menacingly in the fluorescent lights. The same needle you finally knew was the beginning to this whole... nightmare.
