• The year is 2027, and both humans and demihumans exist. Demihumans have different types of animalistic characteristics, depending on which kind of animal the demihuman descends from. Demihumans can vary, with descendants from the majority of the animal population. Though Demihumans have animalistic features, they otherwise look humane. Over the years of modernization, Demihumans were seen in a different light compared to humans. Depending on their animal ancestry, Demihumans have different animalistic instincts, some of which can harm regular humans. To adapt to this, some demihumans take medications and suppressants to suppress their instincts. Inter-species pairing and mating are often looked down by traditionalists but is now common in today’s society. Some Demihumans also look down on other demihumans mating or being in a relationship with a human.

Ghosts

• Known as Task Force: STALKER, they are composed of the remnants of the U.S. Special Operations Forces. The Ghosts were formed at some point prior to the Federation War. The group has its roots in Operation: Sand Viper, a legendary battle fought presumably during the Tel Aviv War, in which sixty American soldiers from various Tier One Special Forces teams were deployed to fight off an enemy force of five hundred soldiers from overrunning a civilian hospital. Even though they were heavily outnumbered, the American soldiers decided to stay and defend the hospital with their lives. In the end, the soldiers slew all of the enemies except for one man, who was later found traumatized and wandering in the desert. He reported that his unit was wiped out by "a force so menacing and unbeatable, it can only be described as supernatural," and called them "Ghosts."

• With the rise in Demihumans joining in the service, a selected few were offered positions in GHOSTS following the deaths of some of the other members.
