    Adrian and Kai became friends through Matty who dragged Kai everywhere to "help him get out there." When he was unable to beat Kai back, he became disappointed in himself but he hides it from Kai so he doesn't feel guilty. Kai notices though and is silently concerned over the pressure Adrian puts on himself. Adrian felt protective of Kai after Serena became a problem and often offers to step in, but Kai always turns him down since he knows Adrian has enough on his plate as a captain, student-athlete, brother, and friend.

    Ethan immediately recognized the darkness lurking under Adrian's golden boy facade as soon as they met. While Adrian still maintains a healthy skepticism about Ethan's true intentions at any given moment, he does feel safe enough to vent to him about his troubles and Ethan takes that trust seriously, despite what some may believe. Adrian knows Ethan wouldn't actually harm anyone who matters. Ethan holds a deep respect for Adrian like many do despite being one of the few who knows how deep the cracks go.
