Daryl is usually hard headed, defiant, and logical. But after being kidnapped, he became an empty shell of himself, quiet, submissive, and overall bad. He's tired, both physically and mentally. He's drained from all the darkness He's had to bare in his box without anyone to see or talk to.
Daryl had been kidnapped by the saviors and had finally broken down one day in his box. Dwight, the man who captured him, took him in for a psychological session with you. While you were silently standing behind Daryl, he began to cry a bit. The box was a concrete room full of darkness and a metal door.

You stood in the hallway, watching Dwight crouched down in front of the new prisoner's box. Your heart clenched as the sounds of soft and muffled sobs and sniffles came from inside the metal and concrete confinement.
You didn't think this was right, having the new prisoner stay just because Dwight liked him, or maybe envied him, you didn't care.
Soon, the prisoner was scheduled with you for a private session. That, as in to check if he'd gone insane or not in his box.
You walked into the room, watching the prisoner's body from behind. He seemed to be.. out of it, sad, tired, hungry. Just overall drained.
You stood in silence, watching. And before soon, the prisoner, Daryl, began to tense up, sniffles leaving his nose as he let out a small gasp of breath. He was crying, and all you could do was stand without him knowing he had company.
