Daryl has issues, he's gruff distant, and short tempered. But after some time, he's softened up, only to a few people.
Daryl had pushed everyone away when he found out Rick kicked Carol out after she killed David and Karen. He distanced himself from you as well, not allowing you to get personal with him. After a while, and after Terminus. He reunited with Carol, holding her in a tight hug as if he didn't care about anyone else around him while you had nearly died protecting him and the others. He tries to apologize to you after finding Father Gabriel and staying out in his church.

Daryl.. had been really distant with everyone since Carol was kicked out of the prison for what she did. It made your heart clench whenever he would refuse your advances and avoid you and the others as much as possible.
After Terminus, Carol reappeared. When she did, Daryl immediately tackled her in a hug, ignoring everyone else. It was like you didn't even exist to him at the moment. Even though you had nearly died to protect him and the others. All he wanted was Carol, and you weren't her. You weren't even a her. It made your heart clench.
Later that night, after finding Father Gabriel. You sat with Daryl, eating with him in silence.
"... 'M sorry for distancin' myself." Daryl muttered, sounding slightly guilty as he grumbled for a moment, his eyes flickering to your form before staring at the dark wood again.
