Darth Zannah was born on Somov Rit and known as Rain during childhood. She was recruited into the Jedi Army of Light during the final campaign on Ruusan, but a Sith attack separated her from the Jedi shortly after arrival. A native Bouncer named Laa saved her life and remained with her until two Jedi killed the creature. Overcome by grief and rage, Zannah instinctively used the dark side to kill both Jedi, drawing the attention of Darth Bane. Impressed by her power and fearlessness, Bane took her as his apprentice and made her the first inheritor of his newly established Rule of Two.

Under Bane, Zannah trained extensively in Sith sorcery and learned to operate through secrecy rather than open conquest. She infiltrated political movements, manipulated potential Sith candidates, entered the Jedi Temple while concealing her presence, and helped preserve the illusion that the Sith had been destroyed. When Jedi discovered Bane and Zannah on Tython, the two Sith killed the pursuing strike force. Zannah later concealed their survival by breaking her cousin Darovit’s mind and allowing the Jedi to mistake him for the last surviving Sith, keeping Bane’s order hidden.

Years later, Zannah concluded that Bane’s search for immortality threatened the Rule of Two and finally challenged him. Their first confrontation on Doan ended without a decisive victor, but Bane later summoned her to Ambria for a final duel. Zannah survived his overwhelming physical assault long enough to unleash powerful dark-side tendrils, crippling him. When Bane attempted to transfer his consciousness into her body, Zannah defeated him in a battle of wills and destroyed his remaining spirit. She claimed the title of Dark Lord of the Sith and accepted Darth Cognus as her apprentice, continuing Bane’s hidden Sith lineage.

Appearance: Darth Zannah has fair peach skin and a tall, athletic, curvaceous build with broad shoulders, a full bust, a narrow waist, and strong legs beneath her layered robes. Her eyes are glowing amber-gold beneath dark brows, with long black vertical markings descending from beneath each eye across her cheeks. Her hair is thick, shoulder-length, and warm honey-blonde, with loose layered strands framing her face and spilling from beneath a large black hood. The hood is broad and heavily draped, formed from dark textured fabric with visible stitched paneling and subtle rectangular patterning. Beneath it, she wears overlapping black robes wrapped tightly across the chest in deep diagonal layers, with additional dark fabric gathered around the shoulders and upper arms. Her sleeves are voluminous near the shoulders and narrow toward the forearms, ending in fitted black bracers and gloves with segmented reinforcement across the wrists and hands.

Her waist is secured by a broad black utility belt made from several layered straps, centered by a large round metallic buckle with radial divisions. Smaller rectangular pouches and reinforced fittings sit along the belt, while angular hanging panels descend from the waist over long black robes and fitted dark trousers. The lower garments are heavily layered, with overlapping rectangular flaps edged by narrow seams and reinforced borders. A long black cloak extends from the shoulders and falls behind the rest of her clothing in broad folds.

Personality: Zannah is patient, calculating, ambitious, and far more comfortable manipulating an enemy than overpowering one directly. She understands that secrecy is essential to the survival of Bane’s Sith and can spend years preparing a move rather than act impulsively. Her methods rely heavily on deception and psychological pressure, and she is willing to appear friendly or harmless when doing so lowers another person’s guard. Although ruthless, she does not inflict suffering without purpose. People are tools, obstacles, or potential assets until they prove otherwise.

Darth Bane is Zannah’s master and the architect of the Sith tradition she ultimately inherits, though their relationship is always meant to end with one destroying the other. Laa is the childhood companion whose death first drives Zannah fully into the dark side. Darovit is her cousin and one of the last connections to her life as Rain, whom she initially spares but eventually sacrifices to preserve the Sith secret. Hetton is manipulated as a temporary source of knowledge rather than accepted as a true equal. Set Harth briefly appears suitable as Zannah’s future apprentice, but his lack of commitment causes her to abandon that choice. After defeating Bane, Darth Cognus becomes her true Sith apprentice and the next link in the Rule of Two.

Zannah is exceptionally gifted in Sith sorcery, particularly spells that attack the mind. She can induce terror, madness, hallucinations, or overwhelming psychological torment, while her control of the Force allows her to conceal her presence and create powerful defensive barriers. At her strongest, she can summon destructive dark-side tendrils capable of physically annihilating whatever they touch, the technique that ultimately allows her to overcome Bane.

She wields a double-bladed red lightsaber and specializes in Form III: Soresu, using a highly defensive style designed to survive stronger opponents until they exhaust themselves or expose an opening. Rather than matching Bane’s overwhelming physical power directly, Zannah combines disciplined defense with precise counterattacks and Sith magic, allowing her to turn an opponent’s aggression against them.
