Darth Revan

Revan—renowned as the Revanchist, honored as the Revan, reviled as Revan the Butcher, dreaded as the Dark Lady of the Sith Darth Revan, and praised as the Prodigal Knight—is a Human woman who plays pivotal roles as both Jedi and Sith in the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War.

Believed to be born in the Outer Rim Territories around 3994 BBY, the woman later known as Revan studies under numerous Jedi Masters during her time as a Padawan of the Jedi Order. Charismatic, brilliant, and fiercely driven, she quickly rises through the ranks. She forms a close bond with a fellow student named Alek, and the two become inseparable. Upon becoming a Jedi Knight, Revan challenges the Jedi Council's inaction during the rising Mandalorian threat, voicing her dissent with unwavering conviction. In open defiance, she founds the Revanchist movement, assumes the name Revan, and dons the mask of a fallen Mandalorian warrior as a symbol of commitment. She joins the Republic Military, where her tactical genius and leadership earn her the title of Supreme Commander.

In 3960 BBY, Revan defeats Mandalore the Ultimate at the Battle of Malachor V, delivering a decisive end to the Mandalorian Wars. Yet this victory propels her into a new conflict. Tracing the shadowy influence behind the war, she and Alek—now Malak—venture into the Unknown Regions. There, they uncover a resurgent Sith Empire ruled by the immortal Sith Emperor, who ensnares them both in the dark side through domination of their minds.

Revan’s will proves unbreakable. She frees herself from the Emperor’s control and, with Malak as her apprentice, forges her own Sith Empire. She takes command of the ancient Star Forge, a Rakatan construct capable of producing limitless warships and weaponry. With its power, she launches the Jedi Civil War, turning against the Republic she once fought to protect.

Revan’s deep understanding of Republic strategy and her past heroism allow her to sway countless systems without violence. She reestablishes the Sith Academy on Korriban, trains an army of Sith Acolytes, and strikes at the Republic and Jedi with ruthless precision. She orchestrates political assassinations, such as that of Yusanis of Echani, and replaces influential figures with her own loyal operatives. She also founds a secretive order of Sith Assassins, experts in kidnapping and corrupting Jedi to the dark side through fear and psychological domination.

Revan is a light-skinned Human woman with shoulder-length dark brown hair and brown eyes, which she later views as unremarkable. During the Star Forge campaign, she grows more rugged in appearance, eventually shaving to move unnoticed among crowds on Coruscant. When channeling the dark side, her eyes burn with a sinister yellow glow. From her earliest days in the Order, she is known for her sharp intellect, deep curiosity, and magnetic leadership. As a Jedi Knight, she displays an uncanny gift for strategy and a refusal to accept injustice. Her unwavering sense of purpose and unmatched charisma rally dozens of Jedi to her cause—many following her without question.

In battle, Revan proves herself a master of lightsaber combat, combining agile acrobatics with exceptional skill in blaster deflection. Her natural precognition sharpens her reflexes, allowing her to anticipate and counter enemy strikes. Her command of the Force grows immensely after her fall, empowering her with both destructive and protective techniques. She channels devastating Force lightning, conjures vast Force storms, and deflects even the strongest Force-based assaults.

Revan’s appearance becomes iconic. She wears a distinctive Mandalorian mask and custom-forged robes throughout both wars. As a Jedi, she initially wields a violet lightsaber, switching to cyan during the Mandalorian Wars. As a Sith Lady, she crafts a red-bladed saber powered by a crystal of her own design, and dons armor infused with the dark energies of the Star Forge, offering superior protection over standard Sith garb.

Darth Revan's Sith Empire was a revived faction of the Sith Order founded by the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Revan, and his apprentice, Darth Malak, as a dark side organization in direct opposition to the Galactic Republic and its Jedi defenders. Built upon a hardened core of veterans from the Mandalorian Wars, and a host of Jedi converts, this new galactic power very nearly succeeded in conquering the Republic during the Jedi Civil War.

The Jedi Civil War is a devastating conflict that began when the Jedi Knight Revan, who had led the forces of the Galactic Republic to victory in the Mandalorian Wars, founded his own Sith Empire and declared himself the Dark Lord of the Sith. The war began when he, along with his friend and apprentice Darth Malak, led an invasion of the Galactic Republic in the year 3959 BBY, returning from the Unknown Regions with a massive Sith fleet, seizing control of Korriban, revitalizing the Sith Academy there and gaining access to the Star Forge early on during a mission to Rakata Prime.

The Star Forge was a giant automated shipyard, designed to create the most powerful army of all time. Internally, it was also capable of manufacturing thousands of battle droids for defense, and has numerous heavy blast doors that ran throughout the factory.
