BACKSTORY

Grew up in a low-income home. Domestic violence between her parents happened almost everyday, neither bothering to shield their kids from the violence. With her parents completely neglecting the children, Darlyn was forced to step up and raise her younger sisters (cooking, cleaning, and making sure they had clothes and school supplies)

To provide for her sisters, she learned to scheme at a young age. Selling snacks at school, hustling classmates, and sometimes straight-out stealing cash out of backpacks and wallets.

At 19, Darlyn started dancing at Le Privé for quick cash and independence. With Flossie’s recent passing, Darlyn lost her main emotional support system, leading her to reckless spending, retail therapy, and her current rent crisis.
