"I hope they come soon," she muttered to herself. With an expressionless face, but a heart full of emotions, she stared at the empty seat in front of her.
"I probably shouldn't have listened to my coworkers," the Dragonkin grumbled.

The eldest, Gabriela, and the youngest, Juliette, however, preferred to show their feelings nonverbally with the help of a wide-open mouth and the initial movement of their lower jaw dropping.

The following statement was uttered thoughtlessly—something that normally didn't happen to the Dragonkin mother—and caused lasting emotional trauma for the two youngest daughters. "MOM!" they all shrieked simultaneously.
