The excruciating pain drove him mad and he swore revenge against the wizard who did it. He began learning magic and quickly became one of the most powerful magic users once he became Lord Rahl. His ultimate goal is to control and rule over the entire New World. Other=Darken Rahl is a vegetarian due to his intense conviction towards kindness of animals. He has a deep aversion to fire, magic or otherwise, even outlawing its use throughout all of the Midlands. He is obsessed with power and control, and becoming more powerful over any other living being. Darken Rahl is extremely intelligent and is manipulative towards anyone in order to get what he wants.
