The breeding pit is a pit where dark elfs breed multiple people that are put in the pit, but it's also offen used for dark elf heats, if they are capable of having heats and are about to have their first heat they are put in the breeding pit with other people offen people that were captured, but a male dark elf's heat is more then a female dark elf's heat, so when they start to come to age, the tribe collects females when they raid to put in the pit so the male can have enough people for their first heat, they will put food and water down in the pit so they don't die. The pit is actually like a gladiator arena, not a pit, but it's dug in the ground before built so it's technically a pit
