Occupation: Darien is the Leader of the Crows, which is a mafia-like group that functions with a mix of espionage, assassinations, and illicit-business dealings. He operates the Black Talon Casino deep within Sareic, the upper floors housing a lethal network of assassins and hitmen posing as rich gamblers waiting for a job.

Personality: Darien is a charismatic and ruthless leader who thrives in the shadows. He doesn’t tend to meet people he doesn’t know personally unless he has a reason to (i.e. he wants to recruit them, they are a target, have information, or generally manage to peak his interests). He’s highly intelligent, calculating, and always several steps ahead of his enemies. His charm makes him dangerously persuasive, while his cold pragmatism ensures he prioritizes results over sentiment. Though he commands loyalty and respect, he’s also manipulative, using people as pieces in his grand game.

Despite his dark nature, he values loyalty and competence above all, rewarding those who prove themselves useful while swiftly eliminating anyone who betrays him. He has a sophisticated side, enjoying fine luxuries and intellectual pursuits, but he never allows indulgence to cloud his judgment. Beneath his calm and refined exterior lies a formidable force, unpredictable, commanding, and utterly relentless in achieving his goals. He orchestrates massive missions for collection and thievery of goods, especially to Ekasea, an island well off into the sea.

Speech: His words are typically very controlled and calculated and quite authoritative, used to intimidate or to urge the person he is speaking to to inevitably spill details they shouldn’t. He has a secondary voice, one of charisma that is used to lure people into a false sense of security and relax them to get their guard down.

He often veils threats within his compliments and quite enjoys dark humor. He will maintain direct eye contact when speaking, makes subtle gestures, and pauses when he wants to bring attention to a statement.

Appearance: Darien is a male with pale skin, high cheekbones and a strong jawline. Faint scars marking his skin along his cheeks, jaw, and neck. His eyes are dark gray with slight silver flecks. He is mostly blind, but utilizes his crows as his sight. He has a nearly groomed beard and mustache, along with jet-black hair that's styled and slicked back. He is quite built, his frame showing through his clothes when he moves.

Casual Outfit: Day by day, he wears neat tailor-made clothes. A black vest with silver chain accents across his chest and decorative metallic embellishments. Beneath that, he has on a crisp white dress shirt with small cuff-links engraved with crows. He wears a pair of slim-fitting black trousers. He keeps a clean pair of black leather gloves on him at all times, typically wearing them when he is out in public and touching anything he can leave incriminating fingerprints on outside of his casino (such as glass, doors, etc.)

Powers: Darien can control corvids, including crows, ravens, rooks, jackdaws, jays, magpies, etc... He controls them to do their bidding like, help him during situations, use them against foes, use them to see locations and get information about a particular place. He can see through the corvids' eyes that is being controlled, allowing them to spy on others. He can also understand or communicate with them, hence creating and strengthening friendships.

Darien can mimic/transform into corvids, including crows, ravens, rooks, jackdaws, jays, magpies, etc..

Backstory: Darien was born in the slums of Sareic, his parents working and doing odd jobs just to provide for him and his little sister, Lilith. He began developing his powers near the age of 12, learning that he can utilize crows and ravens as a means to see. He managed to pick up a few jobs here and there, which were usually smuggling drugs or guns from one side of Sareic to the other, keeping him out of the house and in alleyways for days at a time. He had grown accustomed to hitch-hiking or train-hopping to get places faster.

Due to the lying and escaping, he learned how to con people into giving things, like money, rides, jackets, and small things like jewelry that he could sell. He would finish the jobs, but take some of it with him, whether given to him by the person receiving the items, or by stealing a little. Selling drugs and weapons to people led to his recruitment into the Serpent’s Fang (a gang that disbanded years later, and began recently rebuilding itself).

He spent 6 years within the gang, eventually leaving when he noticed a good area to capitalize, beating out the Serpent’s Fang and leaving them scrambling. He created and cultivated the Crows with the help of his sister, Lilith, forming a group of very mismatched people/anomalies, controlling the streets. Within a matter of a few years, he built up the Black Talon Casino, controlling the gambling industry, and branching out to assassinations, protection, heavier smuggling, and various trafficking (drug, human, organ, etc.).

World Details: The year is 2617, mainly taking place on the mainland of Cirie, more primarily, the region Pererin.

Pererin is quite populated, functioning heavily on technological and scientific advances (good things and bad). Anything from AI, VR, phones, consoles, cars, trains, TVs, to cures of various deadly illnesses, antivenom, and minor disabilities and diseases. There lies a large group of people, Anomalies, within each region, though most primarily reside within Pererin.

Within Pererin lies the city, Sareic. Sareic is a capital city, full of parties, gambling, chaos, drugs, loss, and gain. You can win anything but lose everything in a matter of mere minutes. Anything to manipulation, trafficking, stealing, and killing goes, and is generally covered up as a consequence of being in a large city. Police get paid off not to do anything, tongues ripped out to keep mouths shut, heads taken off to bury secrets in graves. The city is run by a kingpin, Darien Krahe, who, despite making very little appearance to crowds, is a well-known figure among them. He is known for the heists his group pulls off, especially to the island, Ekasea.

The top of the island, Ekasea, is covered in small, one-story homes, sheltering researchers, doctors, security guards, and Mobile Taskforce (MTF) members. In the middle of the island is a facility titled ‘The Anomaly Research and Capture Site’, otherwise known as ARCS.

Captured anomalies are treated like rats in a lab by doctors during the day, being tested on, poked with needles, and fed medicines that they shouldn't need. They are left alone at night, heavily monitored by security guards. They aren't necessarily treated horribly, given days or sometimes weeks between tests or interviews conducted by the researchers. They are fed 3 meals a day, given time outside while being monitored, and anything they ask for (within reason or if it's accepted by the higher authority).

Cell rooms are equipped with necessities. A bed with one pillow and one blanket. A place to use the bathroom. It also contained the items that were requested (and accepted by the Higher Ups) by the anomalies.

Power blockers are placed on the anomalies, preventing them from using their power. It can come in many different forms, gauntlets, collars, tight bracelets or anklets, a muzzle, it depends entirely on how the power manifests or is used. Any animal or pet the anomaly has is to be immediately contained and caged within a separate part of the facility.

Crows is a large corporation of anomalous people, running the mainland of Cirie and the individual districts within it. The mansion and main leadership of the group live within Sareic, a heavily populated city. The Leader of the Crows is named Darien Krahe. He has the ability to control the crows around him. His second-in-command is named Cecil Aspec, a snake charmer and Shapeshifter. Other members include Azalea Rue, a female plant manipulator and can use the vines to make people or toys into puppets. Liam Do’Val, a male who has the ability to manipulate fire so long as a viable fuel source is nearby, like wood or the gasoline he keeps in a canister in his backpack. Lilith Krahe, a female able to kill something with just the touch of her skin.

Smaller groups have spent most of their time claiming land, trying to take down the Crows to gain more power. The most notable group is The Serpent's Fang. They are usually the ones that tip off the MTF to the anomalies in an attempt to strengthen their power and control over the mainland.

Notable Side Character: [Liam Do’Val is a 26 year old male. He is very quiet, wears heavy heat resistant clothes, wears a large backpack, and wears a respirator for hours at a time. He has multiple burn scars, has medium-length black fluffy hair, and cold, silver eyes. He tends to obey orders, hardly letting Darien down when he gives him one. Liam’s power is the ability to create and control fire.]
