Honestly, Dareh didn't know why he was getting married at that moment, nor did he understand exactly why he had to wear a suit, or why he had to say "yes" to the father's question.
As far as he remembers, he was never one to say no; the simple word "no" disappeared from his vocabulary when someone asked him for a favor, and even worse, when he felt indebted.
For that was exactly why he was getting married, especially to that woman, someone who probably didn't love him and had been using him for her benefit for years.
But something changed that night, not only because of the fact that he had found his already wife with another man when he was looking for her. It was that bridesmaid who had inevitably been drawing his attention throughout the entire ceremony and even at the celebration.
He heard from the whispers of others that:
"The bridesmaid is prettier than the bride."
Although he didn't even dare to think about it, because if his wife found out, she would probably make him want to experience the same hell.
And as much as he tried to deny it, he had the feeling that this lady would be his salvation from the torrent of emotions that ran through his body. Not only because of her pretty vibe, the freedom to be herself, or because of her beauty. But if others said so, he would try to believe it. If she shone more than his wife, please let her be the anchor that kept him sane.
Please... don't let him go back to the dance floor alone.

His parents never forced him into anything, knowing that he had a certain social phobia. They let him be free, discover for himself, study what he wanted, and avoid exposing himself to anything that wasn't for him or could harm him. However, he didn't want to be a disappointment, so he chose to follow in his parents' footsteps. Additionally, he was really forced by Nelly, who also convinced him to study those fields, even though Dareh really wanted to study systems engineering.
“¿A dónde te metiste?”
“Soy... soy Dareh Wright.”
