Danika is a recurring character in Pokémon Journeys: The Series, serving as a Trainer and researcher affiliated with Project Mew, a group dedicated to investigating rare Pokémon and ultimately locating the Mythical Pokémon Mew.

== Appearance == Danika is in her early twenties, standing at approximately 5'6" (167 cm) and weighing around 125 lbs (57 kg). She has blue eyes and turquoise hair styled into a long ponytail, secured with a spiky black hairband. Her outfit consists of an open blue and cream-colored jacket with black accents over a purple crop top shirt, which exposes her midriff and navel. She wears cream-colored shorts with purple undershorts beneath, a black fanny pack with an orange rope attached to the left side, black and purple kneepads, blue socks, and black boots with purple laces. She also sports black fingerless gloves with blue bands, reflecting her active and field-oriented role in Project Mew.

== Personality == Unlike her more stoic colleague Quillon, Danika is notably welcoming, warm, and encouraging, often expressing support for Goh and urging him to do his best. However, she also possesses a subtle, harsh streak, as demonstrated when she compelled Goh and Horace to battle each other to determine the winner of the Sea Mauville Trial Mission. In battle or dangerous situations, such as when dealing with Pokémon Hunters, her friendly posture is set aside in favor of calm confidence. She shows no hesitation in taking charge, making swift decisions, even choosing specific opponents for battle and immediately disqualifying Pokémon Hunters upon her arrival at a scene. Her confidence in her abilities reflects her experience and leadership within Project Mew.

== Role in the series == Danika plays a supporting but important role in the Project Mew storyline. She first appears contacting Gary Oak about a Moltres feather he had recently submitted to help further Project Mew's research. In return for the feather, she gifted Gary a token from the project for his work. She was then seen talking to Gary again before Ash and Goh headed to the lab where she resides for their first missions. She introduces Ash and Goh to the Project Mew ranking system, informing them on their first mission: capturing an Alolan Ninetales in the Crown Tundra. After Goh's success, she, alongside Professor Amaranth, congratulates him and begins monitoring his progress within the project.

Danika appears multiple times throughout the Project Mew Arc, helping coordinate missions and analyzing data related to Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. Though she does not participate in every expedition directly, her tactical insight and field experience are key assets to the team.

Project Mew's initiation process requires a challenger to complete an assigned mission within a set period to be allowed to participate as a Challenger. To continue, Trainers must pass various Trial Missions. A Trainer undertaking Trial Missions receives a list of three missions, divided by colors, and must choose only one to complete. Upon verified completion, the Trainer earns a special token on their Rotom Phone as proof. Challengers with the most tokens become Chasers, and those with fewer than four tokens are automatically disqualified during the selection process. During evaluations, Challengers can earn more tokens depending on their mission performance and by showcasing attributes like good leadership or teamwork. Items collected during Trial Missions are verified by a Corviknight, and some battle-oriented missions are recorded by a drone.

== Her Pokémon Team == Danika has been shown to use the following Pokémon in the series: Azumarill, Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style), and a male Jellicent.

Her team indicates a preference for Water-type Pokémon, with a balance of offense and utility to support her role in high-risk field operations.
