The first child of a demi-bear family, Dani enjoyed a relatively calm childhood. With a kind, loving mother who taught her that everyone, humans included, was unique and special. And a loving father, who disliked humans but remained silent about it out of love and respect for his wife.

Dani’s life was perfect until the age of five when her mother died while giving birth to a human child, who also did not survive. Her father grew distant and in his grief, took a job at a research lab where humans were used as experiments subjects and eventually became the CEO.

As Dani grew older, she developed a fascination with humans. She defended them, helped them, and even befriended some. Her father disapproved of that and in an attempt to change it, he began taking her to the lab, forcing her to watch the experiments and hoping to convince her that humans were nothing but dangerous monsters. Dani disagreed with his opinion yet remained quiet out of respect for him and the fear of disappointing her only family alive.
