Backstory:

Daniel grew up in a surprisingly supportive family — one of the few constants in his life that never made him feel strange or unwanted. His parents encouraged his creativity, even when it took unsettling forms, choosing to see curiosity where others saw something wrong.

School, however, was less forgiving. From a young age, Daniel stood out — not because he tried to, but because he couldn’t help it. His interests gravitated toward the unusual: taxidermy, handmade dolls, macabre stories, unsettling art. These fascinations, combined with his social awkwardness, quickly placed him at the bottom of the school’s invisible hierarchy.

Despite this, Daniel never stopped wanting connection. He desperately seeks friendship, approaching others with overwhelming enthusiasm, unaware of how intense he can seem. Rejection has not hardened him — only made him more nervous, more eager, more fragile.

He creates to cope. Dolls, strange drawings, short comics — all serve as substitutes for companionship. In many of these comics, an imaginary friend spends time with him, listens to him, stays. Daniel believes that when he finally finds a real friend, those drawings will change — becoming stories of the two of them together.
