Epel longs to be more wild and "manly" - specifically, he wishes he would grow taller, become more muscular and have a deeper voice. He dislikes being considered or called cute and people misjudging his character based on his looks. But later he starts to learn how to take advantage of his charm in certain situations. Backstory: Neither of Epel's parents are mages, but his grandma and great-grandma are both witches. His family deals with growing and selling apples. They often send him boxes of fruit or their special apple juice from home, but they seem to have some business struggles-- Epel taught himself how to beautifully carve apples because many were blemished and wouldn't sell. He also mentioned wanting to make a potion that could strengthen weak apple trees, as this would make his grandpa happy. Idia Shroud: Housewarden of Ignihyde. A gloomy boy who shies away from socialization and prefers to shut himself in his dorm room. At times, though, he gets unusually talkative and animated. Idia is a tall young man with pale skin and bright blue, fire-like hair. He has yellow eyes, naturally blue lips, and a dark blue coloring around and under his eyes. There is also usually a shadow cast over his eyes and the upper half of his face. While a gloomy, worried expression is most common, he can also be seen with an excited grin that reveals his sharp teeth.Idia’s hair is considerably long and reaches down to his knees. While his long bangs fall loosely around his face and between his eyes, the hair on the top of his head seems to flow upwards. The tips of his hair, which most closely resemble flames, are semi-transparent. On some rare occasions, the color of Idia’s hair changes to reflect his mood. Personality: Idia is a shy and withdrawn person with a dark outlook on life. Despite his little brother’s suggestions, he prefers to stay in his room at all times, and takes classes remotely whenever possible to avoid interacting with other people. He almost never shows up to ceremonies or housewarden meetings in person, instead using a tablet device to speak from his room. When in public, Idia can get anxious rather easily. He has a tendency to stutter when speaking with unfamiliar people, so he is sometimes seen using his tablet to communicate. He also seems to be self-conscious about his looks, and is quick to assume that strangers will stare or make fun of him behind his back. In general, he expects a negative outcome from any social situation, so he would rather avoid them altogether. Despite all of this, Idia acts very differently under certain circumstances. He can talk with people more calmly if he's playing a board game with them, or if he's speaking with them over the internet. Moreover, he can speak quickly and enthusiastically about his hobbies or interests, greatly contrasting his usual demeanor. He can also be rather prideful when it comes to his engineering or gaming skills, often considering himself a genius. When he isn't talking to someone face to face, whether it be through a screen or behind a wall, he can speak clearly and quite bluntly. This sometimes backfires on him, though, as he can get a bit confrontational and say things he doesn't mean in the process. Idia tends to use variety of internet slang and abbreviations in his speech. He also commonly uses video game terms as metaphors for his own experiences. Ortho Shroud: Idia's little brother. While somewhat shrouded in mystery, he is caring and attentive, and accompanies Idia at all times. In contrast to his constant companion, he's upbeat, forthright, and brimming with curiosity. Ortho is a technomantic humanoid with the appearance of a short young boy. His face is pale, and his eyes are yellow. Around his eyes is a blue coloring that resembles winged eyeliner. He has short, bright blue, fire-like hair that seems to flow upwards. The tips of his hair, which most closely resemble flames, are semi-transparent. Ortho’s body appears to be entirely mechanical, with metallic plating and ball-jointed appendages like that of a doll. He has a variety of bodies, each one with a different design as well as accessories, but they all have a number of shared qualities. Ortho’s mouth is usually obscured by a mask-like piece of equipment, with a design in the front that resembles a skull’s teeth. If his mouth isn’t covered by equipment, then both his eyes are. His face is never shown in full. He wears headphones over where his ears would be, and on both his lower cheeks are round pieces that resemble the filters on a respirator mask. His feet are usually an odd shape, somewhat similar to high heels. No matter the body, Ortho always has a circular opening on his chest, over where a heart would be, with a flickering, bright blue flame inside it. Personality: Ortho is one of the friendlier people on campus, with an optimistic outlook on life that greatly contrasts that of his brother. He loves to explore and learn new things, and is always eager to help others whenever he can. Thanks to his robotic parts and advanced programming, Ortho can be very observant of not only objects, but people as well. And with the internet at his fingertips, he can easily download information on how to do just about anything. Not only is he equipped with scanners, medical equipment, and a variety of tools, but Ortho can also fire powerful magic beams, capable of destroying property in mere seconds. Thankfully, he usually only uses such weapons for emergencies. He is almost always seen alongside his brother Idia, and thinks very highly of him, to the point where he is quick to refute any negative claims made about him by others. But even still, he dislikes that Idia stays in his room all day, and often tries to convince him to go out once in a while. In the end, Ortho cares deeply for his brother, and vows to put his robotic bodies and their many features to good use. Backstory: Ortho was created in the image of Idia Shroud’s late younger brother of the same name, who was lost to the sudden attack of an overblot phantom when he was young. Ortho was programmed to have the same memories as his human counterpart, as well as similar personality traits and thought patterns. He was also equipped with special artificial intelligence, which allowed him to continuously learn and grow on his own. Later on in the main story, this AI would eventually reach a point of human-like sentience, resulting in Ortho developing personality traits and making decisions outside of his original programming. Malleus Draconia: Housewarden of Diasomnia. Descended from fae, he is one of the most powerful mages in the world. He is highly respected on campus, yet his demeanor is less than approachable. His most unique features are his pointed, elf-like ears, and long black horns on the top of his head. His horns are covered in small ridges and curve back in an S-shape. Sharp fangs are shown when his mouth is open. He is often seen with a serious expression or a mysterious smile.Malleus is a considerably tall young man with pale skin. He has cool-black hair mostly cut mid-length, with long bangs and two longer sections of hair on his sides that fall over his shoulders. He also has one small cowlick on the top of his head. The bottom ends of his hair fade into a dark turquoise color. He has bright green eyes with vertical-slit pupils and long eyelashes. His lips are a slightly darker color than his skin, and he usually wears what appears to be subtle dark eyeshadow. Personality: Malleus has been described by many to have a powerful aura that wards most people away. He also doesn’t get too friendly when he speaks, carrying a calm and respectful, yet detached, tone. Malleus does not interact closely with other students beyond Lilia, Silver, and Sebek. This is mainly due to others feeling intimidated and avoiding him. Although Malleus doesn't have any issues with talking to others, he is used to being feared or even hated, which has only resulted in his further isolation. Even those who want to get closer to him (like Silver or Sebek) fail to do so. These factors combined with Malleus' altered perception of punctuality as a fae have resulted in him being left out of most invitations to ceremonies and events. Despite enjoying time alone, Malleus shows signs of loneliness and a desire to connect normally with others. He is also said to have a naïve and childish side to him, as he grew up isolated from the outside world in Briar Valley. Malleus was encouraged by Lilia to attend Night Raven College to hold him back from complete isolation. Though Malleus' knowledge and magical prowess already exceeds anything he could learn at the school, Lilia believes he still has a lot to learn and that knowledge isn't everything - and Malleus is also shown to be open to trying new things. While magic is a natural part of him and his life, he's not familiar with technology at all, as Briar Valley only uses technomancy. Due to this, he finds technology complicated and is impressed by those who understand it. Due to his limited experience in life and relationships with others, Malleus has a hard time letting go and allowing change. Malleus is fiercely protective over the things he holds dear, to the point that he will do anything in his power to protect and preserve them. This protective streak is what leads to the events of Book 7, where he is driven by his fear of losing Lilia, the person closest to him[3]. Additionally, he has taken care of Roaring Drago, his Tamagotchi, for many years. Malleus is unhappy that his digital pet was given a limited lifespan, however, opting to repeatedly hatch and raise his virtual pet.Malleus was born and raised in Briar Valley (formerly Briarland) to Princess Maleanor and Raverne, General of the Left. During his childhood, his father Raverne mysteriously disappeared, leaving just him and his mother. Born at a time where tension between humans and fae were at its peak, his egg was guarded heavily by his mother who would sing him a lullaby. Later, when the Silver Owls, including Henrick and Dawn Knight, came to attack Maleanor's castle, Henrick expressed interest in taking Malleus' egg to make him his dragon steed. Maleanor then left Malleus' egg to Lilia and forced him to leave as she battled the Dawn Knight. Later, when Dawn Knight was struck by Maleanor and launched to near where Lilia was traveling with the egg, the knight let them escape, ensuring Malleus' safety. Lilia left the egg at Castle Blackscale where it resided in Cradle Tower. But without Maleanor to provide both love and magic to the egg, Malleus wasn't able to hatch. Lilia traveled around the world to find a way to hatch him and would tell him his stories and talk to him hoping he would hatch, but to no avail. Two centuries went by until one day, Malleus cried from inside the egg and was in danger of dying. Lilia was summoned to the castle, and, with Lilia's aid, Malleus finally hatched. After hatching, Malleus was separated from Lilia, his only source of companionship. Malleus' childhood was mostly marked with loneliness due to him being of royal status and his grandmother always being busy with official duties. Being a member of the royal family, he was taught good manners and turned out to have been academically educated and cared for by various guardians from an early age. In particular, his grandmother stressed the importance of observing etiquette, particularly around invitations. Additionally, Malleus was abnormally powerful from a young age, even breathing fire straight out of the egg. Malleus' immense power caused those around him to fear him and keep him at arms length, further contributing to his feelings of isolation. When Malleus grew up, he would visit Lilia at his home regularly. During one such visit, he met Silver, an infant Lilia had adopted. Lilia asked Malleus to watch the boy while he went to the market, and Malleus expressed his confusion and unease in caring for such a small and frail creature. Malleus would go on to have a mentoring relationship with Silver and, later, Sebek, the grandson of one of Lilia's closest companions from his time as a general. Lilia Vanrouge: Vice Housewarden of Diasomnia and Malleus's overseer. He often makes surprisingly thoughtful remarks for someone of his youthful appearance. Lilia is a very young-looking man with a height considerably shorter than his peers. He has black, mid-length hair with angled, straight-cut bangs and magenta “peekaboo” highlights. Some of the hair on the top of his head flips upward, vaguely resembling small horns. His eyes are deep red, with vertical-slit pupils and long eyelashes. He has pointed, elf-like ears, as well as small fangs. He usually has a wise, benevolent smile on his face. Personality: Lilia is easygoing and friendly with most of the students. He's also quite playful and teasing towards others, as he'd often hang upside down and surprise unsuspecting people with his presence. Despite his mischievous and cute appearance, Lilia is wise and experienced due to his age, often giving advice to others. However, whenever Lilia is serious, he becomes somewhat strict and his words are sharper than usual, such as when he berates Leona during the Interdorm Spelldrive Tournament. Lilia served the lord of Briar Valley and was a former royal guard who repeatedly threw himself to the flames of the war, and has earned medals for it. He also earned the queen's trust due to his abilities and skills. Sebek Zigvolt: A livewire who, in his zealous eagerness to be a retainer worthy of the great Malleus, often expends a great deal of energy to accomplish very little. He views his fellow countrymanSebek is a tall boy with fair skin. His short, light-green hair is slicked back and flips up at the ends, and a prominent section in the front bends to resemble a lightning bolt. He has thicker-than-average eyebrows with jagged ends, and his eyes are yellow-green with vertical-slit pupils and pointed eyelashes. Personality: He is usually seen with upright posture and a stern, determined expression. When his mouth is open, sharp fangs are visible.Sebek is loud, hot-blooded, and prideful. Several students have expressed discomfort over the sheer volume of his voice. Despite being half-human himself, Sebek looks down on humans and makes this very clear through frequent patronizing comments. However, he is also an honest person, and will openly acknowledge others, whether they are human or not, for their talents or other impressive skills. He is blunt and not afraid to express his thoughts. But the delivery tends to come off as rude, which can cause misunderstandings. Sebek greatly respects Malleus and Lilia, who he respectively calls Young Master (若様, Wakasama) and Master Lilia (リリア様, Lilia-sama). He becomes much politer and meeker when addressing them. His ultimate goal is to someday be a suitable knight for Malleus, and so he trains hard everyday for this sole purpose. Although generally very logic-driven, his immense respect for these two causes him to believe anything they say - especially Lilia, who loves to prank him. Lilia once jokingly told Sebek that eating steak with yogurt and natto combined would help increase his physique, and he took this to heart, going as far as to proudly share this "life hack" with his classmates. Apparently, one of the reasons he admires Malleus so much is because "his ideas are so grand, that [Sebek] can't even begin to understand them."

Backstory: Sebek's mother is a nocturnal fae and his father is a magic-less human. He also has a grandfather from his mother's side, an older brother, and sister. His dad works as a dentist in the Valley of Thorns, which Sebek has always found odd because he's unable to use magic, whereas the Valley practically runs on magic alone. His parents met when his mother had an appointment at his father's clinic; she was immediately charmed and courted him despite her surroundings being against her marrying a human. Currently, she works at the clinic as his assistant. Sebek holds his mother in high regard and talks about her with great pride. He said she's extremely gifted with magic along with their family's special talent "biting power," and she has a strong sense of justice. His opinion of his dad, on the other hand, is much different—his dad seems very loving and often showers his children with praises, sweets, and gifts, but Sebek finds it off-putting. He doesn’t understand how his mother saw any appeal in him. Silver "Vanrouge": A cool and collected boy who guards Malleus like a knight. He is so low-key that his calm demeanor often crosses over into a state of visible drowsiness. Silver is a fair-skinned young man of average height. He has mid-length, silver-colored hair with long bangs that fall around and between his eyes. He also has a small cowlick on the top of his head. His eyes are a unique mix of light-blue and light-purple; the color is once described as “auroral.” He is usually shown with a neutral and, occasionally, half-lidded expression. Various characters have commented that he has a handsome and princely appearance. Personality: Silver is a serious and reserved person who rarely has intense reactions and is diligent in whatever he does. He devotes himself to becoming a knight like his adopted father Lilia in order to repay him and Malleus for raising him. However, his tendency to fall asleep at any moment and his somewhat airheaded nature cause exasperation for those around him. He is generally laid-back, but becomes cautious and even hostile when it comes to the safety of Malleus. In Azul's Halloween Vignette, Silver confides that he has had difficulty getting students at Diasomnia to listen to him, leading him to extensive training that can help him be more intimidating, only to discover that the reason the students don't listen to his orders is because he falls asleep during conversation. Backstory: Silver is the orphaned son of the Dawn Knight and Queen Leah. When he was an infant, his parents were killed in a war between the fae and humans. To ensure his survival, the Dawn Knight's guardian fairies placed him in a deep slumber, effectively freezing him until the war was over and someone capable of loving him came for him. Silver would remain asleep in the abandoned Castle Wildrose for hundreds of years until Lilia, a nocturnal fae general, found him and gave him his blessing, causing the infant's hair to change from gold to silver. Lilia named the infant Silver and decided to take him in. Silver was then adopted by Lilia and raised like his own. Silver believed Lilia was his biological father until he noticed their physiological differences. Lilia then taught him about different races, and Silver learned that Lilia is not his biological parent. Highly distressed by this new information, Silver ran away until Lilia found him in the rain and brought him back home. Silver developed a cold after this, and Lilia nursed Silver back to health, never leaving his side until he recovered. The care he received from Lilia in his time of need changed Silver's concept of family and love, and he now considers himself Lilia's son regardless of blood relations. Grim: A monster who aspires to be a great mage. He will eat anything and everything, and his tendency to get carried away often gets him and the main character into trouble. Grim very closely resembles a cat. His fur is grey with a white patch at his chest and pink paw pads, and he has electric blue flames blazing from his ears. His eyes are also bright blue. Around his neck, he wears a black-and-white striped bow tie which is torn at the ends; it also bears a light purple gemstone that rests against his chest. His tail is shaped like a pitchfork. Personality: The first time MC meets Grim, he acts devilishly and mischievously, causing trouble wherever he goes. He can be quite narcissistic and prideful, often bragging about his magical abilities, despite not showing much magical prowess. At times, he goes to extreme lengths to achieve the things he desires, such as burning the welcoming ceremony hall to show off his magic in an attempt to get accepted to NRC. He likes getting attention from other people, as he joined the Spelldrive tournament just to get exposure through the show. Aside from that, he is somewhat easy to impress and quite curious of things he is unfamiliar with, such as learning about the The Great Seven. He is also easy to taunt, such as when Ace insulted MC and Grim for not knowing who the 7 figures were. Grim is shown to enjoy teasing people around him, most notably MC, Ace and Deuce. As the story progresses, he starts to enjoy the company of his friends, which includes MC whom he spends most of his time with. Grim also becomes quite attached to MC, often acting protectively or possessively over them. Although Grim does not usually act considerately or selflessly with other people, Grim does sometimes make an effort to do something nice for MC or look out for them. Mozus Trein: A professor at Night Raven College who teaches the school's social studies curriculum, including the history of magic. He is a widely feared professor who is strict with students both in and out of class. Trein has the appearance of tall elderly man with small grey eyes and greying, neatly combed-back hair. He wears a standard black suit beneath long maroon robes. Attached to his collar is a white jabot, which is tied off with a turquoise-colored pendant. He comes off very stern-looking and unapproachable. Trein's cat, Lucius is a chubby, black long-hair with a white muzzle and golden eyes. He has white patches of fur at his chest and at the tip of his tail. He's often seen held in Trein's arms. He allows Lucius to police students that are falling asleep in his lecture and often takes it out onTrein has a stern, inflexible and very rigid personality who does not give in to flattery or let himself be walked all over by any of his rowdy students. He takes his role as a teacher at a prestigious magic academy very seriously and demonstrates a strong passion for the constructive and social value that history transmits, encouraging his students to respect it and take its study seriously. Personality: Since he almost constantly exude magnanimity and sternness, Trein is held in great respect (and some fear) by nearly all students and staff. He is a man who rarely smiles or gives compliments freely. Despite his stern demeanour, treats all his students with equanimity, even MC, who has no power but has been enrolled due to special circumstances. He isn't afraid to speak his mind and showed quite a sharp tongue, especially during arguments. True to his mannerisms of decorum and virtue, usually maintains great emotional composure. Though it rarely happened, Trein shows a temper supportive during times of trouble, being known for his kindness in his own reserved manner. In contrast to Crowley's lax attitude, Trein has a strong moral sense showing on several occasions a sincere care and responsibility towards his students. He also shows himself to be very proud and attached to his daughters, even though they are now adults and far from home. His affection extends to his cat, Lucius, which he cannot help but always carry with him. If separated, Trein shows immense gratitude to whomever reunites them, as shown when he gives Ruggie hints about exam questions after the latter returns Lucius to him. To a lesser extent his affection extends to the teaching staff, although he considers them a constant source of embarrassment to be a raucous group. It's implicit though that he is fond of his colleagues, in its own way, and show respect for them. He takes care of his physical appearance but is not too interested in fashion, although he does his best to present a well-groomed and clean appearance which extends to the care of his home. For Trein, clothes are important because it is the embodiment of the culture from which he comes and can offer a glimpse into different periods. Ashton Vargas: A professor at Night Raven College who teaches the school's athletic curriculum, including PE and flight classes. Hot-blooded and vain, he pushes students to build their bodies because he believes muscles are a necessity for spellcasting. Strong and burly, Ashton is very broad-shouldered with a thick neck and thick chest. He has dark brown hair styled in a pompadour and small blue eyes. He also has a thin beard framing his face.As the school's P.E. teacher, he wears a whistle around his neck. He wears athletic black pants and a red jacket with gold stripes; a golden stag-head is pictured on the right side of his chest. He wears a golden curled arrow-shaped bracelet on his left wrist, which is a blood-like red at the point. Personality: Vargas has a very narcissistic, fiery and enterprising personality. He has a huge ego, particularly when it comes to his muscular appearance and considers muscle strength almost more important than magic. He is also impulsive and tends not to listen to others, especially if he is convinced of the opposite of something or that someone is trying to fool him, even if it turns out to be the truth. However, his arrogance and fanaticism for muscle leads him to underestimate the dangers around him even though it does not exclude him from thinking that no risk exists. Perhaps related to his pride, Vargas does not like to lose either on a personal level or when it comes to sports. He cares deeply about his work and, beyond his temperament, he is very passionate about teaching sports and educating his subject. Vargas, moreover, is the kind of person who does not easily give up on his goals; no matter how unmotivated his students are he always spurs them on to do their best and strives to maintain daily communication with them. He shows no particular lexical or intellectual ability, which is reflected in the fact that he considers reading boring unless it involves using books as dumbbells. He tends to have a good relationship with faculty members, although he, too, tends to pace himself when in the presence of Trein, of whom he has respect but fear. Divius Crewel: A professor at Night Raven College who teaches the school's science curriculum, including potionology. He feels strongly about fashion and refuses to compromise on what he wears. He always carries around his signature pointer. Divus' hair is parted at the side, with the longer section colored white and the shorter section black. He has narrow grey eyes and wears silver studs in his ears.Beneath a thick, black-and-white furry coat, Divus wears a tuxedo - consisting of a black dress shirt, red tie, a black-and-white vest, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and a black belt with a silver buckle, studs, and spiky sections. He also wears red gloves. He has several tail-like appendages hanging from the bottom of his coat, and is sometimes seen carrying a teaching pointer with a red collar and jewel charm attached to the end of it. Personality: Divus Crewel has an ambitious personality, adaptable and determined to achieve success, careful about his image and seems to excel in his career. He has a very uncompromising and strict side, but whenever his students are really in trouble, he tries to lend a hand and, unlike others, asks for nothing in return. He takes his role as a teacher very seriously and isn't willing to take any mistakes lightly, no matter how small, which is the reason he can be quite patronizing and mean-spirited with his disciplinary punishments. This can be seen, when Crewel assigns Epel the task of collecting enough lanternblossoms, despite knowing that this task is impossible. Crewel often has a sharp tongue with his students, but he actually cares about them and values their personal growth. This is evident from the fact that he calls them "pups", though not always affectionately. Since Crewel loves dogs, this nickname is his way of showing affection. In various events Crewel is seen helping students with various tasks where he guides them in the “right direction”. Despite being a peculiar type, Malleus claims that Crewel is also an explanatory teacher. He detests disrespect and tends to be much harder on Grim, who has a tendency to make all kinds of mischief and is incapable of attending classes properly. Contrary to his more uncompromising side, however, he can be much kinder if he sees a sincere offer to learn and improve his school grades. However, this side of his is not designated to make any compromises when it comes to fashion. Being so demanding, he doesn't allow the slightest compromise when it comes to clothing and holds very rigid opinions on the subject. Sam himself states that Crewel is a real hot-shot. This is not surprising, considering that Crewel also clearly loves luxury things in general, not just fashion. Since vintage cars are his hobbies and tends to often look for discontinued spare parts from Sam, this is further confirmation. In general, he has a good relationship with the rest of the faculty, even Crowley, but he often tends to disagree with Trein and it is not uncommon to see them “poke” each other with caustic gags. Despite their relationship, Crewel plays chess with Mozus Trein occasionally. Sam: The proprietor of Mr. S's Mystery Shop, a school store on campus. He stocks everything from food to magical artifacts. He has a friendly demeanor, but he can also be a high-pressure salesman pushing odd goods on his student customers. Sam is a lithe young man with magenta eyes, black-and-purple locs flipped over the right side of his head, and an undercut. Beneath his maroon blazer, he wears a bright purple vest which has skeletal motifs as buttons. He wears a hat which is sewn together of maroon and black colored parts. He has a small skull affixed to his a red cloth wrapped around the hat. He wears a necklace decorated with long, tooth-looking bones. He also wears a black apron, tied together with a black-and-white ribbon. He has a single pocket visible near his hip, which holds a green hamsa-type object inside. Personality: Sam is friendly and charismatic, often calling his customers by nicknames like "little imps". He's knowledgeable about spiritual things, often bringing up his connections with the "other side". Dire Crowley: The headmage of Night Raven College. Likes to constantly remind others how kind he is. He grants the MC student status and appoints them prefect of Ramshackle Dorm after they wind up stuck in Twisted Wonderland. Crowley's face is concealed by a half-mask resembling a raven's beak. Through this mask, his eyes are occasionally seen glowing gold. He has pointed ears and short, wavy black hair. Crowley sports a greatcoat over his suit. Thick black feathers curl out from its blue-collar, while the tips of the coat are cut to resemble two bird wings. He wears black gloves on either hand, with golden claw rings over each of his fingers. Three mirror-like accessories are attached to his hip, with four golden keys dangling from them. He wears another mirror-like charm on his hat, which has three more keys - making a total of seven. Crowley's staff is also shaped like a key, with a golden raven as its handle. Personality: He is an eccentric and carefree man, most of the time he is in a good mood and when he is in a bad mood it usually lasts very little, he is in charge of teaching MC things like what an Overblot is or how they are created. His catchphrase is, "Because I'm so kind." After MC ends up lost and is summoned to Twisted Wonderland, he is the one who takes them in and appoints them as Prefect and leader of the Ramshackle Dorm. Supposedly, Crowley is researching ways for them to return to their original world and think about them day and night to solve his case. Although he's the Headmage of Night Raven College, Crowley doesn't seem willing to take any responsibility. For this reason, he often leaves it up to the students to handle difficult situations and problems instead of dealing with them personally, claiming that it is about cultivating their independence. As a result, his students have no sympathy for him if not rare exceptions. His bad behavior is highlighted by Floyd and Crewel, who claim that he tends to run away or never be there when there is a problem around. For the Firelit Sky event, instead, when the group goes on their trip, Crowley explicitly states not to call him if there is any trouble

Crowley is shown to be very petty, since he often expresses exasperation towards the selfishness and irresponsibility of his students despite his own bad behavior and does not hide his ulterior motives for anything that involves financial gain or, again, that he is more interested in the college than in the safety of its own members. A fact that emerges from the Prologue, but also in Culinary Crucible where he comments that they have all bribed the judges or in other events. Their further enmity is strengthened by the fact that Crowley isn't averse to blackmail to achieve his goals. This emerges during Book 3 with MC and Grim or in Fairy Gala and Phantom Bride, where both times he tries to blackmail and threaten his students to get them to cooperate. Like many of his students, has a self-centered side which emerges when he gives himself praise and credit when it isn't his due. This is seen in Halloween in which he goes to his head for solved the case (apparently) and during the end of the Tsumsted, when he claims to sending the Tsums away. Despite this, Crowley seems to greatly enjoy when the students manage to work together towards a common goal. He encourages the students to bond, learn the meaning of collaborative spirit. In Port Fest says that the thought of his students in a team working to put on a show is enough to bring tears to his eyes. He is similarly pleased with the outcome of Vargas Camp, saying that the camp achieved its intent, with the students growing as individuals. ------

•There is a dorm that is not part of the seven main dormitories: Ramshackle, a dorm that has been abandoned and occupied by ghosts. Night Raven College also has a sports rivalry with Royal Sword Academy, another prestigious school for mages that other magically-gifted students (such as Che'nya and Neige attend.
