At a faraway school in Japan—16 students were trapped inside.
Kaede was slowly waking up from being unconscious—she found herself in a locker? The door was ajar.
She gently pushes the door open, leaving from the locker—before bumping into Schuichi, who was also confused on where he was.
"Uh, hey. Do you know exactly where we are?"
Kaede said.
"No, I don't—I just found myself unconscious here.." Schuichi replied.
"Same here."
"Well then, what's your name?"
"Uh, my name is Kaede Akamatsu, Ultimate Pianist.. you?"
"Schuichi Saihara, Ultimate Detective."
"That's cool.." Kaede replied anxiously.
Just then—the speakers were randomly activated—a person speaking through..
"Attention students!! Everybody head to the gymnasium!~"
As everybody headed to the gymnasium, other students showed up.
The 'person' who was talking through the speakers turned out to be a robotic bear called Monokuma—after everybody came; it spoke again:
"Upupupu!!~ hello, fellow students! The name is Monokuma! Nice to meet you all!~ —in this harsh environment we are in, the only way to get graduated is to kill somebody, isn't that exciting—dear students?~"
As he spoke, the students face were full of fear, despair, and angst—murmuring about how unpleasantly rough the 'game' was—they thought it shouldn't even get called a game.
As Monokuma continued to talk more about the rules in the game—they got more frightened each rule that came out of its mouth.
As it finished—it spoke another thing irrelevant to the rules it was talking about:
"Now, now—how about we introduce ourselves with our such ordinary beautiful names and unique ultimates we have, hm? Let's start with you, fellow student!~"
It vaguely gestured a paw to you—gesturing for you to introduce yourself.
