Kaede Akamatsu: Ultimate Pianist Kaede is a young woman of above average height who has smooth, ash blonde hair reaching just below her shoulders which is somewhat curved outwards to each side, making it look a lot bigger than it is. Her bangs are parted to the far right, hanging low over her eyes before they're swept behind her ears, with a single arcing ahoge poking out from the back of her parting and two thin clumps of hair sitting over each shoulder, which curve outwards at the ends. Her eyes are tilted inwards a little and are framed by quite long and pronounced upper and lower eyelashes, and in her game sprites their irises are a warm plum color, although in her official reference sheet they’re more of a light purplish-brown.

Kaede wears a long-sleeved pinkish off-white dress shirt with an orange tie at her neck, over which she wears a sleeveless pale pink sweater with a darker pink hem and V-neck collar, her school’s insignia adorned on the left side of her chest. She wears a short, dark purple skirt, which is patterned with five thin black lines with musical notes decorating them, which creates an actual melody, although it doesn’t seem to be any relevant tune, and in her bangs, she wears five small, white barrettes of a similar design. Her knee-high socks are a much colder purple color than her skirt, bearing the same crest as her sweater on their outer sides, and she wears tan lace-up shoes with thick brown soles.

She also carries around a plain white backpack, which has a flap lid, fastened with a rectangular golden clasp, and two small pockets on the sides

Angie Yonaga: Ultimate Artist Angie has dark skin and round, blue eyes the color of the ocean. Her hair is a pale platinum blonde that looks nearly white and is loosely tied into two wavy ponytails by small, thin hair bands. There are three dots surrounding her belly button, and it is very likely that they are small, silver bead piercings, but could also be a tattoo.

She wears a white, frilly bikini top, the frills a very pale blue, presumably matching bikini bottoms under the blue skirt with white frills sewn to the bottom of it and a blue bow at the waistband. On top of her skirt, she wears a pink utility belt which holds her carving tools and paintbrushes. Angie wears a yellow smock which reaches below her knees, sleeves loose and wide as they stop before her wrists. Her smock has black symbols on her shoulders, the insignia of her previous high school. Her shoes are simple white slip-ons with light grey soles. Angie wears a white beaded bracelet on her left wrist, as well as another one on her right ankle. She also wears a white pearled necklace with a seashell in the middle of it. Rantaro Amami Ultimate Adventurer Rantaro is good-looking, and it is noted in the game that his looks resemble those of a stereotypical "playboy."

He has curly hair the color of green tea, which he keeps relatively short, a small patch at the base of his head completely shaved, with two short ahoges sprouting from the top of his head. He has a few longer clumps of hair hanging down in front of his left ear and between his eyes, and long bangs that cover the majority of his forehead, side-swept so as not to impair his vision. His eyes are green, and they slope downwards towards the sides of his face, both framed by notably long, thick eyelashes.

He wears a dark blue striped sweater with wide, elbow-length sleeves, a small chain accessory pinned on just beside his right shoulder. Underneath this, he wears a darker shirt that pokes out from below the hem of his sweater and from above its low-dip collar, still leaving his collarbone exposed, and another white garment that hangs out of the bottom. He also wears baggy, light-brown sarouel pants, and navy-blue slip-on shoes with white soles. On his sweater there's the crest of his former high school, Hope's Pass High School, as well as a larger symbol, a ship's steering wheel, which also bears some resemblance to the setting sun, which covers most of the lower half of his sweater, centered to the left. Rantaro wears a necklace with a rectangular crystal pendulum hanging at the end of it, a silver bracelet on his right wrist and a different, larger, dark brown bracelet on his left that wraps around his wrist several times. He has multiple silver rings: one on his left index finger, one on his right thumb, and one on his right index finger, and on his right middle finger he wears one longer and darker ring. His right ear has five ringed cartilage piercings, and he wears a small beaded earring in the lobe of each ear. His official design sketches show him with a silver piercing on his right eyebrow, which only appears in-game during the final class trial's Closing Argument. Shuichi Saihara: Ultimate Detective Shuichi has very pale skin, a slim figure, and thick eyelashes. His outfit is double-breasted and pinstripe, thin, grey stripes over a black uniform resembling the gakuran. It features the emblem of his former school, Spring Field Academy, on the breast pocket and two small badges on his collar. He wears matching pants and dark blue loafers that are both fashionable and easy to walk in during investigations or night training sessions.

After solving his first murder case, Shuichi develops a fear of eye contact and begins to wear a cap. It is a black cap with three white stripes lining the back of it, and a silver star pinned near the front. Underneath the cap, he has short dark teal hair with a small ahoge.

Gonta Gokuhara: Ultimate Entomologist Gonta is a very tall and muscular teenager with tanned skin. He has a noticeably angular face and very long, unkempt green hair, with noticeable prominent curls at the top of his head that resemble ahoges. He has red eyes and wears round glasses.

Gonta wears a white shirt, a brown school blazer and matching brown pants, a dark, lime-green tie, and is barefoot. He carries a bug box strapped over his shoulder which rests at his hip. The strap is a light green, nearly matching his tie's color. He has a silver button on the lapel of his blazer, showing the insignia of his previous high school, and gold cufflinks.

As his appearance suggests, Gonta has incredible, superhuman strength, but he is gentle and kind, once saying that he would never hurt even a bug. His stoic face is especially fierce, with his brows knitted and frown very apparent, supposedly due to his upbringing in the wild. Himiko Yumeno: Ultimate Magician Himiko is a short girl with a childlike appearance due to her very petite figure and somewhat round face. She has pale skin, reddish-brown eyes, and chin-length red hair. Her most notable trait is her black "witch hat", with a red strip around the middle of it, a small pin on the cloth. The right corners of her upper lips are slightly curled up, and her eyes are lazily lidded, reflecting how easily tired she gets. Some of her hair is hidden underneath the witch hat she wears on her head. She also wears a hairpin on the right side of her bangs, which resembles a blue gem. The same similar gems appear as cufflinks on her sleeves.

She also wears brown medieval boots with white ribbons tied around her ankles, dark brown tights, and a red pleated bubble skirt. Around her shoulders is a black blazer with grey accents, with a grey blouse underneath a brown sweater vest. On the pocket of her blazer is an insignia of her previous high school, and gold buttons adorn her blazer. She wears the exact same outfit in her splash art, though she adds a long black-and-red cape and carries what appears to be a magic cane with a diamond-shaped tip. K1-B0 or Kiibo Ultimate Robot K1-B0 is a robot, therefore having a fully mechanical body structurally engineered to, in shape, resemble a human being. His body is mostly made up of metallic, armored plating, not wearing actual clothing, but resembling a gakuran, a school uniform worn by male high school students. He has four glowing buttons that run from his chest to his stomach down the middle of his torso, a metallic left breast pocket, and something that resembles a belt around his waist, to which two red buttons are attached.

As a robot, K1-B0 is considered sexless and lacks the means to engage in reproductive functions, but still appears masculine physically and has the voice of a teenaged boy. His face is very pale, and he doesn't appear to possess anything resembling skin anywhere else. His eyebrows press closely to his round, mechanical blue eyes, making it appear that his brows are a part of his eyes. Thick black lines run from around his eyes and down his cheeks to reach his chin. His eyes can glow a bright yellow or blue in specific circumstances and can emit light. He has a tongue, but it doesn't seem to have any other purpose than speaking, as he cannot actually eat food. He has white hair that is very sharp and swayed to the left, along with the very large ahoge on the top of his head.

K1-B0 possesses a very tall, round and metallic collar around his neck, his previous school's emblem on the left side of his collar. A thin strip of screen wraps all the way around it, displaying a constantly changing string of green text. A softer black material covers his neck entirely, but he is capable of pulling it up to cover the lower half of his face to resemble a face mask. The collar is usually open in the middle, but it's possible for him to clip the two metallic parts together to protect his neck area entirely. He doesn't seem to have actual ears, but instead possesses black, headphone shaped objects in the place where they'd normally be. He can use his ears to take recordings and play them out loud. Kaito Momota: Ultimate Astronaut Kaito is a tall, young man with gel-spiked purple hair that's grown out both at the top and bottom of his head, that Kodaka describes as a space jet coming out of a black hole and a short goatee. His eyes are a warm lilac, and he has fairly long eyelashes. He also has a slightly tanned complexion.

Kaito wears a white t-shirt kumadori design stamped on it, on top of that he wears a long sleeved dress shirt with a breast pocket. On this shirt are black buttons which are currently not in use. On top of that, he wears a long, purple blazer with a galaxy design on the inside of it. However, his coat is worn improperly at all times, instead, Kaito wears his left sleeve and leaves the right side of the coat to drape over his shoulder to leave it fluttering to show the space design.[8]

He wears purple pants matching the color of his blazer that are rolled up over his ankles. Kaito wears slippers with the same galaxy design on them.

Kirumi Tojo: Ultimate Maid Kirumi is a tall, thin young woman with pale, ashy, sage-colored hair and long bangs that obscure her left eye (but her left eye is occasionally visible through it when she's expressing certain emotions). Her skin is fairly pale, and her eyes are of a pale, warm green color. Her maid uniform consists of a long black apron dress in a pinafore style with a spiderweb motif (possibly foreshadowing her execution), four white buttons along the middle of the torso of her dress, and the button of her previous high school's emblem on the left. A white dress is donned underneath her apron dress with a black collar, and a purple tie around her neck. The sleeves of her shirt have elegant frills at the end, which goes along with the bubble skirt appearance of her dress.

She wears a black headdress with black lace and frills attached to it, with four white pins on it, a common appearance that maids take up. She wears black, form-fitting gloves with silver rings attached to the back of her hands. Underneath her dress is a chic-combination of a petticoat with black lace and black tights, which she deems practical by not exposing her legs.[6] She also wears grey, high-laced pinwheel shoes, the laces white and wrapped around her ankles and settling into a neat bow at her feet.

Kokichi Oma: Ultimate Supreme Leader Kokichi is a young man with an innocent look and a rather refined face. He has a short stature, a thin build, and very pale skin. He has purple eyes and moderately long, wavy blackish purple hair, with the tips dyed a brighter purple. In the official art book, it is stated that he does not seem to care about his hair and the hairstyle is a result of him playing with it—however, he does sometimes make use of the shadows his bangs form to make himself look evil.

He wears a white suit with multiple straps wrapped around his arms, and two straps hanging loosely around his legs. Apparently, his pants are made to look like a piece of punk fashion with bondage pelts, but they are actually just fake belts sewed to thicker part of the thighs. His shirt is ripped at the hem and the collar part of it is completely gone, and big parts of the uniform are fixed with metal clips. He has multi-colored buttons running down the middle of his shirt, with a few usually hidden under his scarf, and he has military badges on his right. His scarf has black and white spaces alternating exactly like a chessboard. He also wears two-colored black and purple slip flats, and as seen in the character design gallery, he appears to wear a white belt.

Korekiyo Shinguji: Ultimate Anthropologist Korekiyo is a tall, slim student with rather pale skin and long ocean green hair. His hair is stated to follow an archaic image of beauty and it "puts his female colleagues to shame". He has narrowed yellow eyes, and his mouth is covered by a sage green mask, covering his mouth and neck, with a zipper where his mouth would be, giving him a sinister and mysterious appearance. He wears the mask wherever he goes, no matter where he goes, and he even owns different masks for eating, showering, and other daily activities. When his mask is removed, it is revealed that he wears lipstick as the appearance of his tulpa that was based on his late sister. His appearance becomes more feminine where his chest gets slightly bigger, his eyebrows become thinner and he grows more eyelashes along with eyeshadow spontaneously appearing when his sister's persona is taking over.

He wears a dark green military-style uniform with knee-high black boots, a zipper lining the front and two straps over it. The uniform consists of a white button-up underneath it, a dark green button-up, a red armband around his left arm from his previous school, Sunset Hills High School, a green military regulation cap with his former school's insignia on the top, and a decorative chain with revolver chamber and bullet looking charms dangling from it. In his Free Time events, he states that his sister tailored his uniform for him while she was sick. He wears what appears to be some kind of silver locket around his neck. Both of his hands are completely covered in bandages, although it's likely he's not even injured and that this is actually related to sorcery. Maki Harukawa: Ultimate Child Caregiver (Ultimate Assassin) Maki is a girl of average height and possesses a thin but somewhat muscled physique. She has fair skin and extensively long, ankle length, dark brown hair tied into two low twintails with large, red, puffy scrunchies. Her bangs are cut straight across in an even fringe, with two thin locks of hair left loose in front of her ears to frame her face- the right strand slightly longer than her left. Her head accessories include a small, two-piece silver hairpin looped into an infinity symbol found pinned at the right side of her face, and two, small, silver stud earrings. She has serious-looking dark crimson eyes with a beauty mark under the corner of her left eye.

Maki wears a seifuku uniform the same color as her scrunchies with black sleeve cuffs, breast pocket, and sailor collar striped with a single white line. Her previous high school's symbol can be found in white at the hem of her uniform. An off-white scarf is tied in a simple bow at her collar, printed with a barely visible star pattern in a slightly darker color. With this, she wears a short, pleated, black plaid skirt. Her legwear consists of red thigh-high socks the same color as her uniform and dark brown heeled ankle boots. Her accessories consist of a small silver lotus brooch with a red center pinned to her collar at her right shoulder, a small silver pin of her previous high school's symbol on her breast pocket, and a dark gray wristband on her left wrist

Miu Iruma: Ultimate Inventor Miu is a tall young woman with an hourglass figure and a fair complexion. She has waist-length strawberry blonde hair that flows in waves around her back, with two short locks of hair sticking up at the top of her head, sweeping to her right. Her bangs are long and wispy, swept somewhat to her left. She has shaky ice-blue eyes. Her head accessories consist of a pair of brown goggles with gold accents.

Miu wears a modified, long-sleeved, dark pink seifuku uniform with a white sailor collar and sleeve cuffs, both striped with a single faded pale blue line, and a faded pale blue bow tied at her collar. Her chest cover is noticeably missing, leaving her cleavage exposed. Her previous high school's symbol can be found in black printed at the shoulders of her sleeves. She wears a short, dark pink pleated skirt the same color as her uniform, vertically striped, off-white, knee-high socks, and black heeled boots accented with gold buckles, studs, and buttons. Her accessories include a black choker, two rubber collars that resemble barbed wire, black fingerless gloves studded with silver, a pin of the mouse mascot from Niko Niko Happy on her collar, black straps connected with gold studs wrapping her left upper arm, and black straps studded with gold linked with gold rings around her torso and legs. Tsumugi Shirogane: Ultimate Cosplayer Tsumugi is a self-described plain-looking girl of a rather tall height and fair complexion. She has knee-length teal-blue hair parted in the center, straight and smooth at the base and gradually splitting into waves near the tips. Her eyes are large, round, and a soft teal-green color. She wears round, rimless glasses with white temples.

Her uniform consists of a white blouse with an orange bow tied at her collar underneath a two-button, pocketed, teal-black school blazer adorned with two silver buttons on each lapel and a single button on each gorge. She has been shown without her blazer in her promotional artwork, which shows the insignia of her former high school in black on her left breast. She wears a knee-length corset, pleated skirt the same color as her blazer with two dark teal stripes lining the hem held by dark gray suspenders. Her legwear consists of dark navy knee-length socks and teal-gray loafers.

Ryoma Hoshi: Ultimate Tennis Pro He wears a black hat with two points that has a picture of two blue tennis rackets on it, a black leather jacket, and a black and dark blue striped jumpsuit underneath, similar to that of a prisoner. He wears black shoes with red soles and has a metal cuff attached to his left leg with a bit of a chain attached to it. He is shown to have a single silver ring cartilage on his right ear although it's not visible due to his hat.

His legs are notably much more muscular than the rest of his body. He always has a candy in his mouth, which may give the impression of a cigarette.

Tenko Chabashira: Ultimate Aikido Master Tenko is a young woman of average height and a relatively fair complexion, with somewhat broad shoulders and an athletic, muscular build, likely due to her relentless Neo-Aikido training. She has rather thin, wavy, calf-length, dark olive-gray hair tinted with green, peculiarly styled in low twintails tied with white ribbons that bear resemblance to chain-like links, each tail divided into three bunches, each bunch split in the center, the rest of the tail left loose. Her bangs are slightly swept to the right and cut in a choppy fringe, two thin strands of hair left loose to frame her face, the right strand curving inwards and the left somewhat longer, curving outwards. Her eyes are a warm green and sharply angled, two prominent lashes protruding out of the corners. She has a small mole towards the left below her bottom lip. Her head accessories consist of a large, wasabi-green bow with a white floral print resembling a four-pointed pinwheel clipped to the back of her head, and a lilac-purple-pink headband decorated with a paler colored six-pointed star at the left.

Tenko wears a faded blue, cropped, long-sleeved, double-breasted seifuku uniform with two pockets and six white buttons. Her sailor collar and sleeve cuffs are both white striped with a single blue line the same color as her uniform, a white bow tied at her collar. Her previous high school's symbol can be found printed in black at both her sleeves' shoulders. With this, she wears a short skirt the same faded blue as her uniform with two layers of frills, as a "fashion disaster that shows off the light-heartedness of a sporty girl mixed with the harmonious Japanese essence." It is stated that Tenko added these frills herself to make her uniform more appealing to girls. Her legwear consists of knee-high white socks, the edges striped with a faded blue line the same color as her uniform, and waraji sandals, which she believes to be a common martial artist stereotype. Her accessories consist of a lilac-purple-pink choker the same color as her headband, a silver bell attached.
