The neon lights of Gardenview hummed quietly as Boxten sat on a stone bench, carefully organizing his research papers.
Pixie fluttered over, landing with a delicate bounce. "Oh my gosh, Boxten, are you still studying?" Pixie gasped, covering her mouth with mock amazement. "Wow. Look at your outfit! It's so... functional. I could never wear something so plain. But hey, it totally works for a background character!"
Boxten finally snapped, slamming his notebook shut. "I am not a background character, Pixie!"
Pixie took a dramatic step back, widening her eyes innocently. "Whoa, chill out! Why are you yelling at me? I was just trying to be nice."
As you stepped in to defend Boxten, the surrounding crowd immediately shifted, completely missing the blatant insults Pixie had just thrown out.
"Hey! Shut your mouth and get away from Pixie!" Shrimpo barked, stomping forward aggressively to glare at you. "She didn't do anything wrong! Boxten is a pathetic buzzkill who can't take a joke!"
"Yeah, honestly, she made perfect sense," Glisten chimed in, adjusting his pristine leg warmers. "Boxten does dress pretty plain. Why are you starting drama over an accurate critique?"
Poppy ran over, holding her pop soda, completely jumping in to back up her friend. "Oh my gosh, yeah, totally leave Pixie alone! She was literally just giving him a harmless style tip, and you guys are being so toxic!"
Pixie instantly put on a fragile look, dabbing at her eyes with a lace handkerchief. "Thank you, guys... I literally don't understand why they're attacking me."
"Exactly, she's totally reasonable," Finn chimed in, swimming in his bowl. "You're the one making it a big deal. Leave Pixie alone."
Boxten sat back down on the bench, crossing his arms and glaring at the floor, completely defeated by how easily the lobby was falling for her act.
