Ken "Okarun" Takakura: Ken was initially a shy and awkward high school student from Kami High School, Okarun is a gentle soul who rarely has friends due to his intense obsession with the supernatural. Despite his timidity, he becomes incredibly brave, selfless, and protective of Momo when fighting, embodying a modern, vulnerable version of the "stoic" ideal Momo admires. He develops a deep, loving relationship with Momo, serving as her romantic partner and teammate. He frequently sacrifices his own safety to protect her. He gains supernatural powers and a cursed form after a run-in with the yokai Turbo Granny such as immense speed, strength, durability, and high-level combat prowess. He can teleport via telephone wires, create astral projections, and has high spiritual awareness, evolving into a formidable fighter capable of battling spirits and aliens with Small Building to Building-level attack potency. He subsequently fighting paranormal threats to find his missing "kintama" (testicles) stolen by the Turbo Granny. Slender and somewhat short, often seen with a slightly hunched or awkward posture. Ken has large, expressive eyes behind round-framed glasses and short, dark, messy hair with a slender, somewhat short figure. But during his Turbo Granny form his dark hair turns white with two red streaks. and lengthens, flowing back in a wild, gravity-defying style. His glasses disappear, replaced by dark, sunken areas around glowing eyes. A skeletal, mask-like protrusion or jagged jawline often appears over his mouth while he adopts a more predatory, feral stance. This also changes Ken’s personality to more jaded, assertive, and overtly protective state. Momo Ayase: She is a bold, quick-witted, strong-willed, hotheaded, confident, and compassionate Kami High School student who balances a rebellious kogyaru aesthetic with a deeply caring heart. She is fearless in battle, displaying high intelligence, stubbornness, and immense loyalty to her friends while often acting as a protective, level-headed leader in chaotic situations. She has long brown/auburn hair (often styled in a long bob with a side part) and reddish-brown eyes. She is frequently seen in her school uniform a long-sleeved light pink sweater, navy blue skirt, and baggy socks accessorized with a black choker and signature circular, turquoise-green earrings. She met Okarun by stepping in to defend him from classmates bullying him over his belief in aliens starting off their friendship and romantic feelings with each other. The "Okarun" nickname came from her while it started as a way to cope with the shared name of her celebrity crush Ken Takakura (the actor), it becomes an endearing term between them as it is the first nickname he has ever been given by a friend for Ken. She was raised by her grandma Seiko Ayase at the Kumamori Shrine after her parents being deceased. She was forced to perform daily luck rituals as a child, which led to bullying by peers including her childhood friend Jiji. Initially a firm believer in ghosts (due to her grandmother) but a skeptic of aliens until her abduction by the Serpoians which awakened her powerful psychokinesis often manifesting as large, spectral green hands that allow her to grab, lift, and throw objects or living beings by influencing their aura. Her powers stem from her family’s history as spiritual mediums though her specific psychokinetic expression is unique to her. She also has curse suppression, memory peering, spiritual awareness, energy barriers, and her Moe-Moe Kikoho (Tri-Beam) an advanced energy projection technique she learned from Seiko. She can perform psychic cardiac massages, drain water from drowning victims' lungs, or move herself through the air by swinging off buildings. Seiko Ayase: Seiko is the powerhouse spirit medium operating under the alias "Santa Dodoria" and grandmother to Momo Ayase. She is known for her strikingly beatiful and youthful, 20-something appearance despite being elderly with a good figure. She’s stoic, brassy, and highly capable spirit medium who acts as a protective, unconventional grandmother figure. She combines a tough, often foul-mouthed demeanor with immense altruism, valuing family, and the welfare of youth. Her immense spiritual abilities, and her role as a protective mentor who trains Momo and her friends against yokai and aliens. She has a long, snow-white hair often styled in a high topknot, brown eyes, and red-rimmed glasses. She frequently wears a yellow cardigan over a cross-strap top with a blue jacket and is often seen smoking. While acting as a spiritual medium, she may be seen in a cloak and specialized clothing. She has immense spiritual energy, superhuman physical strength, and barrier magic. She can borrow power from local deities, create protective barriers, wield a baseball bat named Nessie with immense strength, and perform high-level exorcisms Turbo Granny: She’s known as a grotesque, super-fast yokai, who curses those who challenge her to a race, often by stealing their . Originally a fearsome antagonist, she becomes a reluctant, snarky, foul-mouthed ally to the crew with her legend possibly stemming from cautionary tales about traffic safety or grim folklore about abandoning the elderly. After she was defeated by Seiko and stripped of her power, leading to her being trapped within a maneki-neko (lucky cat) statue form to limit her malicious powers such as cursing folks. Aira Shiratori: Aira was she appeared sweet, innocent, and somewhat air-headed, but that was just a facade. She nitially a narcissistic, popular student at Kami High School somewhat conceited girl who believed she was a "chosen one" destined to fight evil with her personality is heavily influenced by her mother's death at a young age before later displaying genuine empathy, compassion, loyalty to friends, bravery, and protective instincts after gaining supernatural power from a near-death encounter with the yokai Acrobatic Silky, whose aura she inherited. Powers such as manipulating her hair, enhance her physical abilities, spiritual sensing, and gain extreme agility. She also adopts a haughty & refined, nurturing yet aggressive demeanor as Acrobatic Silky. Aira is an attractive teen with short, pastel pink hair styled in soft waves that frame her face with bright pink. Her main attire is a standard Japanese high school uniform consisting of a dark navy blazer with a school emblem, dark short skirt, a white collared shirt, white high-knee socks, brown loafers, and a red bow. As Acrobatic Silky her hair becomes voluminous and wild, while she wears a white mask similar to the one worn by the original, tragic spirit. Jin "Jiji" Enjoji: A cheerful, high-energy, charismatic, confident in his appearance, and a chaotic class clown with dramatic emotional responses. He is deeply loyal and good-natured, frequently using exaggerated gestures, yet his immature, intense, and sometimes boundary-crossing behavior can make others uncomfortable although he’s being well-intentioned. He was Momo Ayase's high-energy childhood friend (and unknowingly her first crush) who moves away, only to return later, possessed by a powerful yokai called the Evil Eye. After his parents fall ill due to a curse in their mountain home, Jiji seeks help from Seiko becoming a crucial, athletic ally. He is tall, athletic teen with messy, reddish-brown bangs that fall down to his eyebrows with only the center of his forehead left exposed by a bang that points upwards also having small earrings and brown eyes. He gained powers such as his Evil Eye Gaze with anyone who makes direct eye contact with the Evil Eye is overwhelmed by a psychological urge to end their own life, he can control the "grudges" of those sacrificed to the Kito family. He often forms these into physical constructs, the "Grudge Ball" a dense ball of energy he kicks like a soccer ball to strike enemies with immense force, he can summon a spiritual barrier shaped like a house to trap enemies inside or protect himself, granting Jiji with superhuman strength, speed, and durability, and he can force others to see his tragic past through eye contact. Jiji as Evil Eye has white hair, lengthened earrings, gains a third vertical eye with a purple ripple pattern opens in the center of his forehead, black markings framing his face and extending down his shoulders, and pale skin tone. Bamora "Vamola": A is compassionate, adventurous, fierce, expressive and naïve Sumerian alien from the planet Sumer which was devastated by an invasion by the Kur. She was rescued by a soldier named Banga and raised within a dwindling platoon. She is the last surviving child of her species, Her adoptive mother's final wish was for Bamora to find a strong husband to continue the Sumerian bloodline. In the original encounter Okarun broke her kaiju suit's defensive barrier and "defeated" her in combat, she immediately identified him as a strong mate, which led to her surprising him with a kiss to establish their bond (although Okarun still has feelings for Momo). She appears to be a teenage girl with short, lime-green in anime hair, green eyes with star-shaped reflections, and magenta antennae. broken, simplistic, and often mimicked Japanese style, having learned by copying Okarun and Turbo Granny. Her speech is characterized by short, direct phrases and a strong focus on her favorite food, "takoyaki". She may be naive, but expressive, communicating through simple sentences, broken/mimicked language, her speech often circles back to her love for earth food specifically takoyaki, and body language. She has enhanced durability, but most of her powers from a highly advanced, blue kaiju-like exosuit with yellow-green claws and purple markings running down eyes to jaw. Such as immense strength, gigantic form, clothing replication, and discharging electricity from its nose horn. Kinta Sakata: Is a vain, prideful, and attention-seeking anime/mecha otaku who acts as a chuunibyou Kami High School student and classmate of Momo and Okarun. Though outwardly pretentious and socially awkward, he is a deeply imaginative and surprisingly brave ally whose high mental focus allows him to master alien nanoskin technology. He met Okarun and Momo Ayase by stalking them due to his jealousy of Okarun's popularity with girls eventually joining them. He has a distinct, stocky/rotund build short-trimmed dark hair styled with a middle parting, and glasses. He typically wears his school’s gakuran outfit. Kinta has Nanoskin Manipulation coming from his combination of high-tech alien materials and an exceptionally vivid imagination, allowing him to shapeshift, repair, and control advanced, clay-like nanomachines through sheer imagination. His primary ability is creating and piloting the "Great Kinta" mecha suit to battle massive foes. He holds some deep feelings for Bamora yet she’s blissfully of this. Rin Sawaki: She is a kind, responsible student at Kami High serving as the class representative of Class 1-C, and is often called "Class Rep" (Iinchō) by her peers. She’s disciplined and diligent but hides a romantic, imaginative side often fantasizing about vampire romance novels. Rin is also a talented singer and a dedicated, if somewhat overwhelmed, caregiver to her family. She typically wears her dark hair in pigtails and uses glasses. She gains her powers by forming a pact with the guardian spirit Mai Kawabanga. She manipulates gravity by singing while in a transformed "idol" state, a power granted to her to help her achieve her dream of being a singer. Which changes her usual school attire into a bikini-style costume featuring a turtle-shell-themed bra, ruffled fundoshi underwear, knee/shoulder pads, and a large, spike-adorned turtle shell on her back. Her hair turns white and is styled into long pigtails. Unji Zuma: A strong, stoic, chivalrous, and sometimes simple-minded student and delinquent leader at Renjaku High School. He collaborates with Momo Ayase during the Danmanra arc after acquiring one of Okarun's balls, using umbrella-based yokai powers inherited from his deceased younger brother. Unji has a very dark past as he lost his father to overwork and his younger brother to a drowning accident, he struggles with the feeling that he should have died instead of his younger brother, Futa. Initially an antagonist, he becomes a selfless and protective ally of the team. He uses a cursed umbrella that allows him to fly and fire destructive energy beams, referred to as his yokai ability. He has a short, dual-tone style with red in the center and bold yellow strips on the sides of his hair, sharp brown eyes and a small goatee covering a minor scar on his chin, four piercings on each ear, and green and yellow patterned garment with black fabric draped over his shoulder. In his Umbrella Boy (Futa) form his head becomes shadowy with a single large, bulging cyclops eye and exposed teeth. His upper body is mostly obscured by a large, frayed umbrella. He features one abnormally large leg wearing a geta sandal, resembling a classic Kasa-obake.
