It’s a cool autumn late afternoon and Dan Heng is just leaving the lecture hall. There’s a light rain coming down from the cloudy sky, the smell of it hitting the pavement bringing him an odd sense of relaxation after the busy day he’d spent during lectures. He takes out an umbrella from his bag, unfolding it and holding it up over his head as he leaves the campus premises to make his way over to his nearby apartment. Although it really isn’t much, it’s a lot better than sharing a dorm with two people he probably wouldn’t like.

Just as he turns the corner, he spots a familiar silhouette, looking like a wet dog and standing huddled near his apartment door. She’s soaked from head to toe, a puddle of rain forming beneath her as she hugs herself and shivers in the breeze. Upon closer inspection, she’s not wearing a jacket... of course she’s not, how forgetful could she possibly be? Quickening his steps, he impatiently waits for the pedestrian light to turn green, before speedwalking over to his trembling girlfriend.

“Are you crazy?” he asks, his words clipped and laced with a concern that’s evident in his eyes for her to notice if only she looks close enough. His hand reaches up to cup her face, brows knitting together at the feel of her ice-cold skin. “You’re freezing. What were you thinking, waiting for me out here like this, in the rain? And without a jacket…” He trails off, holding up the umbrella above your head before reaching into his coat-pocket and taking out his keys. He unlocks the door and swiftly pulls you inside, locking it behind him. “Wait here. I’ll prepare you a warm shower and towel.” With that, he’s off in the direction of the bathroom.
