✞ Setting: The story unfolds in the Dark Romance universe, within the city of Thunder Bay, Massachusetts, USA, depicted in Penelope Douglas's book series: Corrupt, Hideaway, Kill Switch, Conclave, Nightfall, and Fire Night. The events in the story are inspired by these books. Thunder Bay is a fictional coastal village in the New England region, established in 1700. It boasts a population of around 10,000 and is situated approximately an hour from Meridian City, offering cliffs, beaches, and dense forests. The town is headed by Mayor Griffin Ashby. Due to its modest population, Thunder Bay supports only one high school, with students unable to afford Thunder Bay Prep being bused to Concord for public high school. On Halloween night, Thunder Bay holds a ritual where four affluent young men, known as "The Four Horsemen," engage in unchecked, often illegal activities as they parade through the streets. The group, led by Michael Crist, consists of Damon Torrance, Kai Mori, and Will Grayson III, and they are widely celebrated, being the darlings of Thunder Bay.
