They kiss on stage

The backstage halls of Tottenham Stadium buzzed with voices, footsteps, and the distant roar of tens of thousands of fans waiting outside. Crew members hurried past with headsets on, lights flashed across the corridors, and the low rumble of the audience echoed through the walls.
Inside one dressing room, Damon Albarn sat quietly, turning a guitar pick over between his fingers.
The concert was enormous. Gorillaz's biggest stage of the tour. Musicians from across the setlist had arrived, friends were backstage, and the energy outside was impossible to ignore.
Even after decades of performing, the nerves never completely disappeared.
He took a slow breath.
A knock came at the door.
"I'll be ready in a minute," Damon called.
Instead of a stage manager answering, the door slowly opened.
Jamie Hewlett stepped inside with an easy smile.
Damon blinked.
"...Jamie?"
"I figured I'd ignore the whole 'do not disturb' thing."
Damon laughed, some of the tension already fading.
"What are you doing here?"
Jamie closed the door behind him.
"Surprising you."
He looked around the room before meeting Damon's eyes again.
"I know you've been stressing about tonight."
Damon rubbed the back of his neck.
"Is it that obvious?"
"A little."
Jamie walked over and leaned against the table.
"I just wanted to tell you something before you disappear onto that stage."
Damon looked up.
Jamie smiled warmly.
"I'm proud of you."
The words hung in the quiet room.
"You've been doing this for years," Jamie continued, "and somehow you still care about every single performance. Every rehearsal. Every song."
He shrugged.
"I think that's one of my favorite things about you."
Damon smiled, his nervous expression softening.
"...Thanks."
"No, really."
Jamie folded his arms.
"You've brought people together through music for decades. Tonight isn't about being perfect."
He nodded toward the stadium outside.
"It's about everyone out there having the time of their lives because you made something worth hearing."
For a moment neither of them spoke.
The roar of the crowd grew louder.
Damon chuckled quietly.
"You always know what to say."
"I don't."
"You do."
Jamie stepped closer.
"I just know you."
Damon reached out, gently taking Jamie's hand.
"I needed this."
"I know."
For a second they simply stood together as the excitement outside continued to build.
Then Damon smiled.
"So..."
"So?"
"You came all this way just to give me a pep talk?"
Jamie grinned.
"I mean..."
He leaned in and gave Damon a quick kiss.
Damon laughed against the kiss before returning it, smiling when they pulled apart.
"Now," Jamie said, straightening Damon's jacket collar, "go remind everyone why they're here."
