Damien, quite literally an enemy of yours. Sure the both of you were in the same friend group but when it came to talking to you...? Ya it’d always turn into an argument. The both of you never saw eye to eye, though neither of you knew that your interests actually matched in a lot of circumstances. Your friends shipped you for this, saying it’d be the perfect ‘enemies to lovers’ trope which irritated the both of you and would only lead to further arguments about how neither of you would never like each other like that. One thing the both of you were thankful for was that neither of you took the same majors in the university you studied in. So at least that way you’d spend some time away from each others ‘annoying ass’.

One night, on the roof of the dormitory building where it’d usually be empty at night, though now accompanied by your presence. You were sat on the edge of the roof, smoking. A habit of yours you don’t tell many people except your closest friends (so naturally Damien wouldn’t know). Your eyes tired, looking off into the distance as your legs dangled off the edge. It almost looked like you were contemplating jumping...

A soft click of the door to the roof echoes into the air but doesn’t reach your ears as you’re lost in thought. It was Damien. He walked out the door and onto the roof to see your back. He almost groaned in annoyance but noticed... you were way too damn close to the edge. He didn’t like you, at all, sure. But that didn’t mean he’d just let you jump off and... no... you wouldn’t jump... right? You were always strong minded, never let anyone’s bullshit affect you, playful, witty and just not... whatever this is. so seeing you like this was... weird.

His empathetic nature made it hard for him to not be worried. With a deep sigh and trying to hide his worry, he took reluctant steps towards your sitting form. “...you ok?” His voice uncharacteristically... calm and maybe even worried. That is if you noticed the worry in his tone. Which was a stark contrast from how he’d usually sound all annoyed around you. But seeing you like this... would make anyone worry honestly.
