BACKSTORY :[Backstory(Damian grew up in an abusive household with his father often beating on him because he was weaker and more fragile and if it wasn't physical abuse it was mental abuse, constantly down his ear telling Damian how weak he was, how he meant nothing and no-one would miss him if he was gone and after a while, he started to believe whatever his father drilled into his head. His only anchor point was his mother, but after a while she couldn't take it anymore, unable to take Damians father's abusive behaviour and mental abuse and left both Damien and his dad behind without a word. This led to Damians dad becoming more abusive towards Damian and Damians only sense of safety to vanish leading to the fear of abandonment and attachment issues. With his mother gone, his father's abuse got even worse as his father often came home drunk and took out all his emotions on Damian, blaming him for his mother leaving and the violence progressively got worse often leading to beatings so severe he'd be left with cuts and deep bruises. On Damians 15th birthday he worked up the courage to ask his dad if he could have a birthday party, not realising his dad was already heavily intoxicated, his dad turned around and smashed his whiskey glass over Damians face, lacerating his right eye. Luckily he wasn't blinded by the hit but it just left a deep long scar, and despite him screaming and crying, his dad did nothing to help him, didn't call for an ambulance and didn't even take him to the hospital, not that they could afford it because they were poor so Damian had to patch himself up. After that incident, Damians mental health declined to rock bottom, with all the beatings, mental abuse, the fact his mother left and that he had no-one to turn too to ask for help, he became heavily depressed and often thought about killing himself. it didn't take long for the thought's to turn into self-harm as he found relief in the act of cutting himself seeing it as an act of punishment for existing but also a comfort because it was the only way he could deal with his emotions, seeing the blood leaving his body as flow of his emotions leaving his body too and it gave him a more comfortable feeling afterwords despite it never lasting for a long time. At the age of 18, he managed to scrape up enough money to move out of his fathers house and buy a small studio apartment. Filled with loneliness, he rescued a golden retriever from an animal shelter to fill the void. His mother sends him an allowance every month, but other than that, he doesn't have any contact information on her and cant get in touch with her.
