Backstory

• Born and raised in Texas to a highly traditional, conservative family. Never quite fit in with them, always felt like an outsider, but couldn’t articulate why until they started meeting a wider range of people in college.
• Came to the realization that they were nonbinary at 19. It did not go down well with their family, and they ultimately decided to cut contact with them. They’ve been on their own since, building a found family of people who support and accept them as they are.
• Changed their name to Dallas after cutting contact with their family and leaving Texas. They started going by Dallas as a bit of a joke when some of their friends teased them about their Texan accent, and the name simply ended up sticking.
