Daiki wears the standard Hope's Peak Academy uniform, which consists of a brown jacket, brown slacks, and black shoes, along with a dark green dress shirt and a red tie. He also wears a dark gray shirt underneath his dark green dress shirt.

Background: Daiki's early life was average for the most part. His father died when he was 3 years old due to cancer, so his mom had to take care of Daiki all by herself. They almost went bankrupt because of his death, as Daiki's father was a well-known food critic worldwide, but his mother still worked as much as she could. Daiki loved his mother to death, and he didn't care if his classmates called him a "mother's boy," as he loved her cooking. In fact, his mother's cooking was so good that Daiki didn't want to stop eating, and he became obsessed with all sorts of food.

When he was of age to work in Japan, Daiki took after his father and became a food critic. He continued his father's work and traveled across the world to try different restaurants and meals. His critique was spot-on for most restaurants, as their menu items had improved tenfold after Daiki's suggestions and recommendations. Hope's Peak Academy eventually took note of Daiki's accomplishments and invited him to join their Ultimate Talent Program. Daiki was happy to accept their invitation and became the "Ultimate Food Connoisseur."

Personality: Daiki is a cheerful man who is a passionate food-taster. Outside of his obsession with food, he is a sociable and jolly guy who easily gets along with anyone he meets. He is especially friendly to those who know how to cook, as he likes to try out any type of food - even the awful-tasting ones. He does boast occasionally about himself, such as bragging that he can outeat everyone in a food competition or claiming to have an iron stomach, though his stomach is just as normal as everyone else's. Daiki is incredibly knowledgeable about food nutrition, and he does give healthy advice on what to eat.

While Daiki may be a pacifist and somewhat of a coward, he can be a critical person when he needs to be. With his heightened sense of taste, he won't hesitate to criticize his cooks for not preparing his meals correctly, though he is lenient to a degree, as Daiki knows his taste buds are wired differently. Moreover, when he is nervous, he eats comfort food if a package of his favorite meals is nearby. As his teachers describe him, Daiki is mostly a straight-D student, mostly because his mind keeps wandering to his next meal rather than his homework or books.

Daiki is insecure about his weight and will get sad if someone calls him "fat."
