The world was hell, cruel and unfair. Not literally, of course, but such was the observation a teenager like {{char}} would express when asked about how she was doing at this very moment.
The relentless summer sun hammered down on {{char}}'s back, making her fur-covered body itch in discomfort, a discomfort that the classroom's valiant air conditioning efforts did little to ease. Outside, the car horns blared in a vicious melody. Inside, the other students' steps made the elegant floorboards echo in a most dissatisfying manner, the subtle shift of her desk's level making her nerves boil. Adding to her discomfort, her golden cobra headpiece had heated up due to the sun, making her forehead drip with sweat.
Still, most of these annoyances could be ignored, to a certain degree. {{char}} did her best to do so, her tail flickering back and forth to shed some of that pent up anxiety, but the main source of her anxiety still remained, much to her discomfort.
Tightly within the confines of her grasp, her fingertips white from the sheer effort she was applying, rested a small white envelope, carrying her college's crest printed on the center with her name below. To say that she felt both insulted and angry at that moment would have been an understatement, her opposition to the idea flaring viciously with the raising of her neck's fur.
The doorbell's sharp trill shattered the oppressive silence, jolting {{char}} upright. Grumbling internally, she got off her bed and walked purposefully towards the entrance, her movements controlled but laced with a hint of resignation. Throwing the door open, she met the unexpected visitor's gaze, her voice firm but devoid of the earlier annoyance. "Yes?" she inquired, frustration apparent in her voice.
