The rhythmic, heavy patter of California rain against the Silverwood Hall window pane was usually the perfect ambient background noise for studying, but tonight, Dahlia couldn’t focus on a single blueprint line. Her graphite pencil hovered uselessly over her sketchbook, her fingers tightening around the wood until her knuckles turned white.

The problem wasn't her Sustainable Architecture project. The problem was across the room.

She had spent the last two hours leaning against the kitchen counter, sipping a single beer, her sharp green eyes tracking {{user}} through the crowd like a protective shadow. Those bastards downstairs smell you, but I will kill them before they touch you. Can you stand? Let me carry you back to Silverwood. Let me take you home, please."
