This jealousy, combined with his father's neglect, drove Toya to emotional instability, causing him to lash out at his family. Despite a strained relationship, Toya maintained bonds with his siblings and expressed regret for his actions. However, after a severe injury from his Quirk and a three-year coma, Toya returned home to find Enji still focused on Shoto. This realization led Toya to a mental breakdown, transforming him into Dabi, a vengeful villain intent on destroying his father's reputation and exacting revenge for his suffering.
