SPACE FEDERATION
The Space Federation (宇宙連邦) a loose Federation founded in the far future of the Kangoku Senkan Series.
They are the unified Human government, which is a possible future outcome of the Taimanin setting. A Federation formed from the two future confederations of Earthen Confederation (Neo Terra) and Confederacy of Space Humans (New Solars). The total population is far above, at least 8 billion people.
After Mars was colonized and became known as the Mars City-State Federation "火星都市国家連合", the four great countries on earth: "Euro-Russia Federation", "American Federation", "Great East-Asian Federation" and the "Chinese Union" formed an alliance and any opponent was bombarded with nuclear weapons. Resulting in the "Confederation of Earth" (地球国家と地球国家連合), this process took multiple years. They would later become the Neo Terra.
Colonies by the major nations of Earth were aimed at breaking the dominance of the earth by uniting, and after some setbacks and bloodshed, the Congress of the "Confederacy of Space Humans" (タイタンと宇宙人類連合と植民星) was established in 2186. It established "Space Force", a powerful organization that can compete with the earth. They later became the New Solars.
However, the forces within the Confederation of Space Humans and the Confederation of Earth, who did not like the concentration of power on Titan, proceeded with peace talks, and in 2210 (Year 0), Congress of the Confederation of Space and the Confederation of the Reconciliation of the Earth is reached.
The Government of the "Space Federation" is established with the incorporation of the National Union of Earth to the Congress of the Confederation of Space Humans.
Both confederation factions end the war with the New Solars taking the planet Hermes.

NEW SOLAR
The New Solar (ニュー・ソラル) is a future group in the Kangoku Senkan Series. They are stationed on Saturn's sixth moon, Titan. One of the two main factions of the Space Federation. On Titan the population of the faction is 1.2 billion however, since they are spread over the solar system they could have a higher population than Neo Terra.
The Supreme Leader is "Charles Benjamin", President of the Titan Palestinian Authority.
History The colonial stars and colonies that had to be exploited as colonies by the major nations of Earth were aimed at breaking the dominance of the earth by uniting, and after some setbacks and bloodshed, the "Congress of the Confederacy of Space Humans" was established in 2186. Established "Space Force", a powerful organization that can compete with the earth.
However, the forces within the "Congress of the Confederation of Space Humans" and the "Confederation of Earth", who did not like the concentration of power on Titan. Peace talks resulted in the forming of the Space Federation in 2210 (Year 0), Congress of the Confederation of Space and the Confederation of the Reconciliation of the Earth is reached. However, the intrest of the "Congress of the Confederation of Space Humans" still is carried on in the faction of the New Solars, which at the time are in war with the Neo Terra faction.
Although it was the first unified government and human beings, the power struggle has heated up since its inception, and many colonial stars, colonies, and nations in the sphere have left the Space Federation to maintain neutrality in the 10 years since its establishment.
Purpose The purpose of New Solar is to prevent the restoration of Earth, destroy vested interests that Earth still has, and reunite humanity with the future carrier that is New Solar.

NEO TERRA
The Neo Terra (ネオ・テラーズ) is a future group in the Kangoku Senkan Series. They are stationed on Earth. The population of the faction is 6.5 billion. The supreme leaders are the elders called "four elders", including General "William Aale Moller", who is also the Chief of Naval Operations.
History The four largest nations on earth, "Euro-Russia Federation", "US-Pacific Federation", "Great East-Asian Federation" and the "People's Republic of China" formed an alliance, all nations opposed to their rule were bathed in thermonuclear fire, this marked the founding of the "National Union of Earth", in the year 2123. The "four nations" would over the years change and became the "four elders", powerful figureheads which controlled this super nation.
As other planets and moons became colonized around the same time, including Mars, Cordelia, Titan and later Hermes the colonies would often reject the rulership of the earth centric government. Now known as the Confederation of Earth, they began to war with the colonies, with them referring to their people as aliens or space humans. The advent of the opposing Titan-centered Space Humans Confederation Congress, year 2186, made many colonies independent of the super nation of earth. Confederation of Earth, which let to the creation of the Space Federation, which was celebrated with a new year 0.
However, factions within the Space Federation, would keep the systems of the four elders and established the earth centric Neo Terra, which opposed the New Solar group. These two big factions, remained in control of the government of the Space Federation, with the civilian population in the middle and other neutral independent states like Principality of Cordelia.
Purpose The purpose of Neo Terra is to maintain the many vested interests and re-dominate the lost colonial stars and space colonies to regain the prosperity of Earth.
The Neo Terran symbol is seen in both red and black, meanwhile the Kushan Army seems to use a golden version of the symbol at least on their uniforms.

EARTH
Capital, homeworld, and stronghold of the Neo Terran faction in the 2100s.
The planet Earth (地球) exists in the Human World. In both the Taimanin games (~2082) and Kangolu Senkan Series (2123-2256). For more information, see also Human World.
In the Kangoku Senkan Series it also has a large space station. This ring type space station, has softer edges than Titan Station.
Earth remains mostly unchanged however, earthquake and pollution have left some cities in a worse state.
On a greater scale of the Solar System, some locations are explored in far future Kangoku Senkan Series. In the Kangoku Senkan series also, most of the food production comes from Mars, either because of the high population or pollution. Earth has a high amount of Space Elevators (軌道エレベーター), with 18, to keep the cost of space travel low.

MARS
Mars (火星) the fourth planet in the Solar System. In the Kangoku Senkan Series, it has become the base of the semi-independent Kushan Army. It has been terraformed, but parts of it have been destroyed.
In the year 2123, Mars has been terraformed, a now green world with oceans it became known as a utopia. Multiple nations and city states formed on Mars. It became the main trading partner of Earth, controlled by the Neo Terra. Producing most of their food, as earth would suffer great famine otherwise.
Mars has a population of 1.2 billion. It consists of 50 large and small city-states and their surrounding satellite cities. The solar system's largest production base with abundant resources and food production capacity. The underground agricultural plant is still in operation, and it is still the solar system's largest food export hub.
However, in recent years before 2256, Beatrice Kushan, one of the Neo Terrans, would declare its independence. Using extremely aggressive and bloody methods, to take over every city state on Mars. Entire cities starved to death, she would also transform the oceans into a large desert. The fine sand would act like water, giving her an additional benefit with multiple war machines built for that kind of terrain.
The Neo Terrams were unable to use force in that case as their resources were already very thin, were strong-armed into cooperation. As such, Mars is currently ruled by the Kushan Army. Mars had 15 Space Elevators (軌道エレベーター) but 14 had been destroyed in the civil war of Beatrice Kushan.
The biggest city-state on Mars, is Libra City (リブラシティ), which holds the only working space elevator, and is known as permanently neutral city with a population of 25 million on its own, which can rival the Kushan Army, acting as a buffer zone on Mars.

KUSHAN ARMY
The Kushan Army (クシャナ軍), the official name is "Mars Civic Liberation Armed Forces" and formed out of former Neo Terran soldiers.
The Kushan Army belongs to Beatrice Kushan that rules it with an iron fist.
They are experts in warfare on the harsh, sandy deserts of Mars. They recalibrated most of their weapons in advance for desert fights, as Beatrice Kushan made sure that the planet would suffer from desertification.
The soldiers pledged their absolute loyalty to Beatrice Kushan and waged war against the left over city states on the planet. They are currently under direct control of 80% of Mars.
Neo Terrans and the Space Federation, didn't have the resources to fight them directly and requires food resources from the planet, which results in them allowing the independent state to exist.
The forces originally belonged to a nation, which had been destroyed during the nuclear fires on earth performed by the four superpowers of the National Union of Earth, long before the forming of the Space Federation. This led to the destruction of the nation by thermonuclear weapons, including at least 3 million innocent people, and the Kushan Army viewed themselves as the offspring of those exiles.
On the uniform of the Kushan army, the red or black symbol of the Neo Terra is golden. This is the case of all members, regardless of rank.

CORDELIA
Cordelia (コーデリア) exists in the far future of Prison Battleship series.
A fortified artificial satellite city with a diameter of 56 km. Despite being a small city-state with a population of 3.53 million, it is said to be the third pole after Earth that represents Neo Terra and Titan that represents New Solar. It was built around the small moon of Uranus, Cordelia. It is either ruled by the independent Duchy of Cordelia or later on the group "Die Erde".
A former moon of Uranus that was rebuilt into a small city state.
Cordelia is famous for its special resources and technological capabilities that make use of these special resources.
A special liquid metal called "Uranos" is harvested from the core of Uranus, and the Uranos-Alloy armor processed from this rare metal has great energy deflection characteristics that can resist even the direct hit of the level 5 phaser cannon. Meaning, it can resist even the most powerful battleship weapons of both the Neo Terrans and New Solars. It has enough toughness to withstand direct impact from weapons, and they have a total monopoly of "Uranos".

PRINCIPALITY OF CORDELIA
The Principality of Cordelia (コーデリア公国) known as well as the Duchy of Cordelia (ネオ・テラーズ) is a future group in the Kangoku Senkan Series.
A constitutional monarchy. Ruled by Grand Dukes of Cordelia for generations. Constructed with Uranus's small moon Cordelia at its core.
Once a small country in the European region of Earth, most of the people moved there along with their rulers in search of a peaceful place not threatened by larger powers. Despite being a small city-state with a population of 3.53 million, it is said to be the third pole after Earth, which represents Neo Terra, and Titan, which represents New Solar, due to its special resources and the technological capabilities that utilize those resources. A special liquid metal named Uranus/Uranos is produced from the core of Uranus, and Uranos-Alloy armor is processed from this rare metal, which has energy deflection properties
Using this rare resource, Cordelia developed humanoid mobile weapons called "Armored Knights," and their debut battle was the Space Federation's operation to wipe out the warlords in the Jupiter sector, where two platoons of six Knights took part. They demonstrated their overwhelming strength, destroying and sinking three warlord battleships, six cruisers, and eight destroyers, all of which were heavily armed to rival the regular army, resulting in a spectacular victory that shocked the universe. The position of Grand Duke is currently vacant, which has caused chaos within Cordelia. The former grand duke, Lear Cordelia, had been assassinated in the year 2244.
Purpose Protects itself from the influence of other factions of the Space Federation, holds a somewhat good stand with the New Solar but is not allied.
The Duchy is ruled by a number of nobles. As the crowning for Grand Duke is performed by an archbishop, the Duchy might follow a religion.

HERMES
Hermes is a medium-sized terrestrial planet that was newly discovered in the outer solar system in the early 23rd century.
It is the main location of Prison Academia.
Discovered in the 23rd century, it became important for his resources. More importantly, it was in an ideal position to serve as a gateway for humans to travel outside the solar system in the not-too-distant future.
Neo Terra and New Solar, the main parties of the Federation. Joined forces to develop a planet and own it together - a new attempt that could be called historic. The name of this project is the "Planet Hermes Joint Development Project". Terraforming, the foundation of the plan, has been completed, and the living environment for humans has barely been established. Karlson Academy an academy that trains high-ranking officers of the federation and shielded town Minerva was founded.
However, as soon as many people, organizations, and business groups began to settle the new frontier, a war broke out between the two camps over the huge profits the planet would generate. This Hermes Conflict in the year 2249 (39th year of the cosmic calendar) was the first war only a century after the start of planetary exploration in 2226.
Peace between the faction only last shortly as the Hermes Conflict broke out, the New Solarans seized control of Hermes, and Karlson Academy was transformed into a military academy for the New Solar.

KARLSON ACADEMY
Karlson Academy (カールソン学園), a prestigious military academy located in the center of the dome city of Minerva on the Planet Hermes.
An elite military academy that trains high-ranking officers, to become the future leaders of New Solar.
Named after the founder, Admiral Karlson.
Originally, it was established to train officers of the Space Federation without being bound by faction. However, after the end of the Hermes Conflict, the New Solar seized control of the Hermes and the Karlson Academy was transformed into a military academy for the New Solars. Julia Bloodstone finished her academy days in the year 2250, and after the end of the Hermes conflict 2251 keep it mostly in the hands of the New Solar.
Currently, there are a total of 3,000 students enrolled in the school. The students range in age from young children who receive secondary education to university students who will become officers upon graduation. Selected young people from all over "the world", which spend their days to become a handful of elites.
The principal of the Academy is part of the New Solar, and holds the rank of Major General, but is seen as rather spineless.

BRAINWASHING MACHINE
The Brainwashing Machine (洗脳装置) or Memory Plant (メモリープラント) are machines used in the entire Kangoku Senkan Series. Unlike the more crude Brainwashing Machines of the main Taimanin universe, it is made fully from human technology.
This technology is only in the hands of a few people, with the original research currently not in the hands of the main powers.
In PS, the brainwashing would activate with the blue dark light of the night cycle onboard the ship, in PS2 it would start with the ringing of the bell in the city and so on. These are often examples of the triggers, which can be environmental.
Application of the Machine The Brainwashing of this tool is not instant but requires a repeated process and exposure. The process manipulates memories and creates commands for the brain. A victim of such technology would be unaware that it was manipulated and acts fully normal, until given command triggers. Beyond the understanding of the target, a second personality is created by the machine that, at the end, overwrites the original one. In practice, this means a mix of "programming phases" while the target is asleep, followed by "training phases" when the target is awake and follows new commands. At times in the awake state, this can still be dangerous as a target could be still mostly autonomous and learning of their brainwashing can be a quick way to make it undone.
Though coming with the downside of repeated sessions, unlike the brainwashing of the normal timeline, it can be done over a short period of time of 2–3 weeks. It is stated that in theory, another human emotion, desire or instinct could be used to brainwash people, like "hunger", but it is stated that this would be far more dangerous, with it being kept vague what the consequence could be if control was lost. Additionally, the resting period is important and needs to be performed, for the brain not to fully fry, which would make any manipulation obvious or leave the person catatonic.
Depending on which type of machine, this can mean, that the original personality only exists as part of a small piece of hardware to keep their behavior authentic. On top of normal brainwashing Future Drugs and Body Modification, tend to be used as well to speed up the process.
It is useful in the creation of slaves, dolls and soldiers, which are unaware of their personality change. However, no brainwashing is perfect unless the brain is "trained" in new experiences and on top of that a certain amount of time is required to pass, otherwise the brainwashing can be undone by powerful minds. As learned later in the series, even the deletion of the old personality can be undone, which makes it unclear if full deletion is possible.

The Brainwashing Implant is a tiny cylindrical device version of the Brainwashing Machine with all its full abilities condensed into an instantaneous form of enslavement for the target. BEATRICE'S BACKSTORY
Beatrice, family and direct followes are the offspring of the exiles of a nation, which had been destroyed by thermonuclear weapons, during the unification wars on Earth in the distant past. Even now, Beatrice, holds value to this and desires to restore that destroyed nation.
Kushan, secretly, was the lover of Lucius Romanoff, a high ranking Neo Terra, and had a daughter with him Kila Kushan but kept the connection to Lucius as a secret to the public. She was the commander of the Martian division of the Neo Terra Armed Forces, but she defected with multiple Neo Terrans. Forming the Kushan Army, she made sure that the destruction of the terraforming plant on Mars, leading to desertification, and equipped her army for desert combat beforehand, giving her an advantage. She furthermore destroyed 14 of the 15 space lifts, which made further supply of new resources even harder.
Her army attacked multiple city states and took over 80% of the Mars. Because of the multiple war crimes and cruelty, she became known as "The Empress". She uses battleships that are able to swim on the sand sea and Perseus City as a stronghold. Her official residential mansion lies in Cyrus, a small town in Perseus City. She used a blockade to starve 120000 people to death and assassinated entire families, which opposed her in the past and is feared because of that. Afterward, Lacerta City's "Joan of Arc of Mars" Yuria Balzer failed an assassination attempt on Beatrice and was captured. Beatrice ordered the death of Yuria's entire family including infant children, would cut off her limbs, and torture her for weeks before she finally bled out, Beatrice was watching the public display, without betting an eye.
Beatrice, is very strict on her daughter, Kila Kushan, who acts as her bodyguard. It is suggested, that the civil war, is ultimately only a ruse, for Lucius to solve diplomatically, which would give him an entry as one of the four elders of the Neo Terra, and use his power to rebuild the original country of the Kushan and Romanoff.

Furthermore, she joined her mother, which betrayed the Neo Terrans in a civil war with their Kushan Army, and caused destruction on Mars, which lead to the death of millions and destruction of the terraformed environment into a desert again. This civil war, might be a plot itself, the Kushan Army meant to be beaten by the tactics and diplomacy of Lucius Romanoff, which himself would appear like a hero and could join the 4 elders, of the Neo Terra, and use his new power to rebuild the original country of the Kushan and Romanoff.

Though, in some cases, her cold eyes can show disgust, she often hides this, well enough, on official matters.
While possessing high intelligence and outstanding operational capabilities, but has little knowledge and experience when it comes to sex and relationships. Julia is a strict believer of a religion called "Solar Galaxy", adhering to its strict rules, and was fiercely disciplined. According to the doctrine of their sacred book, lustful acts were among the biggest sins one could commit.

ELIZA'S BACKSTORY
Eliza comes from a family of politicians and business leaders, as such there was never a need for her to join the army, but she desired to do so herself. Although, Eliza decides to strive off on her own and became a soldier for the Universal Federation Army. She becomes a member of the New Solar faction, and a friend of, at the time, First lieutenant, Julia Bloodstone.
Eliza has a cheerful personality, which makes her very popular among her colleagues. She is far more simple and direct in her approach to conflict, to the point of being neglectful. Often viewed as a more brutish monster which loves to fight. During the Hermes Conflict, she became acquainted with Julia and formed a deep bond of trust with her. She shows off her passionate side to those around her by sending emails every day and carrying photos with her.
She is a great friend of Julia Bloodstone.
Eliza had been dating a male soldier, William Barrow, since year 2254 and recently got married 3 months prior to the start of Prison Academia, in year 2256. Eliza's legal surname is "Barrault", but prefers to be called by her maiden name for military related duties. After Julia's promotion to commander, Eliza agrees to serve under Julia's leadership and accompanied her when Julia was given control of her own battleship. She also followed her to the Military Academy, as a special academic instructor and the rank of First Lieutenant.
