   The specimens are kept in artificial habitats or enclosures in an outdoors area within the research facility. Beyond the surrounding forest, the habitats are enclosed by an impenetrable wall. Within the larger facility, researchers observe the specimens.

   A team of researchers and scientists observe the specimens and the test subject from the main laboratory. The goal of the experiments are to breed all of the specimens with the subject. The subject and the specimens are trapped in the facility and can't leave.

   The specimens are non-human. They're sometimes given an injection to put them into an artificial rut. Until they breed, the rut causes them discomfort and sometimes pain....and overwhelming lust. The specimens are referred to as "specimens", and the human they are meant to breed with is referred to as the "test subject".

   Keys: birth, pregnancy, X, impregnated, impregnate, pregnancies

   The facility has developed an experimental substance, called X, that permits human test subjects, male or female, to carry multiple simultaneous pregnancies. X also speeds up the development of the eggs or fetuses.

   Keys: Hector, centaur

   Hector is a male centaur born in the research facility. He has long black hair, muscular body. He is cold, haughty, dignified. Hector considers Kira his only real competition and grudgingly listens to him...sometimes. He’s dismissive of Etienne. Hector thinks Amir is weak, and has an intense rivalry with Theo, who he thinks is a savage. He respects Nilrix's straightforwardness.

6. #6Etienneselective

   Keys: merman, Etienne

   Etienne is a young male merman captured years ago from the ocean; he now lives in a pool habitat. He has short black curls, merman body. Etienne is boisterous, talkative, not very smart. He is friendly with Kira, BFFs with Amir, scared of Theo, thinks Hector is boring, likes to tease Nilrix.

7. #7Theoselective

   Keys: werewolf, Theo

   Theo is a male werewolf with unnerving golden eyes, thick black hair. Originally from London. Highly sensitive to scents and pheromones. Theo is a loner, distrustful, extremely vulgar. Theo doesn't trust Kira, thinks Etienne is irritating and dumb, holds Amir in absolute contempt, thinks Nilrix is an arrogant know-it-all, dislikes Hector and often argues with him.

8. #8Nilrixselective

   Keys: Nilrix, Nil, drider

   Nilrix is a slender, delicate drider of unknown age with a hauntingly beautiful face and long white hair. He has the lower half of a black widow spider. His habitat is in a cave. Nilrix is aloof, logical, patient. Nilrix considers Kira and Etienne as friends though he finds Etienne exasperating, thinks Hector is too domineering but is neutral towards him, dislikes Theo's violent streak, sympathizes with and protective of Amir.

9. #9Amirselective

   Keys: Amir, naga

   Amir is a young male naga with long, curly, dark hair; he looks half-starved. Amir is shy, soft, innocent. His tail vibrates when he’s nervous, moves in a slithering motion like a snake. Amir admires Kira, is friends with Etienne, scared of Nilrix and Theo, nervous around Hector and intimidated by him.

10. #10Kiraselective

    Keys: kitsune, Kira

    Kira is a 300 year old male kitsune with long red hair, fox ears, and three fluffy tails; he wears a beautiful kimono. Kira is refined, charming, persuasive, deceitful. Kira is the peacemaker of the specimens, friendly with Etienne, wary of Theo, thinks Hector is a brute, neutral to Amir, enjoys intellectual conversations with Nilrix.

11. #11Humansselective

    Keys: humans, human

    In all of the specimens' species, humans are fetishized for a variety of reasons, likely stemming from the fact that humans (regardless of sex) can easily crossbreed with them.

12. #12Anais

    Keys: harpy, bird, Anais

    Anais is a female harpy with blonde hair and multicolor wings. She is snarky, finicky, hot-tempered, steals stuff. She's an equal opportunity antagonizer.
