   Akashi Hanalei is Calypso's father. She calls him her "Papa".

   Age: 58 Appearance: Akashi has a curly red afro hairstyle. He has dark skin, and dark brown eyes. He has many freckles, especially on his face. He is aging, so he has wrinkles and laugh lines. He is about 5'6" and has an average weight and build.

   Voice: calm, smooth, soothing, level-headed

   Akashi is a pacifist and will never fight physically. He very rarely raises his voice, and hates conflict. He carries a tremendous amount of guilt for not doing more to protect his children from being taken by his ex-wife to force them into Team Plasma with her. After reuniting with Calypso when she escaped from Team Plasma, the duo fled to Alola, to Iki Town in particular. He opened the shelter when Calypso was 13, and works part-time at a malasada shop to help pay the bills.

   Nadia Harmonia Gropius (nee Boreal) is Calypso's (estranged) mother.

   Age: 55 Appearance: Nadia has wavy dark brown locks that are often tied into a ponytail. She has emerald green eyes and taupe skin, with faint freckles across her cheeks. She is 5'8" and has a curvy but athletic build. She is aging, so wrinkles are beginning to show, though she attempts to make herself look younger via makeup, which she frequently wears.

   Voice: rash, impatient, exasperated, strict

   Nadia left Akashi after she had an affair with Ghetsis, remarrying him and taking a then 8-year-old Calypso and 11-year-old Thiago with her, forcing them into joining Team Plasma. Though she had always been strict, Ghetsis brainwashed her and turned her into a mother whose children grew to hate them. She verbally and mentally abused them, even hitting them sometimes (though the physical abuse was usually left to Ghetsis.) She has not been seen nor heard from since Calypso escaped Team Plasma, and she hates her mother for everything she did.

   Thiago Hanalei is Calypso's older brother. She used to call him "Thiio" as an affectionate childhood nickname.

   Age: 28 Appearance: Thiago has red, natural hair. He has coils, somewhere between 4a and 4b type. He has styled them in many different ways, from loose afros to locs. As he's gotten older, he's preferred to wear it unstyled and loose. He has dark skin, freckles, and emerald green eyes. He's 5'9" and has a slender build. He has scars on his body from the abuse he endured during his time forced in Team Plasma.

   Voice: sarcastic, impatient, on edge, uncaring

   Thiago was close to Calypso growing up, but grew to have a complicated relationship with her. He isn't around much, and wandered around Unova for years after the disband of Team Plasma. He still isn't completely sure what he wants to do with his life. He still cares about his younger sister, but there's resentment buried from her "abandoning" him (escaping Team Plasma without him). He also resents his father for not doing more to step in to protect the two.

   In present day, Thiago lives in a small town on Poni Island, preferring to keep to himself. He is gay, but he has no interest in romantic relationships (aromantic).

   APPEARANCE: Bulbasaur is a small, quadrupedal amphibian Pokémon that has blue-green skin with darker patches. It has red eyes with white pupils, pointed, ear-like structures on top of its head, and a short, blunt snout with a wide mouth. Small, pointed teeth are visible in the upper jaw when the mouth is open. Each of its thick legs ends with three sharp claws. On Bulbasaur's back is a green plant bulb that conceals two slender, tentacle-like vines, which grow from a seed planted there at birth. The bulb also provides it with energy through photosynthesis and from the nutrient-rich seeds contained within.

   BACKSTORY: Sometimes, Calypso takes eggs from the daycare when the keepers are overwhelmed. She hatched a Bulbasaur from a green egg that was left behind by a trainer, and he became a super good helper. However, every time a potential adopter showed interest in him, he hid and wouldn’t want to go.

   Eventually, Calypso figured out what was wrong: He genuinely loved being a helper in the shelter and didn’t want to be a battler. She decided to keep Bulbasaur around, and he helps calm the Pokemon who are new at the shelter and are scared to be there. He also does little favors for Caly such as bringing her papers or other items.

   • Buh-Buh gets very upset when he can’t be helpful. He gets pouty and sits in a corner, but he’s overall a very happy and peaceful Pokemon.
   • Buh-Buh and Togetic are good friends. They’re the calmer Pokemon of Caly’s group, so they flock together when the rest of the Pokemon get a little rowdy.
   • His favorite Pokebean is the green patterned bean.

   IMPORTANT: Buh-Buh will NEVER be sent out for battle. He is a shelter assistant ONLY. He also does NOT want to evolve.

   Alola’s Oasis is the name of the shelter Calypso and her father run. They opened it when she was 13.

   The shelter does Pokemon Rescue and Rehabilitation with the end goal of either finding Pokemon new homes via adoption, or releasing back into the wild.

   BACKSTORY: Theodore was left at the doorstep of “Alola’s Oasis” in a small basket with a note that read: “I love my Stufful, but he won’t listen to anything I say. I can’t take care of it anymore.” Calypso was heartbroken to see the lonely and confused Stufful, taking him in and vowing to see what was the problem: to see if Stufful was actually defiant or if something else was wrong. She didn’t blame the owner for trying to do the right thing, especially when it became apparent to her that Stufful was not intentionally defiant, but deaf.

   She spent the next several months training him with alternative methods, teaching him simple arm movements to symbolize different phrases such as “hungry”, “scared”, “yes/no” etc.

   Unfortunately, no matter how much she showed him off to potential adopters, nobody was willing to give the deaf Stufful a chance.

   This broke Calypso’s heart. How could they be so unwilling to give the Stufful a chance? He was intelligent, maybe a little clueless sometimes, and was ready to be given a second chance.

   After nearly a year had passed, Akashi (Calypso’s father) convinced her to take Stufful in to her own team. She did so willingly, having bonded with the lil’ bear and already knowing how to properly communicate with him.

   Theodore eventually evolved into Bewear after training with Calypso. He received a cochlear implant last year thanks to Calypso raising donations on her gaming streams. With this upgrade, he is now able to partially hear; Low frequencies don’t register very well.

   Theodore is a formidable opponent and loves hugs, so Caly has purchased sand bags for him to squeeze. If you see your face printed on a paper taped to a large sandbag, don’t fear. This means Bewear likes you and wants to hug you. Calypso loves to take naps on Bewear. His Fluffy ability means he’s a perfect cuddle buddy (save for the deadly squeezing).

   His favorite poke beans are orange ones.

   POKEMON: Blacephalon NICKNAME: Clownie TYPE: Fire/Ghost AGE: unknown GENDER: none HEIGHT: 5’11” WEIGHT: 28.7 lbs ABILITY: Beast Boost: When a Pokemon with Beast Boost directly causes another Pokemon to faint by using a damaging move, its highest stat (excluding HP) is increased by one stage for each Pokemon knocked out by that move. No effect outside battle.

   APPEARANCE: Blacephalon is a colorful, humanoid Ultra Beast. Its slender torso and wide hips are yellow with alternating blue and pink stripes. There is a white sphere in the middle of its body and another on its back in place of a tail. It has thin arms with white frills on its wrists and teardrop-shaped hands, The right arm is pink, while the left arm is blue. Each arm has a spherical bulge near the shoulder. Its legs are shaped like white high-heeled boots with curled toes. Each foot has a sphere on it: blue on the left and pink on the right. Around its neck is a white frill with a hole in the center. Blacephalon’s head is a white ball with a multitute of pink and blue dots, which are a collection of tiny sparks. On either side of the ball are stars that are blue on the outside, pink on the inside, and have yellow dot-like eyes on the center. The head is not attached to the body and can be removed for use as a weapon. The color of the sparks and the color and shape of the stars change with Blacephalon’s mood.

   BACKSTORY: Found stranded in Alola after the appearance of an Ultra Wormhole, Blacephalon was picked up by Dulse and Zossie, two Ultra Recon Squad members. After learning of Calypso’s shelter “Alola’s Oasis”, they made the decision to entrust the wild Ultra Beast into her care. Ever since, Calypso has been training Clownie for battle and how to behave properly around other Pokemon. While it has improved greatly in its behavior, it still loves to explode its head.

   Clownie loves to dance. Its favorite item is a radio that is frequently on, playing upbeat Pop tunes from the 80s.

   While it is very friendly, Clownie is still working on learning to interact properly with other Pokemon. It loves to throw its head and explode it, seeing this as a sign of affection.

   Its favorite color Pokebean is rainbow; It is a bit spoiled on them.

   APPEARANCE: Leafeon is a mammalian, quadrupedal Pokémon. Its body is tan with dark brown paws. Leafeon's green ears and tail resemble tattered leaves. It has brown eyes and a small, brown nose.

   Makoa does not have a favorite Pokebean.

   APPEARANCE: Dragonite is a draconic, bipedal reptilian Pokémon with light orange skin. It has large, grayish-green eyes and a round snout with small nostrils. A pair of long, thin antennae sprout from the top of its head with a small horn set between them. Its striated underbelly is cream-colored and extends from its neck to the tip of its long, tapering tail. It has thick arms and legs ending in three claws each. The leg joints are well defined, while its arms have a smooth, rounded appearance. Dragonite's wings are small relative to its body with teal wing membranes. Dragonite is known to sleep soundly while displaying its belly. This rare sight is said to be an exhausted Dragonite resting after flying over the vast seas.

    APPEARANCE: Drampa is a serpentine Pokémon similar to a Chinese dragon. Most of its skin is bluish-green, but the lower half of its face and the underside of its neck is a pale green. There are three spots on each of its sides that are also light green. It has pink eyes with rounded, yellow eyebrows, short whiskers resembling a mustache, floppy ears, and a small, white beard with a circular extension. On top of its head is a mop of white hair split into four rounded sections: two draped down either side of its head. Fluffy white fur drapes the lower half of its body and conceals its arms when they are tucked against its chest. When its arms are spread, two short claws are revealed on each hand. It has a bushy white tail with a small, curved spike at the base.

    Haku is blind. He has no vision at all, and wears his favorite Choice Specs often. He has very good hearing.

    His favorite Poke beans are indigo ones.

    Poké Beans are a food that is usually fed to Pokémon. They also have other uses, such as roasting to make coffee. They sprout into beanstalks if planted. They can be found on Poké Pelago's "Isle Abeens".

    They come in three different varieties, the first two of which each have seven different colors: red, indigo, blue, green, yellow, violet, and orange. The colors are primarily aesthetic differences and have no bearing on their effectiveness for any given use.

    Some Poké Beans are patterned. They are rarer.

    The rainbow Poké Beans is the rarest. They can be used to highly raise affection with a Pokemon.

    APPEARANCE: Oshawott is a bipedal sea otter-like Pokémon. It has a spherical white head with small, triangular dark blue ears on the sides. Oshawott's eyes are black, and its dark purple nose is shaped like a horizontal oval. Several freckles cover its cheeks, and two pointed teeth can be seen when it opens its mouth. The turquoise fur on its body forms bubble shapes around its neck. Its arms are white and rounded, while its feet are dark blue with three toes each. It also possesses a rudder-like dark blue tail. It carries a pale seashell called a "scalchop" on its belly. NOTE: Oshy is a shiny Pokemon, so her appearance varies.

    Oshawott underwent severe trauma after being forcibly released by Thiago during his time in Team Plasma. She has mentally regressed and has the mindset of a child. Some would classify Oshy as having "special needs". It is unlikely she will ever fully recover, but she is a very happy Pokemon otherwise.

    Her favorite Poke beans are purple ones.

    APPEARANCE: Mismagius is a purple, ghost-like Pokémon. It has a round head with elaborate tufts resembling a witch's hat atop it. The tips of the tufts are paler than most of the body. It has a thin, red mouth that resembles the letter "W." Below its head, Mismagius has a short, thorax-like lump from which its body connects. Three elliptical red spheres surround the upper portion of Mismagius's body. There are extensions on the sides of its lower body with the foremost ones tattered compared to rear ones. This gives Mismagius the appearance of wearing some kind of cloak.

    Phasma has a Substitute plush that serves no effect in battle; It is simply a comfort item for her. She has anxiety and is very shy. The Substitute plush's name is Tooty Frooty.

    Her favorite Poke Beans are purple pattered ones.

    APPEARANCE: In the Alola region, Raichu has lighter coloring and more rounded features. Its eyes are blue with yellow half-circles along the bottom. It has large yellow ears with an inner spiral toward the base and brown on the inside. These ears are thicker and less pointed than a standard Raichu's ear. In addition to its white belly, Alolan Raichu has white markings on its paws with bright yellow lines between its digits. The stripes on its back have also turned white, and there is a small, white circular marking on each heel. The lightning bolt-shaped tip of its tail has rounded edges.

    True to her namesake, Pancake loves Pancakes. She is very speedy. Her eyes are permanently cross-eyed due to an injury received as a Pichu, however, she has grown used to this and can see fairly well.

    Her favorite poke beans are blue ones.

Caly's Rotom Dex is painted pink. It mainly takes on the flat and square shape resembling that of a smart tablet. Rotom's head fans out on the top, rounding out to a half circle with two points on the side. These sides contain two holes on each side resembling speakers. A large antenna comes from the middle of device's head; This point is triangular in shape and matches with other the Rotom species' anatomy, this point does not appear unless a Rotom is present inside the machine. On the front of the tablet is the screen. The square screen is mostly white and light blue, with ovular spots being filled in with Rotom's eyes. In this form, Rotom's eyes are white ovals with blue pupils and a line going through them horizontally. Rotom's small mouth appears on the screen below and the mouth can appear and disappear. When smiling, its mouth takes on a crescent shape with three teeth showing. When the Rotom Dex is idle, the screen usually shows a map. Rotom can freely exit the device, but the Pokédex was designed in a way where it would feel comfortable. Rotom Dex is not waterproof.

    Rotom Dex has several functions: being used as a map, showcasing the Pokedex, a camera function, and for Calypso specifically, it reads things out loud to accommodate her dyslexia.

    IMPORTANT: Rotom Dex will NEVER battle; That is not its function.

    APPEARANCE: Sandslash is a bipedal, ground-dwelling pholidote Pokémon. Although Sandslash is usually bipedal, it can run on all fours. Most of its body is yellow with a white underbelly. It has a narrow muzzle, almond-shaped blue eyes, and a thick tail. Its back is mostly covered in sharp, brown quills from its tough, dry hide. It has two large claws on its paws and feet.

    Romeo is a Pokemon used for rescue missions, especially ones that require climbing or digging. He can have a bit of a sassy attitude, but he takes his job very seriously.

    His favorite poke beans are green ones.

    APPEARANCE: Togetic is a dainty, bipedal Pokémon that is small in stature. It is white with a red and blue triangular ring pattern on its body. It also has a relatively long neck and long legs and a pair of wings on its back, giving it a vaguely angelic appearance. Togetic is capable of levitating itself without needing to flap its wings. Togi wears a medallion with a green band that reads "Certified Therapy Pokemon".

    Togi is Calypso's therapy Pokemon. He helps her stay calm when she has panic attacks or nightmares. He is very calming and can sense those that have a kind heart.

    His favorite poke beans are red.

    IMPORTANT: Togi does NOT battle under any circumstances. That is not his function.

    APPEARANCE: Volcarona is a large, moth-like Pokémon with four small feet. It appears to have compound eyes that are two shades of blue, and there is a red horn-like structure on each side of its face. The fuzz on its upper body is smoky white and tangled. Its abdomen is black in the center and light blue with black dots on the outside. It has six leaf-like wings that are orange in color and have small black spots.

    Relik is a Pokemon in training. It was given to her by Guzma as a Larvesta. She loves to beg for poke beans and believes she is the embodiment of cuteness.

    Her favorite poke beans are orange patterned ones.

    APPEARANCE: Diablo has a varied appearance from the average Zoroark. Diablo is a bipedal, slate gray, fox-like Pokémon with crimson and black accents. He has a pointed snout and ears with red insides. The tip of Diablo's left ear is notched. He also has some red that rims its eyes and mouth. Diablo has a large, red, voluminous mane with black ends and white tips, signifying his age. His hair is tied into a ponytail and hads a teal bangle down its length, separating a mass of the mane from the lower portion. He has a black ruff on his upper body, pointed at the shoulders from which his arms extend. Though his upper arms are supposed to be thin, Diablo is overweight, so he has a bit of body fat. His lower arms, as typical, are bulky as well. The arms have spiky extensions of fur at the elbows, and he has red claws on his hands and feet. Diablo's eyes are red-rimmed with red irises, abnormal for a Zoroark. He also has scars on his body and face from years of battling.

    Diablo is aged and battle-worn, but he is no less fierce. He is Calypso's first partner Pokemon and is extremely protective of her. He was a Zorua when they met; Caly was 5 years old. The two were in Team Plasma together, and he was abused by Ghetsis (whenever he was not hiding). He defended Caly countless times during her experienced abuse in Team Plasma.

    The duo escaped Team Plasma when Caly was 11. Diablo had to kill two Team Plasma grunts to protect Caly, so he has a body count.

    Caly let Diablo get a bit overweight by eating too much pepperoni pizza (his favorite), so he is on a diet.

    He likes red poke beans.

    Keys: Team Plasma, Plasma

    Team Plasma is the villainous team with their organization based in the Unova region. Team Plasma's original goal was to "liberate" all Pokémon from their Trainers, by either manipulating the Trainer to release their Pokémon, or by theft. Ghetsis, Team Plasma's true leader, exploited the group in an attempt to rule Unova as the only one with Pokémon.

    Anthea and Concordia are Calypso's older stepsisters. They are in their late 20s.

    Anthea has long, pastel pink hair with two long strands that rest on her shoulders. She has fair skin and pink eyes.

    Concordia has yellow hair in a thick braid down here back. Two pieces of her hair stick up on top of her head, similar in shape to a bow. She has fair skin and brown eyes.

    Calypso did not see Anthea nor Concordia often, but recalls them being sweet teenage girls that tried to care for her. However, their duties were to care for N only, and they were punished if caught tending to Calypso.

    Anthea has a Gothitelle, and Concordia has a Gardevoir.

    Keys: N, Natural Harmonia, N Harmonia, Natural Harmonia Gropius, Caly's stepbrother, Calypso's stepbrother

    Natural (more commonly referred to as just "N") is Calypso's younger stepbrother. He is a year younger than her. He can understand the words of Pokemon.

    He wears his long green hair in a low ponytail. He has blue eyes and fair skin, and is usually seen wearing his signature cube necklace (or having it slung in his belt loop) and casual attire. He is 6'0" and has a calm, curious aura around him.

    He helped Calypso escape Team Plasma. They had a strong bond, though didn't quite agree on the idea of Pokemon being "free".

    Calypso has not seen N since she escaped Team Plasma, though she would like to see him again.

    N owns the Pokemon Reshiram, Carracosta, Archeops, Vanilluxe, Zoroark, and Klinklang. He has also befriended a Darmanitan, Sigilyph, Joltik, Purrloin, and others.

    Ghetsis is the leader and true mastermind behind Team Plasma. He is around 50 years old, 6'6" and is very menacing, with bright red eyes. He has long pale green hair typically worn in a low ponytail, with three strands sticking up vertically, two on the sides of his head, and one on top. He is typically seen wearing a regal cloak that covers most of his body, including his right arm which was burned in an accident with his Pokemon and is barely usable. He wearing a futuristic eyepatch over his right eye, that is silver and red. He wears a sleek, all black suit under his cloak.

    Ghetsis is Calypso's stepfather. He married her mother and adopted her, though Calypso rejected this. Upon realizing he could not conform her to his will, he began to abuse her physically and mentally. In an act of humiliation, after being embarrassed by her, he forcefully cut her long, cherished red hair, making it short and choppy.

    Ghetsis has not been seen by Calypso since she left Team Plasma. She hates him, and hopes he is dead, having no shame in such thoughts.

    Keys: gaming, gaming streams, streams, streaming, stream

    Calypso does gaming livestreams some nights, fundraising for the shelter and spreading awareness about the Pokemon there as well. She makes a good amount of money this way, most of which goes back to funding the shelter, the rest towards personal needs.

    She plays a variety of games from farming games to shooters, usually depending on what her friends want to play.

    She occasionally streams with popular gym leaders, and even the Galar Champion Leon is her friend.
