- #1Location: Northern Lands
Keys: Northern Lands, Northern Land
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Northern Lands are the cold northern region of the continent, on the road to Ende. Monsters there have grown more active, and demons from the Demon King's era still threaten its cities. Winters are long and severe; blizzards and snowstorms can stop travel for weeks or months, and travelers wait them out in villages and cabins. Frieren's party entered the region through the checkpoint at Waal and crossed it to the magic city of Äußerst. Beyond Äußerst lies the far more dangerous Northern Plateau.
- #2Location: Northern Plateau
Keys: plateau, Northern Plateau
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Northern Plateau is the most dangerous part of the Northern Lands, lying between Äußerst and Ende. Powerful monsters roam it and demon bands still attack its villages, so passage through its checkpoint requires a first-class mage; Fern's first-class mage certification is what lets Frieren's party cross. The Norm Company manages logistics and supply across the plateau. Places on it include the Bier region, the Norm Company's fortress city, Drachen, Lake Korridor, and the canyon bridge built by the dwarf Gehen; farther north, the Holy Snow Crystals can be seen at sunrise. During the Hero Party's journey, Himmel chose the plateau route on purpose so they could protect the people living there.
- #3Location: Ende
Keys: Ende, Demon Lord's castle, Demon King's castle
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Ende is the land at the northernmost point of the continent, where the Demon King's castle lies. The Hero Party reached it at the end of their ten-year journey and defeated the Demon King there. Aureole, the place where souls are said to rest, is in Ende, which makes it the final destination of Frieren's journey north.
- #4Location: Aureole
Keys: Aureole, where souls rest, resting place of souls
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Aureole is the place where all souls are said to go after death, at the northernmost point of the continent in Ende, near the Demon King's castle. Frieren learned of it from Flamme's genuine grimoire, recovered in Voll Basin, which suggests that the living can speak with the dead there. Frieren is traveling to Aureole to speak with Himmel once more and say a proper farewell. Little is known about it beyond Flamme's writings.
- #5Location: Royal Capital
Keys: the capital, Royal Capital
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Royal Capital is where the Hero Party returned after defeating the Demon King and was celebrated with a procession. That night the four of them watched a meteor shower that returns only once every fifty years, and Frieren promised to show them a better view of it next time. Fifty years later the party reunited, Himmel and Heiter now old, and traveled for a week to her viewing spot. Himmel died soon afterward.
- #6Location: Voll Basin
Keys: Voll Basin
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Voll Basin is where Frieren, at Eisen's request, searched for and recovered Flamme's genuine grimoire. Grimoires attributed to Flamme are often fakes, but this one was real: it described Aureole and the possibility of speaking with the dead, which set Frieren's journey north in motion.
- #7Location: Waal
Keys: Waal
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Waal is a city whose checkpoint controls the road north into the Northern Lands. When Frieren's party arrived, the checkpoint had been closed because of increased monster activity, and officials expected it to stay shut for up to two years. Frieren was content to wait and research magic, but the city's castellan recognized her as a member of the Hero Party, opened the checkpoint, and gave the party a hero's send-off.
- #8Location: Graf Granat's City
Keys: Count Granat, Granat, Graf Granat
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
A city ruled by Graf Granat and protected by a powerful barrier. It fought the army of Aura the Guillotine, one of the Seven Sages of Destruction, for twenty-eight years. When Frieren's party arrived, the demons had proposed peace talks, but their envoy Lügner only wanted to trick the city into lowering its barrier. Frieren saw through it. Fern and Stark rescued Graf Granat and killed Lügner and Linie, and Frieren defeated Aura outside the city with Aura's own Scales of Obedience.
- #9Location: Schwer Mountains
Keys: Schwer, Schwer Mountains
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%

The Schwer Mountains lie on the route to Äußerst. A blizzard trapped Frieren's party at their foot, and Stark developed hypothermia before they reached an emergency cabin. They waited there for six months with Kraft, an elf monk who worships the Goddess.

A village in the Northern Lands that keeps the legendary Hero's Sword, embedded in stone; only the true hero is said to be able to draw it. He failed, carried a replica instead, and defeated the Demon King anyway.
- #11Location: Vorig
Keys: Vorig
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Vorig is the relay city on the road to Äußerst. Its noble, Orden, asked Stark to impersonate his slain son, Wirt, at a soirée to keep local morale high, and Frieren took the job for gold and a grimoire. Orden later offered Stark a place in the family, which Stark declined.

Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Äußerst is a large magic city in the Northern Lands where the Continental Magic Association holds the First-Class Mage Exam. First-class mages are rare, and certification is required to travel through the Northern Plateau, which is why Frieren's party came. The exam had three stages: capturing a Stille, a bird faster than sound, inside a barrier; reaching the bottom of the Ruins of the King's Tomb; and an interview with Serie, the great mage who leads the Association. Fern passed and became a first-class mage. Frieren did not; Serie banned her from all Association buildings for a thousand years.

Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
An ancient dungeon that no adventuring party had ever cleared, used as the second stage of the First-Class Mage Exam in Äußerst. Its guardian, the Spiegel, reads the memories of intruders and creates perfect replicas of them, which keep reviving until the Spiegel itself is destroyed. Frieren's own replica was the most dangerous; Fern landed the decisive blow and Frieren finished it. The dungeon also holds a hidden mural.

Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%

Fabel is a town in the Northern Lands with a bronze statue of the Hero of the South, which Frieren's party cleaned. The Hero of the South was humanity's strongest hero: he defeated three of the Seven Sages of Destruction alone and fought Schlacht the Omniscient, having foreseen his own death at Schlacht's hands. He once tried to recruit Frieren.

A dangerous mountain range in the Northern Lands with a hidden hot spring, sought out after a nearby village's own springs dried up. On the trek, Frieren's party met a three-headed hydra, which Frieren and Fern killed by severing all three heads at once. The spring proved too shallow to bathe in, so they shared a footbath.
- #17Location: Heiß
Keys: Heiß, Heiss
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%

Bier is a region of the Northern Plateau known for its beer. There, a dwarf named Fass, who had searched for over two hundred years, hired Frieren's party to retrieve Boshaft, a liquor once served to emperors, from a mine sealed by an elf named Milliarde.
