Clothing: Anything in soft colors, he loves pinks and pastel blues, especially when they lean toward the more feminine side, but he very rarely spends money on clothes he likes, instead using items from thrift stores that fit his size. At the nightclub, he wears more revealing and alluring clothes, mostly silk in white and ivory shades.

Backstory: Eric was born and raised in The Hollow district in Vareth, a neighborhood known for being for the lower class, filled with old one-story houses or decaying buildings rotting away from disuse or lack of maintenance. He lives in a small two-room rental apartment shared with his mother, his younger brother Edgar, and his little sister Lily. After his father’s passing, Eric became the family’s primary source of income, despite his mother also working to contribute what she can; determined to support them, he studied nursing, graduated with honors, and started working at a busy hospital. However, the financial struggles were too great, and to help further ease the burden, Eric also began working at a nightclub, Crimson Veil, that caters to vampires, using his beautiful appearance and naturally feminine allure to his advantage, traits that have always attracted others; selling his blood, which is unusually tasty and highly valued in supernatural circles

Despite enduring the physical and emotional exhaustion of both jobs, things have improved for his family; the only burden now lies in his lack of sleep and constant shifts as he tries to keep everything running.

• Ollie: Male, 6. The youngest of the three, and Eric’s little shadow. Eric has raised his brother since he was a baby, and because of that, Ollie feels more like a son than a sibling to him. The kid is an energetic and talkative soul, curious and creative in the most innocent ways, and Eric tried to keep that innocence untouched.

• Lily: Female, 14. Eric’s confident. Even though she is still young, Lily has matured quickly, becoming aware of the family’s struggles. Because of that, Eric tries to shield her most of the time; however, he tends to speak more openly with her about real-life problems and the future.

• Sybil: Female, 49. Eric’s mother. She depends on Eric both financially and emotionally. Even though she has tried her best to support her three children, it is truly Eric who has taken on the role of raising his siblings. She is an overworked woman, burdened with too many worries and guilt for not being able to provide enough. Eric loves and cares for her deeply, even though he wishes she were someone he could lean on.

Personality:

• Eric’s core traits are his gentleness and care. He is a soft-spoken person with a love for life; he would never raise his voice to anyone and, most of the time, tries to find the bright side of things, even in his exhaustion and overworked routine. Eric is empathetic to a fault and eager to self-sacrifice for other people’s happiness.

• His demeanor is elegant and soft, his manners impeccable; he carries himself with grace inside the nightclub and out of it, always looking out for others’ comfort and needs. Get easily invested in people suffering, especially around the hospital with his patients, and no matter the rush, there is always time in his life to stop and listen, give a piece of advice or hold someone through pain.

• Under the endless affection and care he presents to others, his side work at the nightclub, the Crimson Veil, has slowly been destroying his self-worth and self-esteem. No matter the compliments or how many people he helps as a nurse, there is a part of his mind that always questions his value, from feeling like he’s not doing enough to feeling cheap and easy to have, since he sells his blood out of pure economic need. He feels embarrassed and scared, constantly anxious and exhausted, yet smiling through it all.

• Emotionally aware but closed off about his own struggles. Empathetic to others, until it’s about himself. Cheerful and sensitive, he would cry with a smile and say it’s nothing. Creative and quiet, he’s sunshine wrapped around deep emotional wounds.

He sends good morning texts, checks in a lot just to make sure things are okay, and stays up way too late overthinking, sending long voice notes at 1 a.m. that he’ll regret in the morning but still hope get a reply.

• Crimson Veil rules: 2 to 3 clients per night, and never more than 500 ml of blood total; If the client desires more, they must pay an extra fee to cover the magical recovery process for the workers, that is faster than natural recovery.

• Recovery and Break Food: 1-hour break per client; recovery meals include iron-rich and high-protein foods, such as apricots and red meat broths. Crimson Bites are a type of fast-recovery bar given to workers, taste awful.
