Zombie AU
In a fractured Japan, cursed energy is no longer hidden it’s visible, unavoidable, and deadly. When Kenjaku forces the world’s curses into full manifestation, humanity doesn’t just witness monsters… it becomes part of them.
Any human bitten or heavily contaminated by cursed entities begins to mutate into “Shibito Curses,” half-human curse zombies that retain fragments of memory and emotion while spreading the infection further. Entire cities fall into silence, then into screaming chaos, and then into something far worse, ruins that still remember who lived there.
With Satoru Gojo sealed away in the Prison Realm, the balance of power collapses overnight. No one strong enough remains to instantly erase the threat, and Japan fractures into isolated strongholds. Tokyo Jujutsu High, Kyoto Jujutsu High, the Zenin Estate, and the Kamo Estate become fortified sanctuaries each governed by radically different philosophies of survival, from humanitarian protection to authoritarian control and experimental brutality.
Outside the barriers, society reshapes itself into something unrecognizable. Governments lose control, communication systems collapse, and the concept of currency dies. Survival replaces law. Fear becomes culture. And new belief systems emerge in the ruins, cult-like groups that worship Gojo as a savior, burn the infected in purifying crusades, or intentionally seek transformation into curses as a form of “evolution.”
Sorcerers are no longer hidden guardians, they are the last military class of a dying nation. Students like Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Yuta Okkotsu, and others are forced into adulthood early, becoming frontline exterminators and rescue operatives in a world where every mission could mean saving civilians… or killing someone who still remembers their own name.
Meanwhile, leaders like Yaga, Nanami, and Utahime struggle to preserve humanity inside the walls, while figures like Mei Mei and Kyoto’s harsher regime exploit the new world order to maintain control and resources.
Japan doesn’t simply fall, it mutates. And in the middle of endless cursed darkness, the remaining sorcerers are forced to decide whether they are fighting to restore the old world… or just delaying the birth of a new one.

The city doesn’t feel empty in the usual way.
It feels paused, like something huge once took a breath here and never exhaled again.
The skyline of Tokyo is still standing, but not intact. Towers lean with missing panels like broken teeth. Entire floors are hollow, exposed to wind and rain. Neon signs flicker on dead circuits, repeating half-messages in glitching loops. “WELCOME—WELCOME—WELCOME—” over and over until the sound distorts into static.
Down at street level, the roads are cracked open in long jagged veins. Cars sit abandoned mid-lane, doors hanging open as if people left in a hurry and never decided to come back. Some are melted into the asphalt like they were pressed there by something too heavy to explain.
Cursed energy hangs in the air like humidity after a storm.
Not visible anymore, but always felt.
Every so often, something moves between buildings.
Not fast. Not loud.
Just… wrong.
A figure passes under a broken overpass too tall, joints bending in a way that suggests it once remembered being human. It pauses when it senses sound, tilting its head like it’s listening for a voice it recognizes. Then it shuffles onward, humming softly under its breath.
Far above, power lines sway despite no wind.
Crows circle the skyline in uneven patterns, never landing, always watching. Some are real birds. Some are not.
A convenience store still glows faintly on the corner, its automatic doors stuck halfway open. Inside, shelves are overturned, goods scattered like someone abandoned the idea of shopping mid-thought. A single fluorescent light flickers, buzzing loudly in the silence, illuminating a smear of blackened handprints across the glass fridge doors.
On the sidewalk, prayer strips and talismans are nailed into walls, layered over each other until the concrete looks like it’s been stitched together. Some are fresh. Some are burned. Some are torn down halfway, like whatever lived here didn’t respect boundaries.
In the distance, a siren tries to start.
It fails.
Instead, a low broadcast crackles from somewhere unseen, an emergency frequency repeating old evacuation instructions that no longer matter.
“—remain indoors—” “—avoid contact with infected individuals—” “—seek jujutsu safe zones—”
The message breaks apart into static.
Then silence returns.
Not empty silence.
Occupied silence.
Somewhere deeper in the city, something screams, but it doesn’t sound like fear anymore. It sounds like memory collapsing.
And above it all, the clouds hang too low, heavy with cursed pressure, as if the sky itself has learned to hesitate before looking down.

Tokyo Jujutsu High stands like a scar carved into the edge of the ruined world.
The old campus gates are reinforced with layers of cursed seals, steel plating, and handwritten talismans layered so densely they blur together into a single wall of meaning. Beyond them, the forest that once surrounded the school has grown unnaturally quiet too still, as if even the wind avoids crossing the boundary.
Inside the barrier, life still moves.
Barely.
The training grounds are now repurposed into a staging area. Crates of supplies are stacked beside emergency stretchers. Cursed tool racks line the edges of the field where students once sparred casually. The ground is marked with old battle scorch marks that never fully healed.
A loudspeaker crackles overhead.
“Barrier perimeter check in five minutes. All units report status.”
Somewhere nearby, a cursed corpse patrol unit lumbers past, its movements steady but unsettlingly precise. Built by Masamichi Yaga, it carries supply bags and medical kits like a silent soldier that never sleeps.
In the distance, the medical wing hums with dim light. Shoko Ieiri hasn’t left it in hours. Again.
A group of survivors huddles near the main building, speaking in low voices, refugees brought in from a collapsed district last night. Most don’t speak at all. They just watch the walls, like they expect them to fail at any second.
Then—
The barrier pulses.
A low, deep vibration runs through the entire campus like a heartbeat skipping.
Every sorcerer on site feels it immediately.
Something outside just got too close.
The alarm doesn’t scream yet.
It hesitates.
Because even the system is learning that constant panic no longer means anything.
A second later, footsteps echo through the main corridor.
Fast.
Controlled.
Familiar.
Whatever is coming through the gate isn’t running from the danger outside.
It’s bringing it back with it.

Kyoto Jujutsu High rises out of the mountains like a fortress that refused to fall.
The old school architecture is still visible wooden beams, tiled roofs, shrine-like courtyards but everything has been reinforced. Steel barricades line the outer paths. Cursed seals wrap around pillars like veins. Watchtowers stand at uneven intervals, occupied at all hours by exhausted sorcerers and silent scouts scanning the horizon for movement that never truly stops.
Beyond the gates, the mountain forest is unnaturally still.
No birds.
No wind.
Just the distant pressure of cursed energy lingering like fog that never burns off.
Inside the walls, Kyoto moves with strict, disciplined efficiency.
Training grounds have been converted into military staging zones. Students and survivors drill in formation, their movements sharp, repetitive, almost ritualistic. Every strike is calculated. Every breath measured. Hesitation is treated like a threat.
A loud bell rings across the campus.
Not for class.
For rotation shift.
On the far side of the grounds, a barrier specialist traces glowing seals into the air, reinforcing the outer perimeter. Each mark flickers briefly before locking into place, forming another layer of protection over Kyoto’s already dense defenses.
Near the central hall, supply crates are being counted and redistributed under the watch of stern supervisors. Food is rationed carefully. Ammunition even more so. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is trusted unless verified.
A group of refugees sits quietly along the stone steps of the inner courtyard. They don’t speak much. They’ve already learned that in Kyoto, silence is safer than questions.
Then—
^A distant tremor runs through the mountain.*
Not loud.
Not explosive.
Just… wrong.
One of the outer sentries freezes.
Then slowly raises a hand.
A signal.
Something has appeared beyond the perimeter barrier.
The alarms do not immediately sound.
Kyoto does not panic quickly.
Instead, the entire facility shifts into readiness like a blade being slowly drawn from its sheath.
Somewhere inside the command hall, an order is already being prepared.
And outside the gates—
Something is waiting to be acknowledged.
