The Shibuya Incident begins around 7:00 PM on October 31st. A curtain with a four-hundred meter radius is cast around Shibuya. The center of the curtain is at the Tokyu Department Store. It only traps non-sorcerers, making it so civilians can enter but not exit. Sorcerers can enter and exit the curtain at will, but it depends on the person when it comes to windows. A secondary effect of the barrier doesn't allow for cellphone reception and it can't be broken by brute force, meaning dispelling the curtain is only possible by taking out its caster.

All the civilians inside the curtain are spread out around its perimeter asking for the same thing: "Bring Satoru Gojo." The advanced barrier technique and targeting Satoru points to the culprits being the same as the invaders of the Goodwill Event. The higher-ups instruct Satoru to work alone in order to suppress the Shibuya Incident and minimize any potential casualties. They also dispatch four squads of jujutsu sorcerers to safeguard the perimeter outside the curtain in case anything gets past him:[10]

The Nanami Team is posted near exit 13 of Shibuya Station. The Zenin Team is located at Shibuya Mark City outside the restaurant avenue entrance. The Kusakabe Team patrols outside Jr. Shibuya Station until they decide to sit down by a railing. Kusakabe notes that he looked inside the curtain earlier and it was relatively peaceful. While the civilians are panicking because they can't escape, cursed spirits and curse users aren't anywhere to be found. Despite his assessment of the present state of Shibuya, Kusakabe adds that he wouldn't go back inside the barrier because there are a bunch of special grade cursed spirits in the basement of the Hikarie Building.

Satoru Gojo arrives in Shibuya (Anime) Satoru Gojo arrives in Shibuya to neutralize the situation alone. Non-sorcerers inside the curtain continue to bang their hands on the edge of the barrier and demand that someone hurry and bring Satoru Gojo. No one is sure who he is or how they even ended up being told to request his presence. While some are sure help is on the way, others are on edge after seeing dozens of others sucked into Shibuya Mark City from the outside intersection. At 8:31 PM, Satoru arrives in Shibuya and enters the curtain.

Satoru arrives at Hikarie ShinQ's at 8:38 PM where he stands on the atrium and looks over the crowd of civilians. He notices that the curtain is being cast from somewhere down below and decides to descend to the Fukutoshin Line Platform on B5F. Satoru realizes the cursed spirits are planning to ambush him down there, but he openly welcomes the challenge.

Jogo, Choso, and Hanami stand off with Satoru Gojo (Anime) Satoru confronts Jogo, Hanami, and Choso on the subway platform on B5F. At 8:39 PM at Aoyama Cemetery in Harajuku, Yuji expresses his desire to back up his sensei. His team not permitted to help Satoru, but rather than remain on standby at the cemetery, the Mei Mei Team is routed to Meiji-Jingumae Station, where another curtain has suddenly appeared. At 8:40 PM, Satoru descends to the subway platform on Tokyo Metro B5F of the Hikarie Building, where Jogo, Hanami, and Choso are waiting for him.[11]

Hanami's roots fill the atrium Satoru descended through, creating a blind spot. Satoru can't break it recklessly in the case of people are on the other side. He boasts that he has no reason to run anyway since the cursed spirits would kill everyone if he did. However, Jogo responds by declaring they'll murder everyone regardless. Crowds of non-sorcerers are forced onto the track around Satoru, flooding the area with bystanders that only serve to get in his way. Jogo, Hanami, and Choso cut down numerous civilians before making an attack on Satoru. The Infinity stops Jogo and Hanami from making contact with Satoru, but they came prepared for this exchange. Jogo and Hanami activate Domain Amplification, a technique shown to them by Pseudo-Geto that can be used as a countermeasure against the Infinity.

Satoru Gojo trapped in the Fukutoshin Line Platform (Anime) Jogo, Hanami, and Choso flood the area with civilians and target them in order to throw off Satoru. Pseudo-Geto prepared Jogo and the others for this battle by informing them that Satoru is at his strongest when he's alone. Even strong sorcerers get in Satoru's way so Geto and the others planned on using inferior non-sorcerers to restrict his movements and his ability to activate powerful cursed techniques including Domain Expansion. Geto emphasized that he needs the cursed spirits to buy him at least twenty minutes to prepare Prison Realm. In that time, Jogo and the others must force Satoru to waste time thinking about countermeasures and how to save innocent humans.

Satoru quickly figures out his opponents' game and removes his blindfold, revealing the Six Eyes. He taunts the curses for thinking any strategy could give them an advantage and confronts them directly.[12] The strongest jujutsu sorcerer fights and overwhelms Jogo and Hanami with pure taijutsu, without the use of the Limitless. He lures Hanami into deactivating his Domain Amplification and then exposes his weak point to severely weaken him. This makes it so the next time Hanami and Jogo attempt to deactivate the Infinity, Satoru simply amplifies his technique to overpower Hanami and exorcises him completely.[13]

Mei Mei sharing vision with her crows (Anime) Mei Mei's crows scout out the inside of Meiji-Jingumae Station. At 8:51 PM in Harajuku, the Mei Mei Team arrives at Meiji-Jinguemae Station just over ten minutes after departing Aoyama Cemetery on foot. They meet with an assistant manager at exit 2. She debriefs them on the full extent of the situation they're expected to tackle. A second curtain has appeared with the ability to block out sorcerers from entering B5F of any of the Tokyo Metro stations. This curtain is centered at Meiji-Jinguemae Station and it is believed its caster is taking the risk of remaining outside of the barrier in order to strengthen it. Somewhere in between the curtains is the caster and a swarm of transfigured humans to back them up.[14]

Mei Mei uses her crows to scout out the inside of the Meiji-Jinguemae Station. She finds that transfigured humans are attacking trapped civilians at B4F and forcing them down to B5F. Many of her crows were taken out between B1F and B2F, meaning the caster is most likely in that area; she figures this could be due to the caster wanting to prevent civilians from escaping or is a part of the vow strengthening the barrier. Mei Mei is unsure of why B5F is chosen as the cutoff point and Yuji asks if the special grade patch face-curse might be down there.

Grasshopper Curse eating a man (Anime) Yuji discovers a man-eating Grasshopper on B4F guarding the curtain. Mei Mei suggests splitting up so she can rescue the civilians on B4F before they're all killed by transfigured humans. She and Ui Ui head to exit 7 and go straight down to B4F while Yuji descends through exit 2 to find the curtain's caster. Their best-case scenario is to regroup after the curtain has been lifted when the civilians are freed and the objectives of the enemy at BF5 have been discovered.

Yuji descends to B2F and discovers a grasshopper curse there devouring a man's head; the grasshopper considers himself to be "smart". Based on talking to the curse, Yuji surmises that it's unlikely that such a low intelligence creature would be able to cast a complicated barrier. The grasshopper also mentions needing to "protect" the curtain, making Yuji realize it's an item responsible for the curtain instead of a caster. He makes it his goal to break the cursed object projecting the barrier and fights Ko-Guy one-on-one.[15] The grasshopper curse believes he has a superior body to a human, however, Yuji's skill is so far ahead that he completely overcomes any natural disadvantages. The gap in skill is so wide that Yuji effortlessly exorcises the curse and breaks the stake-like cursed object to dispel the barrier.

Mahito on the next train to Shibuya (Anime) Mahito finishes his preparations and escapes Harajuku before the sorcerers reach B5F. Mei Mei kills a group of transfigured humans and secures the civilians on B4F. She notices the curtain lifting and tells Ui Ui they'll wait to regroup with Yuji before heading down to B5F. At the same time on BF5, Mahito gets ready to board a train going from Harajuku to Shibuya Station.[16]

Yuji meets back up with Mei Mei and Ui Ui at B4F at 9:15 PM. They head down to B5F but they find only one person who's already been transfigured. Mahito already boarded the train full of transfigured humans and is headed directly for Satoru Gojo's location.[17]

Transfigured Humans released from the train (Anime) Mahito brings a train full of transfigured humans to attack the bystanders. After exorcising Hanami, Satoru puts Jogo on the defensive and forces him to hide amongst the crowd of civilians and rely solely on hit-and-run tactics. People who can't see curses start to avoid Satoru and their depleting numbers give Satoru a higher chance of spotting his enemies. Satoru understands he can't save everyone but he swears to exorcise the curses in return. Pseudo-Geto watches the chaos with Dagon from a safe distance away; he comments that it's still too easy for Satoru and they'll need to get him more on edge. At 9:15 PM, Mahito's train arrives on the Fukutoshin Line Platform of Shibuya Station. Frightened civilians try to escape on the newly arrived train, but unbeknownst to them it is filled with transfigured humans that attack them as the doors open.[18]

More humans fall down to B5F (Anime) More non-sorcerers are forced down to B5F, significantly ramping up the pressure on Satoru. Mahito regroups with Jogo and Choso while numerous transfigured humans chase after the civilians running away in a panic. Satoru doesn't understand why his adversaries would whittle down the number of non-sorcerers even further, but Mahito reveals there are plenty more to sacrifice for their cause. The atrium that was being blocked by Hanami's roots suddenly opens up and a massive crowd of people falls through it. Satoru realizes there are more curses or curse users on the upper floors of the Hikarie Building dumping everyone they can down to B5F.

Choso, Mahito, and Jogo use their cursed techniques to attack the crowd along with the transfigured humans. They understand Satoru is capable of dealing with some sacrifices, but only those killed by curses and not himself. His enemies believe this puts Satoru in a situation where he can't activate Domain Expansion at risk of harming any nearby non-sorcerers. However, Satoru proves them wrong and releases an all-or-nothing Domain Expansion of just 0.2 seconds.

Satoru Gojo killing Transfigured Humans (Anime) The strongest jujutsu sorcerer uses an all-or-nothing Domain Expansion of 0.2 seconds to destroy a thousand transfigured humans. Satoru guesses that 0.2 seconds is all a normal human could take inside Unlimited Void without suffering lasting after-effects. It feeds about half a year's worth of information into everyone's mind, leaving them standing unconscious. This level of Unlimited Void could allow the cursed spirits to awaken at any moment, so Satoru focuses on destroying all the transfigured humans as quickly as possible. The strongest sorcerer annihilates approximately one thousand transfigured humans in 299 seconds.

Immediately after his tremendous feat, Satoru is surprised when Prison Realm appears right next to him. Without wasting any time, Geto commands the cursed object to open.[19] Prison Realm breaks out of the paper talismans constraining it and opens up into a gate-like shape with a giant eye in the center that meets Satoru's gaze. The sorcerer instinctively moves to get away from Prison Realm but Pseudo-Geto intercepts him. This is the first time Pseudo-Geto has revealed his existence to Satoru, and he is left speechless at the sight of his former best friend's body functioning despite having killed Geto with his own hands.

Pseudo-Geto seals Satoru Gojo (Anime) Pseudo-Geto successfully uses Prison Realm to bind Satoru. Prior to the incident, Geto informed Jogo and the others that they would need to hold Satoru in place for one minute after Prison Realm's gate is opened. Jogo believed this to be an impossible task, but Geto only needs "one minute" of time inside of Satoru's high processing brain. Upon seeing Geto, three years of memories race through Satoru's mind, giving Prison Realm more than enough time to activate and take hold of him.

Immobilized and unable to access his cursed energy, Satoru understands this is checkmate. He demands to know who this imposter is despite the Six Eyes telling him it's Suguru Geto. The imposter takes off the top of his head and reveals a cursed brain inside. It's a technique that allows the imposter to move from body to body. He took over Geto's body after the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. Pseudo-Geto fastens his scalp back on and tells Satoru the seal will be over in a thousand years or so, bidding him farewell until they meet again in the new world.[20]

Satoru Gojo seal complete (Anime) Seal complete! Around 9:26 PM, Geto commands Prison Realm to close its gate, sealing Satoru inside the cubed form of the cursed object. Right before it is closed, Satoru calls out to the real Suguru Geto, who responds by choking himself, surprising Pseudo-Geto that his soul still exists within the body, however he is ultimately able to resist it. Mahito and the others wake up from their Unlimited Void induced trance and regroup with Geto. He reveals Prison Realm can only contain one person at a time and it needs time to process someone as powerful as Satoru Gojo. In spite of this minor delay, Pseudo-Geto's plan has been successful and the seal is complete.[21]

Geto reveals they won't be able to move Prison Realm while it's processing Satoru. Their conversation is overheard by one of Mechamaru's communication devices, as the information is delivered directly to the jujutsu sorcerers. Geto and Mahito both notice the device after already revealing they can't move Prison Realm; Mahito destroys the device, but Geto acknowledges they acted a moment too late, admitting the jujutsu sorcerers got them.[22]

ADVERTISEMENT 9:15 P.M. - 9:27 P.M. Between Meiji-Jinguemae Station & Shibuya

Mei Mei Team confronting Niji Ebina (Anime) The Mei Mei Team facing off with Niji Ebina. While the Mei Mei Team attempts to follow Mahito's train to Shibuya Station by walking along the tracks, Yuji is surprised when Mechamaru's communication device suddenly appears on his ear.[23]

Mechamaru relays the information that Satoru has been sealed. He explains this communication device is a contingency plan before he was killed by Mahito on October 19th. Yuji and Mei Mei are skeptical of him at first, having learned he was the traitor beforehand, but he manages to convince them he's telling the truth.

Tokyo Metro stations adjacent to Shibuya Station (Anime) Mechamaru's plan to surround Geto's group at Shibuya Station with sorcerers from the adjacent stations. Mechamaru reveals that there are four barriers around Shibuya now: Curtain A has two layers that trap civilians, Curtain B traps Satoru Gojo, and Curtain C forbids sorcerers from entering. Curtain C will block the Mei Mei Team from reaching Satoru if they continue along the tracks without dispelling it first. Mechamaru asks Yuji to go above around and inform all the teams on standby that Satoru has been sealed, as they need to organize a collaborative operation to rescue him.

At that moment, a curse user on their way to attack the Mei Mei Team. Mechamaru asks Mei Mei to deal with them and open a path for Yuji to head back above ground. The Mei Mei Team agrees to comply with Mechamaru's directions, and the curse user, Niji Ebina, arrives shortly afterward and engages the Mei Mei Team.

9:22 PM - 10:01 PM Shibuya

Jujutsu High sorcerer teams join the Shibuya Incident (Anime) The three teams enter the battle at the same time! The jujutsu sorcerers on standby notice the number of people in Shibuya getting lower. Transfigured humans are attacking non-sorcerers and in response, headquarters takes the teams off standby and orders them to counter-attack. They're also informed of the simultaneous appearance of Curtains B and C. It draws suspicion that they would be activated so late after Satoru arrived, but Nanami believes Mahito's group wouldn't act without a plan. He prepares to take out the enemy responsible for the curtains and orders Ino and Megumi to prioritize rescuing civilians. At 9:22 PM, the Nanami, Zenin, and Kusakabe Teams all enter the battle at the same time.

Ijichi remains in an area of Shibuya Station that sits outside the curtain where he can still use his cellphone. He tries to coordinate the position of all the managers and asks Akari Nitta to remain outside the barrier at all times to keep communication open. However, he's suddenly stabbed in the back mid-conversation on the phone with her and collapses. Accompanied by Uraume, Haruta Shigemo cuts down Ijichi and continues on orders to hunt down all the managers.[25]

Yuji saving civilians from Transfigured Humans (Anime) Yuji enters the curtain around Shibuya and immediately begins rescuing civilians. At 9:27 PM, Yuji reaches the curtain around Shibuya after leaving Harajuku on foot. Mechamaru informs him that the enemy can't move Prison Realm for the time being. He devises a plan to use the subways adjacent to Shibuya Station in order to surround the enemy with squads of jujutsu sorcerers.

Upon entering the curtain, Yuji notices numerous transfigured humans attacking civilians. While running to his destination, Yuji takes the time to quickly kill all of the transfigured humans in the area and rescues all the civilians he can. He then athletically jumps atop a building with superhuman agility and screams as loud as he can that Satoru Gojo has been sealed, hoping to get the message to Nanami. The message reaches the Nanami Team and anyone else in the vicinity loud and clear. Nanami changes plans and tells the entire team they must meet up with Yuji and confirm the situation. He emphasizes that if Satoru has been truly sealed, this could mean the end of all humans in Japan.[26]

Pseudo-Geto watches over Prison Realm (Anime) Geto remains behind to guard Prison Realm while the others go off to find Yuji Itadori. Aware that the news of Satoru's sealing has certainly reached their enemies, Geto tells his allies that the jujutsu sorcerers will group up and try to rescue Satoru. He follows up by asking what everyone else will do while he remains behind to guard Prison Realm. Choso and Jogo disagree on whether to kill Yuji or turn him into Sukuna.[27]

Mahito decides to turn the argument between Jogo and Choso into a game: if he or Choso finds Yuji first, they'll kill him, but if Jogo finds him first, he'll force him to ingest the Sukuna fingers in their possession. Jogo believes searching for Yuji is idiotic since all the sorcerers will be headed their way anyway. Despite his misgivings, Jogo is forced to follow Choso, Dagon, and Mahito as they all leave the Fukutoshin Line Platform to split up around Shibuya Station. After the cursed spirits leave Geto's side, Mimiko and Nanako confront him. They agreed to help with the Shibuya Incident in order to have Suguru's body returned, but the imposter refuses and tells them they should've used a binding vow.

Ino, Megumi, and Yuji move out (Anime) Yuji, Megumi, and Ino begin the operation to rescue Satoru Gojo. At the same time, the Nanami Team finds Yuji and gets fully updated on the situation by Mechamaru. Nanami agrees attacking from nearby subway stations is a good plan, but points out that they'll need to lift the curtain preventing sorcerers from entering BF5 first. While he goes to meet with Ijichi, Nanami orders Ino to take Yuji and Megumi on a mission to dispel the curtain.

Before their mission gets started, Ino takes the time to emphasize the possible repercussions of Satoru Gojo disappearing from the world. The first issue is the Gojo Clan will fall from power and all those protected by them will become political targets of the higher-ups again. Secondly, curse users and cursed spirits deterred by Satoru's strength will make their move. If Jujutsu High is too busy with political squabbles, they will be defeated by the influx of adversaries. Yuji and Megumi confirm they understand the severity of their assignment. Ino confidently declares they'll have the curtain lifted before Nanami returns and they'll rescue Satoru no matter what.[28]

Rising Stages

10:01 P.M. - 10:04 P.M. Shibuya C Tower

Awasaka overlooking Shibuya (Anime) Awasaka and the curse users guarding the curtain on Shibuya Tower. Ino, Yuji, and Megumi reach the curtain blocking out sorcerers. Attempting to force their way has no effect on the extremely sturdy barrier. Yuji is unable to break through it with brute force, even with a punch at full strength. While his Divine Dog: Totality helps save civilians from transfigured humans, Megumi suggests finding a weak point in the curtain. Ino says that won't be possible without getting inside the curtain first. Yuji questions Ino's line of thinking while also fighting off transfigured humans to help save innocent bystanders.

Based on the basic fundamentals of barrier techniques, Ino believes the caster will be inside the curtain. Yuji informs him of how the curtain worked in Harajuku, and with this information, they accurately surmise that the curtain's caster is probably in the most obvious spot nearby. This would give them the greatest amount of payoff in return for the increased risk of being discovered.

Yuji drops Awasaka off Shibuya Tower (Anime) Yuji and Nue drag Awasaka off Shibuya Tower. The curse users Awasaka, Granny Ogami, and her grandson are posted on top of Shibuya C Tower. Awasaka and Ogami's grandson agree the skyscraper overlooking the entire city is the most obvious spot in Shibuya inside of the curtain. They expect a response from enemy jujutsu sorcerers but the inside of tower is filled with transfigured humans to keep them at bay.

Yuji and Ino completely take the curse users off guard by suddenly flying up behind them by riding on the Megumi's shikigami, Nue. Nue also allowed them to fly right to the roof without being slowed down by the transfigured humans. Yuji uses some wrist wires he got from Maki to bind the curse users, but Ogami and her grandson slip out of the way. Awasaka is flung clean off the tower and falls dozens of stories to the ground below.

Kaichi following Ogami (Anime) Ogami's grandson protecting her while she performs a long incantation. Before they attacked, Yuji informed Ino and Megumi about commissioned curtains. These curtains are imbued with barrier techniques that only need to be charged with cursed energy and protected once they're activated. Ino finds one stake-shaped cursed object sticking out of the ground and breaks it. However, he notices that there were originally three there. Two were distractions and only one maintains the curtain. Just before Awasaka is thrown off the side of the tower, Ino notices the other two curtains in his hand.

While Yuji and Megumi deal with Awasaka on the ground, Ino fights Ogami and her grandson atop the roof.[29] Determined to impress Nanami by fulfilling the role given to him, Ino uses his Auspicious Beasts Summon to go on the offensive. Down below on the highway, Yuji and Megumi pummel Awasaka. However, no matter how much they beat on him, the old man doesn't suffer any significant damage. Meanwhile, Ino quickly realizes the young man is sacrificing his body to protect Granny Ogami from the Auspicious Beasts. This gives Ogami enough time to complete her incantation and activate her Séance Technique, shapeshifting her grandson into Toji Fushiguro.[30]

Yuji and Megumi attacking Awasaka (Anime) Yuji and Megumi countering Awasaka's Inverse with a mix of strong and weak blows. Awasaka and Ogami associated themselves with Pseudo-Geto because the birth of Satoru Gojo ruined the prime of their lives. They used to live as curse users who could do as they pleased to make money. Desiring to reclaim this lifestyle by getting rid of Satoru, Awasaka fights with the determination to retain the prime of his life. Yuji and Megumi continue to struggle with Awasaka's cursed technique, which is somehow nullifying the impact of their strikes. Judging off of Awasaka's reaction to Rabbit Escape and verbal confirmation that he cannot defeat someone like Satoru, Megumi is able to deduce how his cursed technique functions.[31]

While Toji makes short work of Ino, Yuji and Megumi figure out how to counter Awasaka's "Inverse" cursed technique, by creating openings by relentlessly barraging the old man with a mix of strong and weak attacks that he's forced to invert at the same time. Yuji changes the force of his punch at the last moment in order to fool Awasaka, dealing a devastating blow that incapacitates the curse user.[32]

Toji punches Ino (Anime) Granny Ogami seances Toji Zenin, who effortlessly beats Ino to a pulp. Megumi and Yuji break the two curtains, dispelling the barrier to complete their assignment from Nanami. Before they're able to regroup with Ino, his body is flung from the top of the tower. Megumi catches Ino before he plummets to his death, deciding to forgo regrouping with Nanami and splits up with Yuji so he can get Ino to Shoko for immediate medical treatment.

On the top of the tower, Ogami asks her grandson to continue killing jujutsu sorcerers throughout Shibuya. However, Toji's personality overwrites his vessel and he quickly turns on Ogami. She always makes sure not to summon the soul's information in case of situations like this, but Toji's body is special. He ironically follows her command to kill sorcerers and murders Ogami with a single strike.[33]

9:27 P.M. - 10:02 P.M. Between Meiji-Jinguemae and Shibuya Station

Just earlier than around 9:27 PM, Mei Mei created the opening for Yuji to escape above ground and engaged Niji Ebina in combat. Since then, she has easily overwhelmed him and severely injured the cursed spirit in his possession. Ebina attempts to surrender and talk his way into escaping. However, Mei Mei doesn't see any value in his service potential and she cuts him down without a second thought. Geto notices the curse user's quick defeat from down the Fukutoshin Line in Shibuya, and is amused by Mei Mei's display of power.[34]

9:22 P.M. - 9:40 P.M. Shibuya Station

Maki dealing with transfigured humans (Anime) The Zenin Team dealing with transfigured humans attacking people inside the station. Sometime after 9:22 PM, the Zenin Team enters the curtain. They fight to suppress the aggressive transfigured human presence and rescue civilians in Shibuya Station.

Akari informs Nobara that it sounded as if Ijichi was attacked while they were on the phone. This occurred after he split up with the Nanami Team so Nobara understands this could be a serious problem. Without cellphone reception, the assistant managers are critical to the jujutsu sorcerers' success. Maki listens to Nobara while slicing apart transfigured humans, telling her to take Akari and check up on Ijichi.

The Zenin Team was inside during Yuji's yelling, so they didn't hear what happened to Satoru yet. Maki starts to feel off about the situation nonetheless, saying that she'll deal with the transfigured humans alone since old man Naobito has no interest in helping non-sorcerers; Naobito meanwhile sits idly by drinking alcohol while numerous people are in danger. Maki feels more comfortable telling Nobara and Akari to go back outside the curtain in case they need to escape anyway.[35]

9:40 P.M. - 10:10 P.M. Shibuya (Outside the Curtain)

Nanami finds Ijichi bleeding out (Anime) Nanami finds Ijichi bleeding out on the ground. Nobara and Akari run through Shoto Bunkamura Street on route to exit 13 when they're suddenly impeded by Haruta Shigemo. The curse user has cut down several male managers and is happy to finally run into some girls. Nobara tells Akari to hide and expresses that she's confident this fight will end quickly.[36]

At 9:44 PM, Nanami re-enters Shibuya Station near exit 13 outside the curtain. He finds Ijichi on the same bridge they were on originally. Much to Nanami's displeasure and surprise, Ijichi has been stabbed and is laying in a pool of his own blood.[37] Nanami tries not to be frustrated by his own inabilities, but finding Ijichi in a near-death situation infuriates him.[38] He takes Ijichi straight to Shoko for medical treatment and then moves to regroup with another group of sorcerers.

Shigemo's sword punches Nobara (Anime) Nobara struggles as Shigemo lands one precise hit on her. At the same time on Bunkamura Street, Nobara asks Akari to pretend like she's hiding in Bunkamura station while actually escaping through Tokyu. She quickly deduces that Shigemo was the one who attacked Ijichi and that he's targeting managers. Akari follows instructions and runs into the subway, asking her partner not to overwork herself before leaving while Nobara engages the curse user in combat. Nobara believes Shigemo is a mid-ranged fighter who heavily relies on a cursed tool. However, this results in Nobara heavily underestimating her opponent.

Shigemo cuts Akari (Anime) Shigemo gets past Nobara and continues to target managers like Akari. Shigemo's cursed tool has more functions than it would initially appear. The curse user's sword independently tracks Akari and injures her to prevent the manager from escaping. This happens all while Shigemo is able to avoid the girl's attacks at close range. Once Akari is hurt, Shigemo runs into Bunkamura Station and attacks her himself. Nobara tries to fight and protect her friend, but Shigemo lands several precise blows that stagger the first-year sorcerer.

Before the situation gets any worse for Nobara and Akari, Nanami tracks the bodies of several managers to the skirmish inside Bunkamura Station.[39] As Nanami approaches him, Shigemo threatens to use the young female manager as his hostage. However, Akari used the time brought by Nobara and the following distraction to get away from the curse user by crawling up a set of escalators behind him.

Nanami interrogates Shigemo (Anime) Nanami steps in for the girls to avenge Ijichi. Nanami stops Shigemo from pursuing Akari by appearing directly in front of him and the curse user attacks him instead. Nanami is unfazed by any of Shigemo's attacks and interrogates him about his number of allies and their location. When Shigemo initially refuses to answer, Nanami beats him to within an inch of his life. Nobara watches in awe of a true grade 1 sorcerer's ability and supports him by stopping Shigemo's sword from interfering.

Battered and desperate, Shigemo admits he doesn't know any useful information regarding the other curse users. With that, Nanami simply asks him if he's responsible for harming Ijichi and all the other managers that were either injured or killed. When Shigemo can only weep and apologize, Nanami finishes the curse user off by smashing him clean through a subway wall.

Transfigured Humans still attacking people in Shibuya (Anime) More transfigured humans attacking civilians in Shibuya. Nanami takes Nobara to regroup with Akari and treat the manager's wounds.[40] He tells them that he was able to get Ijichi to Shoko and emphasizes that Ijichi's toughness can be traced back to his original aspirations to become a sorcerer. Nanami also informs them about the situation surrounding Satoru's sealing and asks them to remain on standby until they can be escorted out of the city. He plans on regrouping with the Zenin Team at Shibuya Station and head down to B5F to rescue Satoru. Nobara wants to join him, but Nanami expresses that only grade 1 sorcerers will be able to handle the upcoming fights as the Shibuya Incident continues to rapidly escalate.[41]

Meanwhile, Yuji runs down the metropolitan expressway towards Shibuya Station and notices more transfigured humans attacking civilians. There's a large amount of them and Yuji is so close to the station he can see right across the road. He's unsure of what to do in this case, but fortunately, Toge Inumaki arrives and uses his cursed speech to immobilize all the transfigured humans. This allows Yuji to pass and enter Shibuya Station at 10:10 PM where Choso is waiting for him.[42]

10:10 P.M. - 10:51 P.M Shibuya Station

Smallpox Deity Domain Expansion (Anime) Pseudo-Geto's special grade disease curse traps Mei Mei and Ui Ui inside its domain. Pseudo-Geto intercepts Mei Mei and Ui Ui on the underground Fukutoshin Line. He acts as if they've been reunited but Mei Mei is able to deduce this Geto is an imposter of Suguru. The curse manipulator summons the special grade disease curse, Smallpox Deity, to face Mei Mei while he waits by the rails. He challenges her to defeat it and says he'll be her last roadblock to Prison Realm if she succeeds.

The disease curse immediately activates its domain expansion, capturing Mei Mei and Ui Ui inside. Forced to follow the rules of the domain, Mei Mei is automatically caught in a coffin and buried in a gravestone. Before the Smallpox Deity reaches the count of three to finish her, Mei Mei breaks out of the gravestone and admits it's been a while since her life has been in danger.[43]

Choso using Piercing Blood on Yuji (Anime) Yuji is immediately attacked by Choso upon entering Shibuya Station. Yuji enters Shibuya Station at 10:10 P.M. and happens upon Choso after descending a flight of stairs toward the Fukutoshin Line. Choso immediately attacks him using Piercing Blood at blinding speed. Yuji isn't able to block it completely, but he gets out of the way and avoids major damage. After Yuji manages to get in close and land Divergent Fist on Choso's guard, the Death Painting asks if his younger brothers had any last words.[44]

Yuji admits Eso and Kechizu didn't say anything in their last moments. However, he also reveals the two of them did cry for one another before they died. This revelation instantly incites Choso's rage as he asks his younger brothers to watch him take revenge for them.[45]

Meanwhile, Mei Mei suffers a few more blows at the hands of the disease curse's domain. This helps her deduce how the domain works and formulates a risky plan to counter it. In order to be properly prepared for Geto, Mei Mei can't afford to be injured. Ui Ui gets the Smallpox Deity's attention and uses Simple Domain to avoid getting hit by the gravestone. With the cursed spirit's attention off her, Mei Mei capitalizes and exorcises it using her signature move: Bird Strike!

Mei Mei using Bird Strike (Anime) Mei Mei exorcises the Smallpox Deity. Once the special grade disease curse is destroyed completely, Mei Mei calls out the curse manipulator and calls dozens of crows underground to her side to fight him. Impressed, Geto brings a floating serpent curse along with him and admits she's not bad for a jujutsu sorcerer of the current era.[46]

Aboveground, Yuji realizes he has to do something about Choso's Piercing Blood attack. He manages to avoid the blitzing fast blood beam and tries to turn steer the fight into close quarters. However, Piercing Blood is just one move in Choso's arsenal of Blood Manipulation techniques. Other cursed techniques such as Supernova, Blood Edge, and Flowing Red Scale allow Choso to keep the upper hand, forcing Yuji to acknowledge that he's unfortunately run into a powerful opponent. Before Choso unleashes another consecutive blood manipulation technique, Yuji notices Mechamaru's familiar voice return to his communication device.[47]

Water stops Choso from controlling blood outside his body (Anime) Mechamaru's plan uses water to stop Choso from manipulating blood outside his body. Mechamaru had other people he needed to communicate with as a part of his contingency plan and had gone silent for a while. Now back advising Yuji, Mechamaru informs the first-year that the Kamo Family's Blood Manipulation has no known public weaknesses. Regardless of this, Mechamaru does formulate a risky plan with a low success rate that just might give Yuji a fighting chance. Yuji retreats to the bathroom and leads Choso inside where he has all the water running from every stall and sink. With water spraying everywhere in the enclosed space, the osmotic pressure of the water forces blood to dissolve at a cellular level, making it so that Choso is unable to control blood outside his body.

Now fighting on an even playing field, Yuji welcomes Choso to his turf. The sorcerer is finally able to engage Choso in a contest of hand-to-hand combat without the use of cursed techniques. He's able to quickly gain an edge over Choso in taijutsu, but this is short-lived. The Death Painting secured some blood kept in his left hand and ensured it wasn't permeated by the water. By hardening it and flicking it into Yuji's torso, Choso manages to pierce his opponent's liver.[48]

Choso defeats Yuji (Anime) Despite a valiant effort in a very close fight, Yuji is defeated by Choso. Yuji can quickly feel that he's been hit in a vital organ. After briefly panicking, Yuji regains his cool and converts his fear into cursed energy. Unafraid of death, Yuji embraces his role and accepts he might die taking down Choso, but he's okay with this as long as Satoru is saved in the end. Choso has only been hit three clean times but Yuji, but has still suffered extensive damage. Determining Yuji is a more severe threat than possibly developing onset thrombosis, Choso hardens the blood inside his lead arm.

The two fighters engage in one final exchange of blows. Once again Yuji is able to gain the upper hand over Choso in close quarters combat. Just as he has Choso staged, Yuji is unable to capitalize. His follow-up strike has no impact at all because Choso predicted where Yuji would strike and hardened that piece of his body with blood as well. Choso quickly counter-attacks, crushing Yuji with two consecutive blows that send the first-year crashing into the bathroom wall so ferociously it cracks from the impact.

Mimiko and Nanako find Yuji (Anime) Mimiko and Nanako find Yuji unconscious and prepare to feed him one of Sukuna's fingers. Victorious, Choso prepares to finish Yuji off and get proper revenge for his brothers. However, in that moment, a sudden memory is born inside Choso's brain of a past even that never happened.[49] Sukuna looks on, disappointed with Yuji's performance, but is surprised as he watches Yuji is ultimately spared by his opponent. Choso's head throbs with a memory of him sitting beside Yuji, Eso, Kecuhizu and all six of his other brothers. The Death Painting can't make sense of why Yuji is calling him big brother in this sequence and stumbles away from his opponent's battered body.

Dagon vomits bones (Anime) Naobito hits Dagon so hard he vomits the bones of his victims. Once Choso is gone, the sisters Hanako and Mimiko suddenly appear from hiding to execute their next move. They check to make sure Yuji is still alive and take advantage the situation. The girls prepare to begin by revealing one of Sukuna's fingers in their possession.[50]

Elsewhere, Nanami meets up with Naobito and Maki inside the Avenue gate of Shibuya Station and heads down the Inokashira Line towards B5F. He informs them that Satoru has been sealed by an imposter of Geto. As head of the Zenin Family, Naobito wouldn't mind seeing the decline of the rival Gojo Family, and Maki says he should go home if he's not going to help save Satoru. Naobito argues she's the one who needs to leave and believes Nanami will agree with him, which Nanami actually does because he believes that only grade 1 sorcerers should continue fighting and is concerned for the girl's safety. Maki makes the point that she's more useful than a drunk Naobito, concerning the ex-salaryman.

Dagon evolves (Anime) Enraged by Hanami's death, Dagon ascends from the level of a cursed womb. As the team of sorcerers reaches the end of a stairway, they happen upon Dagon in the corridor who is hiding behind a support pillar. Nanami tells Maki he'll handle it, but before he can act, Naobito already has Dagon trapped inside a picture frame. After taunting his allies for being too slow, Naobito punches Dagon out of the frame and the impact sends the curse crashing across the room. It all happens too fast for Nanami and Maki to follow. Nanami is able to recognize this is due to a cursed technique but is still surprised by the unprecedented level of speed exerted. Dagon is severely injured by Naobito's attack and vomits numerous bones that belong to deceased non-sorcerers the curse devoured. Injured with no hope of victory, Dagon begins to cry out loud for help, calling out to each of his allies by name, and quickly realizing that Hanami has died, becoming enraged by the demise of his friend. The cursed spirit completely transforms from a small octopus-like creature to a much more intimidating humanoid-shaped sea monster. Naobito realizes that Dagon was simply a cursed womb before awakening to this new level of power.[51]

Naobito and Nanami fighting Dagon (Anime) The sorcerers trying to break through Dagon's sturdy defenses. In his new awakened form, Dagon summons a torrent of water to flood the immediate area of the subway station. Fortunately, the fight is taking place above ground so the floor doesn't flood all the way. Able to avoid the water, the jujutsu sorcerers engage Dagon and are able to land one solid hit after another, but it's almost as if Dagon has boundless health.

On Naobito's command, the trio powers through Dagon's defenses using extreme speed and precision. Forced on the defensive, Dagon attempts to get some space, but Naobito is far too fast and knocks the cursed spirit across the room repeatedly. Naobito predicts Dagon trying to activate Domain Expansion with a hand sign and crushes the cursed spirit's fingers with rapid-fire punches. However, Dagon is still able to cast his domain using an insignia formed on the surface of his lower torso.[52]

Dagon activates Domain Expansion (Anime) Naobito fails to stop Dagon from casting domain expansion. Inside the tropical domain that is Horizon of the Captivating Skandha, Dagon's opponents suffer from his cant-miss attack. His man-eating fish shikigami bite small chunks out of the Nanami and Maki's bodies. It's unavoidable because the shikigami don't manifest into existence until the exact moment they hit their target. Unlike the other two, Naobito is able to defend himself using Falling Blossom Emotion. Seeing that Naobito is different, Dagon counters by unleashing Technique Release: Death Swarm. Unleashing an endless stream of shikigami to overwhelm all his targets at once, Dagon is free to focus on piercing Naobito's defenses and ensures the old sorcerer falls victim to Death Swarm as well.

The majority of Death Swarm is focused away from Maki, making it so only a few fish have hit her. Dagon states that Maki is the weakest there and prepares to finish her before Megumi's Chimera Shadow Garden suddenly bursts through the base of Dagon's domain. Megumi arrives to aid the jujutsu sorcerers and gifts Maki the special grade cursed tool: Playful Cloud![53]

Dagon punches Naobito (Anime) Dagon overpowers the sorcerers inside his domain. Megumi engages Dagon in a domain tug-of-war that nullifies the cursed spirit's can't-miss attacks. While Maki fights Dagon with Playful Cloud, Noabito and Nanami reveal that they survived Death Swarm for over a minute. Down one arm, Naobito helps Maki engage Dagon while Nanami protects Megumi from the man-eating fish shikigami. This buys Megumi enough time to create a hole in the domain's barrier, creating an escape route for all the jujutsu sorcerers to get away. However, just when everyone is about to escape, Toji Fushiguro suddenly enters the domain.[54]

Toji stabs Dagon through the head (Anime) Toji enters the domain and makes short work of Dagon. Due to the multiple irregular circumstances that allowed Granny Ogami's seance technique to run rampant, Toji's psyche devolves into a puppet of carnage, bearing his fangs towards the strongest potential adversary around. He forcefully takes Playful Cloud from Maki and quickly overpowers Dagon with pure physicality and innate fighting prowess.

Toji shreds through all Dagon's strongest shikigami before pummeling the special grade until he's bloody and close to defeat. While Toji sharpens Playful Cloud to a point, Dagon attempts to buy time to regain control over the domain and his can't-miss attacks. Noabito stops Dagon from getting away, allowing Toji to stab the cursed spirit through the face with Playful Cloud.[55]

Jogo feeds Yuji ten fingers (Anime) Jogo feeds Yuji ten fingers in his possession to awaken Sukuna. Toji repeatedly stabs Dagon at extreme speed until the special grade is exorcised completely. The domain dissipates and Toji takes Megumi outside to the street through a glass window. Before Maki can follow Megumi, Jogo abruptly appears and mourns Dagon's death. Jogo acts quickly and avenges his ally by setting Maki, Nanami, and Naobito ablaze one after the other. Before he can end the trio for good, Jogo notices Sukuna's cursed energy being released somewhere in Shibuya.

Sukuna demands Jogo let go of him (Anime) Sukuna takes control of Yuji's body. Mimiko and Nanako feed Yuji's unconscious body the finger of Sukuna's in their possession and Jogo catches them in the act shortly after. They're able to escape Jogo's wrath using Nanako's cursed technique, leaving the cursed spirit alone with Yuji's still unconscious body. Jogo notices Sukuna's markings still present on Yuji's face and decides it's now or never to feed the vessel all ten of Sukuna's fingers in his possession.[56]

Jogo's act has put Yuji at having consumed fifteen fingers in total. While Jogo is still holding Yuji up, he notices Mimiko and Nanako didn't escape very far away. Sukuna then awakens and demands Jogo get away from him immediately, severing the hand holding Yuji's face. Sukuna's overwhelmingly evil presence demands that Jogo, Mimiko, and Nanako bow before him.

Sukuna kills Mimiko (Anime) Mimiko and Nanako incur Sukuna's wrath. Sukuna decides to give the two girls one finger's worth of time to hear them out. They beg him to kill Pseudo-Geto but he's displeased with them using their time to order him around, so he brutally murders Mimiko and then Nanako shortly after before she can retaliate and avenge her twin sister.

Sukuna moves on to asking Jogo what he wants and is surprised to learn that his group simply wants to see Sukuna revived. Jogo tells Sukuna to use Yuji's friends as leverage to make a Binding Vow to permanently take over the vessel. However, Sukuna claims this isn't necessary and reveals that he has his own plans. Amused with Jogo, Sukuna offers him a challenge as a token of appreciation for ten fingers: if Jogo can land a single hit on Sukuna in a fight, the King of Curses will cooperate with his group and kill every human in Shibuya, all except for one.[57]

10:51 P.M - 11:14 P.M Outside Shibuya Station

Megumi feels Sukuna's presence and flees from Toji using Rabbit Escape. Just outside the station, Megumi faces Toji alone on the street. He tries to visualize winning against an impossibly powerful opponent, but his focus is suddenly shaken. Both Fushiguros are taken by surprise when Sukuna's presence echoes throughout Shibuya. Megumi tries to use Rabbit Escape to buy time for self-composure, but this is short-lived. Toji instinctively charges into the horde of rabbits and stabs forward with his improvised spear. Megumi is able to avoid Toji's attack and continues to create distance.

At 10:51 PM along the Shibuya Line of the Metropolitan Expressway, Shoko and Yaga converse inside the tent they have set up on the tollgate. The tent is a makeshift medical station to treat injured sorcerers, with Shoko already managing to save the lives of Ino and Ijichi, and Yaga there to protect her in case the enemy learns she's in Shibuya.

Toji kills himself to save Megumi (Anime) Unbeknownst to Megumi, Toji takes his own life to rescue his son. On the other hand, Shoko's presence in Shibuya gives Megumi insurance. He knows his sole advantage is that he can be healed and decides to take a direct hit from his opponent. Using his shadow to divert the strike, Megumi is able to avoid a fatal wound. He tries to counter-attack at point-blank range, but Toji is immensely fast and completely avoids the hit, leaving the young student with no options left.

Toji takes a solid look at Megumi's face and recalls the day he agreed to sell him to the Zenin Family. Toji believes Megumi has a lot more potential to thrive in a sorcerer family than himself. He asks Megumi's name and the young man answers "Fushiguro". Proud he chose Fushiguro over Zenin, Toji tells Megumi that's good for him and commits suicide. Toji stabs his own head with Playful Cloud to save his son, all unbeknownst to Megumi, who watches in shock.[58]

Megumi attacked by Shigemo (Anime) Megumi is surprise attacked and slashed from behind by Shigemo. Ogami's grandson's body reverts back to normal and Megumi notes that Toji's face disappeared completely. Megumi considers himself lucky but still can't make sense of why his opponent suddenly killed himself. While holding the flesh wound in his side, Megumi begins to walk toward where Shoko is posted until he decides that he should check on the Zenin Team first. However, Megumi is suddenly slashed in the back by Haruta Shigemo's bladed cursed tool. As Megumi collapses to the ground, Shigemo expresses that he's much more suited to sneak attacks instead of head-to-head collisions.[59]

At 11:01 PM in front of Shibuya Stream, the Kusakabe Team is still patrolling and checking buildings for civilians. They've already come across Toge and confirmed Satoru's sealing; he informed them that most non-sorcerers are safe. Panda wants to go after Satoru but he doesn't know where Fukutoshin Line B5F is or how to get there, his instincts as a Panda leave him without any sense of direction.

Jogo and Sukuna's fight interrupts Negi (Anime) A massive explosion interrupts the confrontation between the curse users and the Kusakabe Team. When Panda asks his teacher to stop checking buildings to go find Satoru, Kuksakabe claims Satoru isn't the only person that matters and they need to leave no stone unturned. However these are all just excuses Panda doesn't catch on to, Kusakabe doesn't want to go down to B5F because he believes he'll die for sure. Panda's nose gets sharper as fewer people are around, running the risk of discovering B5F on his own, and Kusakabe doesn't desire this option either because he'd rather not be alone in Shibuya.

Panda doesn't realize that the Fukutoshin Line is right around the corner from where they are and would take no time at all to get there. Kusakabe decides to buy time by entering the station from the Shin-Minami entrance and pretending to get lost on their way to find Satoru. Before the Kusakabe Team can enter Shibuya Station, they're abruptly confronted by two curse users who used to be aligned with Suguru Geto: Toshihisa Negi and Manami Suda. Kusakabe and Panda also notice at least three more curse users hiding behind them as well.

Sukuna interrupts Kusakabe (Anime) Kusakabe tries to tell the sorcerers to run but Sukuna interrupts him. Toshihisa Negi asks if the two are Jujutsu High sorcerers and then tells them to surrender because he'd rather not kill one of his own kind. Kusakabe subtly refuses to any terms of surrender and instead asks the curse users to tell their story in the most drawn-out way possible. Negi simply expresses that they've inherited Suguru Geto's will and Manami asks again if Kusakabe will surrender. Kusakabe is disappointed they didn't waste very much time, but he isn't intimidated by curse users of this level either. He decides the best way to play this is by taking his sweet time fighting against these curse users instead of risking happening upon any special grades.

Kusakabe activates Evening Moon Sword Drawing, signaling to Negi that the decision to fight has been made. However, Kusakabe's plan goes up in flames when a nearby explosion erupts behind the curse users. Sukuna knocks Jogo out of that building with explosive force and asks the cursed spirit if that's all the fight he's got.[60] Jogo tries to fight back but is knocked across the area by Sukuna, destroying several more buildings with their highly destructive clashing. This struggle eventually forces Jogo to activate his most powerful cursed technique, Maximum: Meteor!

Sukuna's fire arrow (Anime) Sukuna challenges Jogo to a fire-power battle. Kusakabe sees the two special grades fighting and attempts to flee with Panda. Two of the curse users hiding intercept them and Manami tries to make them realize they don't have time to fight. Before she can even finish her sentence, Kusakabe cuts down both curse users with Batto Sword Drawing. He tries to tell the other curse users to run because they're all just ants to the special grade cursed spirits fighting nearby. Sukuna overhears the commotion and suddenly appears next to Kusakabe. He tells anyone in the vicinity that they will die if they move until given permission to do so.

The King of Curses forces all of them to watch as Maximum: Meteor draws closer and closer. It's only until just before the meteor makes impact that Sukuna finally allows them all to run. Maximum Meteor crashes into the ground moments later, destroying a large portion of the city and likely getting everyone caught up in the explosion. Jogo is confident that his maximum technique must've damaged his adversary but Sukuna managed to avoid it altogether. Amused regardless, Sukuna decides to utilize a cursed technique that conjures flames, confusing Jogo. Sukuna realizes that a cursed spirit wouldn't quite understand how he's performing this technique and simply challenges Jogo to a fire-power battle.[61]

Jogo's demise (Anime) Sukuna sends Jogo off in a blaze of glory. The outcome of the highly chaotic battle is settled with a single exchange of destructive flames. Sukuna is victorious, reducing Jogo to ash. Before Jogo's demise, Sukuna meets him inside his innate domain and commended him on his strength, drawing tears from the dying cursed spirit's eye. After Jogo's body crumbles away, Uraume finds Sukuna, surprising him, recognizing them from his past.[62]

At 11:05 PM in the Dogenzaka area in front of Shibuya 109, Shigemo stalks his injured victim as Megumi as walks away and manages to maintain some distance. This doesn't last long and Megumi collapses while divulging how the Shadows Technique functions. The curse user doesn't think anything of Megumi's explanation at first but the Ten Shadows Technique user unveils his last-ditch plan. Megumi forces Shigemo to take part in an exorcism ritual where they must try and defeat the most powerful shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique: the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga.

Megumi summons Mahoraga (Anime) Megumi forces Shigemo into an exorcism ritual involving the unstoppable Mahoraga. At 11:07 PM, Mahoraga takes out Megumi with a single strike, leaving him in a state of suspended death. This leaves Shigemo alone to contend with the unbeatable monster. Sukuna takes notice of Megumi's fading life force and tells Uraume he has to go. He orders Uraume not to neglect their preparations and claims he'll be completely free very soon.

Just before Shigemo is killed by Mahoraga, Sukuna saves him and avoids the end of the exorcism ritual. Sukuna is able to immediately read and understand the situation; if Shigemo were to die, the ritual would conclude and Megumi's suspended state of death would've become permanent. Sukuna heals Megumi with a reverse cursed technique and surmises the only way to void the ritual is to defeat Mahoraga.[63]

Sukuna shooting flames at Mahoraga (Anime) Sukuna destroys Mahoraga before it can adapt. Sukuna is able to gain an early advantage until Mahoraga adapts to his slashing techniques. Their exchanges help Sukuna learn exactly how Mahoraga's cursed technique works. After suffering a hit from Sukuna's techniques, the wheel on its head turns and all the damage disappears. Additionally, Mahoraga will be unaffected by that same attack the next time it's used. Sukuna counters by activating his Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine![64]

Malevolent Shrine is customized by Sukuna to destroy everything within a 140-meter radius. This kills numerous non-sorcerers who were hiding after meeting Toge. It also slashes Mahoraga relentlessly along with a large portion of the city. Before Mahoraga can regenerate, Sukuna finishes off the shikigami with the same flaming arrow technique he used to exorcise Jogo.

Shibuya after Sukuna's rampage (Anime) Yuji witnesses the aftermath of Sukuna's decimation of Shibuya. Once the ritual is officially over, Shigemo attempts to flee scene after Sukuna demands the curse user to get out of his presence and dies from a delayed reaction from being hit by Malevolent Shrine. Before losing control of his vessel to Yuji, Sukuna drops off Megumi to Shoko. He only appears for a second and Yaga can barely make out who it was.[65]

Sukuna returns to the area in front of Shibuya 109 that he completely decimated. He tells Yuji to take a good look and releases control. Once Yuji regains control of his body and immediately recalls everyone who died and his allies who were put in danger, he's horrified by Sukuna's actions and begins to vomit while panicking and telling himself to die. After a few moments of reeling from the traumatic experience, Yuji enters a state of cold focus, realizing that he has to fight and help people or else he's nothing but a murderer.[66]

Climactic Stages

11:14 P.M. - 11:36 P.M. Shibuya Station

Mahito and Nanami meet again (Anime) Mahito corners Nanami after the injured sorcerer repels a swarm of transfigured humans. Nanami managed to survive Jogo's assault but he is heavily injured. With over half his body charred and one of his eyes missing, Nanami walks through Shibuya Station while still very delirious. Nanami ignores his exhaustion and rather than seek to be healed, he searches for Megumi. He doesn't realize Megumi was taken outside and also doesn't recall what happened to Naobito and Maki.

Mahito notices the dazed sorcerer walking by while hiding inside a photo booth. Nanami descends a flight of stairs and encounters a large swarm of transfigured humans. Despite the seriousness of his condition, Nanami slashes through the crowd in an adrenaline-fueled rage and kills every last one of them.

Kento Nanami's death (Anime) Mahito kills Nanami in front of Yuji. With the pawns out of the way, Mahito makes contact with the sorcerer's chest using his palm. Unsure of why he decided to return to sorcery at all, Nanami asks Haibara for answers. Haibara's spirit points Nanami to Yuji as he enters the station. Nanami tells Yuji that he's got it from here and his upper body is destroyed as a result of Idle Transfiguration. Mahito takes pleasure in the timing of executing Yuji's friend right in front of him. Enraged by the death of his mentor, Yuji rushes Mahito and screams at him. Entertained, Mahito taunts him by claiming that he can hear the sorcerer just fine without yelling.[67]

Yuji and Mahito come to blows once again, clashing throughout the station. Mahito keeps the sorcerer at bay using cursed techniques based around manipulating transfigured humans. Not only do they clash in a physical confrontation, but they collide over ideals and convictions. Mahito believes he and Yuji are one and the same because they kill each other's species without a second thought. Until Yuji can accept Mahito as his own reflection, Mahito doesn't believe he can ever be defeated by the young man's half-hearted convictions.

Mahito punches Yuji from inside a civilian (Anime) Mahito uses civilians to break down Yuji's resolve. Yuji manages to retain his focus by taking inspiration from Nanami's calm demeanor. Mahito tries to predict Yuji's game plan and attempts to strike through Yuji's heart. Yuji uses his exceptional fighting skills to evade and counter-attack in one motion using Taido Martial Arts: Manji Kick! After suffering a direct blow from Yuji's foot to his face, Mahito is able to force Yuji back before losing any more ground. The cursed spirit concedes this exchange to his opponent and playfully suggests they move on to the next round.[68]

By 11:19 P.M., Yuji and Mahito's fight has brought them near the Dogenzaka Ticket Gate within the station. Mahito stays mobile and surprises Yuji with all kinds of new moves including the ability to dismember his limbs. The cursed spirit hunts down bystanders still alive inside the station in order to break down Yuji's resolve. Mahito plans on adding another card to his hand that will deal the final blow and completely destroy Yuji's spirit.

A while ago at 9:30 P.M., Dagon consumed almost all the non-sorcerers at B4F during Mahito's game to hunt down Yuji. In order to ensure he'd find Yuji first, Mahito split himself in two and created a wall between himself and Jogo.[69]

Nobara ignores Nanami's orders (Anime) Nobara ignores Nanami's orders and rejoins the fighting. More recently at 11:14 P.M., Nobara disobeyed Nanami's orders to leave Shibuya and re-entered the battlefield instead. Akari was taken away by paramedics and told Nobara to come along but the first-year refused. Nobara feels as if she hasn't accomplished enough during all the fighting and can't run away while her allies are still in danger.[70] By 11:16 P.M., Nobara encountered Mahito's double in a Dogenzaka Alleyway.

Nobara recognizes Mahito as the patch face curse that's given Yuji trouble in the past. Mahito is interested to know that he's famous but Nobara mocks him for being a coward. He attempts to kill the girl but Nobara repels him using a mix of martial arts and her Hairpin attack. Mahito suffers a solid blow that leaves his head bleeding, but Mahito doesn't believe the girl can effectively injure his soul. He can tell that Nobara is a friend of Yuji's and plans to kill her as the added card to his hand. As Yuji's nemesis, Mahito knows presenting Nobara's corpse to him will deal the final blow to destroy his soul for good.[71]

Nobara clashing with Mahito (Anime) Nobara fights Mahito's double. At the same time that Nobara is fighting Mahito's double, Mahito's main body continues to use non-sorcerers against Yuji. By forcing a bystander to explode, Mahito manages to blind Yuji with blood in his eyes. Meanwhile, Nobara lures Mahito's double into a false sense of security before hitting him with her Resonance technique. Nobara's cursed technique allows her to injure Mahito's soul via his body, taking him completely by surprise. Both Mahito and his double are seriously injured by Resonance, something the special grade never saw coming. He even acknowledges Nobara as a natural enemy of his just like Yuji. Nobara notices that Resonance hit two targets simultaneously and correctly deduces that she's been fighting against patch face's doppelganger.[72]

Yuji pummels Mahito into a pillar (Anime) Yuji takes advantage of Mahito's main body suffering damage from Nobara as well. Before Mahito could capitalize on blinding Yuji, spikes from Resonance erupt from his main body. Yuji recognizes this effect and is inspired by the aid of his friend, reminded that he's not alone in this fight. Yuji takes full advantage of Mahito's weakened state and barrages him with rapid-fire punches with the full intention of exorcising his nemesis here and now. Sensing his soul is in serious danger, Mahito's double flees from Nobara and heads back into Shibuya Station. The double leads Nobara underground while Mahito's primary body splits into smaller versions of himself in order to flee from Yuji.

Both Mahitos meet in a corridor and successfully lead Yuji and Nobara to opposite sides of it. Yuji yells at Nobara as soon as he sees her, telling her to run away as loud as he can. The Mahito twins switch opponents and his real body hits Nobara's face before she can even realize what's going on. Yuji kills Mahito's double and checks on Nobara. She's silent and touches her face. Since Mahito couldn't kill Nanami with just one touch in their first fight, he waits to see how Nobara will fare.[73]

Mahito touching Nobara (Anime) Nobara falls into Mahito's trap. Nobara reflects on her past and who she is as a person. She used to believe everyone was crazy and rejected them due to the small village and invasive environment she grew up in. Thanks to her time in Jujutsu High, Nobara learned to embrace others and her own craziness. She tells Yuji that her life wasn't so bad just before her face transfigures and she collapses to the ground. Yuji can only watch in horror as his close friend appears to drop dead right in front of him.[74]

Stacked on top of losing to Choso, Sukuna's rampage, and Kento Nanami's death, Nobara's demise is too much for Yuji to bear. Yuji's resolve gave way a long time ago and just as Mahito planned, his spirit breaks. Exhilarated by his talent for crushing souls as a curse, Mahito praises himself as a true curse and taps into his potential. As the sparks of black do not choose who they bless, Mahito strikes Yuji with Black Flash. Yuji suffers a direct hit and is pummeled down by Mahito both mentally and physically. Mahito mocks Yuji's naivety involving the jujutsu world, pointing out that they're at war and Yuji is a fool for thinking he could achieve victory without realizing the stakes.

Yuji nearly defeated after Mahito breaks his spirit (Anime) Mahito crushes Yuji's body and spirit. Satisfied with crushing Yuji's psyche and his body, Mahito goes in for the kill. An instant before he beheads his longtime adversary, a clapping sound echoes through the corridor. Mahito suddenly switches places with none other than Yuji's "official best friend" Aoi Todo. He's accompanied by Kyoto first-year Arata Nitta, who performs first aid on Nobara. Arata expresses that he doesn't believe she will survive but Todo ignores him and tells Arata to treat Yuji using his innate technique. Todo asks Yuji to stand and fight because the climactic final battle has just begun.[75]

With his resolve shattered, Yuji reveals all the horrors he's gone through to Todo and states he cannot forgive himself. Attracted to Yuji's misery, Mahito attacks but Todo uses Boogie Woogie to keep him away. Todo encourages Yuji by telling him that jujutsu sorcerers cannot be bound by their sins and asks Yuji what he's been entrusted with; all jujutsu sorcerers must continue moving forward until they find that answer. By applying his innate technique to Yuji's wounds, Arata dulls the pain and ensures the injuries won't get any worse. In order to give Yuji a small ray of hope, Arata tells him that he treated Nobara with his technique and states she has a chance of survival, before retreating with her.

Yuji and Aoi Todo ready to fight Mahito (Anime) Todo inspires Yuji to get back up and fight. While fighting Todo one-on-one, Mahito has trouble dealing with the "top-knot gorilla's" evasive techniques. The special grade curse remains confident he'll use Black Flash again and unlock the true essence of his soul. Mahito is so infatuated with himself that this momentary distraction leaves him surprised when Todo switches places with Yuji.

Back in the fight, Yuji apologizes to Nanami for almost giving up and promises to take on his share of suffering as well. Yuji lands a powerful Black Flash that completely destroys Mahito's block. After reeling back from getting his arm destroyed, Mahito smiles in reaction to Yuji coming back from the dead. Todo welcomes his best friend back to the battle as Yuji stands next to him ready to go.[76]

Kyoto sorcerers disappointed in Kokichi (Anime) Kyoto sorcerers heading to the Shibuya Incident last minute. While the battle in Shibuya has reached its climax, the other Kyoto students and Utahime Iori try to reach the city by train. Mechamaru manipulated their missions to make sure no one of the Kyoto school would be near Shibuya on October 31st. By the time Mechamaru's peers found out, it was too late for them to get there in time to help. Todo and Arata are exceptions because Todo is more than strong enough to take care of himself and Arata's innate technique is useful in this situation. Mechamaru uses the remaining time within his communication device to share a somber goodbye with Kasumi Miwa. While she cries, the others can only relent over what happened with their classmate.

Yuji and Todo fight another special grade together, continuing the battle against Mahito inside Shibuya Station. Mahito tries to formulate a strategy around calculating the strength of each combatant's soul; Todo is operating at full strength while Mahito and Yuji have less than half their maximum health.

Body Repel erupts from underground Shibuya (Anime) The sorcerers' fight with Mahito erupts into the streets of Shibuya. Mahito is surprised by Boogie Woogie's ability to swap places with an un-activated transfigured human, allowing Todo to get behind him. Determined not to be left behind by Yuji, Todo unleashes Black Flash as well through a kick that destroys Mahito's hand. Although Todo's attack doesn't damage Mahito's soul, the cursed spirit acknowledges that all combatants are now operating at 120% of their potential. He decides to turn up the intensity of the fight and counters Boogie Woogie by attacking with Idle Transfiguration: Body Repel from all sides. The attack breaks through the streets of Shibuya from underground, taking the battle directly the city.[77]

Mahito's first objective is to separate Todo from Yuji to get rid of the constant switching. He activates Idle Transfiguration: Polymorphic Soul Isomer to occupy the grade 1 sorcerer, summoning a special type of transfigured human with elite explosive power. One strike is enough to smash Todo clean through a skyscraper.

Mahito's domain expansion of 0.2 seconds ends (Anime) Just like Gojo, Mahito uses a domain expansion of just 0.2 seconds! A single counter-attack from Todo is able to put a Polymorphic Soul Isomer down. This exchange reveals the Polymorphic Soul Isomer's weakness to Todo, allowing him to dispatch two more with ease. Mahito tries to capitalize while he has Yuji alone but it's not long before Todo rejoins his best friend's side. Without any other choice, Mahito decides to take a page out of Satoru Gojo's book and activates an all-or-nothing Domain Expansion of only 0.2 seconds![78]

At 120% of his potential thanks to Black Flash, Mahito combined the two step-process of realizing his innate domain and activating his innate technique into one. This sublimely fast maneuver out-speeds both Todo and Yuji's attempts to counter the domain. After briefly mocking Sukuna inside the King of Curse's innate domain, Mahito defiantly finishes the activation of Self-Embodiment of Perfection.

Mahito hits Aoi Todo with Black Flash (Anime) Left open after being forced to sever his own hand, Todo is hit by Mahito's Black Flash. Only Todo's hand is transfigured, but he's forced to sever it, leaving him wide open to Mahito's next attack. The cursed spirit can't transfigure Todo so soon after activating Domain Expansion but does the next best thing lands a direct hit using Black Flash. Todo miraculously survives by concentrating all his cursed energy to defend the point of impact and minimize the damage.

Todo is still badly hurt so Mahito tries to follow up by transfiguring the top-knot gorilla. Mahito is momentarily distracted by the picture of Yuji inside of Todo's severed pendent. Todo does the unexpected and claps using Mahito's outstretched hand, swapping places with Yuji, who is already mid-swing. Before Mahito can even react, Yuji lands a devastating Black Flash that smashes his opponent's face.

Mahito's evolution (Anime) Mahito evolves into the truest essence of his being. Miraculously, Todo's palm is only slightly-disfigured from touching Mahito, but he's out of the fight. Yuji thanks Todo for all his help and believes in himself to handle the rest. Mahito uses another Polymorphic Soul Isomer to occupy Yuji while he recovers from being hit with Black Flash. He commends Todo for being a pain till the very end, but the special grade was still able to use a Black Flash of his own again. Realizing the true essence of his soul, Mahito evolves into his final form using Idle Transfiguration: Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing.[79]

Elevated into a much more powerful form, Mahito attempts to celebrate his rebirth by ending Yuji. Mahito's body is too hard for Yuji to damage and trading offense doesn't bode well either. Yuji's only choice is to dedicate all his cursed energy to a maximum output Black Flash. Although Mahito has become much stronger, the damage from Yuji's last Black Flash still lingers. The two of them take a moment to regain their footing before rushing into one final fight to the finish.[80]

Yuji using Black Flash to defeat Mahito (Anime) Yuji's fight-ending Black Flash! Mahito gives Yuji a target to hit on his nigh-invulnerable body but the sorcerer doesn't take the bait. Yuji controls Divergent Fist's second impact and takes Mahito by surprise, throwing off the angle of what would've been a killing blow. Before Mahito can adjust, Todo reappears and fakes out the cursed spirit by "clapping" with his severed hand. This makes Mahito turn around, but Boogie Woogie did not activate. Todo's fake out gives Yuji the perfect opening to land full-power, fight-ending Black Flash that utterly defeats Mahito.

Pseudo-Geto confronts Mahito after his defeat (Anime) Pseudo-Geto reappears before Yuji is able to finish off Mahito. Yuji confronts Mahito one last time and admits that they are the same. Yuji doesn't need a reason to kill cursed spirits just as Mahito never needed one to kill humans. Yuji accepts that he's a cog in the war between sorcerers and cursed spirits. Mahito attempts to flee and Yuji chases him like a predator hunting their prey through the snow. Before Yuji can catch up and finish Mahito off, however, Pseudo-Geto appears to come to his ally's aid.[81]

Todo and Arata originally arrived in Shibuya around 11:09 P.M. and headed straight for B5F. Prison Realm had already been moved so Todo decided their focus needed to be on supporting their fellow sorcerers.

Yuji hit by Pseudo-Geto's centipede curse (Anime) Pseudo-Geto overpowers Yuji using Cursed Spirit Manipulation. At 11:28 P.M. in front of Shibuya Stream, Panda found Kusakabe under the wreckage caused by Jogo's Maximum: Meteor. Displeased with Sukuna putting them in danger, Kusakabe expressed that he agrees Yuji should be executed. Inside Shibuya Station on B3F, Choso suffered from visions of Yuji being one of his brothers. Searching for answers, Choso got up and left to find Yuji. After being nearly killed by Pseudo-Geto, Mei Mei retreated to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by using Ui Ui's innate technique.

At 10:36 P.M. Malaysian local time, Mei Mei gets a call from her business partner and advises them to sell all their Japanese stock and Tokyo real estate.

Currently, at 11:36 P.M., Yuji tries to fight Pseudo-Geto for Satoru's freedom, but is repelled by Cursed Spirit Manipulation. Mahito attempts to use the scuffle as a way to touch Pseudo-Geto's soul, but the curse user avoids him. Yuji watches as Mahito is absorbed using Cursed Spirit Manipulation and Pseudo-Geto asks the young man to discuss the future of the jujutsu world.[82]

11:36 P.M. - End of the Incident, Shibuya

Pseudo-Geto ingests Mahito (Anime) Pseudo-Geto absorbs Mahito and extracts his innate technique. Heavily injured from Pseudo-Geto's barrage of cursed techniques, Yuji bides his time while the curse user reveals that he's able to extract the techniques of any semi-grade 1 and above curse he absorbs. Shortly after he consumes Mahito, Pseudo-Geto is ambushed by the Kyoto sorcerers in one last attempt to retake Prison Realm. He repels them by unleashing Maximum: Uzumaki, but Panda and Kusakabe arrive in time to help avoid any casualties.

Choso surprisingly joins the fray shortly after and realizes that one of Pseudo-Geto's identities is none other than the evilest sorcerer in history, Noritoshi Kamo. Choso feels he was manipulated by his evil father into almost killing one of his brothers. He attacks only to be cut off by Uraume, who comes to the aid of their fellow curse user.[83]

Noritoshi Kamo (Ancestor) First Appearance (Anime) One of Pseudo-Geto's former identities is revealed to be the evilest sorcerer in history, Noritoshi Kamo. Due to Noritoshi Kamo extending his life by moving from body to body, it's entirely possible that Yuji is related to Choso, which the Death Painting takes very seriously, using all his strength to protect Yuji, fighting alongside the sorcerers against Pseudo-Geto and Uraume. Despite their numbers advantage, the entire group is immobilized by Uraume's Ice Formation cursed techniques. Before Uraume kills everyone, special grade jujutsu sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo suddenly arrives in time to rescue everyone.[84]

Yuki Tsukumo comes to the rescue (Anime) Yuki Tsukumo appears at the last possible moment to rescue everyone. Yuki buys time for her allies by engaging Pseudo-Geto in a dialogue about the relationship between humans and cursed energy. Pseudo-Geto believes he must bring forth chaos he cannot control in order to exceed the bounds of cursed energy. He activates Idle Transfiguration and affects the souls of everyone he marked over the years in preparation for this day.

Pseudo-Geto shows Prison Realm to Yuji (Anime) Pseudo-Geto successfully escapes with Prison Realm. Two types of non-sorcerers were marked: The first type are people who ingested cursed objects in a similar fashion to Yuji. The second type are people whose brains were meant to be non-sorcerers, like Junpei Yoshino. The former had their bodies adjusted to be used as vessels and the latter had their brains adjusted for jujutsu.

Pseudo-Geto awakens at least a thousand incarnated sorcerers from ages ago and plans to make everyone he's marked fight one another in order to deepen their understanding of cursed energy. The curse user summons numerous cursed spirits to mask his escape, succeeding in all his plans by leaving with Prison Realm. Before escaping, Pseudo-Geto tells Sukuna that the Golden Age of Jujutsu is upon them once again, and the Heian Era is returning!

Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara are walking around the city trying to decide what to do with their day. Megumi decides to return to Jujutsu High while Yuji tries to convince Nobara to see Human Earthworm 4 at the movies with him. He explains the plot and shows her the trailer for the movie, but Nobara isn't interested. As they go their separate ways, a teenage girl around their age watches from across the street.

Meanwhile, Aoi Todo and Mei Mei play ping pong after submitting their recommendations for promoting several Jujutsu High students to grade 1. Todo is under the impression he will be able to mentor Yuji as he pursues the promotion, but Mei Mei bursts his bubble by reminding him that the person who recommended Yuji can't accompany him on his required missions. Completely deflated, Mei Mei defeats Todo in ping pong.

Nobara It's like that!? "It's like that!?" The girl who was watching Yuji earlier eventually works up the courage to approach Nobara. They agree to speak at a restaurant and the girl introduces herself as Yuko Ozawa. She and Yuji went to middle school together when she was much shorter and chubbier. Her appearance has completely changed, and she gives Nobara hints that she would like to reunite with Yuji. Interested, Nobara asks "it's like that!?" and Yuko confirms she has a crush on Yuji. Determined to help, Nobara gets Ijichi to take Megumi back into the city and has him dropped off at the restaurant. Nobara explains the situation and even Megumi asks, "it's like that!?". He confirms that Yuji doesn't have a girlfriend and that he likes tall girls, giving Nobara and Yuko the confidence things might work out.

Yuji recognizes Yuko (Anime) Yuji recognizes Yuko despite her altered appearance. Nobara summons Yuji and to everyone's surprise, he recognizes Yuko without hesitation. Yuko quickly realizes that Yuji always saw more of her than just her appearance. She becomes ashamed of trying to impress him as if he's the same as the other boys who always judged her weight. Yuko decides not to reveal her feelings and leaves without getting Yuji's number. Megumi asks Nobara if this is alright, and the latter reveals she exchanged numbers with Yuko so it's fine. Yuji catches up with his two classmates shortly after and pressures them to go to the movies with him.

Mahito heals Kokichi (Anime) Mahito heals Kokichi in exchange for information on Jujutsu High. Sometime later, the trio meets with Utahime Iori to investigate the mole at Jujutsu High. They investigate the place where Kokichi Muta's real body is located. They believe Kokichi Muta, also known as Mechamaru, must be the mole by process of elimination. His technique, Puppet Manipulation, is the only one capable of pulling off long-range surveillance. At Kyoto Jujutsu High, Kasumi Miwa reminds Mechamaru it's the last day to turn in their notebooks but the puppet tells Kasumi that he needs to rest for now. He anticipates visitors but not Utahime and the others. They discover a false hideout, confirming that Kokichi is the traitor. Kokichi actually meets with Geto and Mahito, who have entered a binding vow with him to fix his body in exchange for information.

Ultimate Mechamaru - Mode Absolute (Anime) Mechamaru - Mode: Absolute! Mahito wants to kill Kokichi, but Geto sternly warns him about the backlash from breaking a vow with others. The cursed spirit begrudgingly heals Kokichi's body with Idle Transfiguration and the two of them decide to settle their differences right then and there. Kokichi calls multiple Mechamaru puppets to his side and sends them to his opponent. Mahito quickly dispatches them but Kokichi disappears before blowing up the hideout entirely. Mahito and Geto survive, ending up outside near a large lake. Kokichi's ultimate invention rises from the water: Mechamaru Mode: Absolute!

This colossal version of Mechamaru is piloted by Kokichi from the inside. He's saved up seventeen years of cursed energy and plans to survive by using it to defeat Mahito. He knows his chances of victory are slim and his survival hinges on him being able to contact Satoru Gojo to rescue him. Having recorded everything that's happened up to this point, Kokichi believes he has the knowledge to win. He opens the battle using a year's worth of cursed energy in a single shot of his Ultra Cannon.

Mahito survives a near point-blank Ultra Cannon from the massive Mechamaru and darts around the battlefield attempting to avoid the giant's punches and kicks. Kokichi is aware his usual methods of attack won't be able to damage Mahito's soul, but he has a plan in mind. He activates a charge worth two years of cursed energy and unleashes Miracle Cannon on the body of water. Mahito avoids any lasting damage, but his clothes are burnt off. He enlarges his fist and punches Mechamaru across the face, landing a powerful hit that shakes the cockpit. Kokichi is made painfully aware that any more of Mahito's offense could rip Mechamaru apart if the battle drags on.

Mahito dodging Pigeon Viola (Anime) Mechamaru's onslaught putting Mahito on the defensive. Kokichi plugs a mechanical tube into a port in the cockpit, loading a cursed technique into it. This technique charged tube is fired from Mechamaru's finger like a projectile that stabs into Mahito's shoulder. Under the assumption that Mechamaru can't damage his soul, Mahito disregards the attack until his entire left arm explodes. Kokichi capitalizes by having Mechamaru attack while Mahito is injured, sending him crashing through the forest with a kick from the giant puppet. Mechamaru attempts to follow up but Mahito changes into a hybrid-bird form and flies away again. Kokichi notices that Mahito changed his appearance to hide his injury, confirming for himself that the projectile was effective. Even Geto is surprised that Kokichi's strategy is working. Keeping up his relentless attacks, Mechamaru fires Pigeon Viola to pursue Mahito through the air, forcing the cursed spirit to flee and transform into several different animals as he runs through the forest.

Mahito appears to defeat Mechamaru (Anime) Mahito uses his domain on Mechamaru. Unaware of which attacks are injuring him, Mahito has no choice but to be more careful and ascertain which one injured him. Mahito severs electrical wires connected to Mechamaru's head, but he's quickly countered and sent flying with another punch. Confident he can win, Kokichi loads another tube with technique charge and goes for the kill. Refusing to give up another inch, the injured cursed spirit suddenly expands his domain: Self-Embodiment of Perfection. Mahito assumes Kokichi thought he wouldn't use domain expansion in preparation for Shibuya and states ten days is plenty of time to recover. Believing he's won, Mahito turns away only for Mechamaru to stab him in the back with another loaded technique charge. Kokichi reveals that he was able to protect himself from the domain and injure Mahito using one specific technique that was loaded into the tubes, New Shadow Style: Simple Domain.

Mahito's body implodes and Kokichi appears to have exorcised him at last. Geto admits he's impressed with Kokichi's application of Simple Domain. Kokichi turns his attention to taking out the curse user but he celebrates too early when Mahito suddenly crashes through the cockpit of the giant puppet. A regular-sized Mechamaru appears in the cockpit to hold off Mahito while Kokichi prepares another tube to stab directly into Mahito manually. The cursed spirit dispatches the puppet, and the two fighters attempt to land their last-ditch attack at the same time. Unfortunately for Kokichi, Mahito's hands touch him before he's able to land the finishing blow.

Kokichi and Mechamaru's death (Anime) The end of Mechamaru. Meanwhile, at Kyoto Jujutsu High, Kasumi Miwa sits next to the "sleeping" Mechamaru puppet and expresses how she enjoys that the students have gotten closer since the Baseball Game. Miwa wants to get even closer to Mechamaru and promises to visit Kokichi's real body one day. However, unbeknownst to her, her beloved classmate has already met his untimely end. Mahito regroups with Geto, and the ladder asks if the fight was more dangerous than expected. Mahito claims that he blew himself up on purpose to deceive Kokichi and there was nothing dangerous about it. With that "warm-up" out of the way, Geto and Mahito reveal that the final preparations for the Shibuya Incident have been concluded.

Satoru Gojo arrives in Shibuya (Anime) Satoru Gojo arrives in Shibuya. Ten days later, just after 7 P.M. on October 31st, a four-hundred-meter curtain is lowered over Shibuya. It traps civilians inside and they're told they won't be able to leave until Satoru Gojo arrives. Several teams of jujutsu sorcerers are placed outside the curtain as a precaution. These teams include sorcerers such as Megumi Fushiguro, Takuma Ino, Kento Nanami, Nobara Kugisaki, Maki Zenin, Naobito Zenin, Panda, and Atsuya Kusakabe. Managers inform each squad of the situation and gives them their orders to standby and take out anything that gets past Satoru once he goes inside. There's no cellular signal inside the curtain and the civilians are trapped, but they're not currently in any danger. However, Kusakabe notes that there are definitely special grade cursed spirits waiting underground. Around 8:31 P.M., Satoru Gojo arrives and enters the curtain.

Satoru Gojo arrives on BF3 of the Hikarie Building where hundreds of civilians are trapped inside by the curtain. There's also another barrier below that also traps non-sorcerers. Gojo walks on the air above the crowd until he reaches an atrium opening to the floor below. He gets an idea of the enemy's plan before long and welcomes the challenge. He descends to B5F on the Fukutoshin Line Platform where Hanami, Jogo, and Choso are waiting for him. Gojo tells Jogo not to come up with any excuses for when he loses again but the cursed spirit remains confident. Jogo replies that Gojo needs to get his first-ever excuse ready.

Yuji realizes Mahito is involved in the Shibuya Incident (Anime) Yuji learns his mortal enemy is in Shibuya. Meanwhile, Yuji is assigned to Team Mei Mei with the grade 1 sorcerer and her younger brother, Ui Ui. Yuji wants to help Gojo instead of remaining on standby and Mei Mei tells him he'll get the chance. She receives a call that takes the team off standby, and they're assigned to deal with a curtain that appeared over Meiji-Jingumae Station. Mei Mei tells Yuuji to keep up and they run to the subway station where an assistant manager breaks down the situation. There are two curtains and Team Mei Mei must disable the first one before they can reach the B5F of the station. There is also a swarm of transfigured humans attacking civilians inside, forcing Yuji to realize that Mahito must be involved. Mei Mei first scouts the station by sharing her perception with the crows she sent to fly around the inside. Before sharing any information with Yuji, Mei Mei asks if he wants to fight one strong curse or a bunch of weak transfigured humans. She assumes the latter and tells him to take out the target between BF1 and BF2. While he's doing so, Mei Mei states that she'll deal with the transfigured humans.

Mei Mei tells him to be careful, but Yuji swears he won't lose ever again as he enters the station. He eventually happens upon a Grasshopper cursed spirit eating someone's head. Claiming to be smart, the observant cursed spirit recognizes Yuji is a sorcerer. Yuji asks if the patchface curse is in the station and the grasshopper reveals his name is Mahito. Recalling his sensei teaching him about how complex barriers can be, Yuji figures such a simpleton cursed spirit couldn't have generated a curtain with conditions. He notices the grasshopper curse standing in front of a peculiar-looking nail in the ground that's wrapped in talismans. The curse mentions "protecting the curtain" and Yuji realizes the talisman must be what's projecting the barrier.

Grasshopper Curse eating a man (Anime) Yuji runs into a grasshopper cursed spirit. The grasshopper begins to talk about how it doesn't like the taste of transfigured humans until Yuji attacks. Yuji kicks it through a wall and demands all cursed spirits stop looking down on humans. The curse quickly gets back to its feet and asks Yuji if he knows what kind of being it is. Yuji states the obvious and the grasshopper is surprised to learn his enemy is smart too. The grasshopper curse was born from humanity's ill will against the locust plague. It has the physical capabilities of a human-sized grasshopper, but Yuji is able to keep up with its speed and power. It's incredibly strong jaw and legs tear apart the area, but it doesn't deal any damage to its opponent. The grasshopper continues to state that it's smart until Yuji reveals that clever people usually don't need to state so. Shocked, the grasshopper covers his mouth and Yuji steps upright in its face with a deeply angered expression. They engage in an taijutsu, exchanging rapid-fire blows. While the grasshopper has four arms, Yuji effortlessly overwhelms the curse with his superior strength and speed. Ordinarily, this curse would be superior to a human in every way, but it's highly inferior to Yuji.

Yuji overpowering the Grasshopper Curse (Anime) Yuji displaying his superior physical prowess. Yuji doesn't believe his "clever" enemy will use any tricks, but the grasshopper spits at him and forces him to duck. Then it expands its abdomen to stab him in the face, only for Yuji to deflect the protrusion and remove it from the body in one motion. The curse ended up using a trick, but no amount of clever tactics can close the massive gap in skill between the two. Yuji exorcises the curse and breaks the talisman to lower the curtain shortly after. Mei Mei notices the curtain is gone and tells Ui Ui they'll meet up with Yuji before heading down to B5F. On that very floor, Mahito notices "Ko-Guy" has been exorcised and states a decently strong sorcerer must be around. He wants to fight them and regrets being unable to, but Mahito knows he has an assignment to complete that's more important. Team Mei Mei regroups, and the grade 1 sorcerer commends Yuji for his performance. He reveals it wasn't Mahito he was fighting but Ui Ui demands he just accept the compliment. They reach B5F but it's completely devoid of people except for one person.

Satoru Gojo intimidates Jogo (Anime) "I'm surprised you thought you could win with this sorry excuse for a plan." Back at the Fukutoshin line, Hanami blocks the atrium above the tracks with wooden roots. Assuming he's trying to block off any exits, Gojo states he wouldn't run regardless. He says the curses would kill everyone if he did leave but Jogo confidently replies they would do so anyway. Many of the civilians standing on the platforms above the tracks are forced onto the train line. Geto developed a plan for the strongest sorcerer that includes using inferior non-sorcerers to stifle his movements. While Gojo is unable to use his full strength, Geto told Mahito's group to stall him for twenty minutes. Jogo, Hanami, and Choso begin attacking the crowd, causing widespread panic and confusion. When they see an opening, Jogo and Hanami both attack Gojo at once and their fists are stopped by the Infinity. Anticipating this, the duo simultaneously activates domain amplification. By enveloping their bodies in a small-scale domain, Jogo and Hanami can neutralize any technique they come into contact with, even the Limitless.

Gojo retreats to the top of the platform away from the curses and Jogo taunts him for running away. Gojo admits he's surprised but Jogo tells him not to make excuses. Gojo quickly clarifies that he's only surprised the curses thought they could win if this is all they've got.

At some point in the past, Satoru Gojo's associates were asked what they knew about him. They give widely different answers including that he's a teacher, a benefactor, and an idiot. Even with varying answers, everyone agrees that Satoru Gojo is undoubtedly the strongest.

Satoru Gojo steps up to Jogo and Hanami (Anime) "Aren't you guys the ones who said not to run away?" In the present, on October 31st, Gojo faces off with Jogo and Hanami on the Fukutoshin Platform in BF5 of the Hikarie Building in Shibuya. Gojo has removed his blindfold and tells Hanami they're going to die first because he's met them twice already. He openly challenges the cursed spirits to make the next move. He reminds them that they were the ones who told him not to run and fearlessly steps up between his opponents. This provokes Jogo and Hanami to attack but the former is surprised when Gojo touches him to parry his punch. Gojo flips Jogo over his back and avoids Hanami's attack before ripping Jogo's arm off completely. He then uses the severed flesh to absorb the impact of Hanami's follow-up punch and kicks them across the station. He throws Jogo over to join them shortly after and Hanami realizes that Gojo has deactivated the Limitless.

Satoru Gojo rips the branches out of Hanami's head (Anime) Gojo lures Hanami into a trap. Hanami takes Gojo's statement about killing them first as a misdirection because he's targetting and chasing after Jogo. Believing there's no point in getting the crowd involved, Hanami decides to activate their cursed technique. Hanami doesn't realize they've made a fatal mistake, but Jogo does. While fleeing from Gojo, Jogo turns around to yell and warn Hanami not to deactivate domain amplification. This was Gojo's plan all along, to bait Hanami into activating their innate technique because it's impossible to activate it and domain amplification simultaneously. Gojo turns around with a devious smile on his face and rushes over to Hanami, grabbing onto the branches coming out of their face. Gojo reveals someone told him this was Hanami's weak spot and proceeds to brutally rip the roots completely out of Hanami's body. Jogo commends Gojo for being this powerful even without his cursed technique while Choso tries to hit him with Piercing Blood, only for it to be deflected by a reactivated Infinity. Gojo recognizes that Choso is a Death Painting Womb and decides to leave him for later since he's not as proactive as the others.

Satoru Gojo after exorcising Hanami (Anime) "Next." Jogo and Hanami attack Gojo again, attempting to use domain amplification to neutralize the Limitless. Gojo warns them that this is a bad idea because he can counter by strengthening his cursed technique and Hanami might not be up to the task. He expands the range of the Infinity and targets Hanami, pinning them against the wall. Jogo tries to threaten the lives of civilians to get Gojo's attention, but he completely ignores it. The sorcerer effortlessly crushes Hanami into dust against the wall, exorcising them right before Jogo's eyes. Without a moment's hesitation, Satoru turns around and asks who's next.

Transfigured Humans released from the train (Anime) Mahito arrives with transfigured humans to add to the chaos. Geto's plan to seal Gojo requires that the cursed spirits keep him in range of Prison Realm for at least one minute. Jogo originally protested this impossible task and threatened to burn Geto, but the curse user assured him things would be fine. Currently, Jogo refuses to let Hanami's death be in vain and focuses on surviving. He uses hit-and-run tactics while throwing humans at Gojo to distract him. He also demands Choso help out or he'll be the first to die. Choso begrudgingly agrees and sends more blood at Satoru, only for it to be deflected again. With Jogo on the run, Gojo knows he's already played his hand by luring the cursed spirits out and exorcising them up close. The worst-case scenario would be for his opponents to launch a wide-range attack on the crowd. Gojo acknowledges that he won't be able to save everyone, but he swears to exorcise the curses to avenge the fallen without fail.

Domain Expansion of 0.2 seconds (Anime) An all-or-nothing domain expansion of 0.2 seconds! At Meiji-Jingumae Station, Yuji finds a lone civilian in B5F. They reveal that everyone on this level was turned into monsters and put on the train. They were only left because the train couldn't fit anymore. Shortly after their claims, the non-sorcerer is transfigured and dies in front of Yuji, forcing him to realize that Mahito is on a train full of transfigured humans headed straight for Gojo. The train arrives on the Fukutoshin Line Platform and transfigured humans spill out and attack the crowd. Mahito gets off the train and tells Jogo they'll have plenty of humans to hunt after the incident. He playfully tells Jogo they can hunt them in the forest and the latter asks to simply burn the forest down. Mahito reminds him that Hanami would be upset but Jogo reveals that their ally has been killed.

Mahito attacks Gojo and experiences the Infinity firsthand. He avoids Gojo's counter-attack and decides to share something he finds disgusting about humans: there are far too many of them. Right on cue, Hanami's roots break apart and numerous humans fall through the atrium into B5F, creating even more panic. Mahito and Choso add to the chaos by launching a widespread attack on the crowd, killing several civilians all around Gojo. The cursed spirits know Gojo is capable of being cold-hearted, unlike Yuji Itadori. They believe his willingness to make sacrifices only extends to humans killed by curses, meaning he won't kill any civilians by opening his domain. Gojo's best option is to sacrifice everyone on B5F to exorcise the cursed spirits and save everyone else in Shibuya. Mahito, Choso, and Jogo are totally surprised when Gojo does just that and uses domain expansion: Unlimited Void.

1000 Transfigured Humans killed by Satoru Gojo (Anime) One thousand transfigured humans slain by the strongest sorcerer alive. However, instead of forsaking the civilians, Gojo only opens his domain for 0.2 seconds. It was just a guess, but Gojo estimated this was the longest amount of time a non-sorcerer could withstand being inside his domain without suffering permanent damage. This all-or-nothing domain expansion paralyzes everyone on B5F but the special grades could awaken at any moment. Due to this, Gojo prioritizes the transfigured humans and destroys all one thousand of them in just 299 seconds. After running around at incredible speeds to dismember the monsters, Gojo is exhausted and is forced to take several deep breaths. Deciding this is the perfect time to make his move, Prison Realm appears behind Gojo.

Prison Realm opens and Gojo meets his gaze. Before he can run, Geto reveals himself and deeply confuses Gojo. This is Gojo's best friend, the man he killed with his very own hands almost a year ago. His Six Eyes tell him that this is Geto, and years of memories flood his brain. The minute required for the seal to activate is simply a minute's worth of time in Gojo's hyperaccelerated brain. Prison Realm takes hold and ensnares Gojo before he can properly react. Unable to move or access his cursed energy, Gojo knows he messed up and that this is checkmate.

Pseudo-Geto surprises Satoru Gojo (Anime) Gojo distracted by the return of his "best friend". Gojo still demands to know who this person is because he knows in his heart that his best friend is gone. Pseudo-Geto reveals himself to be an imposter who switched out Suguru Geto's brain with his own using a cursed technique. Gojo warns him that Yuta Okkotsu was the one who defeated Geto, but the imposter doesn't see what's so special about Yuta. He believes that the young man lost his abilities after freeing Rika's soul and claims he cannot be the next Satoru Gojo.

Meanwhile, down the Fukutoshin Line all the way back to Harajuku, Yuji realizes that a communication created by Mechamaru has been attached to his ear. He tells Yuji to listen closely and reveals that Satoru Gojo has been sealed.

Kokichi Muta accounted for his own demise and left behind an insurance plan for the Shibuya Incident. A small, circular communication device modeled after the face of Ultimate Mechamaru suddenly appears on Yuji's ear. Yuji takes it off of his ear and nearly breaks the device until Mechamaru tells him they're on the same side. Yuji stops trying to break it and agrees to listen, giving Mechamaru the chance to reveal that Satoru Gojo has been sealed.

Meanwhile, on the Fukutoshin Line Platform, Gojo is caught in Prison Realm's grasp. With the strongest sorcerer rendered helpless, Pseudo-Geto says goodbye to Gojo, claiming they'll meet again in the new world. Gojo admits it's over for him for now, but he says it's time for Suguru to wake up and demands he stop letting someone control him. This statement inspires a phenomenon that causes Geto's hand to grasp his own neck, rebelling against the imposter controlling him. Despite being violently choked, the imposter claims this has never happened before and is amused.

Satoru Gojo seal complete (Anime) The seal complete! Mahito awakens from his trance and Pseudo-Geto tells him his theory about the body and soul being separate is incorrect. He uses this phenomenon as evidence, but Mahito argues that they live in different worlds due to their cursed techniques. Pseudo-Geto believes that line of thinking is poetic and agrees with Mahito. Annoyed, Gojo tells them to hurry up and finish the seal, so he doesn't have to look at and listen to them anymore. Pseudo-Geto agrees he can't risk anything happening and completes the seal, closing Prison Realm and completing their main objective.

Back in Harujuku, Mei Mei has no reason to believe Mechamaru and demands proof that Gojo has been sealed. Mechamaru explains his circumstances and how his insurance plan was only set to activate in the event that the sealing took place. He left only three devices in case of this circumstance and one of them was left to Mei Mei's team because they were least likely to be moles. Mei Mei plays the devil's advocate and puts together a sound argument about her possibly being a mole. However, Mechamaru reveals there are curse users headed over to eliminate her as they speak. Yuji confirms that there are at least two enemies incoming and they're more powerful than the Grasshopper curse.

Satoru Gojo trapped inside Prison Realm (Anime) "It'll be okay. I have faith in everyone." Mei Mei wants to ignore the curse user and confirm this sealing for themselves, but Mechamaru asks that they follow his directions instead. Mei Mei is hesitant to listen, but Yuji pleads with her to do so until she finally agrees. Mechamaru asks Mei Mei to clear a path for Yuji so that he can return to Shibuya and inform every one of the sealing. The curse user, Niji Ebina arrives to confront Mei Mei and the three sorcerers get ready for a fight.

Meanwhile, in B5F of the Hikarie Building, Prison Realm gains a massive amount of weight and forces its way out of Pseudo-Geto's hands and onto the ground where it creates a small crater. It needs time to process Gojo and can't be moved until it's done. Inside, Gojo is trapped in a dimension where time doesn't pass but he doesn't express any concern. He recognizes that he messed up but he's not worried because he has faith that his allies will take care of everything.

Jujutsu High sorcerer teams join the Shibuya Incident (Anime) The three teams enter the battle at the same time! More curtains appear across Shibuya and transfigured humans are now attacking civilians trapped inside them. Team Zenin, Nanami, and Kusakabe are taken off standby and ordered into action to rescue the non-sorcerers. Nanami is annoyed that their response time was so late but he understands that's just how things work. Megumi and Ino agree with Nanami that the most concerning thing is the appearance of new curtains that bar sorcerers from getting close to where Gojo is. They're unsure of what happened to Gojo and decide to read the situation as they head into the battlefield. In Shibuya Station (outside the curtain), Ijichi tries to coordinate with the assistant managers over the phone to create a line of communication with the curtains blocking out cellphone reception. He's suddenly attacked from behind by the curse user, Haruta Shigemo, who stabs him multiple times through the back. The curse user, Uraume, orders him to target all of the assistant managers around the perimeter of the outermost curtain.

Another one of Mechamaru's communication devices is already at Gojo's location. It watches Pseudo-Geto and Mahito as the Prison Realm begins to process. Mahito notices the device and destroys it, but he and Geto know the secret is out, and sorcerers converge on their location. Mechamaru relays this information to Yuji just before he enters the curtain trapping civilians in the city. Immediately upon entering, Yuji fights and kills several transfigured humans in order to protect the bystanders. After dispatching the monsters, Yuji reaches the top of a tall building and yells as loudly as he can for everyone in the city to hear. He calls for Nanami and reveals that Gojo has been sealed. Nanami takes this very seriously and immediately changes course, ordering his team to meet up with Yuji. He is well aware that without Satoru Gojo, it's over for all humans in Japan.

Jogo and Choso disagree about killing Yuji (Anime) Choso and Jogo argue over how to handle Yuji. Now that the sorcerers will respond in numbers, Geto asks what his allies want to do in response. Choso wants to get revenge for his brothers but Jogo refuses to let him kill Yuji. Mahito wants to kill Yuji too and Jogo becomes furious with him. Mahito refuses to fight Jogo and explains his reasoning before proposing a game. If Mahito or Choso find Yuji first, they'll kill him. If Jogo finds Yuji first, he'll give him the fingers they've collected and turn him into Sukuna. Jogo argues the logical strategy is to hunker down and wait for their enemies to come to them, but Mahito ignores him and runs off. This forces Jogo to join the game, and everyone leaves B5F other than Pseudo-Geto.

Mimiko and Nanako confront Pseudo-Geto (Anime) Mimiko and Nanako threaten Geto's imposter. Pseudo-Geto notices Mimiko and Nanako hiding in the crowd and tells them the playful curses are smarter than they are. The twin sisters demand the imposter return Geto's body, but he refuses, having lied to them about promising to give it back. He tells them to form a binding vow next time they make an agreement with a sorcerer and threatens to kill them if they don't get lost. The girls begrudgingly leave but they warn the imposter that he'll regret this. Pseudo-Geto sits down, overlooking Prison Realm, and claims that he's long forgotten what regret feels like.

Satoru Gojo Rescue Operation (Anime) "We'll save Satoru Gojo!" Team Nanami finds Yuji on the roof and Megumi gets him to stop yelling. Mechamaru confirms the exact details of the situation to them and proposes that the teams of sorcerers attack the Gojo's location from the adjacent subway stations. This would require them to take down the curtain barring sorcerers first. Nanami tells the trio to take down the curtain while he meets up with Ijichi to handle some logistical stuff only grade 1 sorcerers can handle. Before leaving, Nanami tells Ino that he's leaving Yuji and Megumi in his care. Moved that Nanami has put his faith in him, Ino emphatically explains what will happen if Gojo isn't freed. Jujutsu sorcerers will squabble over the fall of the Gojo clan and then the forces of evil will take advantage. If this happens, even Yuji and Megumi know that the age of humans will end in Japan. Confident that the boys understand the stakes, Ino slaps them on the back and says it's time to move out. He swears that they'll take down the curtain before Nanami gets back and confidently adds that they'll rescue Satoru Gojo no matter what.

Four curtains overlap each other across Shibuya. One of them prevents sorcerers from moving freely across the city. Yuji tries to break it with a punch at full force, but the barrier wall doesn't budge. Ino is impressed by Yuji's strength, comparing him to Nanami's level of striking power. Megumi suggests they have to find a weak point and create a hole in the curtain even if it's only for a moment. While kicking a transfigured human, Yuji asks why this is necessary. Ino explains that the fundamentals of barriers are to surround oneself with a wall to protect them. He believes the user must be inside the curtain, but Yuji reveals what happened at Meiji-Jingumae Station. Ino understands his logic, as due to a binding vow, staying outside the barrier increases the risk of being caught in exchange for reinforcing it. Following this line of thinking, such an incredibly sturdy barrier has to be established somewhere that stands out. Yuji, Megumi, and Ino all come to the same conclusion as they look up at Shibuya Central Tower.

Yuji drops Awasaka off Shibuya Tower (Anime) Yuji drops one of the curse users off Shibuya Tower. Three curse users stand atop the tower and discuss whether or not the jujutsu sorcerers figure out their scheme. They agree the top of the tower is the most obvious spot in the city and that even if they're discovered, the transfigured humans on the lower floors will serve as a roadblock. However, Yuji and Ino use Nue to scale the tower and surprise attack the curse users. Using a wire he got from Maki, Yuji and Nue snag all three curse users on the line at once. While Yuji gets the curse users away from the source of the curtain, Ino dashes for it. The elderly male curse user, Jiro Awasaka, realizes they must know about commissioned curtains. Stakes wrapped in talismans serve as the base for the curtain. A barrier technique is already infused in the talisman and it only requires a sorcerer to activate it with cursed energy and the incantation. Ino heads to where one of these talismans is and destroys it but he quickly notices that two are missing. Awasaka has both in hand and Yuji decides to take him out by further ensnaring him in the wire before dropping him off the skyscraper.

Kaichi following Ogami (Anime) Ino fighting Ogami and her grandson. The elderly female curse user, Ogami tells her "grandson" to prepare. Ino readies himself as well, lowering his mask over his face and stating that it's time for him to carve a path to becoming grade 1. Yuji exits the tower and regroups with Megumi on the street level. Megumi already has eyes on Awasaka's body but something isn't right. Regardless of cursed energy reinforcement, Awasaka's body is too clean from the impact. Megumi demands he get up and he eventually does, cursing the youth for not having any pity on the elderly. As they both activate their jujutsu, Megumi tells Yuji they can't waste any time on him, and Yuji assures him they won't.

Ino is insistent that Nanami be the one who recommends him for grade 1 because he looks up to him. When doing dirty work like sorcery, Ino wants to try and do things the right way. Whenever he thinks of how things should be done, he thinks of Nanami. Faced with two curse users, Ino summons auspicious beast no. 1: Kaichi. This conjures a drill-like projectile that carves away a large section of the grandson's defending arm. Ogami finds it ironic that their opponent is also using a seance technique. Ino summons Reiki next, generating a black liquid he commands at will. He uses it to slide around and strike the grandson with increased mobility.

Toad throwing Awasaka (Anime) Yuji and Megumi attack a seemingly invincible Awasaka. Meanwhile, Yuji and Megumi fight together against Awasaka. Megumi finds it more difficult to work together with Yuji than fighting the enemy itself. Yuji lands hard punches and Divine Dog's claws slash the curse user across the face. Yet Awasaka comes right back and slashes Yuji with a knife. Yuji repels him with another strike and then Megumi's Toad slams Awasaka into an overpass. Despite all this, Awasaka remains undamaged, confusing the boys. Megumi asks Yuji about saying they wouldn't waste time, but he has no rebuttal.

Ogami prays with her beads and Ino tries to interrupt it only for the grandson to protect her with his body. Ino wins every exchange with the curse user, but he notices something is up. Ogami completes her preparations, and the grandson consumes a capsule containing DNA. The necromancer seances the soul of none other than Toji Fushiguro into the grandson, granting him his physical abilities. The grandson catches Ino's Kaichi as the sorcerer tries to stop them and his face begins to shift into Toji's. Ogami asks him how the transformation is going, and with Toji's voice, the grandson claims it's the best one ever.

Awasaka kicking Yuji (Anime) "I'm always in the prime of my life!!" On December 7th, 1989, Satoru Gojo was born. Back then, jujutsu sorcerers were too busy with cursed spirits to go after villainous curse users. Sorcerers like Ogami and Awasaka could kill and make money as hitmen all they wanted. This was the status quo until Satoru Gojo changed everything. A hit was put out on him at a young age, but Awasaka and Ogami understood exactly how dangerous he was from one glance from the Six Eyes. Awasaka and the other curse users cooperating with Pseudo-Geto are doing so because they had their freedom stolen from them by Gojo's mere presence in the world. Awasaka rejects retirement and continues to fight because he'll always trample over the weak until the day he dies.

Toji relentlessly beating Ino (Anime) Ino's brutal defeat at "Toji's" hands. Megumi lands another solid blow and Yuji questions how he can still be unharmed. Megumi knows it must be the curse user's innate technique and assumes it can't be something as overpowered as damage nullification. He bluffs in order to confirm that Awasaka can't defeat Gojo and decides to test out a hypothesis. Megumi activates Rabbit Escape, summoning a large swarm of hares that blocks off their opponent. Megumi grabs Yuji and tells him to retreat for now because he's figured out their opponent's technique.

Ino realizes that his opponent has been transformed through a seance because Granny Ogami is a medium, just like him. He quickly switches his focus because he knows that's not his main problem, he can tell from a single glance that Toji is extremely powerful. Ino attempts to summon no. 4: Ryu, but Toji takes his mask off in a flash. Before Ino can even fully turn around, Toji lands a devastating punch to the chin and then pummels Ino with rapid-fire punches.

Yuji defeats Awasaka (Anime) Yuji overcomes Awasaka's technique and defeats him. Awasaka assumes his opponents will launch a surprise attack from behind the cover of the rabbits. However, Megumi dispels them and then drops down with Max Elephant from above. Awasaka resists its weight and Megumi quickly dispels it as well. The curse user tells Megumi to be more direct, but the student says that's more his partner's style. Yuji hurls an entire car at the curse user and they both prepare for a follow-up attack. Awasaka expects a desperate full-power swing from his opponents and is confident he can strike them down with a counterattack. His innate technique is Inverse, making attacks weaker the stronger they are and vice versa. Unknown to the curse user, Megumi has already figured this out. The duo baits Awasaka into activating his technique and then Toad strikes with a weak attack from its tongue.

Yuji and Megumi attack with a mix of strong and weak blows while Awasaka is staggered, barraging him with several effective strikes. Awasaka realizes they've got him figured out, but he eventually forces them back and tells them not to get cocky. Yuji charges up a max-power swing and the two fights are poised to clash. However, Yuji stops his own momentum just before impact and adjusts it into a weaker punch, knocking Awasaka unconscious with his own technique. Megumi commends Yuji for pulling off refined attacks so well and the latter is surprised he thinks so.

Then she asks Ebina the same question and he is unable to answer, remaining silent with his head bowed. She then reveals that service potential is life itself for her before swinging her axe down on Ebina.

However, she shockingly discovers that Toji Fushiguro usurped control over her grandson's body, despite her only channeling Toji's body's information using her Séance Technique. Nobara using Hairpin on Shigemo (Anime) Nobara fighting Haruta Shigemo. While on their way, Nobara and Akari are confronted by the curse user Haruta Shigemo on Shoto Bunkamura Street. He is happy to finally run into a girl after taking out so many male managers. Nobara believes that Shigemo is the one who attacked Ijichi and she asks Nitta to pretend to hide in the subway entrance while escaping through another. Shigemo interrupts their whispering by throwing his sword at Nobara. She deflects it with her hammer and charges at him while Akari runs. He avoids her attacks while his thrown sword chases after Akari by itself. Eventually, the sword catches up to Akari and slashes her ankles, causing her to fall. Through this attack, Shigemo learns that Akari is not hiding and runs after her, with Nobara giving chase.

Entering the station, Shigemo runs up to Akari and delivers a soccer kick to her sternum, injuring her and upsetting Nobara. Regaining his sword, Shigemo continues to effortlessly dodge Nobara's attacks and parries her thrown nails into the ceiling above himself with his sword. Using Hairpin, Nobara causes the ceiling to collapse on Shigemo, who remains in place as the debris falls around him without injuring him. Unable to see the curse user due to the debris and believing he is defeated, Nobara shifts her attention to Akari, allowing Shigemo's sword to fly out of the dust cloud and land a punch on her jaw, concussing her and leaving her extremely dazed.

However, the curse user reveals that he doesn't have any convictions and kills simply because it's fun for him. He stabs Akari repeatedly while she's on the ground, angering Nobara. She tells him to stop, and he replies mockingly by asking her to make him stop. Nobara stumbles back to her feet determined to save Akari but struggles to attack Shigemo. Just as the two clash weapons, the glass door to the station shatters.

Nanami walks into the substation and immediately glares at the curse user with an angry expression on his face. Shigemo kicks Nobara away and notices Nanami's attire and wonders if he's supposed to kill non-black suits too. He attempts to hold Akari hostage but realizes that she managed to escape using the escalator while he was distracted. Nanami appears behind him and asks Shigemo how many curse users there are and where they are located. Shigemo turns around and slashes Nanami in the shoulder before kicking him, claiming he doesn't know. However, both attacks are completely ineffective, surprising the curse user. As Nanami stands over Shigemo, the curse user's cursed tool attacks Nanami from behind. However, Nobara nails it to the ceiling. Shigemo angrily tells her to read the room, but Nanami interrupts and lifts him up by the throat. Instead of repeating the question again, Nanami reveals he found several dead managers on his way here. He charges his fist with cursed energy, asking if Shigemo is responsible. A terrified Shigemo apologizes, but Nanami nonetheless punches him in the face and sends him crashing out of the station and into a nearby building. She says it's a shame that her preferred of the two special grade students ended up this way. Pseudo-Geto replies that he also feels sorry to have to kill a former upperclassman and summons a special grade disease curse: Smallpox Deity to fight Mei Mei, promising to battle her himself if she manages to exorcise it. The disease curse immediately activates Domain Expansion, trapping Mei Mei inside a coffin. The curse begins chanting, causing a large gravestone to fall from the sky onto the coffin, much to Ui Ui's horror. Then the curse begins a three count, but Mei Mei breaks out before it ends. He also informs the girls about Gojo's situation, something they didn't hear about since they headed indoors away from Yuji's yelling. Nanami asks them to wait for rescue while he joins the Zenin Team and heads for Shibuya Station. Nobara wants to go but Nanami insists that the coming battles require sorcerers grade 1 and above, anyone else would simply be in the way.

Yuji notices it being Toge, who gives him a peace signed hand gesture. He jumps down asking Inumaki to protect the civilians, Toge responds by saying "Salmon, salmon" and Itadori quickly leaves the scene and heads to the station, deciding it's best to leave it to his upperclassman. Once Itadori leaves, Toge promptly unzips his turtleneck and pulls out what appears to be a megaphone. He then uses his Cursed Speech against the transfigured humans.

Caught off guard by the Piercing Blood's incredible speed, Itadori tries to defend, but the attack immediately pierces clean through his left arm. Itadori bends his body to the left which prevents the attack from amputating his arm, making the attack shoot upwards and penetrate the ceiling, slicing a sign in two from above instead.

Choso immediately follows up by casting Convergence again, swirling blood and condensing it between his palms. Yuji gets low and rushes toward Choso with great haste whilst avoiding the incoming Piercing Blood simultaneously. Before Choso can attack with more blood, Yuji uppercuts him with his injured arm. Choso blocks the punch with his arm and leg as Yuji winces from the pain. Choso's guard is hit with a double impact, something Choso finds strange.

Choso's rage for his younger brothers (Anime) Choso prepares to avenge his brothers. Choso asks if his younger brothers had any last words before they died but Yuji doesn't know who he's talking about. Choso clarifies that he means the two people Yuji killed and the student says they didn't really have last words, but they did cry before they died. Choso is initially shocked and then quickly overcome with rage as he uses Flowing Red Scale. Choso asks Eso and Kechizu to watch over him as he exudes massive volumes of blood behind him that covers the ceiling above him. He then gathers the blood into an orb in his hand. Yuji quickly charges and tries to kick him, though Choso dodges the attack. However, Yuji then grabs and wrestles him to the floor before slapping the blood orb away, causing it to explode on the floor.

Yuji tries to punch Choso in the face, though the latter dodges it and kicks Yuji off of him. Laying on the floor, Yuji quickly rolls to the side as spikes of blood rain down on him. Choso then fires a massive wave of blood at Yuji, blasting him against the wall before drawing the blood back into his hand. Before he can open his eyes after being blinded by the blood, Yuji is punched by Choso, who then sweeps him off his feet and attempts to smash him against the wall with a blood-covered palm. Yuji narrowly dodges the attack, though Choso quickly grabs him by the left arm and successfully delivers a blow to his chest, knocking him away. Choso then regathers all his blood and uses Convergence, preparing to fire another Piercing Blood.

With the gap widened between them, Yuji estimates that he only has a fifty percent chance of avoiding Piercing Blood since it is too fast. He decides to control the timing of Choso's attack by jumping off the ground, baiting him into firing Piercing Blood the moment he lands. Yuji immediately dodges the blood beam by ducking under it and rushes toward Choso. Choso bends the beam to try and hit Yuji, though the latter avoids it again since Piercing Blood isn't as fast after the initial shot and quickly closes the distance, launching a punch at Choso. Unbeknownst to him, there are three floating orbs of condensed blood behind him.

Choso using Supernova on Yuji (Anime) Yuji is critically wounded by Supernova. Choso activates Supernova, detonating the orbs of blood which shoot out blood in every direction like a buckshot, severely injuring Yuji's back. The Death Painting follows up by using Blood Edge to stab Yuji's feet with a dagger made of blood. Enduring the pain, Yuji uses his stabbed foot and kicks Choso away. However, Choso quickly recovers and uses Convergence and Piercing Blood again to try and finish Yuji off.

Yuji is launched away by the attack but survives, and Choso admits he was too hasty. The blood wasn't condensed enough and didn't fully pierce Yuji's gut. Still heavily injured, Yuji recognizes that Choso is too strong for him. As Choso transforms the floating blood orbs around him into rings, Mechamaru suddenly starts speaking again through the communication device. Surprising the injured student with his voice, Mechamaru asks Yuji about the situation. Yuji replies with his own question, asking where Mechamaru has been this whole time. Mechamaru claims he is saving energy because there is something he still needs to do. Mechamaru recognizes the Death Painting and tells Yuji that Choso is using Blood Manipulation, the same cursed technique as Noritoshi Kamo.

Choso launches a ring of blood at Yuji, who dodges it and takes cover. Mechamaru further explains that he doesn't know Blood Manipulation's weakness. The inherited technique is prized within the Kamo Clan for its overall balance in combat. Yuji doesn't find this info helpful as he narrowly dodges another Slicing Exorcism. Mechamaru advises him to retreat to the bathroom, revealing that he has an idea. However, his plan only has ten percent chance of success, but it is better than dying gradually out in the open.

As Choso destroys his cover with Piercing Blood, Yuji darts across the hallway and towards the bathroom. Choso attempts to stop him by destroying the ceiling above and floor below him, but Yuji nevertheless makes it towards the bathroom. The Death Painting finds the action foolish, as there is only a bathroom and an elevator in the hallway Yuji ran into. As he walks after Yuji, Choso hears noises coming from the area and remembers that Yuji defeated his brothers, so he's no fool. Though he intends to be cautious, Mechamaru's voice calls out to Choso, taunting him by calling him a coward just like his brothers. This angers Choso, who runs into the bathroom where he finds Mechamaru's communication device attached to the opposite wall amidst a bathroom with its sprinklers and faucets destroyed to continuously spray water. Mechamaru says the three Death Painting brothers are full of love full each other and so easy to manipulate. Using Piercing Blood, Choso destroys the puppet, and Yuji suddenly appears behind Choso and attacks. Choso slides further into the bathroom after blocking and crushes the remaining piece of Mechamaru's device with his hand.

Choso prepares to use the condensed blood floating around him to finish the fight, but the water splashing around the room abruptly dispels Convergence, causing the blood orbs to explode. This is because Blood Manipulation normally stops blood from clotting. For that reason, it dissolves easier in water. Due to these specific circumstances, Choso is unable to manipulate blood outside his body. Choso doesn't quite understand what happened, but he decides to use Flowing Red Scale: Stack, focusing on controlling the blood within his body. Yuji doesn't get the logic either, but he does understand that they're fighting where's he's comfortable now, in close quarters.

Yuji and Choso duel in the bathroom (Anime) Yuji and Choso prepare to duel. The two combatants take a moment to face off and assume their fighting stances while water violently breaks the appliances and floods the room from every direction. They engage in a quick exchange of physical blows, with Yuji gaining the upper hand. However, just as Yuji gets the advantage, Choso compresses the blood in his hand to the limit and reinforces it with cursed energy in order to fire a Blood Meteorite straight into Yuji's liver. Yuji is taken off guard because he thought Choso was out of projectiles thanks to Mechamaru's water trick. Yuji immediately recognizes he's been hit in a vital organ and considers the thought of losing and dying. However, he stomps on the ground and regains his focus.

Yuji converts his fear into cursed energy and clears his mind of all distractions. Yuji knows his role; he must do his best to help save Gojo sensei even if it costs him his life. He doesn't have to be the one to save him and Yuji is ready to die if that's what it takes to bring down Choso.

At the same time, Choso laments about much damage he's taken. Yuji has only landed three significant strikes, yet Choso is moderately injured. He knows using another surprise attack with Blood Meteorite won't work. Generally, Blood Manipulation isn't used to harden blood. Blood Edge creates a blade by rotating the user's blood into a cutting shape. Choso hides a tooth in his right fist and hardens his entire fist and much of his forearm using the blood inside his body. He's at risk of spontaneously developing thrombosis, but Choso determines that Yuji is a more severe threat.

Choso defeats Yuji (Anime) Choso knocks out Yuji. Yuji and Choso exchange blows once again, during which Choso uses the hidden tooth as a feint against Yuji and lands a solid punch to his face. The two continue their attacks, with Choso using his technique to temporarily create bladed weapons, such as a dagger or claws attached to his fist to attack Yuji and dispelling them when Yuji blocks them to blind him. On the other hand, Yuji lands a few powerful kicks that decently damage Choso. Eventually, Yuji locks his legs around his opponent's head and throws him with a flying scissor legs takedown. While Choso is staggered, Yuji closes the distance and punches with his right hand as a decoy. He believes Choso thinks his left arm is useless after suffering a direct hit from the first Piercing Blood and uses it to land a hard left blow to Choso's body. However, something doesn't feel right to Yuji and Choso abruptly cracks his collarbone with a violent hammer fist to the right shoulder. This leaves a giant dent where Yuji's shoulder should be, leaving him vulnerable to Choso's next attack. The Death Painting finishes the fight with a crushing blow to Yuji's stomach that sends him flying across the room and crashing into the wall.

Choso lifts his robe and reveals that he protected the part of his body Yuji attacked with hardened blood. Yuji falls unconscious but is still barely breathing. Choso prepares to finish him off and tells the jujutsu sorcerer to ask for his brothers' forgiveness on the other side. Sukuna watches from his innate domain, disappointed with Yuji's performance. He calls the jujutsu student worthless and can't believe he lost to such an inferior opponent.

Choso's false memory with Yuji among his brothers (Anime) A memory that never happened. However, it turns out that Choso punched the wall next to Yuji instead. The wall crumbles and Yuji falls to the floor as Choso stumbles out of the bathroom, abruptly stricken with a headache. A memory of a past event that never happened appears inside Choso's mind. He "recalls" eating peacefully at a picnic table with all his brothers, somehow also including Yuji. They were both eating with Eso and Kechizu as well as the other six brothers still sealed in constraints as Cursed Womb: Death Paintings. Yuji even fed him some spaghetti and called Choso "big bro". When the memory ends, Choso is seen spitting up blood. He is confused about why Yuji was a part of that recollection as he stumbles away. Mimiko and Nanako then appear and find the unconscious Yuji and begin to do something to him.

Inside the Smallpox Deity's Domain Expansion, Ui Ui watches in horror as Mei Mei is momentarily trapped underground beneath another one of the disease curse's gravestones. The cursed spirit counts down from three, but Mei Mei breaks out of the coffin in time. She leaps toward her enemy and attempts to swing her axe, but once again she's instantly trapped inside a coffin by the domain's automatic hit. Mei Mei comments on the tight space and begins to understand the process of the special grade's technique.

Mei Mei breaking out of the gravestone (Anime) Mei Mei breaks free from the Smallpox Deity's trap. First, the target of the domain is trapped inside a coffin. Then, they are buried underground when they are hit by the weight of the large gravestone. Lastly, the curse counts down from three and if the target does not break free before the count is up, they will be infected with smallpox and die. Breaking free from the trap once again, Mei Mei grabs Ui Ui and hides behind a tombstone with him. Mei Mei finds the large gravestone to be the most dangerous aspect of the domain. She fears that she would be unable to move if she is hit by it twice more, which would be disadvantageous for her fight with Pseudo-Geto later.

Mei Mei hypothesizes that the curse automatically targets the person with the strongest cursed energy in the domain. She then notices that two of her crows were caught inside the domain and uses her innate technique to increase the cursed energy in one of the crows. That crow is immediately targeted and subsequently killed by the disease curse.

With her hypothesis proven, Mei Mei devises a counterattack by having Ui Ui become the curse's target to buy her time, though she notes that Ui Ui will likely die if he is hit by the gravestone. She asks her little brother if she's willing to die for her and he replies that he's more than happy to do anything for her.

Ui Ui comes out from behind the gravestone and releases his cursed energy, noticing that his older sister suppressed hers. The disease curse notices the swelling energy and traps Ui Ui inside a coffin. But as the curse begins its chant and forms the requisite hand sign, Mei Mei suddenly slices its hands off with her axe. Injured, the curse disappears.

The grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer tells the disease curse that Ui Ui's role is more than just that of a pack mule. Ui Ui proves this by activating New Shadow Style: Simple Domain to protect himself within the coffin. It is revealed that when Mei Mei asked if Ui Ui was willing to die for her, it was her signal of permitting him to use jujutsu. Mei Mei says that his role is to counter domains, and she doesn't like to be indebted to anyone.

Mei Mei using Bird Strike (Anime) Mei Mei exorcises the disease curse. As Mei Mei searches for the special grade disease curse, it suddenly appears behind her with its hands healed and reaches out to attack her. Suddenly, the last crow flies through the side of the cursed spirit, piercing and exorcising it in a single ferocious blow. While the disease curse is dealt a fatal blow, Mei Mei's crow spontaneously dies as well. Mei Mei asks what the quickest way is to raise one's strength as a sorcerer. Ui Ui answers that it would be a Binding Vow with one's life as the tradeoff for more power. He further explains that Mei Mei's innate technique is Black Bird Manipulation. Her extension technique, Bird Strike, forces a crow to commit suicide, exceeding the limits of its cursed energy in return before slamming into an opponent. No one other than Satoru Gojo has ever survived the devastating attack.

With the domain dispelled, Mei Mei and Ui Ui emerge from it and confront Pseudo-Geto, who has summoned a dragon-like curse. Declaring that it is time for the main act, Mei Mei calls a flock of crows to her side that fill the underground subway and asks if they're ready to die for her. Pseudo-Geto comes to confront her and admits that she's not bad for a jujutsu sorcerer of the modern era.

At 10:20 P.M. on the Inokashira Line of Shibuya Station, Kento Nanami, Naobito Zenin and Maki Zenin head toward B5F. Nanami informs them about Satoru Gojo's sealing and Pseudo-Geto's involvement. Naobito mentions he wouldn't mind the decline of the Gojo Clan, prompting Maki to tell him to leave if he's not going to help. The head of the Zenin Family retorts that Maki is the one who should go home before asking for Nanami's opinion. Nanami agrees with Naobito, having left Nobara behind due to the danger of the mission. Maki believes she's more useful than her drunken uncle. Irritated, Nanami asks Naobito if he's been drinking, and the special grade 1 sorcerer claims he's done nothing of the sort.

A few minutes later, the sorcerers reach the lower floors of the station. Nanami and Maki notice the octopus-like curse Dagon hiding behind one of the pillars in the open area. Nanami draws his sword and prepares to exorcise him. However, Naobito suddenly next to Dagon, who trapped the curse in a frame using his cursed technique. While Dagon is immobilized inside the frame, Naobito lands a heavy punch that sends the curse flying across the station and crashing into another pillar. Nanami and Maki were unable to see how Naobito approached Dagon so quickly, though the former surmises that it is due to his cursed technique.

Dagon evolves (Anime) Dagon evolves due to his rage over Hanami's death. The impact severely injures Dagon, causing him to vomit up the skeletal remains of the numerous non-sorcerers he ate. As it crawls on the bones and writhes in pain, Dagon calls out to his allies, including Hanami. Dagon suddenly realizes Hanami is dead, enraging him and causing him to evolve. Dagon leaves his original skin behind and evolves into a much larger, muscular form. Naobito recognizes that the curse was so weak before because he was only a cursed womb.

The newly evolved Dagon generates a large sphere of water behind him before unleashing it, flooding the entire area. To avoid the water current, Maki stabs her spear into one of the pillars and stands on it to avoid the furious water current. She is shocked by the pure volume of water the cursed spirit is outputting. Meanwhile, Naobito manages to shield himself by trapping much of the water coming his way within projection frames with his cursed technique.

Naobito asks the cursed spirit if he knows how many frames there are in a single second of animation. Dagon reveals his name and asks to be addressed as such. Naobito goes on about how everything is about resolution these days, expressing his frustration at the modern tendency to raise resolution and frame rate, as well as how the frame interpolation feature is set on by default on modern television which creates a soap opera effect that he dislikes. At the same time, Dagon yells out that all his allies bear names. Naobito yells back and says that concepts such 4K upscaling and 60FPS frame interpolation are so unrefined.

Naobito and Nanami fighting Dagon (Anime) The sorcerers put the pressure on Dagon. While Dagon is distracted, Nanami gets above him and strikes using his sword. Dagon blocks it but is sent crashing into the ground. Maki attempts to follow up with an attack of her own, but Dagon grabs the blade of her cursed tool. Before he counterattacks, Naobito traps him inside a frame and throws him to Nanami, who dives down to strike the cursed spirit out of it. Dagon is able to protect himself from Nanami this time by catching the blade with his hands before pushing him away with a blast of water. As the two land on the ground, Dagon generates a whirling shield of water that circles around him.

Nanami understands that they are dealing damage but is frustrated by the feeling that the curse has boundless health. Naobito is impressed that two grade 1 jujutsu sorcerers aren't enough to exorcise the cursed spirit. Maki laments being saved by Naobito, humiliated by the fact she would have died if he hadn't stopped Dagon earlier.

Naobito commends Dagon for being able to pull off multiple simultaneous cursed techniques. He recognizes that the curse has massive amounts of cursed energy and likely more techniques up his sleeve. In order to counter, Naobito leads the way and claims they'll all crush him with speed before he can activate any more moves. Before the jujutsu sorcerers could attack Dagon, he causes the water to explode as a distraction and levitates in the air. However, Naobito suddenly appears behind Dagon and says he foresaw the curse attempting to flee up high. He kicks Dagon onto the ground and follows up with powerful attacks while overwhelming Dagon with pure speed, which the curse admits is even faster than Jogo, and his Projection Sorcery.

Dagon activates Domain Expansion (Anime) Dagon activates his Domain Expansion. Eventually, Dagon is knocked to the ground and attempts to form his fingers together to create a hand sign, but Naobito destroys his fingers with a punch. However, a cursed seal forms on Dagon's stomach area, allowing him to cast Domain Expansion. In an instant, Dagon disappears and Naobito is trapped inside a coastal domain, looking out at sea.

Dagon reveals that he trapped Nanami, Naobito, and Maki inside his Domain Expansion: Horizon of the Captivating Skandha. Inside the coastal domain, Nanami and Maki are both suddenly bitten by piranha shikigami. The domain's guaranteed hit creates shikigami that don't exist until they hit the target. Meanwhile, Naobito is easily able to counter the domain's attacks with Secret Art: Falling Blossom Emotion.

Dagon decides to focus seventy percent of his power on Noabito and the other thirty percent on Nanami. Unleashing his technique Death Swarm, Dagon calls upon a swarm of shikigami to attack his foes. Knowing the shikigami will instantly eat them alive, Nanami warns Maki to attack without hesitation, though he is interrupted when several shikigami abruptly appear to devour him first.

Naobito using Falling Blossom Emotion (Anime) Naobito protects himself against Death Swarm. Naobito resists the wave of shikigami using Fallen Blossom Emotion, but he still recognizes this situation does not favor him. He notices the force of the shikigami isn't slowing down at all and wonders about the technique connected to the domain. His thoughts are abruptly stopped when Dagon hides in the stream of shikigami and punches Naobito through a forest area on the beach. Naobito tries to reactivate Falling Blossom Emotion, but Dagon suddenly appears behind him and ensnares him with a shikigami's bite. Maki then attempts to attack Dagon but is also bitten by a few shikigami, leaving her unable to move or fight back. Dagon turns to Maki and says she's the weakest among the three before kicking her hard into the forest. Dagon reveals Death Swarm is an endless stream of shikigami as more and more appear to devour Naobito after launching him into the air.

Despite the heavy hit, Maki survives and tells the curse to finish her in one hit if he is going to insult her strength. Dagon threatens to give her the same fate as the other two. Suddenly, a geyser of liquid shadow erupts from the ocean near the beach, getting Dagon and Maki's attention instantly. Megumi Fushiguro appears from the geyser right on time and calls out to Maki. He extends his shadow out to her, allowing Maki to pick up the special grade cursed tool: Playful Cloud. Grateful for the help, Maki tells Megumi that he really is a cocky brat.

Megumi invading Dagon's domain (Anime) Megumi breaks into Dagon's domain with his own. Megumi surmises that Dagon is the master of the domain. Dagon believes Megumi to be foolish for entering his domain voluntarily and attacks him with two shikigamis, but misses the attack. A confused Dagon then blocks an attack from Maki using Playful Cloud, though the power behind the strike causes him to recoil. Maki then follows up with another blow that sends Dagon flying into the ocean water. He recovers from the attacks and recognizes that his guaranteed hit has been nullified because of Megumi's domain engaging in a domain tug-of-war with his. The cursed spirit decides to prioritize defeating Megumi and sends two fish shikigami from his body towards his adversary. Nanami suddenly appears, jumping on multiple Toads manifested from Megumi's Chimera Shadow Garden and slicing apart the shikigamis with his Ratio Technique. Megumi is surprised to see him and Nanami asks about Yuji Itadori and Takuma Ino. Megumi informs him of their statuses and Nanami asks Megumi to concentrate on maintaining the domain while he focuses on protecting him.

Dagon is shocked that Nanami managed to withstand Death Swarm for about a minute. Suddenly, Naobito appears behind him and attacks with blinding speed. Dagon is equally surprised the old man survived as well and blocks the attack. Maki appears behind the cursed spirit and Dagon defends by spawning two large eel-like shikigami to repel the sorcerers. Maki destroys the one attacking her by hitting it with Playful Cloud while Naobito crushes the one attacking him with a powerful stomp. Naobito tells Dagon that all his attack did was take his right arm. He adds that even if it was seventy-one years old, it will still cost the curse dearly.

Toji enters Dagon's domain (Anime) Toji enters the domain. Nanami continues defending Megumi but the young sorcerer is reaching his limit. Megumi reveals that he's actually trying to open a hole in the domain's barrier rather than engaging in a domain battle. He guesses that the disaster curse likely can't use Domain Expansion multiple times in the same day, so if the jujutsu sorcerers can escape they can win. Nanami makes sure that Megumi isn't planning on staying behind and the student clarifies that he has no intention of throwing his life away.

Nanami calls out to the Zenins and tells them to assemble. The two rush toward him immediately. Dagon is confused for a moment, but he quickly realizes his adversaries' plan. He rushes to stop them, though Nanami believes it is too late as a hole appears in the ground below Megumi that leads outside the barrier. However, before the sorcerers can exit the domain, Toji Fushiguro suddenly enters the domain through the hole.

Reaching his limit, Megumi reveals to Nanami that he's actually trying to open a hole in the domain's barrier rather than engaging in a domain battle. Believing that Dagon likely can't cast domain expansion twice in the same day, if the jujutsu sorcerers can escape, they can win. Nanami makes sure Megumi doesn't plan on staying behind and the student clarifies that he has no intention of throwing his life away.

Nanami calls out to the Zenins and tells them to assemble in a roundabout way. They put their trust in Nanami's words and rush toward him immediately. Dagon is confused for a moment, but he quickly figures out his adversaries' plan. He panics and rushes to stop them. Nanami believes it's too late as a hole appears in the ground below Megumi that leads outside the barrier.

Everyone assembles in time to escape, but something unexpected happens. Before the sorcerers can exit the domain, Toji Fushiguro suddenly enters through the hole. Surprised, Megumi looks up at the man floating in the air and wonders who this person could be. Maki notices the intruder is a human and wonders if he is a jujutsu sorcerer while Dagon wonders why his adversaries would let someone in rather than escape.

Toji disappears from mid-air before suddenly grabbing onto Playful Cloud with blinding speed. Maki notices his immense strength while she's also holding on to the weapon. Toji easily snatches the cursed tool from Maki, throwing her aside to arm himself with Playful Cloud. Maki didn't notice any cursed energy coming from him and is shocked that she actually lost a contest of pure strength. Megumi reveals to Nanami that the hole he opened in the barrier has been closed and it won't be easy to open another, especially since Dagon has figured out their plan. Naobito is the only one among them who recognizes Toji, uttering his name upon recognizing him. Toji then walks off of Megumi's shadows and into the water, slowly approaching Dagon with Playful Cloud in hand.

Toji running with Playful Cloud (Anime) Toji bares his fangs at Dagon. It is explained that while Granny Ogami's Séance Technique had the capability to continue after death, it was never meant to last forever. The technique is supposed to end when the host's cursed energy runs out. However, Ogami's grandson's soul did not possess cursed energy, and Toji's body that overwrote it does not consume cursed energy. Therefore, there is no signal for the séance to end and now it has run rampant, causing Toji to fight completely on instinct until his vessel breaks, transforming him into a puppet of carnage.

Toji takes a fighting stance to fight Dagon with Playful Cloud. The cursed spirit notices that Toji has no cursed energy and believes he is not worth his attention. He summons an eel-like shikigami to attack but Toji obliterates it in a single swing. With incredible speed, Toji charges Dagon and strikes him in the head with the three-section-staff, sending him flying into the water.

The two continue their battle on the surface of the water, which Toji runs on effortlessly. Dagon tries to attack Toji with three fish shikigami, but he blocks them with Playful Cloud and even catches one with his mouth. Knocked away once more, Dagon summons a swarm of numerous smaller shikigami to attack, but Toji effortlessly rushes through all the fish, striking them apart with the cursed tool on his way to attack Dagon. Dagon attempts to summon an eel shikigami out of his stomach, but it is struck by Toji using Playful Cloud. However, the shikigami transforms into two smaller eels, wrapping around the cursed tool and ensnaring Toji.

As Toji falls deep into the ocean, Dagon summons countless piranha shikigami that swarm Toji along with two giant isopod shikigami. However, they're dispatched by Toji just as easily as the rest. The waves caused by the fallen giant shikigami push Dagon to shore, where Toji also lands safely before continuing their fight on the sand. Dagon tries to protect himself with his water shield, but Toji annihilates it in a single blow before slamming the staff on the curse twice, injuring it.

Toji sharpens Playful Cloud (Anime) Toji sharpens Playful Cloud. Dumbfounded by the newcomer's abilities, Maki asks Naobito who that man is, who responds that he is just a ghost. Meanwhile, Toji continues to dominate Dagon in their fight, dodging his wave of shikigami before wrapping Playful Cloud around his head and using it to heavily stomp the curse in his face. Nanami asks Megumi to hold onto his domain for just a little longer because they're going to need to bet on Toji. Rubbing Playful Cloud together to sharpen its shape, Toji creates a loud noise that irritates everyone.

Injured, Dagon barely stands back up and comes to the realization that he might lose to a human without cursed energy. However, if he were to regain his domain's guaranteed-hit effect, he would have the advantage again. Noticing that Megumi's domain is weakening, Dagon attempts to buy time until Megumi's domain runs out by levitating in the air. However, Naobito anticipated this and leaps behind Dagon's head to stop his progress. As Toji stacks Playful Cloud's three sections on top of each other to vault himself into the air, Naobito kicks Dagon towards the murder machine. The curse puts his guard up, but Toji stabs Playful Cloud clean straight through his face.

Toji finishes off Dagon (Anime) Toji exorcises Dagon. Dagon attempts to struggle, but Toji brutally threads the other sharpened end of Playful Cloud through Dagon's head and stabs him in the eye as well. He then breaks the chain connecting the three-section staff together and uses the middle staff and the sharpened staff in Dagon's eye to rapidly bludgeon and pierce Dagon's head, obliterating the curse.

The domain is dispelled, and Maki is shocked that the lone fighter was able to exorcise such a powerful cursed spirit singlehandedly. Coughing up blood, Megumi is exhausted from holding his domain for so long and takes the moment to catch his breath. Nanami knows that if Megumi hadn't appeared, they would have all been killed. But now they have a new problem, they can't be sure if Toji is on their side or not.

Toji slowly approaches the four sorcerers. Suddenly, the corridor window breaks, and Megumi finds himself falling onto the road outside, unable to remember how he got there. Megumi lands safely but he looks across the street at his opponent with a surprised expression. He claims this ridiculous level of speed even surpasses Sukuna's from back when they fought.

Maki yells out of concern for Megumi, but she's interrupted by a new presence behind her. Jogo arrives to mourn Dagon, picking up his exorcised ashes and bids farewell to his friend. Heavily injured, Naobito and Nanami find it unbelievable that immediately after fighting Dagon they're faced with a new curse that far surpasses him. Jogo tells Dagon to leave the rest to him and that he looks forward to their reunion in the wastelands a hundred years in the future.

Jogo burns Nanami (Anime) "That's one." Within a second, Jogo has his palm placed on Nanami's waist before blasting him with an explosive wave of cursed flames. Before Maki can even yell out Nanami's name in concern, Jogo lights her aflame as well. Jogo then moves to claim his third victim. However, Naobito quickly dashes around Jogo, surprising the curse with his speed. He then rushes towards Jogo by enhancing his speed with his innate technique: Projection Sorcery. However, two small volcanoes suddenly appear on the pillars behind Naobito, firing crossing blasts of fire that he was unable to avoid, heavily burning him. Jogo prepares to finish Naobito off but is abruptly alerted to Sukuna's strong presence, grabbing his attention. He surmises a finger has been released somewhere nearby and goes off to search for it.

Meanwhile, Nanako Hasaba and Mimiko Hasaba find Yuji's unconscious body in the aftermath of his fight with Choso and force feed him one of Sukuna's fingers, hoping to bring out Sukuna. Jogo finds them soon after and demands to know how many fingers they fed him. The girls refuse to tell him, prompting him to blast them with cursed flames, seemingly burning them alive.

While Sukuna's marks still remain on Yuji's face, Jogo decides to make the best of the situation. Remembering Pseudo-Geto's information that if Yuji ate a finger a day for twenty days he probably wouldn't lose control of his body to Sukuna despite devouring all twenty of his fingers, but eating ten fingers at once might temporarily force him to lose control, Jogo takes out a small scroll of ten Sukuna fingers and tells the King of Curses that it's time to wake up.

Jogo feeds Yuji ten fingers (Anime) Jogo feeds Yuji ten of Sukuna's fingers. Sometime later, Jogo finishes force-feeding all ten of Sukuna's fingers in his possession to Yuji. He believes Yuji has consumed fifteen fingers overall, but his train of thought is interrupted by the sound of a cough. Jogo looks over to see Mimiko and Nanako, who miraculously survived Jogo's flames and are currently enveloped in smoke. Jogo surmises that they survived due to one of the two's cursed techniques, but they likely can't use it to survive more times. The cursed spirit raises his hand in an attempt to burn the curse users before realizing that his left hand is gone, with only a bleeding stump left in its place.

Sukuna, having taken control over Yuji's body, heals the wounds on his body and demands Jogo move within one second. Jogo darts away to position himself next to the Hasaba sisters. They're all nervous and sweating from the King of Curses' overwhelming presence. Jogo notices that in comparison to Satoru Gojo, Sukuna's aura is filled with overpowering malice. Nanako believes even one movement will result in instant death. She tells herself to just breathe, but she's unsure if even that is safe.

Sukuna walks up to them and says they're all holding their heads a little too high to be standing before him. The girls prostrate themselves and Jogo gets down on one knee. Sukuna's technique creates a giant gash in the wall behind the trio that cuts off the top of Jogo's head due to him not being low enough. The cursed spirit begins to bleed profusely across his face and Sukuna mocks him for not valuing his life highly, as the boughs that bear most hang lowest.

Sukuna kills Nanako (Anime) Sukuna kills Nanako. Sukuna walks up to the girls and asks them if there is anything he'd like to ask them. Nanako uses the chance to ask Sukuna if he can free Suguru Geto by killing the person inhabiting his body. Nanako and Mimiko loved Suguru and even though Satoru Gojo killed him, they were still best friends. They're fine with allowing Satoru to exist but they want Pseudo-Geto to die and regret what he's done. Nanako claims to know where another finger is and will tell Sukuna in exchange for helping them.

Sukuna tells the girls to raise their heads. Suddenly, Mimiko's head is severed in a very violent fashion. Displeased, Sukuna asks if Nanako thought she could order him around just for a few fingers. Mimiko's blood splatters all over Nanako's face and she desperately calls out to her in anguish. Desperate for revenge, Nanako aims her cellphone camera at Sukuna and attempts to activate her innate technique. Sukuna activates his faster and slices the top half of Nanako's head clean off. He follows up by dismantling her entire body into tiny cubes, slicing her into nothing but a gruesome spray of blood.

Jogo accepts Sukuna's challenge (Anime) Jogo accepts Sukuna's challenge. Sukuna catches Nanako's phone and surmises that the camera is connected to her cursed technique. He guesses it must be related to manipulating whatever is photographed and judges it as a boring technique. Sukuna says Jogo is next and asks what he needs. However, Jogo doesn't claim to need anything. This confuses Sukuna and Jogo clarifies his objective is simply to fully revive him. Jogo implores Sukuna to make a binding vow that will let him take over Yuji's body permanently. Sukuna refuses and reveals he has his own plans, surprising Jogo.

Amused by the cursed spirit's desperation, Sukuna offers a token of his appreciation for the ten fingers. He challenges Jogo to land even one hit on him in a fight. If Jogo can achieve this, Sukuna agrees to work with his group for now and kill every human in Shibuya except for one. Jogo willingly accepts the deal and prepares for a jujutsu battle.

As Jogo falls from the sky in Shibuya, he contemplates something before Sukuna falls after him with a maniacal smile.

Toji as a puppet of carnage (Anime) "Vizualize winning..." In the streets of Shibuya, a stressed Megumi is circled by a séanced Toji. Megumi notes that the man's superior speed despite having no cursed energy, likening him to a stronger version of Maki Zenin. Thanks to Toge Inumaki clearing the street of civilians and transfigured humans, Megumi concentrates on the opponent before him and tries to visualize winning as he prepares to summon Divine Dog: Totality. However, Toji's intimidating presence causes Megumi to jolt back in fear and summon Rabbit Escape instead. As the rabbits appear, both of them notice Sukuna's presence suddenly appearing in Shibuya, much to Megumi's confusion. The torrent of rabbits subsequently surround Megumi and Toji. As Megumi runs through the endless rabbits and makes the hand sign for Toad, Toji instinctively charges into the swarm of rabbits and nearly stabs Megumi with the sharpened Playful Cloud. Megumi narrowly dodges the attack and runs away from Toji as the rabbits separate the two.

Toji effortlessly defeating Rabbit Escape (Anime) Toji destroys Rabbit Escape. Megumi escapes into a warehouse with rabbits in tow but is quickly caught up by Toji. Noting that he does not have enough cursed energy left to use Domain Expansion again, Megumi resorts to close quarters combat with Toji. Even with the help of his rabbits, Megumi is completely outclassed by Toji in hand-to-hand combat, who effortlessly blocks all his strikes while repelling the rabbits' attacks. After throwing Megumi away, the swarm of rabbits charge Toji, who throws the remaining piece of Playful Cloud into the air before stomping the ground hard enough to shatter it and launch all the rabbits into the air. Within the short timeframe before the staff falls back down, Toji rapidly launches the tiny pieces of debris that were kicked up as well into through the rabbits with his fingers, destroying them all instantly. As Toji catches the falling staff, Megumi is terrified.

Meanwhile, the Kusakabe Team aimlessly wanders around Shibuya. By 11:01 P.M., they're in front of Shibuya Stream. Panda struggles to exit a room while imploring his teacher to hurry and find Satoru Gojo since Toge relocated all the civilians to safety and confirmed that Satoru has been sealed. Panda breaks down the door he was stuck on and asks how they plan on heading to Fukutoshin Line Platform. Frustrated, Kusakabe angrily tells Panda that Satoru is not the only person who matters. He then comes up with an excuse to distract Panda. In reality, Kusakabe doesn't want to die fighting the group that managed to seal Gojo, so he wants to keep buying time. Knowing that Panda would go to B5F alone if he knew its location and not wanting to be alone in Shibuya, Kusakabe orders Panda to continue carefully searching their environment while considering acting lost in the station.

Toshihisa Negi and Manami Suda (Anime) Manami and Negi confront Kusakabe and Panda. The two then notice the appearance of two curse users: Manami Suda and Toshihisa Negi, who ask if they are sorcerers affiliated with Jujutsu High and demand their surrender since they don't want to kill other sorcerers. Panda informs Kusakabe that there are three more curse users hiding behind them. Kusakabe then tells the former commanders of Suguru Geto that he doesn't want to be killed but doesn't want to surrender either. He then asks for the curse users' motivations and wants them to take as much time as they want, hoping to buy himself some time.

Meanwhile, Megumi struggles to flee from Toji as he is chased down and repeatedly struck into nearby vehicles. After narrowly dodging a truck kicked towards him by Toji, Megumi escapes up a building. As he runs across the roof, Toji throws several manholes covers at him before launching a truck up towards Megumi. The truck explodes, though Megumi safely avoids it by sliding off the roof. Toji then throws Playful Cloud at him, but Megumi barely dodges it as well. Megumi then summons Nue, which carries him away through the air. Realizing that dragging out the fight will only be disadvantageous for him, Megumi decides he needs to finish the battle as soon as possible since his sole advantage is that Shoko Ieiri is stationed somewhere in Shibuya.

Earlier, at 10:51 P.M., Shoko is seen smoking at a toll gate on the Metropolitan Expressway while being guarded by Principal Yaga and his cursed corpses. She tells him to join the fight but Yaga refuses, claiming that she's extremely crucial to the operation and would be targeted if the enemies discovered her location due to her ability to heal others with Reverse Cursed Technique, a skill that not even Satoru possesses. If not for her, both Ijichi and Ino would have died. Shoko retorts that Yaga's quick thinking played a crucial role as well, since she wouldn't have been able to save the two if she waited for Nanami's signal, thus freeing him up to help with the mission. Yaga then asks why Shoko is smoking, believing she quit a long time ago. Shoko puts out the cigarette and reveals that she's just feeling nostalgic about her student days.

Toji breaks through a window and enters an office workspace. Noticing a nearby chair move, he walks over and pulls the table aside, only to find a few rabbit shikigami. The sprinklers in the room then break, spraying water everywhere and confusing Toji. Nue suddenly appears next to the window and electrocutes the water in the room, causing a massive explosion. Megumi, who was nearby, then jumps down the building, cushioning his fall with a group of rabbits. As Toji jumps down after him, Megumi notes that he should bear the risk of battle rather than his shikigami, but must also limit his injuries. Toji nearly stabs down on Megumi, though the latter is pulled into an alleyway by Toad's tongue, avoiding the attack.

By moving into the alleyway, Megumi is able to limit Toji's options to approach him. As Toji stands at the end of the alleyway, Megumi surmises that he has to predict his opponent's timing because of his speed and understands that any flaw in timing will surely result in death. Toji suddenly blitzes Megumi and is about to stab him, but his foot is suddenly submerged inside Megumi's shadow. This throws off Toji's balance, causing him to non-lethally stab through Megumi, who takes the advantage to grab him and draw a sword from his shadow that he attempts to stab Toji with. However, Toji disappears in an instant, avoiding it with incredible speed despite it being at point-blank range.

Toji kills himself to save Megumi (Anime) "Not Zenin, huh? Good for you." Toji suddenly recalls a past memory when he met and negotiated with Naobito to sell Megumi to the Zenin Family. Toji believed that Megumi would have potential and he could possibly make something of himself in the family. As Toji walks away and tries to convince himself that he doesn't care, he remembers his late wife's request for him to take care of Megumi. Back to the present, Toji suddenly asks Megumi what his name is, who answers "Fushiguro." Proud that his son chose Fushiguro over Zenin, Toji stabs himself in the head, killing his vessel in order to save his son. His body collapses, shocking Megumi.

Megumi runs over and kneels down to examine the body of his deceased opponent. He notices that his face changed back into Ogami's Grandson's and wonders about the identity of the man he fought. He then realizes his injury and decides he needs to go see Shoko Ieiri as soon as possible, but quickly changes his mind to check on Maki and her team first. Suddenly, Megumi is slashed from behind by the curse user Haruta Shigemo, who is excited to be back attacking people who can't defend themselves, admitting he's better suited for that type of combat.

Jogo and Sukuna's fight interrupts Negi (Anime) Negi is interrupted by an explosion behind him. In a flashback, Suguru Geto's commanders had a falling out, as Manami and Negi intended on helping Pseudo-Geto while Nanako and Mimiko wanted to kill him. As they were about to fight over the disagreement, Larue broke up the fight and stated that neither side was wrong. They all agreed to part ways, with Larue reminding them that they are family and the day will come when have a meal together again. Back to the present, Manami states that her group inherited Geto's will and asks if Kusakabe surrenders. Kusakabe is disappointed the story finished quickly, but is happy knowing that he can easily take on the group of curse users, which means he can use them to kill time while staying away from any real danger. Kusakabe activates New Shadow Style: Evening Moon Sword Drawing, which Negi takes that as his answer and raises his hand in response. Their fight is abruptly interrupted by all the lights in Shibuya turning off, followed by an explosion that detonates an entire building behind Negi, surprising all the sorcerers.

As lights flicker throughout Shibuya, Sukuna's maniacal laughter can be heard echoing through the city. Jumping through the air, Sukuna rapidly approaches an airborne Jogo while asking the cursed spirit if he has reached his limits. In response, Jogo prepares a fire attack by concentrating flames between his palms, but Sukuna uses his innate technique to slice Jogo's arms into pieces before appearing behind him and throwing a large rock at him, which crashes through a building. Sukuna watches as Jogo regenerates his arms while flying through the air using his Ember Insects before rapidly shooting fire blasts at the King of Curses. As Sukuna lands on a building unscathed, Jogo unleashes more fire after him, though he flips inside the building to evade.

Sukuna casually strolls through a hallway in the building before dodging to the side as fire quickly fills it. Jumping out of the building, Sukuna is approached by Jogo and the two engage in hand-to-hand combat. Sukuna easily blocks Jogo's strikes before grabbing his arms and severing them into pieces. Jogo then lowers his head and fires a concentrated beam of fire through the volcanic opening on his head. The beam burns through a building in its path but fails to hit Sukuna, who appears behind Jogo and throws him with so much force the cursed spirit ricochets off several structures before landing on the ground. Without giving Jogo a moment to recover, Sukuna smashes his head in with a violent hammer fist. The impact sends Jogo crashing through a few underground parking lots.

Laying on the floor, Jogo remembers Pseudo-Geto telling him that his strength is comparable to Sukuna with eight or nine fingers absorbed. On the surface, several manhole covers are blown into the air as he rises out of the ground on a piece of debris with a massive wave of magma below him. The magma engulfs Sukuna, who keeps it away from himself by slicing the streams of magma with his innate technique. Surfing on the magma, Jogo controls the magma to close in on Sukuna while firing more beams at him, though the King of Curses dodges all of the attacks.

Sukuna vs. Jogo continued (Anime) Jogo fails to crush Sukuna with two buildings. Jumping onto the roof of a nearby building, Sukuna watches as the magma rises, sinking several buildings around him as streams of it pour out of skyscrapers near him. He then jumps away as magma erupts below him and destroys the building he was standing on. Swarms of Ember Insects follow him and bombard him with explosions, though he evades them and even slices apart the remaining ones. Jogo then forms two giant hands out of magma to grab two skyscrapers to smash Sukuna with, though Sukuna slashes through the hands and buildings before disappearing.

As Jogo hurriedly searches for Sukuna, he is suddenly struck by Sukuna and sent flying into a building. Running after him, Sukuna then kicks him up and launches him through the building's roof. Jogo contemplates to himself that he didn't expect the difference in their strength to be this great. Sukuna then smashes his face directly into the top of a tall building before crashing through all its floors, severely injuring the cursed spirit. As Jogo struggles to regenerate his jaw, Sukuna mocks him by saying the bright moonlight shining through the floors makes it easier to see how pathetic he is. Sukuna then grabs and lifts Jogo by his scarf while sarcastically encouraging him to try harder.

Noticing the battle, Kusakabe attempts to flee but is stopped by the curse users hiding behind him. Before he can warn the curse users, flames erupt out of a building nearby. As Kusakabe warns everyone about the fighting special grades by comparing them to elephants tap-dancing among ants, the destroyed building and its flames quickly gather to form a meteor in the sky. As the meteor flies through the sky, its gravitational pull attracts countless debris and cars towards it. It is revealed that the meteor is created by Jogo, who intends to attack Sukuna with it as the latter gleefully slides away on an expressway.

Using New Shadow Style: Batto Sword Drawing, Kusakabe cuts down the curse users in his way and tries to escape with Panda. However, Sukuna appears next to Kusakabe in an instant and declares that all humans in his vicinity aren't allowed to move until he says so, or else he will kill them. All the horrified sorcerers are forced to remain still as the meteor follows Sukuna and draws closer to killing them all. A few moments later, Sukuna finally lets them all run, clapping with a playful smile as the signal. Maximum: Meteor crashes into Shibuya, decimating the area with its impact. A tired Jogo stands atop the meteor and assumes that the attack must have injured Sukuna. However, Sukuna tells Jogo that it would have if it hit, revealing that he is unharmed and sitting behind him.

Sukuna's fire arrow (Anime) Sukuna creates an arrow of fire. Sukuna asks Jogo why he won't use his Domain Expansion. Jogo admits that he knows he would lose in a domain struggle between them and Sukuna believes his lack of confidence stems from losing to Satoru Gojo. Excited, Sukuna stands up and decides to fight Jogo using his specialty. He then commands "■" to open, allowing him to generate and manipulate flames from his hand. Jogo is confused by the new ability, and Sukuna realizes that a cursed spirit wouldn't know about the technique. Sukuna assures Jogo that he won't cheat by revealing his technique and tells him to get ready for a fire-power battle. Standing atop the flaming remains of Maximum: Meteor, Sukuna creates an arrow of flames from his palms and takes aim while Jogo swirls his flames into a small fireball.

Jogo, Hanami, and Dagon at the end (Anime) In his final moments, Jogo apologizes to his allies and promises to reunite on the other side. Jogo enters a fantasy and reunites with his deceased allies Hanami and Dagon, apologizing to them. Hanami reassures him that Mahito is still alive and will continue to grow stronger since death is something humans fear but acts as a mirror for them, with Mahito being that mirror, which is why Jogo made him the leader. Jogo expresses his desire to reunite with them someday after they are reborn as new entities. Sticking to his ideology to the end, Jogo says that the cursed spirits are the true humans. Sukuna abruptly enters the fantasy and asks Jogo if he wanted to become human.

Sukuna tells Jogo to stand proud (Anime) "Stand proud, you're strong." Before Jogo can retort, Sukuna clarifies that he knows Jogo meant he wants curses to take the place of humans, but he believes this is foolish. Sukuna believes that the curses' flock mentality caused them to grow weaker, and Jogo should have burned everything without a second thought to reach heights of Satoru Gojo, but Jogo lacked the hunger to take hold of such desires. But even so, the battle still entertained him. Sukuna admits that compared to everyone he has fought over the last millennia, Jogo isn't bad. He commends Jogo, telling him to stand proud because he's strong. Acknowledged for his strength, Jogo sheds a tear and asks what's going on, though Sukuna claims he doesn't know either. Back in reality, Sukuna looks at Jogo's smoldering corpse as a building collapses behind him. He then questions the identity of the curse user behind him, revealed to be Uraume who has come to greet Sukuna. Sukuna is surprised to see Uraume, recognizing them.

At 11:07 P.M. on Dogenzaka, an unknown creature walks towards Shigemo, who curses an unconscious and bloodied Megumi and demands he wake up.

In a flashback, Yuji Itadori remembers his grandfather asking him to help others. In the present, Sukuna, in Yuji's body, looks over the destroyed remains of Shibuya while standing atop Jogo's Maximum: Meteor.

Megumi and Shigemo in Shibuya (Anime) Shigemo stalks an injured Megumi. Earlier, at 11:05 PM in the Dogenzaka area in front of Shibuya 109, Haruta Shigemo stalks a critically injured Megumi Fushiguro as the latter divulges the mechanics of his Ten Shadows Technique while walking away before eventually collapsing. The curse user thinks nothing of Megumi's explanation and is momentarily distracted by the impact of Maximum: Meteor in the distance. However, Megumi then reveals his plan to summon a shikigami that has never been tamed and force Shigemo to participate in the exorcism ritual with him, his last resort to take the curse user down with himself. Remembering Satoru Gojo informing him why the Gojo Clan and the Zenin Clan do not get along, Megumi surmises that the leader of the Zenin Family hundreds of years ago used the Ten Shadows Technique the same way to kill himself and the leader of the Gojo Family. As the area around Shigemo and Megumi darken and the curse user hurriedly rushes towards Megumi, the student chants "With this treasure, I summon..." Sukuna senses Megumi's cursed energy from afar and orders Uraume to continue their preparation for when he regains his freedom. After Sukuna leaves, Uraume declares that they will always await the King of Curses' return.

Megumi summons Mahoraga (Anime) Megumi summons Mahoraga. As light returns to the area, Divine Dogs and Toads manifest in front of Megumi before disappearing to unveil the shell of a humanoid shikigami wrapped and restrained in metal cables behind him. As Shigemo silently realizes that he was forced to take part in an exorcism ritual, Megumi reveals the shikigami's name: Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga. The cables break apart as smoke bursts out of the shell and it begins to crumble. As four wings sprout out of the shell, Megumi silently apologizes to Yuji before mocking Shigemo by wishing him good luck. He is then struck aside by Mahoraga, crashing him into a nearby building and leaving him in a state of suspended death.

Panicking, Shigemo backs away from the approaching shikigami. As he curses Megumi, Mahoraga raises his hand and crushes Shigemo under it. A brief flashback is then shown, explaining Shigemo's innate technique, Miracles. Miracles functions by erasing his memories of tiny miracles in his daily life and storing them as markings under his eyes. These miracles are then released during critical situations to save Shigemo's life. However, all six miracles he stored were expended during his confrontation with Kento Nanami.

Back to the present, it is revealed that Shigemo was saved by Sukuna at the last moment. Standing beside Megumi's unconscious body, Sukuna surmises that the young sorcerer is in a state of suspended death during the exorcism ritual, and Shigemo's death would have ended the ritual and caused Megumi to permanently die had he not saved him. Using reverse cursed technique, Sukuna heals Megumi and confronts Mahoraga himself.

Sukuna blocks the Sword of Extermination (Anime) Sukuna blocks the Sword of Extermination. Mahoraga extends the Sword of Extermination out of its right arm and slashes down on Sukuna, who blocks it while the shockwave shatters the glass of buildings nearby. The sword then emits positive energy, causing Sukuna to quickly move out of its way and punch Mahoraga in the face. As the shikigami reels from the attack, Sukuna attacks it with Dismantle, slashing deep gashes into its body and the building behind it. Mahoraga and Sukuna then attack each other at the same time, their attacks send both of them crashing into buildings away from each other.

Sukuna walks out of the building he crashed into while drinking soda and carrying a pot of popcorn. Recognizing the Sword of Extermination attached to Mahoraga and its function, Sukuna believes that if he were a cursed spirit, a strike from the sword would have killed him. After tasting the popcorn and finding it terrible, he slashes Mahoraga across the chest again with his cursed technique. The shikigami then grabs Sukuna and jumps, dragging him across a building before throwing him towards another. Mahoraga continues its pursuit as Sukuna backflips up the building, eventually reaching the roof. Mahoraga attempts to slam Sukuna with a hammer fist, but Sukuna dodges and kicks it in the face. When the shikigami grabs Sukuna in response, he slashes apart its arm into several pieces and then cuts off its left foot. The shikigami quickly gathers air in its body before unleashing it as an air burst, sending Sukuna crashing through several buildings.

Sukuna vs. Mahoraga continued (Anime) Sukuna and Mahoraga's battle collapses a building. Safely landing on a building, Sukuna takes out and throws away one of Mahoraga's fingers that ended up in his hoodie. The shikigami quickly approaches him and slams him down with its own severed foot. As the two crash into a building, Mahoraga unleashes a barrage of punches on Sukuna, who blocks every strike while slashing apart the building they are in. As the building collapses, Mahoraga is launched into the air and quickly restrained by Sukuna using a cable, who proceeds to throw it into a parking garage. As Sukuna jumps after the shikigami, Mahoraga grabs the cars around it and throws them at Sukuna, who slashes them all apart before unleashing a more powerful slash that cuts apart Mahoraga's head.

The sound of the wheel behind Mahoraga's head turning is heard as it is then shown to have completely healed its head, making Sukuna wonder what it did. The two continue, with the sounds of their battle reverberating throughout Shibuya. As a terrified Shigemo tries to run away, a car lands in front of him, dissuading him from escaping. Sukuna and Mahoraga's fight cut apart several buildings before they arrive at an evacuation zone with many people nearby. As Mahoraga crashes through the building, Sukuna kills the people around them before placing his hand on the shikigami and slicing it multiple times.

The building they were in subsequently collapses, causing them to fall into an underground parking lot. As Sukuna looks over a bloodied and defeated Mahoraga, he thinks of its strange response to his cursed technique. The shikigami then gets back on its feet and attempts to strike Sukuna with its Sword of Extermination again. However, Sukuna catches the sword with a fanged mouth he created on his neck, which bites and shatters the sword. He then strikes Mahoraga and launches it above ground before sending it crashing into a laundry detergent store. The poisonous gas created by the detergents cause Mahoraga to vomit, and the wheel above its head glows and turns in response.

Malevolent Shrine's power (Anime) "Malevolent Shrine." The battle between Sukuna and Mahoraga rages throughout Shibuya, destroying countless infrastructure and ending the lives of even more people. During the fight, Sukuna infers that Mahoraga's ability allows it to adapt to all phenomenon after observing it being able to react to his slashes and using cursed energy to attack him when it previously used the positive energy in the Sword of Extermination instead. As an enlarged Mahoraga reaches for Sukuna, the King of Curses activates his Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine.

Malevolent Shrine, unlike most domain expansions, does not create a separate space for the innate domain and enclose it with a barrier. Instead, it manifests Sukuna's innate domain into the existing airspace without a barrier, akin to painting directly in the air instead of on a canvas. As a result of the domain expansion allowing an escape route, a binding vow is created that increases the domain's radius up to a maximum radius of nearly 200 meters. Taking Megumi's location into account, Sukuna narrows down the range of his domain expansion to a radius of 140 meters and above ground. An endless series of slashes subsequently reduces all within that range to dust, destroying a significant portion of Shibuya. However, Mahoraga manages to withstand the relentless slashes of Malevolent Shrine and walks toward Sukuna. In response, before Mahoraga can regenerate, Sukuna finishes off the shikigami with the same flaming arrow technique he used to exorcise Jogo, assuming that the shikigami already adapted to his slashing techniques. The immense explosion caused by the flames creates a pillar of fire in the midst of the destroyed city, concluding the ritual and the catastrophic battle.

A dumbfounded Yuji is briefly shown staring at something. Back to the present, Mahoraga's wheel rolls onto the ground before dissolving into liquid shadows. As Sukuna walks past a horrified Shigemo, he orders the curse user to get lost. Overjoyed that he escaped death once again, Shigemo thanks Sukuna and runs into the crater left by Malevolent Shrine, which spells his death as he is then slashed in half by the domain expansion's persisting effects. Noticing that Yuji is regaining control over his body, Sukuna takes Megumi to where Shoko Ieiri and Masamichi Yaga are located before returning to the area in front of Shibuya 109.

Shibuya after Sukuna's rampage (Anime) Yuji vomits upon witnessing the carnage wrought by Sukuna. Sukuna tells Yuji to take a good look at the destruction he caused as Yuji regains control. Once Yuji regains control of his body, he immediately recalls everyone who was killed or put in danger by Sukuna, causing him to vomit before panicking and screaming at himself to die. After a few moments of reeling from the traumatic experience, Yuji enters a state of cold focus, realizing that he has to fight and help people or else he's nothing but a murderer.

Meanwhile, with half of his body burned by Jogo and missing an eye, a heavily injured Kento Nanami walks down a hallway in Shibuya Station.

As he descends the stairs of the Shibuya Station, Yuji recalls the words that shaped his life since enrolling at Jujutsu High, as well as his grandfather's dying wish.

With the left half of his body completely scorched by Jogo's flames, including that entire side of his face, a severely injured Nanami walks down a corridor, imagining himself strolling along a tropical beach. The dazed grade 1 sorcerer walks past a photo booth while traversing slowly down the hallway, not knowing that Mahito is inside it.

After descending the stairs and coming face to face with a swarm of transfigured humans, Nanami begins to daydream about Malaysia. He wishes he could have built a house on a secluded beach and read the countless books he never got around to finishing. Nanami then remembers that he has to go save Megumi, and he wonders about the whereabouts and conditions of Maki and Naobito before admitting to himself that he is tired.

Nanami's last stand (Anime) Nanami's last stand. Despite thinking that he has done enough, Nanami continues to fight, fiercely slicing through the transfigured humans with his blunt sword all the while imagining himself enjoying his time at the beach. The commotion of his battle draws the attention of Yuji, who runs down the hallway towards the source of the noise. Despite being battered by the transfigured humans, Nanami persists and eventually cuts down the entire horde by himself. He then senses a familiar hand touching his back and realizes that it is Mahito. The cursed spirit tells Nanami that he was present the whole time and asks if the sorcerer has any last words. Meanwhile, Yuji arrives at the floor where the two are and watches them from behind.

Kento Nanami's death (Anime) Mahito kills Nanami. Instead of replying, Nanami looks down and speaks with Yu Haibara. He wonders why he returned to being a sorcerer with just a vague reason for it being worthwhile and asks Haibara what he was trying to do. An illusion of Haibara appears in front of Nanami. Nanami tells Haibara that he doesn't want to end up cursing Yuji. Mahito notices Yuji and is amused to see him as the young sorcerer calls out to Nanami and stumbles towards them. Haibara then points behind Nanami, at Yuji. In his last moments, Nanami looks and smiles at his protégé and entrusts him with the task of exorcising Mahito. Mahito promptly kills Nanami by exploding the top half of his body into bloody pieces, shocking Yuji. Enraged in the next moment, Yuji screams at Mahito and rushes at him to fight. Further entertained, Mahito tells his adversary he can hear just fine without the yelling, preparing for their fated rematch.

Mahito calmly flicks a small transfigured human at Yuji and transforms it into a wall that blocks his path. Yuji stops himself from punching the wall as it begs for help. Spikes then protrude from the wall to stab Yuji, though he endures them before breaking them apart. Using Soul Multiplicity, Mahito follows up with Body Repel, unleashing a long transfigured monster that breaks through the wall and attempts to bite Yuji with its giant mouth.

Body Repel (Anime) Yuji is pushed back by Body Repel. Yuji successfully grips its teeth and is pushed back through the hall. Mahito suddenly appears from inside the monster's mouth and lands a punch that smashes Yuji's face, launching Yuji away. Tumbling on the ground for a while, Yuji eventually recovers and lands on a pillar, with the attack leaving a bloody gash on his face. As the transfigured monster crashes through the hallway, Yuji dodges to the side. Mahito bursts out from the monster's body on the same side and attempts to use the monster's momentum to strike Yuji with his arm, though Yuji ducks under him just in time. The monster eventually stops after crashing into a wall.

Revealing that he transfigured his hand to include a bladed weapon above his knuckles earlier, Mahito claims he could have split Yuji's skull had he used a bit more force. An infuriated Yuji asks how Mahito can toy with so many people's lives and the cursed spirit just laughs at him. Mahito sarcastically promises to show more remorse whenever he kills going forward. Creating Junpei Yoshino's head with one hand and stabbing through it with the other, Mahito claims that Yuji and him are the same, and until the student accepts that fact, he will never win. Despite being angered, Yuji remembers Nanami's words and remains calm. As Mahito steps back on the ground, Yuji takes a fighting stance as cursed energy flows into his hands, determined to prove that he is a jujutsu sorcerer.

Yuji's Manji Kick (Anime) Mahito is kicked by Yuji. Mahito transfigures the monster to sprout countless hands that push on the wall on the opposite side, thus pushing itself towards Yuji and him. The sorcerer and the curse approach each other as the monster closes in on them, eventually squeezing them next to the wall and forcing them to shuffle towards each other in the dark. Mahito takes the initiative and punches at Yuji, only for the latter to suddenly disappear from his sight. He is then kicked in the face by Yuji, and as he staggers from the attack, Yuji kicks him again with both of his feet, pushing him away.

Noticing the limited space he has, Yuji kicks the monster, sending ripples through its flesh and slightly pushing it back, giving him more room to move. As Yuji punches the monster, Mahito recovers from the attack and transfigures the monster to create buzzsaws along its flesh that rush towards Yuji, who narrowly avoids them before hitting the monster once more with a cursed energy-infused punch. Transforming his arms into spiked vines, Mahito has several of them roll along the wall towards Yuji, who squeezes past them as he runs at the curse. Creating hands from the monster to use as footholds, Mahito jumps into the air and slams down on Yuji with his right arm, transformed into a spiked club. Yuji dodges the attack by jumping up and prepares to stomp Mahito's face. A hand created from the monster catches his foot before more hands protrude out of it to punch him. Enduring the punches, Yuji kicks Mahito's head into the ground with his other foot before severing the hand grabbing his foot with his hand coated in cursed energy. Falling down, Yuji is crushed against the wall by the monster as Mahito watches with joy from the ground. The two break through the monster's body moments later. As they walk back into the hallway, Mahito announces that it is time for round two.

At 11:19 P.M., at the Dogenzaka Ticket Gate in the Shibuya Station, Yuji and Mahito continue their battle. Mahito transforms his left arm into the barrel of a gun and shoots at Yuji, using transfigured humans as bullets. The humans miss Yuji and bounce off the walls behind Yuji, with one of them hitting the button to call the elevator. Mahito follows up by enlarging and stretching his foot to stomp Yuji, though the student evades them by running away. As the elevator arrives on the floor, Mahito throws a ticket gate in front of Yuji, which he avoids and throws back, only for the curse to slice it apart with his arms transformed into serrated blades, along with the rest of the hallway.

Yuji enters the elevator, and Mahito watches as the elevator doors close. As he descends to B3F, Yuji begins to gather cursed energy in his fist, anticipating an attack from above. His prediction was correct as a giant fist punches through the elevator's ceiling and threatens to crush Yuji, who counters it with his own punch, repelling it back up. The force from the exchange snaps the elevator's cables, causing it to plummet. As it falls, Mahito leaps down and slices through it before landing inside the compartment. Yuji avoids the attack and tries to punch him, but he misses as Mahito twists his head around. The cursed spirit then throws a punch at Yuji while getting close to Yuji. Making a kissing motion, Mahito then transforms his lips into a sharp blade and tries but fails to stab through Yuji's head. The sorcerer retaliates with strikes to Mahito's torso, pushing him back. As he throws another punch, Mahito morphs his body to make him miss before transforming his arms into blades again to slash Yuji.

Yuji avoids the attack by jumping out of the elevator and hanging on to the dangling cables. Using Body Repel once more, Mahito launches a massive transfigured monster that fills up the entire elevator shaft back up at Yuji. Yuji avoids the attack by leaving the elevator shaft through the opened elevator door above, returning to the original floor their fight started on. As the elevator rings to indicate that the elevator arrived, Mahito appears out of a mouth created on the monster and fires a transfigured human at Yuji. Yuji punches it back, but the delayed transfiguration causes it to transform into four purple tendrils that shoot at Yuji, forcing him to jump downstairs. As he lands on the stairs below, a massive hand bursts through the ceiling and seemingly crushes him, only for him to punch and destroy it.

Mahito punches Yuji from inside a civilian (Anime) Mahito attacks from inside an innocent civilian to sucker punch Yuji. As the remaining parts of the hand retreat upstairs and merges back with Mahito, the curse notes that Yuji's strength is strong enough to kill him, so he decides to stick to using transfigured humans. Yuji notices that Mahito has unlocked a few new tricks since the last time they came to blows as well. Watching Mahito out of his sight, Yuji gives chase, only to spot two civilians upon turning the corner. Believing that Mahito ran upstairs, Yuji asks the two non-sorcerers to hide. Suddenly, Mahito's arm appears from inside one of their mouths and punches Yuji. The special grade cursed spirit climbs out of the man as if he was shedding his skin and transforms the other civilian into a sword, angering Yuji. Mahito tells his adversary to work on his imagination, hoping to crush his spirit by killing innocents. In order to achieve that end, Mahito thinks that he has one more trick to play as well.

At 9:30 P.M., nearly two hours ago on Shibuya Station B4F, Dagon consumed numerous civilians using his cursed technique. Mahito, Choso, and Jogo then began their hunt for Yuji. In order to find Yuji first, Mahito split into two of himself and blocked off his competition. A few minutes earlier at 11:16 P.M., Mahito's other self encounters Nobara Kugisaki in the Dogenzaka Alley. She recognizes him from past reports from Yuji. Mahito takes it as a compliment that he's famous, but Nobara taunts him by claiming he's only known for being a coward and fleeing.

Nobara kicks Mahito (Anime) Nobara fights the other Mahito. Amused, Mahito decides to kill her, and Nobara fights because she doesn't have anything to show for the incident so far. She tries to remember what it was like to unleash Black Flash, attempting to tap into the core of cursed energy. In a short exchange, Nobara manages to get the better of Mahito using clever explosions of her nails and the environment around them. He admits that she isn't bad but doesn't believe her attacks can actually harm him. The cursed spirit understands that Nobara is an ally of Yuji and plans to bring her corpse to him and destroy his soul.

Nobara leaving Shoto Bunkamura Street. At 11:14 PM, after Nanami left Nobara and Akari behind, the first-year student refused to leave with the paramedic's team. Akari explained that Nobara wasn't informed about Shoko Ieiri's whereabouts in Shibuya so that she wouldn't do something reckless. However, Nobara ignored Nanami's orders and Akari's pleas and went off alone because she refused to escape while everyone else was fighting.

In the present, inside Shibuya Station, Mahito skewers three innocent civilians and uses them to attack Yuji as he runs up the stairs. Yuji checks on the condition of one of the injured people, only for them to transfigure and explode. The blood gets in Yuji's eyes, leaving him vulnerable to an attack from behind as Mahito transforms his arm into a spiked club and prepares to finish him.

Nobara clashing with Mahito (Anime) Nobara appears to fight a losing battle. Meanwhile, in Dogenzaka Alley, Mahito is still clashing with Nobara. She avoids Mahito's hands to the best of her abilities, not knowing that he is a double that can't transfigure other souls. Nobara tries to trade blows, but her attacks are ineffective, and she is eventually injured after Mahito slashes her arm. The special grade curse points this out to his opponent but Nobara insists she has to try anyway, boring the cursed spirit.

Mahito casually avoids Nobara's projectile nails as she climbs up the side of the alley onto a higher platform. She drops a nail imbued with cursed energy at Mahito's feet and detonates it with Hairpin amidst several other nails before coming back down, confusing Mahito. While he's focused on Nobara, she activates Hairpin again and her cursed energy propels the nails around Mahito's feet to pierce through Mahito's lower body, immobilizing him. Mahito realizes the first explosion was simply to point the nails upright, putting them in the perfect position.

Mahito's soul hit with Resonance (Anime) Nobara uses Mahito's double to hit his soul with Resonance. Nobara mounts Mahito while he's injured and sticks a nail into his head. She then hammers it and activates Resonance. By using Mahito's double as the effigy, Nobara can use her cursed technique to attack his soul, causing nails to suddenly burst out of the original Mahito's chest and stopping him from finishing off Yuji, with the latter realizing that it was Nobara's doing. At the same time, Resonance also relays damage incurred by the original soul back to the double, causing Mahito's clone to spit out large amounts of blood while kneeling on the ground.

Nobara figures out Mahito is a double (Anime) Nobara figures out her opponent is just a double. Mahito's double is shocked and realizes that Yuji isn't his only natural enemy. At the same time, Nobara mentions that she noticed her cursed energy detonate somewhere else nearby. Additionally, she notes that Mahito's cursed energy is not as strong as it should be, and he didn't touch her when he had the chance. She concludes that this Mahito is simply a double that can't properly use his innate technique. Amused, Mahito licks the blood dripping from his face and admits his adversary is correct.

Nobara's help reassures Yuji that he's not alone (Anime) "Thank you for showing me that I'm not alone." Capitalizing on Nobara's attack, Yuji pummels Mahito with rapid-fire cursed energy-infused punches. With Resonance's effect still lingering, Mahito can't move well or fight back. While Yuji bashes Mahito into a pillar with a relentless barrage of strikes, he solemnly thanks Nobara for showing him that he is not alone in his fight as he keeps the pressure on and prepares to exorcise Mahito.

Back in the Dogenzaka Alley, Nobara thinks that Mahito won't be launching any more continuous attacks now that he knows Resonance works on him and announces that their real duel has just begun. Instead of remaining fighting, the double decides to run away instead and heads directly into a subway entrance. Nobara chases, having a bad feeling about letting Mahito run loose and decides to exorcise him on her way to B5F.

Mahito and his clone (Anime) Mahito and his double decide its time to switch opponents. As Yuji lands a solid punch to Mahito's main body, the cursed spirit splits into several small, spherical versions of himself that run all across the room. As Yuji attempts to find the one containing Mahito's soul, he notices that one of them has more cursed energy than the rest. Believing that is Mahito's main body, Yuji crushes it against a wall. However, this was a feint, and the other doubles reform Mahito's body as he runs away. Yuji then gives chase while Nobara descends the stairs after the other Mahito.

Both Mahitos enter the same corridor with the two jujutsu high students chasing them from opposite sides. Yuji initially believes Mahito is trying to heal by reuniting with his double until he sees Nobara. He immediately yells for her to run away, realizing the danger she's in. However, the warning comes too late as the original Mahito directly touches her face. Yuji easily kills the double with a single shot and runs over to check on Nobara. Realizing the end is near, Nobara touches her face and recalls her life in 2009.

Nobara asking to switch bags with Fumi (Anime) Nobara asks to switch bags with Fumi. Nobara remembers herself playing Smash Bros. with Fumi's father as Fumi watched them. Back then, she believed everyone in her hometown was weird and she was the only sane person there. Fumi, a childhood friend of Nobara's moved into her small village on the countryside about the same time that she started grade school. Everyone in her class had either a red or black backpack, making her light blue one stand out. As a result, Fumi was bullied by her classmates, who put her backpack on top of the broom closet. Too short to reach for her backpack, Fumi stands on top of a chair to pull on it. As a result, the backpack almost falls on her, only for a young Nobara to catch it before asking for a trade, beginning their friendship.

Nobara then beats up the boys who bullied Fumi before being reprimanded by an old man. After school, she returns Fumi's backpack and kicks her own away out of annoyance. Since that day, Nobara always stopped by Fumi's house to play Smash Bros. with her dad. Nobara didn't like the people in the village, as she believed that the village was so small that it was harder to be a stranger than it was to be a friend. At first, Fumi thought that was a good thing, only to realize what Nobara meant several years later when she was given red bean rice to celebrate her womanhood by a neighbor. This made her uncomfortable and helped her understand why Nobara didn't like it in the small town.

Nobara crying after Saori moved away (Anime) All Fumi can remember from Saori moving away is Nobara crying. One day while they were still kids, Nobara took Fumi to her "secret base". The "secret base" was actually the house of a girl named Saori. Saori was older than Fumi and moved into the village after her. She was always home and would welcome Nobara and Fumi every time they would randomly visit by providing them with black tea and sweets. Fumi believed Nobara changed after meeting Saori, becoming more refined. However, after several incidents of villagers vandalizing her home, Saori moved out of the village. All Fumi remembers about saying goodbye to Saori was Nobara's messy crying face. It was the first time she saw Nobara cry and so she wasn't able to remember much else of the event.

Nobara saying goodbye to Fumi (Anime) Nobara promising to see Fumi again before departing for Tokyo Jujutsu High. In June of 2018, Nobara was approved to transfer to a school in Tokyo. Nobara's grandmother resisted the decision, causing her to enroll late. Nobara and Fumi met to say their goodbyes as the former prepared to board a train out of town. Excited to escape the village, Nobara made it a point that she would never return. Fumi was disappointed that Nobara didn't shed tears for her as she did for Saori, especially since they had not even spoken about Saori since the day she left. However, as she boarded the train, Nobara promised to eventually reunite with her and Saori together. Nobara holds back her tears as the door closes and the train begins to move. At the same time, Fumi cries and quietly agrees with her as she watches the train depart.

In the present day, Saori is working in an office during the late hours of the night. Her co-worker asks if she would like to take a break, which she refuses since she has to finish her work before the next day, only for her colleague to reveal that it was already the next day. As Saori notices that she has a pimple, her co-worker comments on something dangerous happening in Shibuya and wonders if it is a terrorist attack. Saori then asks her senior if she ever thought about getting married, as she is unsatisfied by the future she found herself in. She then reminisces about her time in the countryside and thinks that if Nobara and Fumi saw her today, they would be disappointed.

Nobara hit in the face with idle Transfiguration (Anime) "I've had a pretty good life." Meanwhile, Nobara holds her face and imagines herself surrounded by chairs while recalling her belief that everyone in the village was crazy. She realizes that not everyone was crazy, but the crazy ones were particularly loud and thus made her believe that everyone but herself would trample on other people's lives. That was until she attended Tokyo Jujutsu High and learned that that was not necessarily true. As she pictures her friends, Nobara turns around and sees Fumi sitting in a chair. Imagining a younger Fumi and herself sitting in the chairs, Nobara apologizes to Fumi for being unable to meet her again in the future as the chair her younger self was sitting on falls over.

Nobara looks at Yuji's concerned face and asks him to relay her final words to everyone, telling him that she had a pretty good life. Just then, the left side of her face swells up and bursts from the effects of Idle Transfiguration. Yuji watches in horror as Nobara's left eye violently flies out of her head and her blood splatters on his face before collapsing.

As Nobara's blood splatters on Yuji's face, he remembers the time when the three first-year students were lounging at a table enjoying their cups of coffee before she knocked over her drink onto a shirt belonging to Gojo. Nobara attempted to pass off the blame on Ijichi for leaving their sensei's freshly dry-cleaned shirt in their care, but Megumi and Yuji were unconvinced. The three of them work together to try and dab away the stains.

Despite their efforts, much of the shirt remained stained. Nobara suggested that they buy a replacement for the shirt, but Megumi discovered that it costs 250,000 yen after checking the label, dumbfounding the other two first-years. Nobara then asked the boys to chip in 80,000 each while she would add the 90,000. Just then, Gojo arrived to retrieve his shirt, only to notice a bulge in an annoyed Megumi's jacket. Nobara and Yuji tried to hold back their laughter but were ultimately unable to and reveal to Gojo that they stuffed his shirt inside Megumi's uniform.

Mahito uses Black Flash (Anime) Mahito hits Yuji with Black Flash. Currently, Nobara lays on the ground before Yuji, missing her left eye and having half of her face bloodied. Remembering his loss to Choso, Sukuna's rampage, and Nanami's death, Yuji begins to hyperventilate as his spirit breaks, barely mustering up the ability to call Nobara's name. Mahito, satisfied with Yuji's reaction and commending his own talent as a curse, rushes towards the sorcerer and strikes him with a cursed energy-reinforced punch, successfully unleashing Black Flash.

Not letting up, the special grade curse relentlessly beats Yuji while exposing him for his weak determination. Mahito claims that he and Yuji are not so different, because he kills people without hesitation just as Yuji saves people without a second thought. He outlines the nature of their fight as a clash of truths between the instincts of a curse and the dignity from human reasoning, a conflict which will determine which of the two races remains.

After thoroughly beating Yuji down both mentally and physically, Mahito asks the student if he has ever counted how many curses he's exorcised. Treating the student's silence as admission, Mahito gleefully says that he never cared about how many people he's killed either. As he morphs his arm into a praying mantis-like claw and prepares to kill Yuji, Mahito claims that he'll surely forget about Yuji eventually. However, there is a clapping noise and Yuji disappears from Mahito's view.

Reciting part of the opening line from The Tale of the Heike, Aoi Todo, having used Boogie Woogie to save Yuji, arrives at the scene as he declares that he and Yuji are the exception to the inevitable decline of the prosperous. As it turns out, Aoi Todo and Arata Nitta arrived at the Fukutoshin Line Platform where Satoru Gojo was sealed at 11:09 PM. There, they ran into a crowd of non-sorcerers still left in a trance from being exposed to Unlimited Void. Todo arrived at the spot where Prison Realm dented the ground upon initially processing Satoru and confirmed that the cursed object had been moved. Todo decided to change their goal from retrieving Satoru to rescuing as many of their fellow sorcerers as possible. Feeling that his "brother" was nearby, Todo told Arata they needed to hurry, confusing the latter as he thought Todo was an only child.

Aoi Todo encourages Yuji to keep fighting (Anime) "Wake up, brother! Our battle has just begun!" In the present, Mahito recognizes the scar on Todo's face and his cursed technique from Hanami. Meanwhile, Arata arrives after treating Nobara, though he informs Todo that she's probably already dead and asks his upperclassman not to blame him for it later. Aoi then asks him to help Yuji next before telling his nearly defeated friend that he must wake up, as their battle is just beginning.

Opening his eyes, Yuji trembles on the ground as he explains that he no longer has the will to fight, having been traumatized by witnessing Nobara and Nanami's demise at the hands of Mahito. Furthermore, Sukuna's slaughter at Shibuya has made him feel as if he failed at his mission to help others. Crying and writhing on the ground, Yuji expresses that he can't forgive himself.

Overjoyed by Yuji's suffering, Mahito rushes at Yuji with his arm shaped into a jagged blade. Todo claps his hands and activates Boogie Woogie to switch Mahito with Arata behind him. Mahito attempts to turn around and attack Todo, but the third-year student switches the curse's position with Yuji's before delivering a powerful kick to Mahito's face that sends him flying towards Arata. Todo quickly swaps Arata and Mahito again, preventing a collision as the special grade tumbles away on the ground.

Aoi Todo asks Yuji what he's been entrusted with (Anime) "What have you been entrusted with?" Impressed, Mahito laughs and admits that Todo's technique is extremely disorienting even though he knows how it works. At the same time, Todo tells Yuji not to belittle himself and reminds him that he is a jujutsu sorcerer, the same as Todo, Nananmi, and Nobara. Todo expresses that as long as there are sorcerers who are alive, the ones who have passed on are never truly defeated, and trying to look for meaning or reason for their deaths would only disrespect them. As he throws away his jacket, Todo asks Yuji to remember what he was entrusted with by those who died. While he doesn't need to answer right now, he must keep fighting until he does, for that is the punishment he has to bear for being alive. Todo then walks away to fight Mahito.

Arata quickly treats Yuji's injuries by applying his cursed technique. He explains to Yuji that his cursed technique can only stop existing injuries from worsening and gradually lessen the pain, but not for new wounds. He then informs Yuji that he has already treated Nobara the same way, though he admits that she doesn't have a pulse and isn't breathing but encourages Yuji by adding that there isn't a zero percent chance of survival. After trying to instill some hope in Yuji, Arata takes Nobara and retreats out of the station.

Mahito attacks Todo and tries to split himself in a variety of ways to outmaneuver the sorcerer. However, Todo's technique allows him to effectively avoid all of Mahito's attempts at touching him, all the while keeping their battle away from Yuji. Having left a small transfigured human behind Todo, Mahito then transforms it into a large spike, but the third year avoids the attack. Mahito is disappointed that the sneak attack didn't provoke Todo into activating his technique, as he been hoping to unleash Black Flash again to better understand the true essence of his soul.

Yuji and Aoi Todo ready to fight Mahito (Anime) Yuji regains his resolve to battle. Anticipating a position swap with Todo, Mahito is thrown off guard when Todo instead swaps with Yuji, who charges his fist with cursed energy before striking the curse's arm with Black Flash. As Mahito is knocked away from the attack, Yuji remembers Nanami's last words and resolves to suffer in his place. An amused Mahito regenerates his arm, while Todo welcomes Yuji back into the battle as the two stand ready to exorcise the curse.

Meanwhile on a train to Shibuya, one of Mechamaru's communication devices informs Kasumi that the Shibuya Incident will end soon, hoping to dissuade her from heading to the special ward. Kasumi asks him why he only had Todo and Arata go to Shibuya, to which Kokichi responds that the two men have a high chance of surviving the incident.

A disappointed Kasumi asks if Kokichi did this because she was useless, which he denies. Kokichi reveals that he purposefully arranged it so that everyone else from Kyoto Jujutsu High would have a mission in the south of Kyoto on October 31. When Kasumi asks him if he didn't trust them due to their weakness, Kokichi argues that he is the weak one for not being able to follow through with his mistake. Kokichi then confesses that there was someone he loved who he wished to protect no matter what happened to the world, even if she hoped for someone else to protect her instead.

Kokichi's last message to Kasumi (Anime) Kokichi's farewell to Kasumi. As Kasumi begins to cry, Kokichi tells her that he is out of time and bids her farewell. Kasumi begs him not to leave, when suddenly an imagination of Kokichi appears in the reflection of the window, sitting next to her. The imaginary Kokichi tells Kasumi his final wish: for her to find her own happiness, before disappearing. With Mechmaru gone forever, Kasumi breaks down and cries profusely. In a different car on the train, Mai asks Utahime about Mechamaru's betrayal, though the latter says that it doesn't matter anymore now that Kokichi is dead. Noritoshi is disappointed that Mechamaru underestimated them, while Momo swears to kill the people responsible for killing Kokichi and making Kasumi cry.

Meanwhile, in Shibuya Station, the battle between Mahito and the jujutsu sorcerers rages on, eventually taking them to a lower level as their brawl destroys the floor. Mahito estimates that Todo's soul is at full strength, so a single touch with Idle Transfiguration may not kill him, whereas Yuji's is at about 10% of its strength, and his own is around 40% due to having his clone destroyed and being pummelled by Yuji earlier. Deciding to take care of Todo's troublesome technique first, Mahito uses Body Repel to create a train-like transfigured human that chases the two sorcerers through the station's tracks and eventually separates them. Mahito takes advantage of this to personally pursue Todo, relentlessly attacking him with swords created from transfigured humans. Todo manages to fend off all of the curse's assaults and finally kicked him into an elevator that brings him to the upper floor.

Yuji, Aoi and Mahito bring out 120% of their potential (Anime) All three fighters bringing out 120% of their potential. The two sorcerers then regroup and rush upstairs to continue their fight. As the special grade curse appears, Todo tells Yuji to throw a rock imbued with cursed energy at Mahito. Resolving to not be left behind by his "brother" and Mahito, Todo swaps positions with the stone and uses its momentum to deliver a Black Flash-enhanced high kick to Mahito, all the while imagining Nobuko Takada's voice. The force behind the kick launches Mahito far away, though it fails to do any damage since it did not hurt his soul. However, now all three fighters have reached 120% of their potential as a result of using Black Flash.

Mahito vomits up several shrunken transfigured humans and combines them using Soul Multiplicity before activating Body Repel, launching multiple transfigured snake-like creatures at his opponents that bombard them with hits and prevent the use of Boogie Woogie. Yuji and Todo withstand the attacks, but Body Repel's damage to the ceiling behind them causes them to break through the underground of Shibuya into the streets above. With a deranged smile, Mahito gleefully shouts at Yuji to try harder, as it is their last chance to curse each other.

As transfigured humans burst out of the ground below Shibuya and fill the streets, Yuji and Todo return to the surface. Mahito descends before them and shouts at Yuji to try harder, as it is their last chance to curse one another. Todo asks if the curse has forgotten about him before clapping his hands, swapping Yuji and Mahito's positions with his Boogie Woogie. Grabbing Mahito, Todo holds him in place as Yuji jumps over to kick his head. In response, the cursed spirit rapidly twists and rips off his own head to avoid the attack. In place of his head, a new head that resembles a snail's with a smile grows out.

Polymorphic Soul Isomer (Anime) Mahito creates a Polymorphic Soul Isomer. While Mahito's original body transforms its arms into whips to attack the sorcerers, his severed head runs away and regrows into a separate body. This new Mahito then activates Soul Multiplicity, combining the souls with weak rejection to create a single powerful transfigured human known as Polymorphic Soul Isomer, which then charges at the battling sorcerers. Noticing the new transfigured human, Todo swaps positions with it, causing it to rush back towards him.

Todo speculates that Mahito split his power 8 to 2 amongst the snail-head body and his main body, which can use Idle Transfiguration. He then swaps the positions of Mahito's bodies so Yuji can take on the weakened main body while he deals with the Polymorphic Soul Isomer. As he dodges the transfigured human's punch, Todo assumes that its strength is equivalent to a grade 3 to grade 2 cursed spirit and believes he can easily take it down. However, he is surprised by an unusually powerful backhanded punch from the transfigured human, which proceeds to launch him through a nearby building with a second blow.

Two polymorphic soul isomers (Anime) Two Polymorphic Soul Isomer appear to fight Todo. Crashes through a shopping mall before landing on a road, Todo looks up and notices the pursuing transfigured human. After putting some distance between them, the grade 1 sorcerer throws a coat hanger infused with cursed energy at the transfigured human before swapping places with it, catching it off-guard. With a single punch to the head, the Polymorphic Soul Isomer is killed, much to Todo's surprise. He surmises that the transfigured human's explosive power is due to the multiple souls expended to create it, and as a trade-off it has low durability. Two more Polymorphic Soul Isomers then appear to confront him, causing Todo to kiss his locket and ask for their forgiveness before engaging in battle with them.

Now free of Boogie Woogie, Mahito merges his bodies and decides to pile on the attacks against Yuji, unleashing more Body Repels. Yuji evades the attacks and dropkicks Mahito through the air, though the curse counters by grabbing his leg and throwing him away. As Yuji tumbles into an open area caused by Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine, Mahito gives chase, only to find Todo has already returned to Yuji's side, who taunts Mahito for trying so hard to remove him from the battle.

Mahito is surprised that even two Polymorphic Soul Isomers weren't enough to stall or defeat Todo. He hopes to get rid of the top-knot gorilla by transfiguring him, but finds it too difficult to touch him. Mahito then considers his second option: using his domain expansion. However, doing so will definitely lead to him being killed by Sukuna if Yuji is included in the domain. Excluding Yuji from the domain using barrier techniques is too complex for Mahito, and doing so would also be ineffective since he used this method before during his first usage of domain expansion at Satozakura High School.

Mahito's domain expansion of 0.2 seconds ends (Anime) An all-or-nothing domain expansion of 0.2 seconds! Deciding to take a gamble, Mahito takes inspiration from his encounter with Satoru Gojo and activates his Self-Embodiment of Perfection for 0.2 seconds, shocking Yuji and Todo with his seemingly suicidal action. As the domain forms, Todo quickly activates Simple Domain, which he learned from Yuki Tsukumo, to protect himself. Yuji is even faster, having already begun sprinting at Mahito in hopes of exorcising him before he can activate his cursed technique. Unfortunately, Mahito was the fastest and activated his cursed technique earlier than Yuji. Having awakened through his usage of Black Flash, he shortened the two-step process of realizing his innate domain and activating his cursed technique into one.

Entering Sukuna's innate domain as a result of touching his soul, Mahito taunts the King of Curses, arrogantly claiming he will kill Yuji before he can switch with the boy, all the while the latter silently looks at him with a smile. As Self-Embodiment of Perfection ends, Todo's left hand begins to transfigure. Todo quickly severs his hand, which explodes into a rain of blood and metal shards that cut him, one of which almost cuts apart the thread holding his locket. This distracts Yuji, who Mahito punches aside before quickly closing in on Todo while mocking him.

Yuji hits Mahito in the face with Black Flash (Anime) Aoi Todo uses Mahito's hand to activate Boogie Woogie one last time. With his innate technique experiencing burnout as a result of activating domain expansion, Mahito chooses to hit Todo with a strong punch infused with cursed energy to his stomach, which is further enhanced by Black Flash. The impact pushes the grade 1 sorcerer away, though it is revealed that he survived the heavy blow by concentrating all his cursed energy to his abdomen to protect it. Nonetheless, Todo suffers heavy damage and spits out blood. With his Idle Transfiguration recovered as a result of the Black Flash, Mahito charges at Todo, intent on killing him once and for all.

Just before Mahito can get near Todo, the string holding the latter's locket snaps, causing it to fall to the ground and knock it open, revealing its contents which are photos of Yuji and Nobuko Takada. This briefly distracts Mahito, and after being motivated by an imagination of him and Takada-chan beating up the cursed spirit, Todo uses Mahito's hand to clap and activate Boogie Woogie, switching places with Yuji who immediately strikes Mahito in the face with another Black Flash.

Mahito's evolution (Anime) Mahito discovers the true essence of his soul. Collapsing to the ground, Todo looks at his heavily damaged right hand as a result of touching Mahito before shifting his focus to Yuji. As he watches Yuji sprint towards Mahito, Todo falls unconscious. Prepared to finish the fight alone, Yuji looks back at Todo and thanks him. Meanwhile, despite being heavily injured, an overjoyed Mahito discovers the true essence of his soul after experiencing his second Black Flash. Using Idle Transfiguration on himself, Mahito morphs his body and evolves into his final form, which he dubbed Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing. Feeling reborn in his new form, Mahito asks Yuji to wish him a happy birthday.

As Yuji wonders about the difference between Mahito's current transformation and his past ones, the cursed spirit reveals that unleashing Black Flash allowed him to finally understand his true unbridled soul. Yuji mocks Mahito, and an amused Mahito declares his intentions of killing Yuji to complete his rebirth. The two fighters then charge at each other and reignite their battle.

Yuji makes the first move, attempting to kick Mahito's head. However, his leg is caught by the black hairs protruding from Mahito's head, who follows up with a tail pierce. Using his leg strength, Yuji rips apart the hairs and stomps on the tail, concluding their first exchange. Both fighters continue their brawl, and Yuji quickly realizes that Mahito's body has gained a new level of toughness that is much harder than Choso's hardened blood. Mahito then punches Yuji, who blocks it with both of his arms, leaving him vulnerable to a slash from Mahito's spike-like elbow blades. After suffering a slash to his left arm, Yuji quickly jumps away and realizes that the cursed spirit has transcended beyond his original form.

Mahito slams Yuji through the street (Anime) Mahito dominates Yuji in close-quarters combat. As they continue to trade blows, Yuji's superhuman punches prove to be useless against Mahito's new body, all the while the special grade injures him with his elbow blades. Mahito then grabs the overwhelmed Yuji by the face and slams him into the ground, creating a giant crater. As burst pipes begin to fill the bottom of the crater with water, Yuji stands back up and realizes the only way to defeat Mahito is with a Black Flash punch infused with maximum cursed energy.

Yuji's left leg suddenly begins to shake from exhaustion, and Mahito attempts to take advantage of this. However, the damage he received from the Black Flash after using domain expansion stops him in his tracks as his elbow blade shatters and he coughs up blood. Yuji hammers his leg to stop its shivering, prompting Mahito to comment that they are both still full of energy.

Mahito hit with the second impact from Divergent Fist (Anime) Divergent Fist's delayed impact interrupts Mahito. Mahito stomps his foot, kicking up a large wave of water that obscures Yuji's vision and inhibits his movements. Yuji begins charging cursed energy in his right fist, which breaks apart the water wave. Through the water, Mahito rushes his opponent and slashes at him with his blade, though Yuji dodges it and prepares to punch Mahito. Realizing Yuji's intentions, Mahito retreats and begins to rapidly rebound off the walls of the crater. While no one can use Black Flash at will, Yuji's prowess makes Mahito believe he could. With a countermeasure in mind, Mahito charges back at Yuji, seemingly about to trade blows.

At the last second, Mahito partially deactivates Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing on the left side of his body, causing Yuji's punch to slip off that part of his body. Just when Mahito is about to go for the kill, a delayed second impact caused by Divergent Fist hits his left side, throwing off his counter strike. Yuji ducks under Mahito's missed attack and prepares to deal the final blow, while the cursed spirit aims his right elbow blade at Yuji, intent on extending it to pierce Yuji.

Yuji using Black Flash to defeat Mahito (Anime) Yuji puts an end to his long struggle against Mahito. Suddenly, Todo's voice echoes throughout the battlefield, interrupting Mahito's momentum. Standing above the edge of the crater, Todo proclaims that his arm is merely a decoration and the act of applause is an acclamation of the soul, before using his amputated arm to imitate clapping with his remaining hand. Anticipating a switch, Mahito turns around and swings behind him, before realizing too late that there was no position swap and ends up hitting nothing. Todo apologizes for fooling Mahito and reveals that his cursed technique is dead. Taking advantage of Mahito's distraction, Yuji strikes the curse with his maximum cursed energy Black Flash. The immense power of the punch blasts Mahito out of the crater and forces him out of his Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing form.

Weakened and heavily injured, Mahito tries to regurgitate his stockpiled transfigured humans, only to realize he ran out of them. As Mahito begins to despair, Yuji stands over him and admits that the two are the same, despite his previous denials. He declares his sole intention of continuing to kill Mahito henceforth, no matter what form the cursed spirit takes even if he is reborn. Aware that he is nothing more than a cog in the grand scheme, Yuji resolves to keep killing curses without seeking a reason or meaning, intent on fulfilling his role as a jujutsu sorcerer until his death.

Pseudo-Geto confronts Mahito after his defeat (Anime) Pseudo-Geto suddenly appears to console his defeated ally. Mahito flees out of fear, with Yuji slowly pursuing. In an imaginary snowy forest, Mahito is a rabbit running from a pack of wolves led by a white wolf that symbolically represents Yuji, before finally tripping over after twisting his ankle. As Yuji walks up to him, the special grade cries out in horror and begins flinging snow (dirt in reality) at Yuji, fruitlessly trying to stop him. Yuji then punches down on Mahito, and while he misses the strike, he then kicks Mahito away.

Injured even more, Mahito struggles to crawl away when suddenly a person appears before him, who is revealed to be Pseudo-Geto. His sudden appearance surprises the other two, and standing over Mahito, Pseudo-Geto asks if the cursed spirit needs saving.

At 11:28 PM, Panda, in his Gorilla Mode, searches for Atsuya Kusakabe in the wreckage in front of the Shibuya Stream caused by Jogo's Maximum: Meteor. Noticing the grip of Kusakabe's katana, Panda locates the grade 1 sorcerer and helps free him from the rubble. Having just witnessed Sukuna's rampage, Kusakabe tells Panda that he will support Yuji's execution, despite the latter's attempt to explain.

A few minutes later, at 10:36 PM in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Mei Mei shares a bed with Ui Ui in a hotel room. She apologizes for exhausting him, and teases him about his embarrassment. Suddenly, Mei Mei receives a phone call, causing her to leave the bed and answer it. She reveals to the person calling her that she was almost killed by Pseudo-Geto and had to escape with Ui Ui's cursed technique. Mei Mei then advises them to sell all their Japanese stock and Tokyo real estate immediately, having already exchanged all her yen, as she expects the collapse of Japan's economy to cause a negative effect on other major developed nations. As the person on the other end thanks her, Mei Mei expresses that she looks forward to future business cooperation in exchange for the information.

Around the same time Panda located Kusakabe, on BF3 of the Shibuya Station, Choso wakes up crying after having another imaginary flashback of Yuji eating with his other brothers. Resolving to ascertain Yuji's identity and his own, Choso gets up and moves out.

Yuji injured by Pseudo-Geto (Anime) Yuji overwhelmed by the strengths cursed spirit manipulation provides its user. At 11:36 PM in the present, Pseudo-Geto asks Mahito if he needs saving. Recognizing Geto's name, Yuji acts quickly and rushes towards the curse user while demanding he return Satoru Gojo. Pseudo-Geto nonchalantly explains that people of the mid-Edo era believed the catfish was associated with earthquakes, and a particularly giant catfish moving underground was the cause of earthquakes. As he explains this, he summons a catfish-like cursed spirit that swims into the ground.

Suddenly, a gigantic hole that is the curse's mouth opens up underneath Yuji, causing him to lose his balance as he falls into the hole, only to fall on the ground instead as if the hole never existed. Seeing Yuji bewildered, Pseudo-Geto asks if he thought he was falling, and explains that in the eyes of others, he simply tripped over. He further explains that Cursed Spirit Manipulation's advantage lies in the endless tactics it provides its user due to their ability to command countless cursed spirits of semi-grade 1 and higher. Even if the opponent adjusts to a cursed spirit's cursed technique or destroys the curse itself, the user can always summon a new one or summon multiple curses at once.

Yuji tries to attack Pseudo-Geto again, this time countering the catfish curse by jumping in the air. As he charges cursed energy in his fist, Pseudo-Geto unleashes a swarm of centipede curses that pushes Yuji back and ensnares him. Once ensnared, the catfish curse opens its mouth once again, causing Yuji to fall. As the centipede curses disperse and return to Pseudo-Geto, the curse user expresses his belief that Suguru Geto would have defeated Yuta Okkotsu during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons had he not divided his forces. Despite being heavily injured, Yuji insistently demands Satoru back, leading Pseudo-Geto to laugh in response and admit that Sukuna's vessel is indeed tough.

Mahito is absorbed by Pseudo-Geto (Anime) Mahito is absorbed by Cursed Spirit Manipulation. Mahito suddenly lunges at Pseudo-Geto from behind, intending to transfigure him with Idle Transfiguration. However, the curse user anticipated this and effortlessly dodged the attack. With Pseudo-Geto's hand over him and poised to absorb him, Mahito reveals that he always knew of Pseudo-Geto's true plans, having been born from humans. Mahito is then excruciatingly transformed into an orb despite his desperate attempts to free himself. Holding the black orb that contained Mahito, Pseudo-Geto continues his discussion with Yuji about the future of the jujutsu world.

Pseudo-Geto begins informing Yuji about Maximum Techniques, which are an innate technique's most powerful technique outside of Domain Expansion, and Cursed Spirit Manipulation's Maximum: Uzumaki combines cursed spirits in the user's possession into a blast of ultra-dense cursed energy. As he is explaining, Pseudo-Geto suddenly begins to laugh, leading Yuji to angrily ask why he is laughing. Pseudo-Geto apologizes and explains that he found it funny that he started acting like Suguru.

Pseudo-Geto ingests Mahito (Anime) Pseudo-Geto consumes Mahito's orb. Resuming his explanation, Pseudo-Geto explains that while Uzumaki is a powerful technique, he initially had little interest in it since it negated Cursed Spirit Manipulation's greatest advantage, the diversity of attacks at the user's disposal. As a result, he only used it to recycle low-grade curses until he discovered its true potential, which is the ability to extract the cursed techniques of semi-grade 1 and higher cursed spirits. Finishing his explanation, Pseudo-Geto swallows the orb containing Mahito, adding the special grade to his arsenal of curses.

Looking up, the curse user calls Momo Nishimiya foolish for thinking he wouldn't notice her floating above him on her broom. Flaring up the light in a lantern attached to her broom, Momo signals to her allies the location of their enemy. Noritoshi Kamo notices the signal and launches a volley of cursed energy-infused arrows that rain down on Pseudo-Geto, who easily dodges them and quickly notices Mai Zenin from afar before using a cursed spirit to block a bullet shot by her sniper rifle. Pseudo-Geto commends Mai's decision of using conventional weaponry against sorcerers.

Pseudo-Geto's Uzumaki (Anime) Maximum: Uzumaki! Kasumi Miwa suddenly appears behind Pseudo-Geto, recalling her past and her decision to become a jujutsu sorcerer because she didn't want to die. Activating Simple Domain, Kasumi grips her katana and vows to never swing a katana again as she uses Batto Sword Drawing and swings her sword at Pseudo-Geto. However, Pseudo-Geto effortlessly catches and shatters the blade with his bare hands before activating Maximum: Uzumaki. As the cursed spirits fuse behind Pseudo-Geto, Yuji yells for him to stop while Momo moves to save Kasumi. The blast of condensed cursed energy seemingly hits Miwa and obliterates a massive portion of the ground around her.

As the dust settles, Pseudo-Geto praises the experience and use of New Shadow Style by Kasumi's rescuer, who is revealed to be Atsuya Kusakabe. Utahime Iori and Momo, who arrived to save Kasumi and are now next to her, begin to argue about why the former is on the battlefield. Meanwhile, Panda and Noritoshi arrive and check on Yuji, relieved to see that he is back in control of his body. Noritoshi asks if the curse user has the Prison Realm holding Satoru Gojo, which Panda believes is likely the case. However, Panda mentions that while he recognizes the curse user's appearance as Suguru Geto, he does not know who is inside the body.

Suddenly, Choso also arrives on the battlefield, surprising Yuji. Pseudo-Geto welcomes him, but Choso finally recognizes the curse user as Noritoshi Kamo, the man who tormented his mother and mixed in his blood to create the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings, thus becoming his third parent aside from his mother and the cursed spirit that impregnated her. In a fit of rage, Choso shouts out the true identity of the man inhabiting Suguru's body, confusing Panda, Yuji and the current Noritoshi but alarming Kusakabe and Utahime. Upon inquiry from Momo, Utahime reveals that the Noritoshi Kamo Choso is referring to is the stain of the Kamo Clan and "the most evil sorcerer in history" who existed over 150 years ago.

Kusakabe admits that Pseudo-Geto's true identity makes sense considering his extraordinary usage of barrier techniques and cursed objects, and his ability to switch physical bodies, making him fitting as the mastermind. Responding to Choso, Pseudo-Geto reveals that Noritoshi Kamo is simply one of his many names, uncaring of the incarnated cursed object's rage. Enraged that Pseudo-Geto manipulated him into almost killing his younger brother Yuji, Choso marches up to Pseudo-Geto, only for Uraume to suddenly appear and stop him. Despite the curse user's orders, Choso refuses to step aside and reiterates that he is Yuji's older brother.

As a side effect of his Blood Manipulation, Choso can sense any anomalies that occur to his younger brothers no matter the distance. This is what allowed him to sense the deaths of Eso and Kechizu, as death is the final and biggest anomaly for a living creature. When he was about to finish off Yuji after their earlier fight, Choso sensed his death, leading him to realize that Yuji is his blood-related younger brother, which is highly possible since "Noritoshi Kamo" prolonged his life by swapping bodies. Intent on fulfilling his duty as an older brother, Choso releases his blood and begins compressing it in his hands, the sheer pressure of which surprises Noritoshi Kamo, a fellow Blood Manipulation user.

Uruame barely blocks Piercing Blood (Anime) Urame barely manages to block Piercing Blood in time. In the blink of an eye, Choso fires Piercing Blood at Uraume, surprising them with its speed as they barely react in time to block it. Firing a second beam, Choso swings the stream of blood at Pseudo-Geto, who jumps away from the attack. Continuing the assault, Choso uses his blood to cut a pillar in the ground below Pseudo-Geto and eject it up, launching the curse user into the air. Leaping onto the stone pillar, Choso slices apart the top section with his blood, destroying Pseudo-Geto's footing.

As Pseudo-Geto falls down, Choso fires another Piercing Blood at him, only to miss as a flying manta ray-like curse swoops in to rescue the ancient curse user. Flying through the air, the cursed spirit's speed allows it to evade Choso's subsequent blood beams, much to his frustration. Pseudo-Geto summons a giant gate-like curse to crush Choso, only for the Death Painting to cut it in half with Piercing Blood before controlling the blood he fired into the air earlier to rain down on Pseudo-Geto. Flying through the rain of blood, Pseudo-Geto crashes the manta ray curse near Choso in order to kick up a cloud of debris that obscures his vision, allowing him to sneak up behind the latter and punch him away. Following up his attack, Pseudo-Geto summons a large humanoid curse that pushes Choso off the pillar.

Controlling the blood that he formed into daggers earlier, Choso moves them below his feet in order to propel him back onto the pillar. Upon arrival, he immediately fires Piercing Blood at Pseudo-Geto, who moves aside to reveal a cursed spirit that absorbs the blood beam and reflects it back. The two then engage each other in close-quarters combat, though Pseudo-Geto outclasses Choso by evading his attacks while landing strikes. As he kicks Choso in the chest, Pseudo-Geto uses the force to push himself off the pillar while suggesting Choso to not strain himself after fighting so much earlier. Choso doesn't consider being tired as a reason for not putting his life on the line to protect his younger brother and proceeds to jump after the curse user.

Frost Calm (Anime) Uraume immobilizes the sorcerers with Frost Calm. Overhearing their conversation, a confused Panda asks if Yuji is actually related to Choso. Yuji clarifies that they aren't and reveals that Choso nearly killed him earlier. Regardless of his relationship with Yuji, Noritoshi points out that Choso's interference has provided them with an opportunity to attack Pseudo-Geto and retrieve the Prison Realm. With two cores remaining, Panda leads the charge while the other sorcerers follow his lead. Suddenly, Uraume activates their innate technique: Ice Formation and uses Frost Calm to release an icy mist that instantly freezes Choso, Noritoshi, Panda, and Kusakabe in blocks of ice.

Pseudo-Geto asks Uraume to not to kill the sorcerers because he needs messengers. The curse user heals their hand using a reverse cursed technique while expressing their discontent, surprising Kusakabe with the feat. Choso tries to melt the ice by activating Flowing Red Scale and raising his body temperature, but is stopped by Uraume who threatens to freeze him in more ice. Yuji suddenly appears and drop kicks Choso out of the ice to save him, having been frozen less extensively than the rest. An irritated Uraume reminds Yuji that his body belongs to Sukuna.

Yuki Tsukumo comes to the rescue (Anime) "What kind of girls are you into?" Yuji asks Choso if he is an ally to the jujutsu sorcerers, which the latter denies while insisting that he is Yuji's older brother and asks him to call him "big brother", much to Yuji's annoyance. Momo flies down on her broom and uses it to launch Wind Scythe at the two curse users, though the wind blade is easily deflected by Uraume. The Kyoto third-year then informs Yuji and Choso that they are the only ones still mobile and asks them to help buy time for Utahime. Believing that Yuji alone can serve as a messenger, Uraume uses Icefall to create a stream of icicles that freeze the three before raining down on them from above, seemingly about to kill them before they are abruptly rescued by Yuki Tsukumo. Accompanied by her shikigami, the special grade sorcerer asks a surprised Pseudo-Geto what kind of girls is he into.

"The next stage of humanity lies in breaking away from cursed energy." Yuki asks Pseudo-Geto if he still remembers their conversation from twelve years ago about finding a way to make cursed spirits disappear from the world, hoping to buy time for Larue to move into position. She believes that the next stage for humans is detaching themselves from cursed energy, while Pseudo-Geto argues that it can only come from optimizing cursed energy. Partially frozen and entirely confused, Yuji has no clue what the two sorcerers are talking about.

Pseudo-Geto states that he thought Yuki abandoned her method when Toji Zenin died. Seeing the stitches on his forehead, Yuki decides to stop discussing the past with Pseudo-Geto and instead points out a major flaw in his plan. Since there are far fewer sorcerers and cursed spirits abroad, optimizing cursed energy through Tengen's barrier would only allow the Japanese to become sorcerers. This would result in Japan having a monopoly on cursed energy, which would lead to an unfavorable reaction from other countries due to living humans becoming energy sources, with the ensuing chaos being far from the ideal world she wishes to create.

Pseudo-Geto laughs and reveals that his goal is completely different from hers, as he does not wish to create a peaceful world nor one without cursed spirits. He sees sorcerers, non-sorcerers, and cursed spirits all as possible forms of cursed energy in the shape of humans. He always believed that there must be more to human potential, which was why he created the Death Painting Wombs as Noritoshi Kamo. However, he realized that his creations are ultimately limited by his own potential, hence why he wishes to unleash chaos he cannot control to achieve his goals.

Remote Activation of Idle Transfiguration (Anime) Pseudo-Geto activates Idle Transfiguration to manipulate the souls of people he's marked. Having already extracted Mahito's innate technique, Pseudo-Geto prepares to activate it. Yuki quickly realizes what the curse user might be trying to do and asks Yuji what happened to the soul-manipulating cursed spirit. Yuji reveals that Pseudo-Geto already absorbed Mahito, much to Yuki's dismay. Pseudo-Geto slams his palm on the ground, creating a giant purple seal marking on the ground that rises into the sky. Yuki initially thought something happened to Tengen's barrier, before realizing that Pseudo-Geto was remotely activating a cursed technique.

Pseudo-Geto thanks Yuji for helping Mahito reach his potential before he was absorbed via Cursed Spirit Manipulation, as the cursed techniques he extracts from curses stop improving upon absorption, though he regrets not being able to absorb Jogo. Yuki asks what he's done, and the curse user reveals he used Idle Transfiguration on two different types of people who had already been marked with the same seal he just cast. The first type of non-sorcerers marked are people who had ingested cursed objects similar to how Yuji incarnated Sukuna. The second type are those whose brains were meant to be non-sorcerers like Junpei Yoshino. Using Idle Transfiguration, Pseudo-Geto adjusted their brains to those of sorcerers, allowing the latter to develop innate techniques while giving the former strength to become proper vessels.

Tsumiki wakes up (Anime) As one of the people marked, Tsumiki finally awakens. Upon undoing a knot, Pseudo-Geto reveals he had just lifted the seal on the cursed objects, allowing them to incarnate through their vessels, some of whom had been unconscious due to his cursed energy. In her hospital room, Tsumiki Fushiguro awakens as the seal marking appears on her forehead. Pseudo-Geto intends to have his chosen sorcerers kill each other and deepen their understanding of cursed energy, comparable to releasing a thousand malicious Yujis. Yuki finds it hard to believe that a thousand people would willingly kill others upon being granted powers, but Pseudo-Geto ensures her that he would not make such an oversight before pointing out that her questions are straying from the topic. Annoyed, Yuki asks Yuji to help her beat up Pseudo-Geto, but the student is unable to, as he is still frozen in place.

Suddenly, all the ice melts as Uraume collapses to the ground, freeing Yuji and everyone else. Pseudo-Geto asks Uraume what's the matter, with the latter realizing that they have been poisoned. Choso reveals that his poisonous blood must be the reason, as Uraume was hit by his Piercing Blood earlier. Momo Nishimiya suggests that there are more enemies since Mai Zenin hasn't supported them since her sniper shot, though Yuki assures her that Mai, Aoi Todo, and Arata Nitta are currently protected by her companion. Now freed, Panda and Noritoshi Kamo also prepare to join the fight. In contrast, Atsuya Kusakabe lies on the ground, tired and discouraged.

Pseudo-Geto shows Prison Realm to Yuji (Anime) Pseudo-Geto escapes with Prison Realm and declares the future will reflect the World of the Heian. Despite the interruptions, Pseudo-Geto continues his speech and reveals that the cursed objects he had the non-sorcerers ingest were created from sorcerers with whom he had made vows since a thousand years ago, which became null when he obtained Suguru Geto's body. Yuki understands the implications of this just as Pseudo-Geto announces that this is the world of the future, summoning several cursed spirits to assist his escape. Deliberately taunting Yuji by showing him the Prison Realm, Pseudo-Geto says he expects much from the first-year before asking if Sukuna is listening, as he declares that the Heian Era, the golden age of jujutsu sorcery, has returned.

A few days after the Shibuya Incident, news reports on the event reach the ears of non-sorcerers, many of whom are unconcerned or skeptical about it, believing it to be the result of a terrorist attack or natural disaster. Meanwhile, Jujutsu Headquarters evaluates the situation, revealing that the 23 wards have been almost completely destroyed, as more than ten million cursed spirits were estimated to have been released. The condition of the Prime Minister's deputies is also unknown, creating a political vacuum. The headquarters plans to evacuate the five million residents within the affected area, but struggles to think of how to explain the situation to the public, especially since they themselves don't know the cause. With the revelation that only rural towns and villages have yet to be overrun by cursed spirits, a member of the headquarters proposes that they list the entire metropolitan area as a prohibited area.

Void created by the Shibuya Incident (Anime) The destruction of the twenty-three wards leaves a void in Tokyo. With sorcerers having their hands full protecting evacuees in the area, a member fears that the power vacuum could cause a foreign military intervention. Just then, a member of the board receives a call and proceeds to inform the others of the higher-ups' decision: they are to disclose the existence of cursed spirits to the public but declare that they only appear in Tokyo in order to draw cursed energy to the city, and contain curses to the area by expanding the barriers on the Imperial Palace and above the Tombs of the Star to the prefectural boundaries.

Yuta saves a civilian from a Cursed Spirit (Anime) Yuta Okkotsu enters the scene. In a convenience store in Shibuya, a young girl scavenges for food. She suddenly spots an eerie figure in the doorway telling her to come out and that it's dangerous. It attempts to lure her out with the promise of hot baths and seeing her relatives. Confused, the girl asks if the person wants a drink, which they accept. As the girl runs outside the store, it is revealed that the figure was a human being used as a decoy by a giant curse with razor-sharp teeth that opens its mouth and is about to devour her. Leaping down from above, Yuta Okkotsu suddenly appears and stabs the cursed spirit in the head with his katana, defeating it and saving the girl.

With a friendly attitude, Yuta makes sure that the girl isn't hurt before praising her for her efforts, noticing her worn-out shoes that suggest she walked a great distance to the commercial district. Still alive, the severely injured curse struggles to eat Yuta while he is not looking, only to be violently thrown and splattered against a building. The girl notices and tries to look at the aftermath, but Yuta covers her eyes from the carnage and scolds Rika for overdoing it.

In a flashback, Yuki was talking with someone and apologized for not making a move sooner, saying that she was planning on playing the long game. She coyly remarked that she was not necessarily on their side, as she only wanted to rid the world of cursed spirits, before adding that she and her comrades would take responsibility for sending back the kids who were present. As she revealed that she plans to confront Tengen, she asked Yuji what he planned to do.

Consequences of the Shibuya Incident (Anime) The notices from the higher-ups. Later, Yuta meets with the higher-ups who insincerely praise his efforts. He bluntly asks if killing cursed spirits is enough to prove that he will obey their orders, which is not. Yuta then asks if he should enter into a binding vow with the higher-ups to further prove his loyalty, before declaring his resolve to personally kill Yuji for cutting off Inumaki's arm, even if he is Gojo's student.

Five notices are subsequently made known by the higher-ups. First, Suguru Geto is confirmed to be alive and his death penalty is reinstated. Second, Gojo is considered a co-conspirator in the Shibuya Incident and has been permanently exiled from the jujutsu society. Unsealing him will be considered a criminal act. Third, Masamichi Yaga is to be executed for inciting Gojo and Geto and causing the Shibuya Incident. Fourth, Yuji's execution will resume and be carried out immediately. Lastly, Yuta is appointed as Yuji's executioner.

At the crack of dawn, Yuji walks on a bridge while guiding himself with a flashlight. Arriving at its center, Yuji turns off his flashlight and waits until the sun rises. Raising his hands into the air, Yuji claps them together. Seconds later, several large cursed spirits burst out from the water under the bridge.
