Cure Answer

Akechi Anna is one of the four main Cures in Meitantei Pretty Cure!, and she is also the group leader. She is a second-year student who time-slipped from 2027 into 1999. Anna transforms into Cure Answer. Her catchphrase is "Gold-Star!"

Her Pretty Cure partner is Cure Mystique.

Anna has light orange hair with slightly thick eyebrows, open bangs that frame her face, thick forelocks that curl towards her cheekbones, small low buns with locks that stick out held by lilac ribbons, and a curly ahoge. When let down, her hair is torso-length. She has round mint eyes. Casually, she wears a pastel pink frilly forearm-length top with lilac scalloped hems beneath a magenta overall dress featuring scallops and four white buttons, a dark blue skirt with ribbons, lighter pleats, and a white stripe across the middle, and white thigh-high socks with a magenta stripe. Anna accessorizes with a maroon beret accented by two lilac flowers in the corner.

In 2027, she wore dark purple boots with pale lilac cuffs and beige soles, and sometimes a purple jacket with a darker buttons, pale lilac cuffs and pockets matching the ribbon tied to the darker collar.

In 1999, she gets a pair of pastel pink boots with square cuts and toes, magenta ribbons, and duller soles. She wears the Jewel Cure Watch around her neck.

As Cure Answer, her hair turns light purple with cream highlights. It grows very long down to the ankle, split into two very thick low pigtails in two sections, each curling inwards to resemble a heart. Above are unkempt locks that stick out. She also has a pair of small buns accented with lilac orbs with gold trim and tiny crown pieces on top. Jutting out are baby blue angel wings with magenta ribbons below featuring gold trim and dots, beneath are pastel yellow translucent ruffles. She gains an additional pair of forelocks reaching her shoulders. Her eyes brighten, turn teal, and gain lilac heart flecks in the corners. She wears a light purple sleeveless top with a white insert and four gold buttons. On top is a light purple scalloped shawl with pale blue trim and dots, plus swirls near the side. On her collarbone is a lilac ribbon and tie with gold trim and diamond, with a yellow layer beneath, resting on top of white scalloped fabric. On top is a lilac heart brooch with swirly gold trim. Her skirt is pale blue with a layer made of light purple petals on top featuring pale blue trim, a peplum made of pale blue wings, and light cyan strings across the middle with orbs that match the ones on her head. The petticoat is scalloped and cream, matching her darker back bow. At the back of it is a pink heart with gold trim. On her right is her pale pink carry bag, which is hexagon-shaped, has a pale purple flap with blue trim, and a magenta ribbon and tie with a gold heart and trim respectively. Her thigh-high socks are white, split by pale cyan trim which is accented by a crisscrossed strip on top. Below are pink diamonds. Her purple Mary Jane shoes are heart-shaped with darker soles, inward cuffs, and rabbit ear ribbons in the back to accent the ones on her gloves, which are short, white, fingerless, frilly, and layered on top of pale blue slanted arm-length gloves. Her earrings are lilac ribbons with circle dangles that match the ones on her skirt and head. She accessorizes with pale lilac nail polish.

Anna is very honest and warm-hearted. She naturally moves to help people in need, and she always keeps her word. She notices others' feelings from their expressions and actions, and encourages them with both deeds and words. Rather than thinking things through at length, Anna tends to rely on gut instincts and intuition to reach answers.

Deep down, Anna is emotionally vulnerable. When it comes to her loneliness, she misses her original time period and becomes envious that Mikuru has friends. This caused Anna to sulk about these qualities. Anna doesn't tell people about her anxieties or worries; she bottles them up. Anna is also passively observant, impatient, and laid-back.

Kobayashi Mikuru: Anna meets Mikuru after traveling to the past with Pochitan. After Mikuru feels discouraged from not being able to solve the case of Souda Mari, Anna bonds with and claims Mikuru is amazing for being a Star Detective. This allows them to become Pretty Cures together after Anna stands up for Mikuru against Nijee.MPC01 Pochitan: Anna meets Pochitan on her birthday, and is shocked when the fairy brings her to 1999.

Rivalry against Cure Arcana Shadow: After Anna and Mikuru have transformed into Cure Answer and Cure Mystique, Luluka decides she'll transform into Cure Arcana Shadow too. Arcana Shadow informs Answer and Mystique that they're protecting a fake necklace, and clarifies that all the artworks in the exhibits are actually fakes. Arcana Shadow further taunts the Cures by saying that lies probably aren't bad afterall, which leaves Cure Mystique speechless. Ageseine suddenly intervenes and turns the Starlight Princess into a Hanninda. Arcana Shadow is angered by the interruption and quickly takes down the Hanninda, but allows Answer and Mystique to purify it. After the battle, Arcana Shadow leaves, but tells the Cures they can't defeat the Phantom Thieves' Guild as they are at the moment. Sometime later, Luluka arrives back at the guild where Goemon comforts her about the failure. However, everything actually went according to Luluka's plan: send out a calling card to cause a stir in the public, and then have the real artwork be put on display. After learning that the CUREtto Detective Agency in London is sending a letter containing her secret, Luluka tries to make sure her secret isn't discovered. Although now aware that the letter isn't significant, Arcana Shadow still has a fight with Answer and Mystique, rejects their help, and tells them there are some cases that can't be solved with sleuthing.
